There's never any shirking of duty when it comes to speaking about child abuse as it relates to the Catholic Church. New York Times even in there.
If a Priest is involved, it's open season and the crimes are painted for what they are.
But when it's secular or the suggestions drift into politics/showbiz/big business/banking…. then things become less clear cut. Then the accusers become 'conspiracy theorists', then the claims become outlandish, then even the idea that child 'love' might not be such a bad or evil thing raises its 'progressive' head.
