ah, poor Ben.

I kept hoping that three ghosts would visit him and he'd get his integrity back . . .

alas, I am a sucker for a true believer.

but the people he believes in, I never believed in them.

but Ben somehow seemed real . . .

alas . . .

poor poor Ben, he was so obviously unhappy.

and I bet he lights up a room when he smiles. But I've never seen him really do it.

I longed that he'd come around, see how horrible the pepole were around him, who had made him their thrall.

but I never got to see anything more than just a nervous smile. I even looked for it (look for it) thinking "the world wants good pepole to be happy, and he must be . . . somehow. Alas . . "

alright it's far fetched that I thought 'Alas'.

however at the start of the Obama years, before I realized that the worst case was continuing forward and that Obama was worse than what I discovered about him . . . Ben was the only chance in that whitehouse of anyone on their team who mioght end up being heroic . . .

and wonderful.

alas . . .
