D3 supplements are NOT the same as D produced naturally in your body by exposure to the sun.
i tried taking 5000IU softgels from reputable source to make up for lack of sun during winter.
my blood pressure immediately shot from my baseline 115/70 to 150/95 and stayed there for several weeks.
(it's a fat soluble vitamin and it therefore takes that long to flush it out of the body.)
afterward, my bp returned to my normal baseline. i repeated the experiment a second time just to be sure i had correctly identified the cause. same result.
BOTTOMLINE: some people MAY have adverse reactions to vitamin D supplements. use with caution, or stick with sunshine.
