The emails and text messages of Hunter Biden are depressing. Despite many millions of dollars in income, the younger Biden seems to be always in financial distress.

These emails and texts came to light in a series of New York Post stories on the contents of a laptop, presumably belonging to Hunter Biden. Someone dropped off the laptop at a computer repair shop to have its hard drive content recovered. That customer never paid and never returned for the device or its contents.

The store owner was disturbed by the laptop’s content. Fearing for his safety, he released the hard drive to the FBI in December 2019. When the FBI failed to follow up on the disturbing contents, the shop owner turned over a copy of the contents to former federal prosecutor Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani, in turn, released the material to the New York Post.

In one text, Hunter Biden tells his daughter Naomi she can’t keep living like a billionaire’s daughter because her dad is broke.

It’s unclear whether the FBI employs more than one agent named Joshua Wilson. But the available evidence seems to show the Joshua Wilson who signed the subpoena for Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the Joshua Wilson who investigates child pornography for the FBI, are the same person. This raises the possibility, not explored by the Post, that the FBI issued the subpoena for reasons unrelated to Hunter Biden’s role in Ukraine and Burisma.

The shop owner has told several news outlets that he did not see any child pornography on the hard drive. But those news outlets also confirm that the shop owner has severe vision problems. Some commenters have described him as “legally blind.”

Suppose the FBI’s child pornography and exploitation division is investigating the laptop. In that case, we begin to see possible answers to the two burning questions: Why did Hunter Biden agree to share his income with his wealthy father, and why has the FBI failed to act on the laptop’s contents.

We know that Joe Biden got a Ukrainian prosecutor fired in exchange for a $1 billion gift to the Ukrainian government.

Intelligence officials warned President Trump that his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani was the target of an influence campaign conducted by Russian intelligence, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

Four former officials familiar with the matter told the Post that the intelligence officers were worried that the president’s personal lawyer was being used to pass Russian misinformation to Trump.

The intelligence community reportedly learned of the campaign through multiple sources, including intercepted communications, that determined Giuliani was communicating with people tied to Russian intelligence during his 2019 trip to Ukraine.

Protests erupt in Covid-hit Barcelona as bars and restaurants shut for 15 days

As new coronavirus restrictions came into force across Spain’s Catalonia, bar and restaurant workers took to the streets to protest the 15-day closure of the hospitality sector, warning their industry is in danger of “extinction.”

Approximately 1,000 hospitality workers gathered in and around the Plaza de Sant Jaume, in Barcelona’s historic center, on Friday to reject the regional government’s decision to close bars and restaurants for a fortnight amid a surge in new infections.

Most of the protests have been peaceful, with demonstrators banging pots and pans together as they highlighted the impact of the new Covid-19 restrictions on businesses and jobs.

Demonstrators chanted “do not close us,”“government resign,” and “we are not to blame” as they expressed their anger over the regional administration’s decision. The demonstrations also blocked traffic and major roads as groups marched around the city.

Police in riot gear were deployed as tensions grew and some protestors hurled eggs, fruit and even plates at the headquarters of the Catalan government.

One banner, held by a protestor in a panda costume, read “In danger of extinction. Pandas and hospitality workers united by a cause.”

The announcement that bars and restaurants would close came on Wednesday as interim regional chief Pere Aragones said that Catalonia needed to act now in order to avoid a full lockdown in the future. The new restrictions were announced as Covid-19 infections in Catalonia surpassed 250 cases per 100,000 people.

The hospitality sector must close completely for 15 days under the measures, with the exception of takeaway and delivery services. Shopping centers and gyms have also been forced to reduce their capacity, while face-to-face classes at universities have been cancelled and all non-professional sports competitions suspended.

Spain has collectively registered 921,374 infections and 33,553 deaths since the coronavirus pandemic began, according to government figures. On Thursday the country registered a near record for daily infections at 13,318, along with another 140 deaths.

Joe Biden says young children who decide they 'want to be transgender' should face 'zero discrimination'

emocrat presidential candidate Joe Biden suggested that children as young as eight-years-old should be allowed to change their gender identity if they decide they "want to be transgender."

The comment came on Thursday night at an election town hall hosted by ABC News, where a woman who said one of her two daughters is transgender asked Biden what he would do to protect LGBTQ rights. The former vice president said, "I will flat out just change the law." He then told a story about seeing two gay men kissing each other and being told by his father, "Joey, it's simple, they love each other."

Biden next turned to the topic of child transgenderism: "The idea that an eight-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides, 'You know, I decided I want to be transgender, that's what I think I'd like to be, it'd make my life a lot easier,' there should be zero discrimination." He later added, "There is no reason to suggest that there should be any right denied your daughter… that your other daughter has a right to be and do."

Biden's apparent support for childhood transgenderism was panned on Twitter, where commenters pointed out the dangers of letting children below the age of consent decide to make a radical life change with long-term effects.

"Sure, because any parent who has sat there and listened to their kids change their minds on Halloween costumes 10 times in a month thinks this is a good idea," one observer tweeted. Another said, "It's almost like let them sign a mortgage for lifetime because it makes them happy at the time." Still another commenter said, "Eight-year-olds decide a lot of things that are stupid. This is disturbing. I can't see normal people buying into that insanity."

Pfizer says it could apply for emergency use authorization of COVID-19 vaccine by late November

Pfizer Inc. said Friday it could apply for emergency use authorization in the United States of its COVID-19 vaccine by late November. In an open letter, Pfizer Chairman and CEO Albert Bourla made the announcement about the progress in developing a coronavirus vaccine with its partner BioNTech, a biotechnology company that manufactures immunotherapies.

"I know there is a great deal of confusion regarding exactly what it will take to ensure its development and approval, and given the critical public health considerations and the importance of transparency, I would like to provide greater clarity around the development timelines for Pfizer's and our partner BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine," Bourla said.

Bourla said Pfizer is "operating at the speed of science," but there are three steps that must happen before the company can release its COVID-19 vaccine.

"First, the vaccine must be proven effective, meaning it can help prevent COVID-19 disease in at least a majority of vaccinated patients." Then the "vaccine must be proven safe, with robust safety data generated from thousands of patients." The last step is demonstrating that the "vaccine can be consistently manufactured at the highest quality standards."

"We may know whether or not our vaccine is effective by the end of October," Bourla said, based on its 40,000-person clinical trial. "To do so, we must accumulate a certain number of COVID-19 cases in our trial to compare the effectiveness of the vaccine in vaccinated individuals to those who received a placebo."

"So let me be clear, assuming positive data, Pfizer will apply for Emergency Authorization Use in the U.S. soon after the safety milestone is achieved in the third week of November," Bourla wrote. "All the data contained in our U.S. application would be reviewed not only by the FDA's own scientists but also by an external panel of independent experts at a publicly held meeting convened by the agency."

Bourla noted, "The timelines above reflect our best estimates of when these important milestones could be achieved."

Greenwald: Facebook and Twitter ‘United’ to Defend Their ‘Preferred Candidate’

The Intercept co-founding editor Glenn Greenwald criticized Facebook and Twitter’s recent censorship of the New York Post’s bombshell article revealing Democratic Presidential Candidate Joe Biden’s alleged meeting with executives of a Ukrainian energy firm. According to Greenwald, “In sum, the two Silicon Valley giants, with little explanation, united to prevent the sharing and dissemination of this article.”

In a recent article titled “Facebook and Twitter Cross a Line Far More Dangerous Than What They Censor,” Glenn Greenwald states that, “just weeks before the election, the tech giants unite to block access to incriminating reporting about their preferred candidate.” Breitbart News outlined Big Tech’s efforts to censor the story here.

In the article, Greenwald claims that the Post’s claims that the story was a “bombshell” were “overhyped” but that the concerted effort by social media giant’s such as Facebook and Twitter to censor the story are extremely troubling.

But the Post, for all its longevity, power and influence, ran smack into two entities far more powerful than it: Facebook and Twitter. Almost immediately upon publication, pro-Biden journalists created a climate of extreme hostility and suppression toward the Post story, making clear that any journalist even mentioning it would be roundly attacked. For the crime of simply noting the story on Twitter (while pointing out its flaws), New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman was instantly vilified to the point where her name, along with the phrase “MAGA Haberman,” were trending on Twitter.

(That Haberman is a crypto-Trump supporter is preposterous for so many reasons, including the fact that she is responsible for countless front-page Times stories that reflect negatively on the president; moreover, the 2016 Clinton campaign considered Haberman one of their most favorable reporters).

The two Silicon Valley giants saw that hostile climate and reacted. Just two hours after the story was online, Facebook intervened. The company dispatched a life-long Democratic Party operative who now works for Facebook — Andy Stone, previously a communications operative for Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, among other DC Democratic jobs — to announce that Facebook was “reducing [the article’s] distribution on our platform”: in other words, tinkering with its own algorithms to suppress the ability of users to discuss or share the news article. The long-time Democratic Party official did not try to hide his contempt for the article, beginning his censorship announcement by snidely noting: “I will intentionally not link to the New York Post.”

Greenwald summarized the situation, writing: “In sum, the two Silicon Valley giants, with little explanation, united to prevent the sharing and dissemination of this article. As Los Angeles Times reporter Matt Pearce put it, ‘Facebook limiting distribution is a bit like if a company that owned newspaper delivery trucks decided not to drive because it didn’t like a story. Twitter Backtracks on ‘Hacked Materials’ Policy, Admits Blocking Links Is ‘Wrong’

Following Twitter’s decision to censor all links to the New York Post’s bombshell story revealing that Democratic Presidential Candidate Joe Biden allegedly met with executives from a Ukrainian energy firm employing his son, Hunter Biden, on the basis of its “hacked materials” policy, the company has announced big changes to the policy. CEO Jack Dorsey added that “Straight blocking of URLs was wrong, and we updated our policy and enforcement to fix.”

The Washington Post reports that Twitter has decided to make a change to its policies relating to the sharing of “hacked materials” which resulted in the New York Post’s recent story about Hunter Biden’s business relationships being blocked. The company has faced intense pressure from conservatives and even some leftists in response to its massive censorship.

Breitbart News recently reported on the New York Post’s bombshell story that indicated that Joe Biden may have met with an adviser to the board of Burisma while he was Vice President, arranged by his son Hunter, who was working as a lobbyist for the company at the time. Joe Biden has previously said, “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”

But, the leaked emails allegedly show that Hunter introduced his father to a Bursima executive less than a year before Biden, acting as Vice President, pressured the Ukrainian government into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company. Shortly after the story broke, many found themselves having trouble sharing it across social media. This censorship comes just weeks after executives from both Facebook and Twitter joined the Biden transition team.

Emails: Burisma Adviser Told Hunter Biden His ‘Ultimate Purpose’ Was to ‘Close Down’ Investigations

An adviser to the Ukrainian energy company Burisma suggested in an email in 2015 that Hunter Biden was expected to provide “deliverables” for the company, including the “ultimate purpose” of stopping “cases/pursuits into the company’s founder.

The email, contained in a batch published by Ken LaCorte at the Media Action Network, is reportedly from the same laptop that has been the source for a recent series of articles in the New York Post purportedly about Hunter Biden’s business dealings. The authenticity of the emails has not been verified.

The batch includes an email in November 2015 from Burisma adviser Vadim Pozharskyi to Hunter Biden’s business partners (on which Hunter Biden was cc’ed), outlining a set of “deliverables.”

The emails make clear that Biden and his partners were expected to arrange meetings with U.S. and Ukrainian officials with the goal of “improving Nikolay’s case and his situation in Ukraine.”

“Nikolay” appears to refer to Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky, according to the Post.

Pozharskyi wrote that the “list of deliverables” included “the ultimate purpose” of stopping “cases/pursuits against Nikolay”:

My only concern is focus to be on the same page re our final goals. With this in mind, I would like to formulate a list of deliverables, including, but not limited to: a concrete course of actions, uncle. meetings/communications resulting in high-ranking US officials in Ukraine (US Ambassador) and in US publicly or in private communication/comment expressing their “positive opinion” and support of Nikolay/Burisma to the highest level of decision makers here in Ukraine :President of Ukraine, president Chief of staff, Prosecutor General, etc

The scope of work should also include organization of a visit of widely recognized and influential current and/or former US policy-makers to Ukraine in November aiming to conduct meetings with and bring positive signal/message and support on Nikolay’s issue to the Ukrainian top officials above with the ultimate purpose to close down for any cases/pursuits against Nikolay in Ukraine.

Other emails in the trove show a keen awareness of Hunter Biden’s relationship to his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, who was leading U.S. diplomacy with regard to Ukraine.

In May 2014, Pozharksyi wrote to Hunter Biden and Archer explaining that Burisma was under pressure from the Ukrainian government. He claimed that government officials, seeking cash, had decided to pressure the company by launching investigations that could result in the company losing its energy licenses or its business partners.

He added:”We urgently need your advice on how you could use your influence to convey a message / signal, etc .to stop what we consider to be politically motivated actions”.

Another May 2014 email from Heather King, a partner at the Boies, Schiller & Flexner law firm, to Pozharskyi — on which Hunter Biden and Archer were cc’ed — proposed creating a “bullet-proof vest” for Burisma, including relationships with U.S. government officials.

Another email, dated May 13, 2014, reported that Vice President Biden’s counsel called Hunter Biden’s business partners to ask that they tell Burisma to take down a photograph of Devon Hunter and Joe Biden that appeared on Burisma’s website.

Second batch of smoking gun emails reveal Hunter Biden's dealings with 'disappeared' Chinese energy company chairman about his $30 MILLION consultancy fee 'for introductions alone'

Hunter Biden pursued deals with a major Chinese energy company including one that would be 'interesting for me and my family', new secret emails said to be from the presidential candidate's son claim.

He also struck a deal for $30 million plus bonuses 'based on introductions alone' over three years after his father left office, then was offered a 'much more lasting and lucrative arrangement.'

The son of the Democratic presidential nominee communicated with China's largest private energy company, CEFC, according to the latest trove of messages unearthed by the New York Post from what is said to be Hunter's personal laptop.

The trove of emails have set of a series of political shockwaves including:

The laptop was revealed to include a picture of Hunter with what appears to be a crack pipe, and an 11-minute sex and drug video which is still to be seen;

Twitter barred the Trump campaign from its account for trying to share the originally story about Hunter's Ukraine emails amid a mounting row over 'censorship' by it and Facebook;

Donald Trump seized on the release - orchestrated by his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani - to call his rival 'a corrupt politician';

Senate Republicans said they will investigate the first tranche of emails, from Hunter's Ukrainian business partners, which appear to show the Burisma energy aide being introduced to Joe Biden when he was vice president;

Democrats accusing Giuliani of peddling 'misinformation' and 'parading around with a Russian agent.'

The latest emails, published again early in the morning, focus on Hunter's dealings with Ye Jianming, the former chairman of CEFC in 2017, after his father had left office and when it was thought he would not run in 2020.

Ye has not been seen since he was taken into custody by Chinese authorities in 2018 amid rumored links to the Chinese military and intelligence services.

It was previously known that he gave Hunter a diamond

CEFC went bankrupt earlier this year after it was unable to repay its huge debts after warnings over its lack of transparency and dealings with sanctioned Russian firms.

In one email sent to Hunter in May 2017 titled 'Expectations', details of 'remuneration packages' for six people in a business venture were discussed.

He was identified as the 'chair/vice chair depending on agreement with CEFC', an apparent reference to the now bankrupt Shanghai conglomerate China Energy Co.

Hunter's pay was '850' and the correspondence also noted how he 'has some office expectations he will elaborate'.

Claim: Paris Beheading Victim Teacher Who Showed Mohammed Cartoon in Freedom of Speech Lesson

France’s anti-terrorism police are investigating after a man was beheaded in Paris on Friday evening.

One man was found beheaded in the north-western Paris suburb of Éragny, Val-d’Oise on Friday afternoon, after a police patrol came upon a man carrying a knife. Major French newspaper Le Figaro reports the officers ordered the man to drop his weapons and when he didn’t and acted aggressively towards them they opened fire, killing him.

Shortly afterwards, the decapitated body was discovered by officers, the paper reported. Because the suspect was wearing an explosive vest the officers could not approach the body immediately and bomb disposal officers were called onto the scene.

Various reports in French media claim the suspect was carrying, in addition to the explosive belt, a knife, gun, or both.

The investigation of the attack has been taken on by France’s national counter-terrorism police, who are considering a case of “assassination in connection with a terrorist enterprise”.

Actu17, a news site with links to French law enforcement and Europe-wide radio network Europe1 both report the victim in the beheading was a teacher who had shown cartoons of the Islamic prophet Mohammed during a class, and that this may have been the motivation for the killing. Paris newspaper Le Parisien goes further with the claim, noting sources who claimed the victim was a history teacher who had shown the cartoons as part of a lesson on freedom of expression.

Mexico’s Former Secretary of Defense Arrested In California

Federal authorities in California arrested Mexico’s former secretary of defense. He is expected to make a court appearance in the near future where U.S. federal prosecutors will unveil the charges against him.

On Thursday evening, Mexico’s Foreign Relations Minister Marcelo Ebrard announced via social media the arrest of former Mexican Secretary of Defense Salvador Cienfuegos Zepeda. The minister claimed he received notice of the arrest from the U.S. Embassy in Mexico.

Cienfuegos served as Mexico’s top military official during the administration of former President Enrique Pena Nieto. As part of his duties, Cienfuegos was the top authority in Mexico’s military. During that period the Mexican military was one of the main forces involved in the country’s war on drugs.

According to Ebrard, Cienfuegos is expected to go before a judge in California on Friday morning. It is customary in U.S. federal court cases that sealed charges are not disclosed until the defendant appears before a magistrate. In cases with several defendants, prosecutors only reveal the names of the arrested parties.

The arrest of Mexico’s former top military official comes just months after U.S. authorities arrested the country’s former top law enforcement official Genaro Garcia Luna, Breitbart Texas reported. Garcia Luna served as the public security secretary for Mexico from 2006 to 2012 under President Felipe Calderon. According to federal prosecutors, Garcia Luna took millions in bribes from drug cartels in exchange for protection and information. It remains unclear if Garcia Luna’s charges are connected with the sealed charges against Cienfuegos.

Macron: Europe Leaves Door Open to Brexit Deal… if UK Surrenders Territorial Waters

French President Emmanuel Macron has told the UK to surrender on continued fishing rights in British waters or prepare to leave without a deal. While Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Friday that the UK should prepare for a no-deal Brexit.

Amongst the several issues holding up progress on a deal, it is the dispute over fishing that has come to a head in negotiations between London and Brussels, with countries like France set to lose out by the UK regaining control over her territorial waters.

“Under no condition can our fishermen be sacrificed during Brexit,” Mr Macron said on Thursday at the Brussels summit, according to The Times. “If conditions aren’t met, it’s possible we don’t have an agreement. We are ready for that. If there are no good terms found at the end of the discussion, we are ready for a no-deal,” he added.

Mr Macron further laid claim to British waters as being ‘European’, saying: “We didn’t choose Brexit. It’s the British people’s choice. So protecting the access of our fishermen to British waters, finding a good compromise for our fishermen — and I’m talking about all European countries concerned including France — is an important point in this discussion, for us.”

Downing Street was said to have been dismayed by the remarks, with Britain’s chief negotiator Lord David Frost saying that he was “disappointed” by the summit’s conclusions. Frost was further “surprised” that the EU refused to begin intensive talks, despite that being agreed on with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on October 3rd.

“I’m also surprised by the suggestion that to get an agreement, all future moves must come from the UK. It’s an unusual approach to conducting a negotiation,” Mr Frost said.

Even German Chancellor Angela Merkel admitted earlier this week that for a deal to be struck, it must be mutually beneficial for both parties — suggesting movement should come from more than just the British. German sources have also told The Telegraph that a no-deal Brexit would mean the EU losing all of its access to British fishing waters, and not just some, suggesting that while France is holding the hard line, Germany is inclined to be more pragmatic.

October 15th, the day of the European summit, was the day by which the prime minister had said that he would set a deadline for agreeing on a deal, or walking away and preparing for a World Trade Organization (WTO) relationship with the bloc.

Brussels’ chief negotiator Michel Barnier dismissed the deadline as another that Johnson would miss, and offered to come to London on Monday for further negotiations.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte also called Johnson’s bluff, saying: “Britain has already imposed so many deadlines that came and went.”

However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Friday afternoon that since there are only ten weeks left until the end of the transition period, on January 1st, “I have to make a judgement on the likely outcome and to get us ready.

“Given that they have refused to negotiate seriously for much of the last few months, and given this summit appears explicitly to rule out a Canada-style deal, I concluded that we should get ready for January the first, with arrangements that are more like Australia’s, based on simple principles of global free trade.”

The prime minister said: “For whatever reason, it’s clear from the summit that after 45 years of membership, they are not willing… to offer this country the same terms as Canada.”

Continuing: “We will prosper mightily as a free-trading nation, controlling our own borders, fisheries, and setting our own laws.”

He added that “we can do it” because it was always clear that there would be changes no matter what deal was struck with the bloc, and called on travellers, businesses, and hauliers to “get ready”.

US customs officers seize 13-ton shipment of Chinese beauty products made using Uighur prison labor

United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized a 13-ton shipment of beauty products from China, amounting to $800,000 in July. The shipment, which included wigs made of human hair suspected to be taken from prisoners, originated from the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region in northwestern China. CBP officers seized the shipment compliant with a June detention order for Lop County Meixin Hair Product Co. Ltd., the manufacturer of the beauty products.

According to information received by the CBP Office of Trade, the company used prison labor to manufacture its products. Section 1307 of the Tariff Act of 1930 explicitly forbids importing all products “mined, produced, or manufactured wholly or in part in any foreign country by convict labor, forced labor, or indentured labor.”

CBP Office of Trade Executive Assistant Commissioner Brenda Smith said: “It is absolutely essential that American importers ensure that the integrity of their supply chain meets the humane and ethical standards expected by the American government and by American consumers.”

Smith added that the manufacture of Lop County Meixin’s products using forced labor constituted a “very serious human rights violation,” and the CBP’s seizure of the shipment “intended to send a clear and direct message … that illicit and inhumane practices will not be tolerated.

Patronizing products made in Xinjiang is enabling Uighur forced labor

The Xinjiang region is home to 11 million Uighurs who follow Islam and have a culture and language distinct from the Hans who populate the rest of China. However, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is persecuting the Uighurs in Xinjiang by putting them in re-education camps and brainwashing them to give up their traditional beliefs and culture. Those who do not yield are subjected to torture, physical abuse, sleep deprivation and forced labor.

The U.S. State Department estimates that more than 1 million Uighurs have been detained in the region’s re-education camps alongside other minorities.

The beauty products seized by CBP officers are not the only products of Uighur forced labor: Even ubiquitous items such as smartphones, face masks and garments are the result of inhumane labor practices in Xinjiang.

A March report by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) detailed how Uighurs are forced to work in factories that produce components for mobile phones. When their work shifts are finished, they are sent to Mandarin language and behavioral re-education classes and prohibited from joining religious observances.

SF Board Of Education Commissioner: Merit Is ‘An Inherently Racist Construct Designed And Centered On White Supremacist Framing’

In a series of social media posts this week, a commissioner for the San Francisco Board of Education declared that “merit” is “an inherently racist construct designed and centered on white supremacist framing.” She added, “We racially code our world based on implied beliefs that privilege whiteness.”

In the tweet thread, Commissioner Alison Collins first referenced a paper that “analyses how high-stakes, standardised testing became the policy tool in the U.S. that it is today and discusses its role in advancing an ideology of meritocracy that fundamentally masks structural inequalities related to race and economic class,” and also references radical-leftist pseudo-historian Howard Zinn.

The paper also states that high-stakes, standardized testing arose out of “racist and classist legacies”:

The historical roots of high-stakes, standardised testing in racism, nativism, and eugenics raises a critical question: why is it that, now over 100 years after the first standardised tests were administered in the United States, we have virtually the same test-based achievement gaps along the lines of race and economic class? Given the historical origins of standardised testing in the social efficiency movement, which sought to educate students according to perceived future social roles, IQ testing, and the eugenics movement, there is no reason to believe that these testing systems could shake off their racist and classist legacies so easily.

Collins tweeted:

Please be mindful that “merit” is an inherently racist construct designed and centered on white supremacist framing that justifies who IS and ISN’T worthy of education, safety, justice, empathy… basically humanity. When we say some kids “deserve” access to a quality education, we are also inherently saying some don’t. When we say some schools are “academic” we are saying others aren’t. When we say some cultures value education, we are saying some don’t.

She then buttressed her argument by referencing left-wing critical race theory:

These are what folks who are experts in critical race theory call binary thinking. Black vs. White, good vs. bad, safe vs unsafe… These are all ways we racially code our world based on implied beliefs that privilege whiteness. This is also known as the “white frame.” And, yes, this even applies at a majority Asian-American school. The Model Minority Myth only exists within the context of a continuum that pits people of color against one another yet leaves the status quo unchecked.

Fundamentally the issue of selective enrollment is about access and resources, not justice. In this way “merit” is not about fairness, it’s just another sorting mechanism to justify who does or doesn’t deserve access to resources.

Biden’s ABC Town Hall Questioners Include Former Obama Speechwriter and Wife of Former PA Dem Candidate – ZERO Questions About Hunter’s Emails

Joe Biden Thursday evening participated in a town hall hosted by ABC and Democrat operative George Stephanopoulos.

ABC News and George Stephanopoulos failed to asked Joe Biden about the bombshell New York Post reports with Hunter Biden’s emails showing Biden sold the US out to China, Ukraine and Russia in pay-to-play schemes.

The New York Post Hunter Biden email scandal is the biggest story of the day, yet ABC allowed Joe Biden to participate in a 90-minute town hall without asking one single question about his Ukraine-China-Russia pay-to-play scandal while he was the US Vice President.

The town hall questioners included a former Obama speechwriter and wife of a former Pennsylvania Democrat candidate.

Fox News reported:

Two of the questioners at the ABC town hall featuring Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Thursday had ties to high-profile Democrats, including one questioner who previously worked as a speechwriter in the Obama administration.

One of the questioners at the ABC-hosted event was Nathan Osburn, a former speechwriter for the Obama White House. Osburn specifically worked for the Office of Public Affairs at the Commerce Department under the Obama-Biden administration and at the Small Business Administration.

Osburn’s profession was listed as “communications” on the ABC town hall graphic and his city was listed as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Osburn was quoted in the Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this year as “a former Obama administration speechwriter” who had created a “Philly for Pete group” aimed at boosting former Democratic presidential primary candidate Pete Buttigieg. And the LGBTQ Victory Institute listed Osburn as a senior speechwriter for the Small Business Administration in an article praising the Obama-Biden administration for its LGBTQ hiring practices.

The other questioner at Biden’s town hall is the wife of former PA Dem candidate Ezra Nanes.

She told Biden about her ‘8-year-old transgender daughter’ and Biden agreed that prepubescent children should be able to change their gender.
