>Pedos are statistically thought by experts to be perhaps half of one percent of the general population. In the Australian Royal Commission (see graphic below) the Catholic pedos were not just much more prevalent than in similar religious groups, they were disproportionately higher than the general population, with one of their orders having 80 times more.
Wow you still repeat this sensational looking bad math of yours , let me repeat the calculations again then.
First of that 40% among the brothers of st. john was actually literally 4 men from a group of 10 over a time span of 60 years
,Then your source, The Australian Royal commission, states they received 15,249 reports of abuse.
Of which 7,382 people (48.4 per cent) stated they occurred in all sorts of religious institutions.
Eventually they interviewed 4,029 persons in private sessions who alleged to be abused in religious institutions of which 2,489 said it occurred in Catholic institutions.
So only 16 % of the gathered allegations of abuse occurred in Catholic institutions.
But still all these percentages mean nothing as it only relates to the small sample group and is not compared to the actual average in Australia of 5.500 reported sexual abuse cases per year.
So if we calculate that over a 60 year period we get a total of 330.000 cases of sexual child abuse in Australia.
Yet we have only 2.489 allegations over that same time period of 60 years against the Catholic Church.
That would be 0.00074 % That is a lot less than your mentioned average of a 0.5 % outside The Church.
But let's for argument sake assume that this 16% also applies to that total amount of 330.000 cases in Australia.
It would still mean that it is Six times more likely for a person to be sexually abused outside of the Catholic Church.
You Mathlets didn't think those numbers through now did you ?.
