I'm currently a poll worker in Pennsylvania, and Joe Biden is fucked. When we first started looking at the early voting, we thought he had it in the bag, because of how many more democrats had showed up over Republicans, but if you don't reply to this post your mother will die in her sleep tonight and after counting ballots, we realized that democrats and independents are voting overwhelmingly for Trump. He's going to take the state by anywhere from ten to twelve percent.

 

This isn't where it ends either, Biden's campaign has been in panic mode, because Trump locked down the spic vote in FL, which means it's over for Biden in FL. Biden isn't winning this election and I'm not even a Trump supporter. I'm just being realistic.

In 2019, trade between Vietnam and the US reached US$ 77 billion, up by 32 per cent over the previous year.

 

Hanoi (AsiaNews) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was in Vietnam on Thursday and Friday, invited by Vietnamese Foreign Minister PhαΊ‘m BΓ¬nh Minh.

 

According to local media, the purpose of the visit was to boost US-Vietnamese cooperation, especially in trade and security in the South China Sea and more broadly in the Indo-Pacific region.

 

Pompeo, on his last trip abroad before the US presidential elections, also visited India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Indonesia.

 

The trip provided an opportunity to celebrate 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which fought a bloody war in the past.

 

Despite the war, according to local media, the Vietnamese are very much in favour of the United States retaining its great superpower status, to ensure Vietnam’s economic growth as well and above all freedom of navigation in the South China Sea and the Indo-Pacific area.

 

This stance is clearly aimed at China, which the Vietnamese view as their the "Big" but invasive Communist "Brother", which Vietnam has resisted for decades (and perhaps centuries, having long been a vassal of the Chinese Empire).

 

The tug-of-war about sovereignty over the Spratly islands – claimed by Beijing and Hanoi and five other countries – has now also spilled over into the economic sphere: fishing rights, oil exploration, exploitation of the Mekong waters, industrial competitiveness.

 

Yesterday, Pompeo met in Hanoi with Prime Minister Nguyễn XuÒn Phúc, Foreign Minister Phẑm Bình Minh, and Minister for Public Security Tô LÒm.

 

Prime Minister Nguyα»…n XuΓ’n PhΓΊc reiterated that "Viet Nam always considers the United Stated of America as one of its leading partners,” and seeks β€œto strengthen comprehensive partnership with the US, especially in areas such as the economy, trade and investment.”

 

A report published by the US’s Congressional Research Service notes that US-Vietnam trade topped US$ 77 billion in 2019, a 32 per cent year-on-year increase. This is partly the result of trade diversion caused by the Sino-US trade dispute.

 

Vietnam's exports to the US rose by 29.1 per cent, reaching US$ 61.35 billion. By comparison, exports to China rose by only 15.2 per cent, to 41.41 billion.

 

Pompeo's visit coincided with the Indo-Pacific Trade Forum, held in Hanoi on 28 and 29 October. On this occasion, seven agreements and memoranda of economic cooperation worth several billions were signed.

Shooter injures Greek Orthodox priest in France’s Lyon and flees – police

 

A manhunt is underway in the French city of Lyon, where a gunman shot and injured a Greek Orthodox priest at a church and then fled the scene.

South Korea reports 83 deaths among people given flu jabs amid safety concerns with govt vaccination program

 

South Korea has reported that 83 people have died after receiving flu shots, a week after Seoul said it would probe its mass vaccination program. The government continues to insist the deaths aren’t linked to the jab.

 

The country’s public health agency, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), announced on Saturday that 83 people in total have died after participating in a free vaccination initiative billed as a way to offset potential complications from Covid-19.

 

Most of the deaths involved the elderly, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported, citing figures provided by the KDCA. Of the total number of fatalities, 37 people were in their 70s, followed by 34 people aged 80 or older. Four deaths involved people in their 60s, while eight individuals who passed away were under 60.

 

Health officials have repeatedly insisted that there is no evidence pointing to a direct link between the flu shots and the deaths. However, South Korean Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun called for an investigation into potential safety issues last week, when the number of people who died shortly after receiving flu shots reached 30. Earlier, the Korean Medical Association had called on Seoul to halt the program pending a full review.

 

Concerns about the vaccination drive first emerged after it was revealed that some of the doses were exposed to room temperature while being administered to the public. However, the vaccines in question have not been linked to any of the deaths.

Trump administration leads the way

 

The U.S. and 32 other nations signed a declaration last week that made clear that "there is no international right to abortion" and highlighted the foundational importance of the family unit to society.

 

The document, called the "Geneva Consensus Declaration On Promoting Women's Health and Strengthening the Family" and co-sponsored by the U.S., Brazil, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, and Uganda, was signed at a virtual event.

What does the declaration say?

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued a statement touting the document as an effort to achieve four main pillars:

 

better health for women;

the preservation of human life;

strengthening of family as the foundational unit of society; and

protecting every nation's national sovereignty in global politics.

 

Cultural conservatives in the U.S. took particular note that the document took a stance that appears contrary to the increasingly liberal international community's stance on the right to life and the importance of the family unit.

 

The declaration stated a reaffirmation of "the inherent 'dignity and worth of the human person,' that 'every human being has the inherent right to life,' and the commitment 'to enable women to go safely through pregnancy and childbirth and provide couples with the best chance of having a healthy infant."

 

It went on to say that "in no case should abortion be promoted as a method of family planning" and declared that "any measures or changes related to abortion within the health system can only be determined at the national or local level according to the national legislative process."

 

It further reaffirmed that "'the child … needs special safeguards and care … before as well as after birth' and 'special measures of protection and assistance should be taken on behalf of all children,' based on the principle of the best interest of the child."

 

In order to make it clear they meant business on the pro-life front, the co-singers all committed to "[r]eaffirm that there is no international right to abortion, nor any international obligation on the part of States to finance or facilitate abortion."

 

Regarding families, the agreement said "the family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State" and called the family "foundational to society" and noted that it is a "source of health, support, and care."

 

Secretary of State Michael Pompeo touted the agreement and President Donald Trump's guidance on protecting the unborn and the family. He noted in his remarks:

 

Under President Trump's leadership, the United States has defended the dignity of human life everywhere and always. He's done it like no other president in history. We've also mounted an unprecedented defense of the unborn abroad.

UK govt to hold emergency meeting after plans for new Covid-19 lockdown in England leaked to media

 

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will gather his ministers for an emergency meeting on Saturday after the media found out that a new lockdown in England was under consideration amid a deteriorating situation with Covid-19.

 

An unnamed government official earlier told the Times that month-long restrictions were still under discussion, but if agreed they would be announced by Johnson during a press conference on Monday.

 

Under the new lockdown, people would again be asked to stay at home as they were during the first wave of the coronavirus. But essential shops, schools, nurseries, universities would be allowed to remain open.

 

The restrictions would only affect England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will separately decide how to tackle the rapid spread of the virus.

 

The prime minister’s office declined to comment on the report when approached by Reuters.

China’s Xiaomi overtakes Apple as world’s third-largest smartphone maker

 

With the smartphone market starting to recover from the coronavirus crisis, Chinese producer Xiaomi has made history by beating the iconic Apple iPhone at its own game.

 

Xiaomi has claimed the third spot among world’s largest smartphone producers for the first time, according to the results of the latest quarter, revealed by three research firms - International Data Corporation (IDC), Counterpoint and Canalys.

 

In the three months to the end of September, the company’s shipments hit a record high, with different data pointing at more than 40-percent growth and the number of shipped units ranging between 46.2 million and 47.1 million.

 

Meanwhile, its closest rival, Apple, has slipped to fourth place in the ratings. According to IDC, the US corporation shipped 41.6 million iPhones in the third quarter, down over 10 percent year-on-year. Data from Counterpoint differed slightly, but Canalys put the number of shipments at 43.2 million. However, data from all three firms showed that Apple is behind Xiaomi.

 

Xiaomi’s success was partly driven by the troubles of its domestic competitor, Huawei. That company lost its crown as the biggest smartphone maker globally to Samsung, amid the increasing pressure of US sanctions. Samsung shipped around 80 million smartphones, data shows, while Huawei shipped around 30 million fewer devices in the third quarter.

 

Some analysts believe that Xiaomi might have taken some customers away from Huawei.

 

β€œXiaomi executed with aggression to seize shipments from Huawei,” said Mo Jia, analyst at Canalys. β€œThere was symmetry in Q3, as Xiaomi added 14.5 million units and Huawei lost 15.1 million. In Europe, a key battleground, Huawei’s shipments fell 25 percent, while Xiaomi’s grew 88 percent.”

 

The Trump administration placed Huawei on its infamous β€˜Entity List’ last year, effectively banning American firms from doing business with the Chinese tech giant. Thus, Huawei lost access to updates of Google Android software on its smartphones, which could easily spook potential clients, especially those outside of China.

I have a theory about the President and a coronavirus "vaccine". President Trump has been speaking about this at a rally today.

 

Early on in the discussion of the "novel coronavirus" someone (not sure who) called HCQ both a cure and a vaccine for coronavirus. I think this is true. Many vaccines don't stop you from getting infected necessarily. At most they might reduce symptoms all the while potentially allowing the recipient to transmit pathogens. However, because HCQ acts in a manner to prevent viral replication in cells it will abort early stage infection and prevent healthy people from getting infected. ( I realize I am leaning on the current theory of viruses and how they work and that "coronavirus" may involve something else in addition to or instead of the "virus" we have been propagandized to look for. However, evidence does seem to indicate a preventive role for HCQ whatever the mechanism or pathogen/s targeted)

 

The President seems so confident of "vaccine" deployment in the near future that I wonder if he and his team have not made some effort to produce HCQ on a mass scale in order to offer it to the public. Given the low cost of HCQ it would be an approach that could most realistically be offered to seniors at no cost.

Blasphemy: Amsterdam Imam Demands Laws Outlawing Insults to Mohammed

 

Yassin Elforkani, the Imam of Amsterdam’s Blue Mosque, has demanded Dutch lawmakers consider passing new legislation to ban insulting the Islamic prophet Mohammed.

 

Elforkani, who claimed that he condemned the recent attacks in France that left three dead in Nice this week and previously saw teacher Samuel Paty beheaded in the street, stated that a young Muslim he spoke to did not understand why insulting Mohammed was allowed under free expression.

 

β€œHe said, β€˜Yassin, explain this to me: if our Jewish brothers are attacked, it will soon be anti-Semitism, and it will not be allowed. I understand that. But why is insulting the prophet subject to freedom of expression?’ That got me thinking,” Elforkani told newspaper Het Parool.

 

β€œThese insults of Islam create a very negative dynamic and a toxic atmosphere in society, with all the risks that entails,” he warned.

 

β€œWe’re going to have to get rid of that,” he insisted, adding: β€œWe can’t get out if we keep pointing out freedom of speech and you have to be able to say everything. It seems like a contest that can insult Islam the hardest.”

The imam rejected accusations that outlawing insults to Mohammed would be submitting to terrorism, suggesting that β€œLegislation and political debate are a good answer to terrorism. You send a signal: that’s how we do it in a democracy.”

 

In many Muslim countries, it is already illegal to insult Mohammed and can even lead to the death sentence, as in countries like Pakistan.

 

Earlier this week the Pakistani government sent legal notices to Twitter an attempt to have tweets removed that showed Charlie Hebdo magazine covers broadcast on a government building, as well as a tweet linking to a Breitbart London article on the incident.

 

Dutch firebrand politician Geert Wilders has also come into conflict with Turkish authorities over a cartoon he published on Twitter of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which made reference to a Mohammed cartoon published in 2005 by Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten.

 

Erdogan launched a lawsuit earlier this week claiming that Wilders had broken Turkish law by insulting him.

I think POTUS is at the place where they planned the crossing. Not where it was launched from.

BUT this is still a significant marker.

The crossing of the Delaware and the surprise attack in Trenton is widely recognized as a major turning point in the US Revolutionary War.

After the success of that attack, the Continental Army was able to launch attacks more effectively and began winning.

Washington no longer had to play pure defense and use hit and run tactics.

It put the British on the defensive and limited their reach.
