I think POTUS is at the place where they planned the crossing. Not where it was launched from.
BUT this is still a significant marker.
The crossing of the Delaware and the surprise attack in Trenton is widely recognized as a major turning point in the US Revolutionary War.
After the success of that attack, the Continental Army was able to launch attacks more effectively and began winning.
Washington no longer had to play pure defense and use hit and run tactics.
It put the British on the defensive and limited their reach.
I think POTUS is telling us we are just a few days away from a major battle and the good guys are going to start hitting [them] at lot more and a lot harder.
