Facebook Inc. took down a fast-growing group on its platform called β€œStop the Steal” that was organizing protests of vote counts around the country, in one of the social-media giant’s most aggressive moves yet to police online activity over the election results.

 

The group had grown to more than 361,000 members within 24 hours and was devoted to protesting the administration of the election, which the organizers allege has been marred by widespread vote fraud. While President Trump has repeatedly made the same claim, news organizations and fact-checking groups have found no support for it to date. The Trump administration’s Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency tweeted earlier Thursday about the robust safeguards in place to ensure a fair and accurate election.

 

Facebook’s decision to remove the group was β€œin line with the exceptional measures that we are taking during this period of heightened tension,” according to a spokesman who said that β€œStop the Steal” was β€œcreating real-world events.”

 

β€œThe group was organized around the delegitimization of the election process, and we saw worrying calls for violence from some members of the group,” he said.

Facebook has confirmed it is actively censoring pro-Trump groups that are concerned over potential vote count irregularities in various states when it issued a bombshell announcement saying it has removed a large protest group from its platform.

 

"In line with the exceptional measures that we are taking during this period of heightened tension, we have removed the Group 'Stop the Steal,' which was creating real-world events," a Facebook spokesman said.

 

The mention of "real-world events" appears simply an expressed desire to hold demonstrations, which is basic protected free speech and right of assembly.

 

"The group was organized around the delegitimization of the election process, and we saw worrying calls for violence from some members of the group," Facebook claimed Thursday without providing evidence.

 

The censorship comes after a number of Trump's own tweets alleging "fraudulent" activity and that the election is being "stolen" from him have been slapped with labels by Twitter.

 

The massive group β€” which grew to 361,000 members within 24 hours β€” was devoted to protesting the administration of the election, which the organizers allege has been marred by "widespread ballot fraud."

The WSJ further notes that "In the minutes before the group was removed, it was adding new members at a rate of more than 25,000 people an hour." Thus it appears the rapid popularity also brought it to the attention of Facebook's election content censors.

 

The move appeared to come synonymous with multiple mainstream media outlets attacking the group as advancing "conspiracies" geared toward "quashing a Biden victory" - as The Daily Beast put it on the same day as the sudden Facebook ban.

 

However, clearly this is a massive private tech company that is essentially banning Americans' attempt to assemble politically in an egregious and blatant violation of 1st Amendment principles.

 

It also appears another - yet hugely consequential given the timing - example of Facebook taking cues from major media in tandem with establishment political insiders. We've seen this in recent years on an array of issues from Syria content to criticisms of Russiagate to videos critically examining Black Lives Matter protests and riots, to anything independent or 'alternative' and lying outside the mainstream consensus.

Count and Recount Every 'Vote' Until You Win

First, they tried to bring him down with a sex "scandal" that almost elevated a creepy lawyer to a Democratic presidential contender. Then they cooked up a baseless impeachment. A virus came from China to later derail what could have been a landslide win for him. Then numerous blatant push polls tried to demoralize his supporters. (Just pick one. Less than a week before the election, an ABC News–Washington Post poll gave Biden a 17% lead in Wisconsin. Is there any way to sue these two corrupt companies?)

 

They had written him off. Yet he not only survived, but also is winning β€” until a massive cheating operation came at the right time. The votes he won in Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, and Wisconsin should be enough to re-elect Trump. But he must be stopped. Just use the old refined trick.

 

Joseph Stalin, the Russian communist dictator, once said it is not the people who vote that count, but the people who count the votes. The Democratic Party in the U.S., which is full of radical leftists and quasi-communists, understands this trick well. Not only that, but the party has perfected it.

When the stakes are too high, the invitation to cheat will be so strong that even a saint could falter. I am fully convinced that Gore would have won the recount had it not been stopped. "Votes" would have shown up from mysterious places.

 

The Democratic Party's meme sounds noble: all votes must be counted. The problem is, who counts them, whose votes need to be counted (legal or illegal), and for how long should the votes be counted?

 

President Trump was already ahead in the states of Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. With a fair and honest count, Trump will win in all of these states and be re-elected.

 

But another Democratic Party trick came in handy. When your opponent is about to win, delay the vote count.

 

Had Biden done very well and been expected to win Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania on the Election Night, the vote count would have continued. But because Trump was about to win in the aforementioned states, the vote count was postponed.

 

Why they didn't count all the mail-in ballots first, as Florida did? And why did they delay the vote count in heavily Democratic blocs? It's reasonable to believe they did it so they could anticipate the number of the votes they need to produce in order to win the election. If the still uncounted "votes" turn out to overwhelmingly go for Biden, it will be said that the ballots are coming from Democratic strongholds for justification.

 

Brilliant! But it smells to high heaven like fraud.

 

Stalin's dictum has been refined by the Democratic Party to include "whose votes" to be counted. They are applying it in this presidential election to stop Trump β€” at any cost and at any means.

 

This time, we hope they meet their match: a street-fighter president. Trump must fight to the end. Otherwise, the United States will soon descend into a banana republic.

Fuck that. My sister in law's dad died in an Indiana nursing home of failure to thrive from having 2 strokes over the past 3 years, depression, etc. Tested negative for covid 3 times. They put covid as his cause of death on his death certificate.

Earlier, NBC reported, citing insider sources, that US Defence Secretary Mark Esper had prepared a resignation letter regardless of which presidential candidate was the winner.

 

An assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, Jonathan Hoffman, refuted an NBC report that Defence Secretary Mark Esper was preparing to step down from his position, denouncing the report as "inaccurate and misleading in many ways".

 

"The NBC story is inaccurate and misleading in many ways. To be clear, Secretary of Defense Esper has no plans to resign, nor has he been asked to submit a letter of resignation," Hoffman tweeted late Thursday.

 

He continues to serve the nation as the Secretary of Defense at the pleasure of the President and is working on the irreversible implementation of the National Defense Strategy.

Thousands of bitcoins worth $1 billion were seized by law enforcement this week in what the Justice Department said was the largest seizure of cryptocurrency in the history of agency. The U.S. government seized an unprecedented $1 billion worth of bitcoin linked to criminal marketplace, the Silk Road. Thousands of bitcoins were taken by law enforcement this week, in what the Justice Department said was the largest seizure of cryptocurrency in the history of the agency. β€œSilk Road was the most notorious online criminal marketplace of its day,” U.S. Attorney David Anderson of the Northern District of California said in a civil complaint Thursday. β€œThe successful prosecution of Silk Road’s founder in 2015 left open a billion-dollar question. This week, London-based blockchain analysis firm Elliptic said that it picked up on the massive movement of bitcoin spurred by the DOJ. The company reported 69,369 bitcoins β€” worth about $1 billion β€” had been moved out of a bitcoin wallet, which had the fourth-highest balance of any in the world. Tom Robinson, co-founder and chief scientist of Elliptic, said the movement of bitcoins β€œmay represent Ulbricht or a Silk Road vendor moving their funds” but that it β€œseems unlikely that Ulbricht would be able to conduct a bitcoin transaction from prison.” The U.S. agencies were able to track down those illicit funds through a unit within the IRS that specializes in tracing virtual currency transactions. The IRS agents were able to identify 54 new bitcoin transactions executed by the Silk Road, which appear to be proceeds of some of that illegal activity, the complaint said. The agency was then able to trace that money to a specific bitcoin address that appeared to have hacked the bitcoin funds from the Silk Road. While the Silk Road was in operation, thousands of drug dealers and other unlawful vendors used it distribute illegal drugs, unlawful goods and services to well over 100,000 buyers. At the time it was taken down seven years ago, Silk Road had nearly 13,000 listings for illegal drugs and β€œmany more listings” offering illegal services such as computer hacking and murder for hire, according to the complaint. Those generated sales totaling more than 9.5 million bitcoins. The complaint also alleges that the Silk Road used a process to make it harder to track individual transactions of cryptocurrency. The forfeiture could be temporary though. The U.S. still needs to prove its case before a judge before it can control the bitcoin funds for good.
