I distinctly remember Dan Bongino (who wrote a book on Spygate) said the plan they used to trap DJT for Russian interference was originally developed to trap someone else (one of Hillary's would be competitor in the election), after DJT got his foot in they changed the target to DJT and did not have time to refine the plan.
