Interesting relative of the Vanderbilt's

Anthony Janszoon van Salee (1607–1676) was an original settler of and prominent landholder, merchant, and creditor in New Netherland. Van Salee is believed to be the son of Jan Janszoon (Jan Jansen), a Dutch pirate who after 1619 served a Moorish state on the Barbary Coast. His mother Margarita was Moorish and Van Salee was a Muslim; he may have been the first of this background to settle in the New World.

Van Salee's notable descendants include the Vanderbilt dynasty in the United States and Europe

Following numerous legal disputes, including with representatives of the Dutch Reformed Church, whose council reprimanded Van Salee and his wife for not behaving as "pious Christians", he was ordered to leave New Netherlands. But, after he appealed to the Dutch West India Company, Van Salee was allowed to settle on 200 acres (0.81 km2) in what would become New Utrecht and Gravesend, Brooklyn, at the southwestern end of Long Island. He became one of the largest and most prominent landholders on the island. In 1643 he purchased a house on Bridge Street in New Amsterdam, in defiance of the court order excluding him from that settlement. He became a successful merchant and creditor in New Amsterdam, while owning several properties throughout the region.

He had married Grietse Reyniers in 1629 in Amsterdam; she was born in Germany. The couple had four daughters together. They married into respectable colonial commercial families:

Eva Antonis, married Ferdinandus van Sycklin, an early immigrant to New Netherlands and the namesake for Van Siclen Avenue in Brooklyn. She is an ancestor of Robert Bayles, the last descendant to own Van Salee's Qu'uran. According to Van Dyck Roberts, she was baptized.

Cornelia, who married William Johnson

Annica, married Thomas Southard. Their daughter Abigail was the great-great-grandmother of Cornelius Vanderbilt

Sara, married John Emans.

Van Salee's notable descendants include the Vanderbilt dynasty in the United States and Europe.

Do the Rainere's(different spelling) tie in?

New Mexico one of 4 states in Pfizer pilot vaccine delivery program

Nov 17, 2020 / 09:52 AM MST

NEW YORK (NEXSTAR) — Pfizer announced Monday the launch of a coronavirus immunization pilot program involving four states to help with planning vaccine delivery and deployment. Last week, Pfizer announced its vaccine candidate looks to be 90% effective.

The four states, which include Rhode Island, Texas, New Mexico and Tennessee, were chosen for the U.S. COVID-19 Immunization Pilot Program because of their differences in size, population and immunization infrastructure.

Though the states were chosen to help refine a plan for the delivery, deployment and administration of Pfizer’s vaccine candidate, they will not receive the vaccine earlier than other states, the pharmaceutical company said.

“This pilot program and our collaboration with U.S. and state officials will help us prepare for broader vaccine deployment in the near future, subject to authorization or approval, as we work to address this urgent public health need,” Angela Hwang, Group President, Pfizer Bio Group President, Pfizer Biopharmaceuticals Group, said in a statement.

The vaccine must be stored at ultra-cold temperatures of minus 94 degrees Fahrenheit, presenting a distribution challenge. The company said it will take what it learns in the pilot program and adapt it to other states across the country.

Why dry ice could be critical to coronavirus vaccine distribution

“We are hopeful that results from this vaccine delivery pilot will serve as the model for other U.S. states and international governments, as they prepare to implement effective COVID-19 vaccine programs,” Hwang said.

The company is on track to apply later this month for emergency-use approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In July, Pfizer and BioNTech announced an agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense to start the delivery of 300 million vaccine doses in 2021
