SACRAMENTO — The pandemic may have "canceled" 2020, but it did not derail an annual gathering of lobbyists and lawmakers on the shores of Maui that brought people from across the country to a luxury resort this week.

Roughly 100 people from four states converged at the Fairmont Kea Lani for a four-day legislative conference organized by the Independent Voter Project, said the group's chair and executive director, Dan Howle.

The 18th annual event was a third of its regular size, Howle said, but it still drew nearly 20 lawmakers from California, Texas and Washington state. The theme? How to reopen states' economies amid the public health crisis.

Howle said he was not concerned about the public health implications of bringing people from around the country together because of the stringent requirements in Hawaii's mandatory Safe Travels program. To avoid a lengthy quarantine, visitors must provide proof of a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of arrival.

"It really doesn’t matter where you’re coming from as long as you have a negative Covid test before you arrive here," he said.

But tests aren't infalliable; they could provide the wrong result or fail to catch coronavirus during the incubation period. And there are risks to traveling because visitors could still face exposure on the island and bring the virus home.

The event comes amid a worrisome surge in infections across the country and new travel restrictions on the West Coast, and as many schools and businesses remain closed.

In the same way hordes of accounts suddenly were all over CM on twitter the other day to tell him to join NeonRevolt on Gab, and hordes of shills were flooding our board with anti-Parler propaganda, now NeonRevolt is asking his followers to do the same with Darren Beattie.

For CM, this ended up with CM announcing he would go on NeonRevolt and Andrew Torba's platform, if his twitter gets taken down. And along with that, this caused a major influx of users towards NeonRevolt's group.

This is just the latest instance in a long series of NeonRevolt PSYOPS, badgering and slandering campaigns to get people in the Q community with high following counts to join the group he controls.

On /qresearch/, we are all aware of the situation with NeonRevolt, so he is now going after people who are not: newcomers, or people who did not really pay attention to what happened earlier.

He is trying to make it look organic, but the reality is that he constantly tells his followers to go after individuals with high following counts to join his group, to drag along with them their followers to him.

And he is ready to say anything to make it happen.

Up to and including slandering good people like Bongino and Nunes in the process, even now, right in the middle of the election crisis, if that can help getting people to join his group.

Operation Stolen Innocence: 170 people charged in Tallahassee child sex trafficking network

More than 170 people have been charged in a massive investigation by the Tallahassee Police Department and its state and federal partners into the sex trafficking of a young girl.

Some 106 defendants were charged with felonies, including human trafficking, lewd and lascivious battery and possession of child pornography. Another 72 were charged with misdemeanors, including solicitation. Nineteen of the defendants face federal charges.

On Tuesday, TPD Chief Lawrence Revell and state and federal officials announced results of Operation Stolen Innocence, a two-year investigation into the sex trafficking of the girl, who was 13 and 14 years old when the offenses occurred.

Revell, during a news conference outside Police Headquarters, said the operation was perhaps the largest of its kind in TPD history. And while prosecutors said it's difficult

Vatican Releases Long-Awaited ‘McCarrick Report’ Exonerating Pope Francis

ROME — The Vatican has released its 460-page report on former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who was found guilty of serial homosexual abuse in 2018 and subsequently stripped of the title of cardinal and reduced to the lay state.

The report contains significant archival data including numerous transcribed reports and written correspondence chronicling the history of accusations, denials, references, appointments, sanctions, and eventual punishment of the disgraced prelate.

Francis commissioned the investigation in 2018 following the publication of an 11-page exposé by the former Vatican nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò. In his affidavit, the archbishop denounced an ongoing McCarrick cover-up, accusing Pope Francis of lifting sanctions imposed by Pope Benedict on the wayward cardinal and making McCarrick a trusted advisor.

Viganò claimed that shortly after Francis’ election to the papacy in 2013 he personally informed the new pope of McCarrick’s crimes and of Pope Benedict’s orders that McCarrick dedicate himself to “a life of prayer and penance,” refraining from celebrating Mass in public, and from participating in public meetings, giving lectures, or traveling.

In his affidavit, Viganò said it was clear that, “from the time of Pope Francis’s election, McCarrick, now free from all constraints, had felt free to travel continuously, to give lectures and interviews” and that “he had become the kingmaker for appointments in the Curia and the United States, and the most listened to advisor in the Vatican for relations with the Obama administration.”

The Associated Press (AP) notes that many of Vigano’s central assertions “were confirmed” in the Vatican report, “but not the ones involving Francis.”

The Vatican report says that no records “support Vigano’s account and evidence as to what he said [to the pope] is sharply disputed.”

The report suggests rather that Pope Francis basically continued to treat McCarrick the way Pope Benedict XVI had before him.

In a key 2014 article for the Washington Post, veteran Vatican journalist David Gibson painted a very different picture, one in which then-Cardinal McCarrick would have indeed been rehabilitated by Pope Francis after years of relative inaction under Francis’ predecessor.

“McCarrick is one of a number of senior churchmen who were more or less put out to pasture during the eight-year pontificate of Benedict XVI,” Gibson wrote. “But now Francis is pope, and prelates like Cardinal Walter Kasper (another old friend of McCarrick’s) and McCarrick himself are back in the mix, and busier than ever.”

McCarrick “retired in 2006 and was sort of spinning his wheels under Benedict,” Gibson stated. “Then Francis was elected, and everything changed.”

“McCarrick travels regularly to the Middle East, and was in the Holy Land for Francis’ visit in May,” Gibson stated, adding that the pope “teased McCarrick again when he saw him.”

“Sometimes McCarrick’s travels abroad are at the behest of the Vatican, sometimes on behalf of Catholic Relief Services,” he declared.

Francis, “who has put the Vatican back on the geopolitical stage, knows that when he needs a savvy back channel operator he can turn to McCarrick, as he did for the Armenia trip,” Gibson wrote.

While filling in many holes and providing background on certain historic decisions regarding McCarrick’s rise through the ranks of the Catholic hierarchy, the new Vatican report leaves many questions unanswered regarding who benefitted from McCarrick’s successes, who abetted his misdeeds, and why he seemed to enjoy such favor in the Francis pontificate.

In his 2018 affidavit, Archbishop Viganò asserted that McCarrick enjoyed a “long friendship” with Cardinal Bergoglio, the future Pope Francis, and had played an “important part” in Francis’ election, allegations that the new Vatican report neither confirms nor denies.

Yesterday, Vice President Mike Pence led a discussion with the chief executives and senior leaders of approximately 50 states, territories, and the city of Washington, DC, and the White House Coronavirus Task Force to discuss local, state, and federal COVID-19 response and recovery efforts including the continued collaboration on vaccine distribution and administration planning.

The Vice President discussed with governors the ongoing robust coordination with state and local governments in preparing to distribute a safe and effective vaccine. The Vice President also updated governors on the unprecedented medical and supply mobilization to support state and hospital needs.

FEMA Administrator Gaynor and General Sanford of DOD provided an update on key medical supply chain and stockpiles management. The Vice President previously asked governors to work with their state emergency managers and health teams to build a 60-day state stockpile of PPE and key supplies and to ensure healthcare providers quality and timely reporting of supplies at the provider-level (e.g., hospital, long-term care facility) to help support data-driven decision-making to ensure data-drive decisions on healthcare supplies and support. The Federal government has worked towards building a 90-day Federal stockpile for PPE and supplies, and establishing ongoing protocols to replenish the stockpile.

Dr. Fauci and Administrator Hahn provided an update on vaccine development and reminded governors about the multi-layered, transparent, and independent vaccine approval process. Commissioner Hahn also provided an update on the authorization of monoclonal antibodies as a treatment for COVID-19. Director Redfield provided an update on state vaccine distribution plans and ongoing CDC technical assistance efforts. Secretary Azar and Operation Warp Speed Ostrowski provided an update on vaccine distribution and administrative planning. A few leads point to the docks by the Thames, and there, Holmes and Watson learn that similar kidnappings of foreigners have occurred. Further investigation leads them to an abandoned subterranean temple, where they discover a bloody and tortured corpse upon a sacrificial altar. They also find opium with morphine which leads Holmes to deduce that it is being used as a kind of soporific to subdue victims, so that they can be abducted and trafficked out of the country. After finding a crate labelled "Black Edelweiss Institute", Holmes recalls that the mountain flower Edelweiss (Leontopodium alpinum) is a national symbol of Switzerland.

Upon arrival it is discovered that the Black Edelweiss Institute is a Swiss mental asylum headed by a gentleman named Dr Gygax. Holmes and Watson hatch a plan to gain access and investigate. Knowing that he is about to willingly fall into the hands of criminals, Holmes sends Watson away from the asylum. This is primarily for his own safety, but also so that Holmes still has a connection with the outside world should things go awry once inside the Institute. Donning a costume and assuming a false identity, Holmes enters and is quickly incarcerated. After escaping from his cell, he finds further proof of Dr. Gygax's involvement in serious criminal activities. Not only has the doctor been performing dangerous experiments on helpless victims in the asylum, he is also part of a cult awaiting the arrival of the 'One'. Holmes unexpectedly discovers that his nemesis Moriarty is a patient, though a weakened shadow of his former self having survived the fall at Reichenbach. Using Moriarty as a distraction, Holmes extricates himself from the asylum.

Their next stop is New Orleans, as the city was mentioned in a telegram to Gygax. There, Holmes and Watson are taunted and harassed by the local sheriff who recognises them and appears to have some connection to the cult. They soon hear about a local man known as Mr. Arneson and his servant, a young lad named Davy, both of whom have been missing for days. They find Davey, who is mute due to psychological trauma. After Watson treats him, Davy writes on a chalkboard a series of numbers, which Watson copies down. Holmes and Watson then rescue Arneson, who was about to be sacrificed by a crazed cult member, and manage to retrieve an ancient book.

Back in London, Holmes and Watson learn from the book about a mythical sea god who could be awakened by the sacrificing of persons representing the different nations. They also decipher Davy's numbers, which they find are co-ordinates pointing to Ardnamurchan Lighthouse on a Scottish coastline. Once at the lighthouse, Holmes and Watson have a final confrontation with the cultists and their leader Lord Rochester, whose fortune finances the sect. Holmes manages to stop the 'summoning', but a fierce storm appears, which Rochester assumes is the coming of Cthulhu. Despite Holmes' attempt to stop him, Rochester jumps to his death into the raging sea below.

American Medical Association declares racism a ‘public health threat,’ prompting both applause & mockery

The American Medical Association (AMA) has voted to recognize racism as a “public health threat” and pledged to “actively work on dismantling racist policies.” Some cheered the decision, while others were dismayed by the move.

The new policy rules, adopted on Monday, are aimed at combating racist policies and practices across all US healthcare, according to a press release on the AMA website.

“The AMA recognizes that racism negatively impacts and exacerbates health inequities among historically marginalized communities,”said Board Member Dr Willarda V. Edwards during a meeting of the AMA’s House of Delegates, adding that, without systemic changes, “the overall health of the nation will suffer.”

Among other things, the association vowed to acknowledge “the harm caused by racism and unconscious bias within medical research,” to encourage medical education curricula to “promote greater understanding” of the topic, and to work to prevent the influence of racism and bias in “health technology innovation.” The AMA also highlighted three forms of racism in health care: “systemic,” “cultural,” and “interpersonal.”

Reaction to the AMA’s decision was predictably polarized on social media, with some cheering the move while others raised their eyebrows in confusion at why it was deemed necessary.

Some commenters complained about what they saw as the politicization of science.
