Why apologize? Words matter. Don't apologize for having a strong belief. Westerners are weak enough as it is.
It is considered "tactful," but the left wants us apologizing because it assumes that we are guilty of offending with our opinion before we even speak.
I'd rather not play their game on their turf.
Simply state an opinion politely. No apology necessary. Now if you called them names, then apologize. But for having an opinion? There isn't anything "tactful" about it beyond the superficial; it is ultimately demeaning to all conversation.
Notice how "tactful" I was without the "required" apology.
