Netanyahu's son compares anti-government protesters to Daesh

Yair Netanyahu, the eldest son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has compared Israeli protesters calling for his father's resignation to Daesh.

In a post on Facebook, Yair uploaded a video previously released by his father's Likud Party in 2015 as part of its election campaign which showed a car carrying Daesh militants holding the group's "black flag".

Commenting on the video, Yair said: "I remembered where I saw the convoys carrying black flags" in reference to anti-Netanyahu protesters who travel in caravans while raising black flags to illustrate mourning democracy in Israel.

The video has since been removed from Facebook.

In response, the Black Flag movement described Yair as a parasite, saying: "He compares the black flags to ISIS [Daesh]: Netanyahu the Elder is a failure in [managing] Corona, the economy and a general failure. A good father would allow his son to live an independent life and receive the care he needs."

This is not the first time that Yair– who lives with his parents at the official Prime Minister's residence – has made controversial statements.

Earlier this year, he posted an offensive picture of the Hindu goddess Durga to attack his father's critics while last year he came under criticism after publishing several tweets denying the existence of Palestine because there is no "P" in the Arabic language.

The inventory of fake green hooey to be found within the pages of this paper goes back to the Club of Rome (founded 1968) coming up with the idea that for the elite to maintain their grip on world affairs, some scary story threatening the end of life on Earth was needed.

So the idea of Global Warming was hatched to fit this need. It also had the advantage of being a money spinner via the invention of ‘carbon taxes’ and deployment of a whole new fake green infrastructure under the title ‘The Fourth Industrial Revolution’. Yes, a truly inspiring control package was put together – just waiting for a suitable moment to be rolled-out across the world.

Well, it just happened that something called Covid came along (sheer coincidence) to kick the whole show off at the beginning of 2020. Aside from Global Warming, launched some twenty years earlier, the new show is proving to be quite a spectacle! There’s something for everybody in the tragi-comedy drama called ‘Covid-19’.

Fake news, fake views and fake truths – all conjoining to make a quite breathtaking virtual reality saga starring some previously little-known bit part actors,who leapt at the chance to take leading roles in bringing to life the technocratic Great Reset dynasty promised by the World Economic Forum. A dynasty requiring the implementation of highly tuned Al-Gore-rhythms so as to edit out the communications of all who don’t do Al’s Global Warming thing. Not just that, but EMF’ing all and sundry as a covert way of vastly reducing the global population, is also a vital part of the mix.

The only thing is, those doctors, scientists and engineers still able to think, saw immediately that they were being asked to believe that the world had gone flat again – like it was pre Copernicus and Galileo. And that 2+1=4. And that cell phone microwave radiation, now running at tens of thousands of times that of natural background radiation – doesn’t change anything and won’t do anyone any harm. No, of course not, why should it – we must have had a delusional moment ever entertaining such an idea.

As we peer at the newspaper headlines each morning, we become aware of a very well-coordinated story line being monotonously repeated day after day, with almost no variation wherever you happen to be in the world – but especially so in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. No surprise when just six corporations own 90% of the world media.

These headlines are continuously telling us to to believe in a surreal agenda that – of course – stars ‘Covid’ and comprises a whole series of absolute contradictions, invented, no doubt, for the purpose of causing mass distraction and confusion of the readership – while relentlessly pressing the fear button to ensure obeisance from a semi-paralysed public.

Iran Retaliation Likely After Killing of Scientist, McRaven Says

The retired admiral who commanded the SEAL Team 6 raid that took out Osama bin Laden described a retaliatory strike by Iran in the wake of the killing of a top nuclear scientist as all but inevitable.

“The Iranians are going to be in a position where they have to retaliate” against either the U.S. or Israel for the Nov. 27 ambush killing of scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh outside Tehran, said retired Adm. William McRaven, a former SEAL and commander of U.S. Special Operations Command.

“I don't see any way around it,” McRaven said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“[Iran is] going to have to save face. And so now the issue becomes, what does that retaliation look like?”

McRaven and former Joint Chiefs Chairman Adm. Mike Mullen, who appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” also expressed concern at how the new Pentagon leadership team installed by President Donald Trump would handle retaliation by Iran.

“I'm actually very concerned about the Trump loyalists who have now gone to work in the Pentagon,” Mullen said.

Trump fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper Nov. 9 and installed Christopher C. Miller, a retired Army colonel and Special Forces officer, in an acting role.

In addition to Esper’s departure, “a host of other people left the building,” posing a challenge to what can be accomplished in the remainder of Trump’s term in office, Mullen said.

He said it was “pretty difficult to think that over the course of 50 or 60 days you can do something constructive; but you can do something that's really destructive.”

Trump has yet to comment on Iran’s threats of retaliation. But on Friday he retweeted a statement from Israeli commentator Yossi Melman that Fakhrizadeh’s death was “a major psychological and professional blow for Iran.”

An elaborate period of nationwide mourning following the death of Fakhrizadeh began in Iran on Sunday.

On Nov. 21, U.S. Central Command announced that an unspecified number of B-52H Stratofortress bombers had flown from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to an unnamed base in the Mideast to “deter aggression and reassure U.S. partners and allies."

On Friday, hours before the death of Fakhrizadeh became known, the Pentagon and the Navy’s 5th Fleet, based in Bahrain, announced that the carrier Nimitz and its strike group had returned to the Gulf region from naval exercises with allies in the Indian Ocean.

Iran Says It Won’t Fall Into Trap of Sabotaging US Talks

Iran wants to avoid provoking tensions with the US in the wake of the assassination of one of its top scientists

All eyes are on Iran to see how they respond to the killing of one of their top scientists. The attack is widely believed to have been carried out by Israel to sabotage a future Biden administration’s efforts to return to diplomacy with Iran. Iranian officials are making it clear that they do not intend to fall into the trap.

“Iran’s scientific and defense policies won’t change because of the assassination of one scientist or general,” Iranian government spokesman Ali Rabiei said in a statement on Sunday. Iran “shouldn’t fall into the trap of linking the assassination to past nuclear negotiations,” he said.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made similar comments on Saturday. “Our people are wiser than to fall in the trap of the Zionist regime,” he said. “Iran will surely respond to the martyrdom of our scientist at the proper time.”

In an interview on Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said US-Iran relations could improve after the Trump administration comes to an end. “Under Trump’s presidency, Iran and US tensions rose to a 40-year peak. It seems unnecessary for this situation to continue,” Zarif said.

On the campaign trail, Joe Biden said he would work with Iran to rejoin the 2015 nuclear deal, which President Trump withdrew from in 2018. Both Zarif and Rouhani have said Iran can quickly come into compliance with the deal if the US lifts sanctions.

Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was killed outside of Tehran on Friday. The assassination came a few weeks after a report said President Trump reviewed options to attack an Iranian nuclear site. Since the report came out, Iran has been cautioning its allies in the region against provoking tensions with the US, hoping to avoid a military confrontation before Biden’s inauguration.

Dr. Fauci Issues Christmas Warning: ‘It’s Not Too Late To Do Something About This’

The nation’s leading infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci, has doubled down on his warning for Americans during the upcoming holiday season, saying that restrictions and travel advisories will be necessary heading into Christmas.

Fauci, a White House coronavirus adviser and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, made the announcement Sunday during NBC’s “Meet the Press,” saying the U.S. was heading into a difficult period of the coronavirus pandemic as the holiday season arrives.

“What we expect, unfortunately, as we go for the next couple of weeks into December, is that we might see a surge superimposed on the surge we are already in," he said. "I don’t want to frighten people, except to say it is not too late to do something about this.”

The warning of a “surge superimposed on the surge” comes as more than 9 million took to airports over the Thanksgiving holiday despite a warning from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention to avoid travel, CNBC reported. The CDC issued the warning ahead of the holiday weekend to help prevent a surge in coronavirus cases, which are now expected to increase in the coming days.

Fauci also urged Americans to wear masks to prevent the spread of the virus and warned that some hard decisions are going to have to be made as the Christmas holiday nears.

“I think we are going to have to make decisions as a nation, state, city and family that we are in a very difficult time, and we’re going to have to do the kinds of restrictions of things we would have liked to have done, particularly in this holiday season, because we’re entering into what’s really a precarious situation,” he said.

The warning comes as the U.S. reaches over 13.3 million positive coronavirus cases and over 266,800 COVID-19 related deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The Digital ‘Iron Curtain’ Descends

What is a ‘digital Iron Curtain’? It is when Big Digital, as Professor Michael Rectenwald terms these western Tech Goliaths, become ‘governmentalities’, using a word originally coined by Michel Foucault to refer to the means by which the ‘governed’ (i.e. ‘we the people’) assimilate, and reflect outwardly, a mental attitude desired by the élites: “One might point to masking and social distancing as instances of what Foucault meant by his notion of governmentality”, Rectenwald suggests.

And what is that desired ‘mentality’? It is to embrace the transfiguration of American and European identity and way-of-life. The presumptive U.S. President Elect, the European élites, and top ‘woke’ élites moreover, are publicly committed to such “transformation”: “Now we take Georgia, then we change the world,” (Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader, declared, celebrating Joe Biden’s ‘victory’); “Trump’s defeat can be the beginning of the end of the triumph of far-right populisms also in Europe”, claimed Donald Tusk, former president of the European Council.

In short, the ‘Iron Curtain’ descends when supposedly private enterprises (Big Digital) mutually inter-penetrate with – and then claim – the State: No longer the non-believer facing this coming metamorphosis is to be persuaded – he can be compelled. Regressive values held on identity, race and gender quickly slipped into a ‘heresy’ labelling. And as the BLM activists endlessly repeat: “Silence is no option: Silence is complicity”.

New York Road Runners CEO steps down amid ‘racist work culture’ allegations

The CEO of New York Road Runners, the non-profit behind the New York City Marathon, is stepping down amid organization-wide allegations of racism and sexism and calls for his removal.

Michael Capiraso, the NYRR president and chief executive officer, will depart the organization following 10 years of service on Dec. 31, the group announced Monday.

“Over the past several months, the Board of Directors has listened to the concerns raised and recommendations offered by the community NYRR serves, including its employees and members of the broader running community,” George Hirsch, the chairman of the board of NYRR said in a statement.

“In order to achieve our mission to help and inspire people through running, we will recruit new leadership to the organization,” he said.

Hirsch added, “The entire Board of Directors and I thank Michael Capiraso for his 10 years of contributions and dedication to this organization.”

In September, a group called Rebuild NYRR – made up of current and former NYRR employees — started an online petition demanding the immediate resignation of Capiraso for allegedly fostering a “toxic, discriminatory, and systemically racist work culture at NYRR.”

More than 1,150 people have signed that Change.org petition as of Monday morning.

“For years, we have been experiencing racism, bias, and bullying that goes unchecked. We want to create a healthy, equitable, and safe environment for ourselves and for our community. We have been pushing for fairness and cultural competency for years only to have it fall on deaf ears,” the group had posted on its website.

Trying to Curb Corruption, Saudi Arabia Arrests 226 Suspects

Last week’s arrest of 226 people, mainly a mix of public and private sector officials, is part of a campaign initiated by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to curb corruption in Saudi Arabia, Saudi journalists told OCCRP on Monday.

The Riyadh Initiative was welcomed by the G20 summit hosted by Saudi Arabia virtually on November 21-22. It is meant to create a Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities. Saudi Arabia has pledged $10 million to support the drive.

Just days after, Saudi authorities announced they had arrested 226 people, including a retired major general, as part of 158 investigations into corruption within the country’s Ministry of Defence and other government agencies.

The kingdom’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) said on Thursday that most investigations found the suspects were involved in forgery, squandering of public funds and exploiting the influence of the public office.” Authorities believe the detainees took hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes.

Formal procedures are underway to return the money taken by officials working for the health, defence and finance ministries, other civil servants and a number of Saudi and foreign businessmen.

Saudi Arabia ranks 51 out of 198 countries on Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index.

The agency did not reveal any names but highlighted six of the most prominent cases. One involved 48 people, including 18 Ministry of Defence employees, who allegedly took $327 million in bribes.

Another involved the director of quality management at a local municipality and his two brothers who allegedly helped one contractor win a number of projects worth $453 million.

In a third case, a retired major general allegedly received a $2.18 million bribe in “cheques and cash” from three employees of a company that won a contract with the Ministry of National Guard.

“The Authority affirms its pursuit of anyone who exploits the public office to achieve personal gain or harm the public interest in any way possible,” according to the Nazaha statement.

New EU Prosecutor’s Office Takes Aim at 50-Billion-Euro-a-Year ‘Carousel Fraud’ Schemes

OCCRP spoke with the head of the new European Public Prosecutor’s Office about the challenges in fighting the widespread — but often-ignored — criminal scheme.

“No one’s interested in value-added tax. It’s just not sexy enough.”

There’s an edge of exasperation in Euan Grant’s voice. Having spent most of his career as a tax and customs adviser, first in the U.K. and later for the European Union, he’s seen firsthand how lucrative value-added tax (VAT) fraud really is.

Every year, organized criminals use VAT schemes to bleed an amount equivalent to the GDP of Greece from the bloc’s budget. By far the most damaging and sophisticated of these scams is ‘carousel fraud,” which drains an estimated 50 billion euros per annum from the EU’s coffers.

But carousel fraud is diabolically difficult to explain, much less investigate and successfully prosecute. And despite the vast sums of money involved, Grant knows how hard it is to convince policy-makers of the importance of targeting this type of criminal enterprise.

“Careers today are made in terrorism; before they were made in drugs,” he said. “Carousel fraud is huge, only it never attracts the same kind of attention.”

That looked set to change in 2017, when the EU announced a new player in its fight against VAT scams and other such “crimes against the budget” in the form of the new European Public Prosecutors’ Office (EPPO). Laura Kövesi, who was appointed its first chief in October 2019, told OCCRP she expects the organisation to play a critical role in targeting cross-border tax scams that tend to fall through the cracks of the current system.

At present, national authorities in Europe are empowered only to investigate financial crime within their borders, relying on arduously complex and often slow avenues of cooperation to pursue wrongdoing further afield. It’s a crippling disadvantage, and one most VAT fraudsters seek to exploit.

“Until now, the procedures in place have been very time-consuming, and such investigations can often take two or three years. In the meantime, suspects can disappear, taking the money with them,” Kövesi said.

The EPPO’s supporters hope the new office will help public prosecutors from each member state to cooperate quickly and efficiently through a head office in Luxembourg, gathering evidence in a matter of days that can be used for prosecution in national courts.

But, after a year of warnings over inadequate funding and support, the new organization, originally due to launch this month, has yet to hire much of its staff.

The public knew he was crooked in 2009. Big banks helped him stash millions until 2017.

Despite a long record of fraud, a New Jersey con man was able to swindle hundreds of victims around the world who were promised cheap used cars.

JPMorgan Chase, America’s largest bank, helped move millions of dollars for a New Jersey con man long after he was first accused of ripping off customers looking for good deals on the used cars of their dreams.

Many borrowed from family and friends to pay car dealer Sergey Kapustin for vehicles that had been hurricane-damaged or, in some cases, didn’t even exist.

JPMorgan, a Wall Street banking giant, told the U.S. Treasury Department in 2015 that it had moved money for Kapustin, his family members and his companies, according to confidential reports filed with the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, known as FinCEN.

Two years later, U.K.-headquartered Standard Chartered Bank told FinCEN that it, too, had moved money for Kapustin, according to documents.

JPMorgan and Standard Chartered Bank helped move $9.3 million for Kapustin and his companies after he was first publicly accused of fraud in 2008, according to an analysis of the documents and other records by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists.

BuzzFeed News provided thousands of leaked FinCEN reports to ICIJ, which coordinated the efforts of more than 400 reporters in the FinCEN Files investigation. The probe revealed that banks continued to profit from moving criminals’ money after promising U.S. authorities that they would crack down on financial crime.

In reporting Kapustin’s story, ICIJ examined leaked FinCEN documents and hundreds of pages of court filings. Reporters spoke with lawyers and victims around the world.

“In my nine years as a judge, I have never seen someone so willing to lie and cheat and steal than you,” U.S. District Judge Noel L. Hillman said in 2015 during a civil case brought by victims against Kasputin.

Years later, a different U.S. federal judge jailed Kapustin for money laundering after he tricked customers in Russia and other former Soviet republics into buying used cars from the U.S. that were not delivered or were damaged by storms.

Kapustin was “cruel,” “cold” and “calculating in taking advantage of these individuals,” U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton said.

The COVID Case Con Continues

As many Americans recover from their “virtual Thanksgiving,” sharing prayers and turkey across the internet, the media is pushing their November propaganda narrative, that Dementia Joe really won the presidential election and that COVID cases are once again surging across America.

The Washington Post claims that Wuhan coronavirus cases are “skyrocketing” while the New York Times wails that “It has hit us with a vengeance.” Yet the media is oblivious, either ignorantly or deliberately, to the reality that positive tests are not the same thing as cases.

A “case” has a very specific definition, apparently beyond the intellectual realm of Wolf Blitzer or Neil Cavuto. The CDC provides a specific “case definition.” A case is not just a positive test. Instead, what is needed is "presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence." Notice the AND, meaning not simply a positive test.

The current COVID surges are positive tests, and even those are suspect, without regard to whether those who test positive are actually sick or not. I was curious about drive-by testing and last weekend gave it a whirl. It only took about 20 minutes and was free, meaning I got what I paid for. Results were promised within three days but took just over seven days to find out that I was virus free.

Given the sensitivity of the COVID PCR test, it is likely that some of those being tested, without any symptoms or exposure, will be reported as test positive and added to the case tickers running constantly on Fox News and CNN.

Merkel: Europe, China Need to Find Common Ground, EU Values Must Be Balanced With Economic Interests

On Sunday, the Financial Times outlined a draft European Commission plan for a post-Trump America and Europe to refresh their alliance and refocus their efforts to curb the “strategic challenge” said to be posed by China’s “growing international assertiveness”.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced that Europe will have to find a “balance” between the promotion of its democracy and human rights values and the economic interests of doing business with China.

“We must define our own European interests, and this includes common ground [with China] on foreign policy, on economic policy and digital policy and many more,” Merkel said, speaking to European lawmakers in a human rights issues-related videoconference on Monday.

“The challenge over the next years in relation to China lies in finding a good balance between fighting for our values and our interests,” the Chancellor added, referring to China’s immense economic power and its large consumer markets, ripe for German investors.

Merkel’s comments follow reports last week that Berlin was interested in helping large German industrial interests including automakers strengthen their ties with China amid the Asian nation’s faster-than-expected recovery from the coronavirus crisis.

According to recent data from Germany’s Federal Statistics Office, China has outpaced France in German exports by total value, and has rapidly gained on the US in the first nine months of 2020. Figures show that the Federal Republic’s exports to the People’s Republic jumped upward by 10.6 percent to 8.5 billion euros in September 2020 year-on-year, and exports to the US dropped by 5.8 percent to 9.3 billion euros during the same period. Imports from China increased 3 percent during the same period.

In October, China reported third-quarter GDP growth of 4.9 percent, a respectable showing compared with other major economies, including the US, the EU, Japan, India and Russia, who experienced declines of 2.9 percent, 4.4 percent, 4.9 percent, 7.5 percent and 3.6 percent, respectively.

Despite the optimistic German-Chinese trade trends, the Financial Times has reported that a draft plan for a post-Trump presidency put out by the European Commission is seeking to rebuild US-European ties at China’s expense, including through the strengthening of co-operation on issues ranging from the tech sector and digital regulation to the coronavirus, and ‘shared democratic principles’.

“As open democratic societies and market economies, the EU and the US agree on the strategic challenge presented by China’s growing international assertiveness, even if we do not always agree on the best way to consider this,” the draft says, according to FT.

WHO Urges Global Governments To "Manage" All Social Activity

Dr. Michael Ryan, Director of Global Alert and Response of the World Health Organization (WHO), told journalists at a press briefing on Monday that "pinch points," otherwise known as places where people gather, must be "managed."

Ryan spoke about numerous types of public areas, such as airports, public transportation, and even places like ski resorts that governments must "manage" to prevent further spreading of COVID-19.

He called on governments around the world to investigate "all forms of gatherings that lead to people congregating are moving en masse and how they are going to de-risk those processes."

Ryan said if governments don't believe those processes cannot be de-risked, governments should "curtail, postpone, and or even manage" those processes.

In other words, just like Thanksgiving - Christmas is likely canceled in the Western world.
