Netanyahu's son compares anti-government protesters to Daesh

 

Yair Netanyahu, the eldest son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has compared Israeli protesters calling for his father's resignation to Daesh.

 

In a post on Facebook, Yair uploaded a video previously released by his father's Likud Party in 2015 as part of its election campaign which showed a car carrying Daesh militants holding the group's "black flag".

 

Commenting on the video, Yair said: "I remembered where I saw the convoys carrying black flags" in reference to anti-Netanyahu protesters who travel in caravans while raising black flags to illustrate mourning democracy in Israel.

 

The video has since been removed from Facebook.

Iran Retaliation Likely After Killing of Scientist, McRaven Says

 

The retired admiral who commanded the SEAL Team 6 raid that took out Osama bin Laden described a retaliatory strike by Iran in the wake of the killing of a top nuclear scientist as all but inevitable.

 

β€œThe Iranians are going to be in a position where they have to retaliate” against either the U.S. or Israel for the Nov. 27 ambush killing of scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh outside Tehran, said retired Adm. William McRaven, a former SEAL and commander of U.S. Special Operations Command.

Dr. Fauci Issues Christmas Warning: β€˜It’s Not Too Late To Do Something About This’

The Riyadh Initiative was welcomed by the G20 summit hosted by Saudi Arabia virtually on November 21-22. It is meant to create a Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities. Saudi Arabia has pledged $10 million to support the drive.

 

Just days after, Saudi authorities announced they had arrested 226 people, including a retired major general, as part of 158 investigations into corruption within the country’s Ministry of Defence and other government agencies.

 

The kingdom’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) said on Thursday that most investigations found the suspects were involved in forgery, squandering of public funds and exploiting the influence of the public office.” Authorities believe the detainees took hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes.

 

Formal procedures are underway to return the money taken by officials working for the health, defence and finance ministries, other civil servants and a number of Saudi and foreign businessmen.

 

Saudi Arabia ranks 51 out of 198 countries on Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index.

 

The agency did not reveal any names but highlighted six of the most prominent cases. One involved 48 people, including 18 Ministry of Defence employees, who allegedly took $327 million in bribes.

 

Another involved the director of quality management at a local municipality and his two brothers who allegedly helped one contractor win a number of projects worth $453 million.

 

In a third case, a retired major general allegedly received a $2.18 million bribe in β€œcheques and cash” from three employees of a company that won a contract with the Ministry of National Guard.

 

β€œThe Authority affirms its pursuit of anyone who exploits the public office to achieve personal gain or harm the public interest in any way possible,” according to the Nazaha statement.

OCCRP spoke with the head of the new European Public Prosecutor’s Office about the challenges in fighting the widespread β€” but often-ignored β€” criminal scheme.

 

β€œNo one’s interested in value-added tax. It’s just not sexy enough.”

 

There’s an edge of exasperation in Euan Grant’s voice. Having spent most of his career as a tax and customs adviser, first in the U.K. and later for the European Union, he’s seen firsthand how lucrative value-added tax (VAT) fraud really is.

 

Every year, organized criminals use VAT schemes to bleed an amount equivalent to the GDP of Greece from the bloc’s budget. By far the most damaging and sophisticated of these scams is β€˜carousel fraud,” which drains an estimated 50 billion euros per annum from the EU’s coffers.

 

But carousel fraud is diabolically difficult to explain, much less investigate and successfully prosecute. And despite the vast sums of money involved, Grant knows how hard it is to convince policy-makers of the importance of targeting this type of criminal enterprise.

 

β€œCareers today are made in terrorism; before they were made in drugs,” he said. β€œCarousel fraud is huge, only it never attracts the same kind of attention.”

 

That looked set to change in 2017, when the EU announced a new player in its fight against VAT scams and other such β€œcrimes against the budget” in the form of the new European Public Prosecutors’ Office (EPPO). Laura KΓΆvesi, who was appointed its first chief in October 2019, told OCCRP she expects the organisation to play a critical role in targeting cross-border tax scams that tend to fall through the cracks of the current system.

At present, national authorities in Europe are empowered only to investigate financial crime within their borders, relying on arduously complex and often slow avenues of cooperation to pursue wrongdoing further afield. It’s a crippling disadvantage, and one most VAT fraudsters seek to exploit.

 

β€œUntil now, the procedures in place have been very time-consuming, and such investigations can often take two or three years. In the meantime, suspects can disappear, taking the money with them,” KΓΆvesi said.

 

The EPPO’s supporters hope the new office will help public prosecutors from each member state to cooperate quickly and efficiently through a head office in Luxembourg, gathering evidence in a matter of days that can be used for prosecution in national courts.

 

But, after a year of warnings over inadequate funding and support, the new organization, originally due to launch this month, has yet to hire much of its staff.

Taiwan's GlobalWafers in talks to buy German peer for $4.5bn

 

Taiwan's GlobalWafers, the world's third-largest maker of semiconductor wafers, said on Monday that it is in final talks to acquire German peer Siltronic AG, in a bid to expand its market share and challenge leading Japanese players. GlobalWafers plans to launch a voluntary tender offer of 125 euros per share to Siltronic's shareholders and the two companies aim to sign a "business combination agreement" in the second week of December, company spokesperson William Chen said at a press conference early Monday.

 

The deal could be worth up to 3.75 billion euros ($4.5 billion) if GlobalWafers buys all of Siltronic's outstanding shares. The German company is the world's No. 4 wafer material maker, just behind Shin-Etsu Chemical and Sumco, both of Japan, and GlobalWafers. Wafers are the substrate material on which chips are fabricated. "A combination of GlobalWafers and Siltronic would create a leading player in the industry with a comprehensive product portfolio that can offer technologically sophisticated products to all semiconductor customers globally, and brings together two companies with complementary skills which will enable the combined business to invest more in capacity expansion," Chen said.

 

GlobalWafers has a global market share of around 17%, while Siltronic's was 13% in the first quarter of 2020, according to the German company. The acquisition, which will require the approval of regulators and the boards of both companies, would put the Taiwanese company in the No. 2 spot. The world's two top silicon wafer providers currently are Shin-etsu Chemical and Sumco of Japan, which control around 33% and 25% of the market, respectively.

 

GlobalWafers Chairman and CEO Doris Hsu said later on Monday that she expects regulators to give the deal the greenlight. "Both GlobalWafers and Siltronic have consulted legal experts and we are cautiously hopeful that [the deal] will clear all the required regulatory reviews," she said. Hsu did not give any details about how the two companies intend to integrate their operations. If the deal goes through, however, it would give GlobalWafers an even broader production base, something Hsu points to as one of her company's major strengths.

 

"In an era when all companies face geopolitical uncertainties as well as the uncertainties brought by the global pandemic, business continuity plans are very important," Hsu said. "We have a diverse production footprint and that is one of our advantages." The COVID Case Con Continues

 

As many Americans recover from their β€œvirtual Thanksgiving,” sharing prayers and turkey across the internet, the media is pushing their November propaganda narrative, that Dementia Joe really won the presidential election and that COVID cases are once again surging across America.

 

The Washington Post claims that Wuhan coronavirus cases are β€œskyrocketing” while the New York Times wails that β€œIt has hit us with a vengeance.” Yet the media is oblivious, either ignorantly or deliberately, to the reality that positive tests are not the same thing as cases.

 

A β€œcase” has a very specific definition, apparently beyond the intellectual realm of Wolf Blitzer or Neil Cavuto. The CDC provides a specific β€œcase definition.” A case is not just a positive test. Instead, what is needed is "presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence." Notice the AND, meaning not simply a positive test.

 

The current COVID surges are positive tests, and even those are suspect, without regard to whether those who test positive are actually sick or not. I was curious about drive-by testing and last weekend gave it a whirl. It only took about 20 minutes and was free, meaning I got what I paid for. Results were promised within three days but took just over seven days to find out that I was virus free.

 

Given the sensitivity of the COVID PCR test, it is likely that some of those being tested, without any symptoms or exposure, will be reported as test positive and added to the case tickers running constantly on Fox News and CNN.

If there is evidence of foreign/domestic threats to our election and our rights as Americans,

I worked (in construction) at a mans house back in the 1990's who, to the best of my understanding, had one of the main hubs of the entire fucking internet routed through his house. He was/is one of the real Founding Fathers of the internet as we know it. And from what the military electricians I worked alongside with (as a journeyman representing my family business) told me was that this hub was one of the main ones in a global system that ALL internet traffic flowed through. If any of the global hubs went off… he was the guy, at the main hub, who was qualified to do the actual troubleshooting/coding to fix what was causing the problem. The house was in a secluded gated community and was very secure… even built with bulletproof glass. The man who owned the house/employed us, at the time worked for cisco systems… and has since held titles that make me believe he could really see what the fuck was being trasmitted through the network during the election process. The General contractor who we worked with for years, knew him very well, they are good Christians who met and went to the same church.

Q or Q+… get ahold of this guy if you are having problems figuring out how it all works.

Maybe he can explain things that need explaining. If you can't get ahold of him, link me a place where I should tell him to get ahold of you… I have had conversations with him through messenger and he responds to my messages/questions. On Sunday, the Financial Times outlined a draft European Commission plan for a post-Trump America and Europe to refresh their alliance and refocus their efforts to curb the β€œstrategic challenge” said to be posed by China’s β€œgrowing international assertiveness”.

 

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has announced that Europe will have to find a β€œbalance” between the promotion of its democracy and human rights values and the economic interests of doing business with China.

 

β€œWe must define our own European interests, and this includes common ground [with China] on foreign policy, on economic policy and digital policy and many more,” Merkel said, speaking to European lawmakers in a human rights issues-related videoconference on Monday.

Merkel’s comments follow reports last week that Berlin was interested in helping large German industrial interests including automakers strengthen their ties with China amid the Asian nation’s faster-than-expected recovery from the coronavirus crisis.

 

According to recent data from Germany’s Federal Statistics Office, China has outpaced France in German exports by total value, and has rapidly gained on the US in the first nine months of 2020. Democrats Are Currently Stealing a House Seat in New York

NY22 suddenly flipped to Dem by 13 votes

 

While most of the focus has been on the fraud that happened in the presidential election, it’s also worth nothing that other Republicans are also getting screwed by sketchy, late rushes of Democrat votes counted well after the election had ended. One case has become especially egregious, and it’s taking place in New York.

 

The race for NY-22 has suddenly flipped to the Democrat by 13 votes and the story behind how that happened will have you punching walls or facepalming, whichever you prefer.

 

After trailing in the polls by over 28,000 votes on election night, upstate Democratic Rep. Anthony Brindisi claimed victory Wednesday in the 22nd district over his Republican challenger β€” celebrating a slim 13-vote lead.

 

Yes, a Democrat that was losing by 28,000 votes in a district race (i.e. that’s a huge margin) has now claimed victory by 13 votes because a Democrat judge stepped in and put his stamp of approval on enough rejected ballots to make it happen. The implications here are just insane. If a single judge can decide he gets to be the arbiter of which ballots are accepted even after they were rightly rejected under the law, that opens nearly every close race up to judicial meddling.

 

In the grand scheme of things, assuming the Republican ends up losing here, one House seat isn’t a catastrophe. The GOP will still be well positioned to retake the chamber in 2022. But it sends a message that this kind of tampering is acceptable. Hopefully Claudia Tenney has some other legal recourse here, perhaps appealing this in federal court. I wouldn’t begin to assert that I know all her options at this point.

 

Regardless, this is the danger of mail in ballots and judges being allowed to nullify election law at their whim. We saw the same thing on a larger scale in Pennsylvania, where a court unilaterally decided that the election laws simply no longer applied in that state, allowing thousands of additional ballots to come in after the set deadline. Mass mail in ballots in general, at least when done in a way where they aren’t required to be in some days before the election, are also awful for the credibility of our system. How can anyone feel good or confident in the integrity of our elections when huge shifts in votes happen weeks after the fact due to late arriving and/or counted ballots?

 

Republicans control a lot of state levers of power, from governorships to state houses. They need to be wielding that power to fix this stuff. If they don’t, they can expect to be slowly weeded out by the very fraud they’ve ignored.

What is obvious from this supreme court hearing is that Trump is operating in territory never before tested under law. WHO Urges Global Governments To "Manage" All Social Activity

 

Dr. Michael Ryan, Director of Global Alert and Response of the World Health Organization (WHO), told journalists at a press briefing on Monday that "pinch points," otherwise known as places where people gather, must be "managed."

 

Ryan spoke about numerous types of public areas, such as airports, public transportation, and even places like ski resorts that governments must "manage" to prevent further spreading of COVID-19.

 

He called on governments around the world to investigate "all forms of gatherings that lead to people congregating are moving en masse and how they are going to de-risk those processes."

 

Ryan said if governments don't believe those processes cannot be de-risked, governments should "curtail, postpone, and or even manage" those processes.

 

In other words, just like Thanksgiving - Christmas is likely canceled in the Western world.

Democrats face accusations of fraud in House race after 28,000-vote lead on election night erased by judge and mail-in ballots

 

A New York congressional race came down to a judge personally reviewing individual spoiled ballots, resulting in the Democratic incumbent erasing his nearly 30,000-vote deficit to take a 13-vote lead and declaring victory. β€œIn NY-22, the Democrat incumbent was trailing by almost 30K on election night,” said Hot Air editor Jazz Shaw on Twitter. β€œThe mail-in ballots got him close. Then a Democrat judge from Syracuse ruled he would personally β€˜review’ all of the spoiled ballots that had been rejected. Brindisi trailed Republican challenger Claudia Tenney by about 28,000 votes on election night in New York’s 22nd Congressional District but closed that gap over the next few weeks to just 100-200 votes as mail-in ballots were counted. Despite Tenney’s slim lead, Owego County state Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte issued an injunction to block election officials certifying the results, setting the stage for Brindisi’s 13 vote lead. β€œBREAKING: sources on both Dem & GOP sides confirm that the final counts submitted by all 8 counties in #NY22 to NY Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte will show Rep. Anthony Brindisi (D) ahead of Claudia Tenney (R) by either 12 or 13 votes. Wow,” Cook Political Report editor Dave Wasserman said on Twitter. But Tenney’s campaign said they were not giving up the fight.

 

β€œBrindisi’s premature declaration of victory is further evidence that his team has no interest in ensuring a fair process that preserves the integrity of the election and protects the rights of voters. We will fight to ensure that all and only legal counts are counted β€” not jump to faulty conclusions,” the Tenney campaign told the New York Post. That patience paid off Monday, when the Herkimer County Board of Elections revised its final count, netting Tenney 35 votes and putting her in the lead by 12. With the razor-thin margin swinging back and forth, Wasserman doesn’t expect the result of the race to be finalized anytime soon. β€œWhiplash: now it's Claudia Tenney (R) back ahead of Rep.
