Be careful about getting behind some these measures when the whole of the comp'd political class joins in. What they really want is a breakup. Facebook will be sure to benefit from this handsomely, and the federal government will find legislative authority to heavily regulate the whole of the internet. It's a trojan horse, as is most govt regulatory enedeavors. The right stance is to either enforce section 230 and take away liability protection, or rewrite it to clarify they cannot edit content if the law is ambiguous, in addition to exposing just how these social media companies became so powerful in the first place….lifelog/CIA/outsourcing of gov't surveillance.

When that happens these companies should be ENDED, not broken up, which would just serve to further compartmentalize their proclivities and create more red tape and bureaucracy.
