I'm so glad so many are finally able to wrap their heads around the fact that Republicans, the party of neocons and Iraq War country club chickenhawks who lied you into decades-long quagmires and laughed with defense industy executives and lobbyists over cigars and gay orgies as your children died or got traumatized, are not the "good guys." You'd think it'd be obvious, but there's plenty of Trump supporters still hopelessly stuck in the red/blue paradigm.
Which is exactly what's happening right now. There's so much genuine confusion in a great many (well-intentioned, but perhaps naïve) people over the Republican establishment turning their backs on POTUS. They're genuinely shocked that someone with an [R] next to their name could possibly do something like this (despite the fact POTUS wasn't even a Republican before he decided to run for President.) It's the same with old liberal wannabe hippie types; I grew up in an environment like that and was taught [D] = good and there's no possible way that could be impossible. My mother's still like that, hopelessly stuck in the 'Red vs. Blue' mind-trap and can't even begin to fathom why Nancy Pelosi would be a terrible person.
It's very strange to watch, from either side. True cult brainwashing. I suppose I'm just lucky in that I stopped falling for it young, but it's good to see others shake it off now. Regardless of how old they are.
