Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger begged for 100 votes from the Chinese-American community. He won by 159 votes.

A petition to recall embattled California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom is picking up serious steam as the governor faces backlash over stringent coronavirus lockdown orders, a hypocritical dinner visit to the French Laundry, and an emerging unemployment scam.

As of Thursday afternoon, the petition had been signed more than 820,000 times, Rescue California representatives told Fox News. That's more than half the 1.5 million signatures needed to force a recall vote, and the group still has several more months to go to reach the requirement. The deadline for gathering signatures has been set for March 10, 2021.

Rescue California's campaign manager, Anne Dunsmore, told the news outlet that there are at least 2,000 to 3,000 active volunteers on the ground propelling the initiative forward.

"The citizen movement on this [effort] is really something to see, and you have to see it to believe it," she said of the sixth attempt to oust the governor in just under two years.

If the recall qualifies for the March ballot, California residents would simply vote yes or no as to whether Newsom should remain in office. Further down the ballot, they would cast votes for a host of ambitious Republican challengers — and perhaps even some Democrats — who either garner 65 nomination signatures and pay a roughly $4,000 filing fee, or just garner 7,000 signatures.

Reporting on the news, Politico's Carla Marinucci acknowledged that the "long shot" effort is getting "serious" and even has Newsom's team "increasingly concerned."

She pointed to several factors making the recall effort a realistic threat, one of which is that it has received backing from both local and national Republican Party figures.

Recently re-elected Rep. David Valadao reportedly confirmed the move, saying, "We all support it. Our campaign offices all had the petitions there. A lot of our events had folks there gathering signatures.''

A total of 19 members of the U.S. House are calling for immediate Congressional election integrity hearings

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) is now joined by a growing coalition of 18 Republican members of the House in his call for immediate Congressional hearings on election integrity.

National File reported on Wednesday that Rep. Brooks had written a letter to Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi, along with other Congessional leaders, demanding immediate hearings to examine the integrity of the recent federal elections.

National File can now reveal that Brooks is joined in his call by 18 other Republican House Representatives.

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), a steadfast surrogate for election integrity, who has appeared at numerous Stop the Steal rallies, was the first to publicly declare his backing of the letter in a tweet.

Gosar and Brooks will now be joined by Reps. Andy Biggs, Mike Rogers, Jim Banks, David Rouzer, Ted Budd, Lance Gooden, Brian Babin, Bob Gibbs, Ralph Norman, Greg Steube, Jody Hice, Mike Kelley, Jeff Duncan, Louie Gohmert, Randy Weber, Scott DesJarlais, and Mike Garcia.

In the letter, they note that the presidential election has been subject to “dozens” of lawsuits which “may or will be the subject of extensive floor debate” on January 6th when Congress will assess the Electoral College votes.

As Congress is “the final and ultimate judge, jury, and arbiter of all contested elections,” the letter declares that Congress must hold hearings immediately.

Following National File’s reporting of the letter on Wednesday, supporters of President Trump came out and backed the call for election integrity, including Dr Kelli Ward, the chair of the Arizona GOP, Lauren Witzke, former Senate candidate in Delaware, and Jarome Bell, candidate for Virginia’s second Congressional district.

Hunter Biden ex-associate asked to 'get Joe involved,' make it look like 'truly family business,' texts show

Text messages date back to 2017

Hunter Biden's former business associates were looking to "get Joe involved" in a joint venture with Chinese Energy Company CEFC and make the venture appear as a "truly family business" to the Chinese, according to text messages obtained and reviewed by Fox News.

In text messages dating back to 2017, Hunter's now-ex-associates James Gilliar and Tony Bobulinski discussed a breakdown of the joint venture with CEFC, the "stakes" and appeared to suggest getting the now-president-elect involved.

In a back-and-forth over the terms of the company, Gilliar, in a May 11, 2017 text message to Bobulinski, wrote: "Man U are right let's get the company set up, then tell H and family the high stakes and get Joe involved."

It is unclear how Gilliar proposed getting Biden involved. Biden repeatedly has denied being involved with his son’s business dealings.

In another exchange, Bobulinski, in a text message to Gilliar on April 30, 2017, asked, "what is the deal w Jim Biden as he wasn’t part of the discussion but now seems a focal point."

Gilliar replied: "With H demons, could be good to have a back up, he strengthens our USP to Chinese as it looks like a truly family business, and I like the dude."

"USP" in business dealings typically stands for "unique selling proposition" or "unique selling point." A source, though, said "USP" could also stand for U.S. persons.

Days earlier, in a conversation to set up a meeting with those involved, including what appeared to be high-level CEFC executives including the chairman—slated for Sunday, May 7, 2017— Gilliar asked Bobulinski to come up with an "a lister to meet chairman Sunday."

"Ok. A ‘lister’?" Bobulinski replied on May 4, 2017.

"Top person at same level as chairman, who would like to access China or money," Gilliar replied. "It’s the way it works culturally for them."

Gilliar added: "And empowers the B family so therefore us."

Gilliar replies: "For real."

Gilliar, in October, issued a statement to the Wall Street Journal "to clear up any speculation that former Vice President Biden was involved with the 2017 discussions about our potential business structure."

"I am unaware of any involvement at any time of the former Vice President," Gilliar told the Journal in October.

Gilliar did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment on the text messages appearing to reference Joe Biden.

Fox News exclusively reported in October, after obtaining text messages, that Bobulinski met with Joe Biden in early May 2017 on the sidelines of the Milken Conference in California.

Days after that meeting, Gilliar sent an email discussing "renumeration packages" for those involved in the deal. The email included a note that "Hunter [Biden] has some office expectations he will elaborate."

A proposed equity split referenced "20" for "H" and "10 held by H for the big guy?" with no further details. Bobulinski repeatedly has said "the big guy" was Joe Biden.

"Joe Biden has never even considered being involved in business with his family, nor in any overseas business whatsoever," Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates told Fox News in October. "He has never held stock in any such business arrangements nor has any family member or any other person ever held stock for him."

The investigation, according to a source familiar with the matter, began in 2018.

Smith & Wesson Sues New Jersey

Gun company accuses Dem leaders of violating First Amendment

One of the country's largest gun manufacturers has filed a federal suit accusing the state of New Jersey of violating its First Amendment rights.

Smith & Wesson sued the state Tuesday in response to a broad subpoena issued by New Jersey attorney general Gurbir Grewal (D.). The case, filed in federal district court, seeks to have the subpoena—which demanded a decade's worth of advertising and sales records—thrown out and declared unconstitutional.

"The New Jersey Attorney General has taken a series of actions to suppress Smith & Wesson's speech, and with the intention of damaging Smith & Wesson both financially and reputationally," the complaint from the company said. "The most recent such action is the issuance of an administrative subpoena … on October 13, 2020 that allegedly seeks evidence of consumer fraud relating to advertising – but in reality, it seeks to suppress and punish lawful speech regarding gun ownership in order to advance an anti-Second Amendment agenda that the Attorney General publicly committed to pursue."

Grewal's office did not respond to a request for comment.

Larry Keane, senior vice president and general counsel of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, said New Jersey's subpoena is part of a concerted effort to hobble the gun industry through frivolous court proceedings. Such probes are meant to "get to discovery" in the hopes of forcing gun companies to agree to new regulations in legal settlements, according to Keane.

"They will … try to impose through settlements [gun-control] measures they can't get passed through Congress or in the states," he told the Washington Free Beacon. "It's regulation through litigation."

Keane compared the new legal movement to one in the 1990s that tried to run up gun companies' legal bills through cases attempting to hold them responsible for the criminal acts of third parties. The extensive litigation inspired the bipartisan Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, which guaranteed liability protection to gunmakers.

William Yeatman, a research fellow at the Cato Institute's Robert A. Levy Center for Constitutional Studies, told the Free Beacon that Smith & Wesson faces an uphill battle, as state law gives Grewal a great deal of discretion in issuing subpoenas.

"In this context, New Jersey has tremendous latitude to investigate," he said. "Nevertheless, there are limits, and AGs generally aren't allowed to go on fishing expeditions, especially when constitutional rights are possibly at play."

Keane said the suit is a reminder that the gun industry will not back down from legal fights it believes are mainly intended to put gunmakers out of business.

"It is a signal to gun-control groups, the white-shoe law firms, and anti-gun politicians that the industry is not going to take this lying down any more than we did 20 years ago," he said. "We were underestimated 20 years ago and they're underestimating us now."

Swalwell refuses to answer Fox News questions on relationship with suspected Chinese spy

Swalwell has yet to explain nature of past relationship with Christine Fang

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., extended his ongoing silence over the nature of his past relationship with a suspected Chinese spy.

Ever since Axios reported that a Chinese national named Christine Fang or Fang Fang had ties to a number of political figures including Swalwell and had sexual interactions with at least two Midwestern mayors Swalwell has dodged questions about his history with her.

Fox News caught up with Swalwell outside his home Thursday and he ignored all questions, including one about Fang. This comes after his office declined to comment on the nature of their relationship beyond what they had told Axios and then ignored subsequent requests for information.

"Rep. Swalwell, long ago, provided information about this person — whom he met more than eight years ago, and whom he hasn’t seen in nearly six years — to the FBI," Swalwell's office told Axios. They added that Swalwell "will not participate" in the story out of concerns about possible classified information.

According to the Axios report, Fang and Swalwell had been linked since his days as a Dublin City, Calif. councilmember, prior to his election to Congress in 2012. According to the report, she had helped fundraise for his 2014 campaign and placed at least one intern in his office.

Investigators reportedly gave Swalwell a defensive briefing in 2015, and he cut ties with Fang soon after.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., told "Fox & Friends" that it was time for Swalwell to break his silence and tell the public the truth.

"Eric Swalwell says he's a victim in all of this. If that's the case what he should do is come forward and have a no-holds-barred press conference and explain exactly what his relationship with this Chinese spy was," Cotton, said.

ADL Smears Foes of Jihad Terror as ‘Islamophobes,’ Gets Canceled as ‘Anti-Muslim’ Anyway

Anti-Defamation League (ADL) top dog Jonathan A. Greenblatt on Wednesday penned a defensive op-ed in the Forward, complaining about the cancel culture. Has the ADL, which has strayed a considerable distance from its stated mission “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all” and trafficked eagerly in the cancel culture for years, suddenly recovered a respect for the freedom of speech and the common decency to refrain from demonizing opposing viewpoints as evil and worthy only of silencing? No, but it is getting a taste of the medicine it has dished out for so many years in stigmatizing and marginalizing foes of jihad terror, and demonstrating yet again that the Leftist elites will never be satisfied with anything but absolute compliance with their agenda.

Greenblatt begins with a strut, proclaiming that the ADL is “one of the oldest civil-rights organizations in the Jewish community,” and trying for a tone of sweet reason, insisting that “we’re not unaccustomed to criticism, even in the pages of one of America’s oldest Jewish news outlets.”

However, now something has happened that even the saintly Greenblatt can’t pass over this one with his usual manful stoicism: “But the OpEd by Salam Al-Marayati, president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council, which the Forward published on Tuesday morning, was illuminating about how certain quarters in our society desperately try to employ cancel culture to silence others.”

What was that? The organization that produces articles with titles such as “Islamophobes React to Coronavirus Pandemic with Anti-Muslim Bigotry” has discovered the evils of the cancel culture? It seems unbelievable, but true at least as far as this goes. Greenblatt continues: “In this case, the author is trying to marginalize ADL and make support for the State of Israel disqualifying in pursuing civil rights for all Americans, including the Muslim-American community. Al-Marayati argues that ADL is a source of “anti-Muslim” rhetoric and cannot be fully trusted as an ally in the fight for civil rights because of our support of the Jewish state.” Greenblatt whines that it is a “common tactic in a smear campaign” to “narrow down a broader argument…into a singular, unfounded allegation.”

Oh, you mean like claiming that “American anti-Muslim ideologues are propagating a range of conspiracies aimed at stoking fear, claiming Muslims are defying social distancing rules and/or actively trying to spread the virus”? There are so many unfounded allegations in the ADL article that even al-Marayati would stand in awe. First there is the ADL’s smearing of foes of jihad violence and Sharia oppression as “anti-Muslim ideologues.” Then there is the characterization of the reporting of news stories as “propagating a range of conspiracies aimed at stoking fear.” Then there is the smearing of me as a “leading Islamophobe and right-wing conspiracy theorist,” which is the kind of language that precludes any honest discussion or debate out of hand, for the target has been prima facie ruled out of the bounds of acceptable discourse.

Supreme Court Is Purposefully Delaying and Slow Walking Sidney Powell Emergency Petitions – State Responses Not Due Till January 14

How many more different layers of corruption do the American people have to endure before their President is rightfully recognized as the winner of the 2020 election?

Federal judge throws out GOP Georgia lawsuit that aimed to remove absentee ballot drop boxes

On the third day into early voting for Georgia’s side-by-side U.S. Senate runoff elections, a federal judge Thursday dismissed a case brought by Republicans that sought to scrap absentee ballot drop boxes, Fox News reports, saying that fraud concerns at this stage in the runoffs are “highly speculative.”

In the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, centered in Augusta, a federal judge dismissed the lawsuit brought by the 12th Congressional District Republican Committee. The plaintiffs had no standing, the judge said, and also saying that courts shouldn’t alter election rules so close to an election, according to Fox News.

Both of Georgia’s January 5 races are key to Democrats and Republicans post-2020 election political efforts. If Democrats sweep both seats, they would have 50 of the 100 seats in the Senate and have Vice President-elect Kamala Harris as the tie-breaking vote, which would make confirming President-elect Joe Biden‘s Cabinet nominees easier for them. On the other end, Republicans want to maintain their slim majority, fearing that Democratic victories in the Peach State could allow for Biden to successfully appoint officials farther to the left of the Democratic establishment.

While absentee voting has been happening for a couple of weeks in the state, early in-person voting at polling stations commenced on Monday. More than 900,000 Georgians have already voted in the dual races, according to the state’s latest data, with 427,000 of those votes being cast through absentee ballots.

The thrown-out case alleged that procedures used to process absentee ballots during November’s general election–such as signature matching and ballot drop boxes–could open the door for widespread fraud in the runoffs, Fox News reports.

On top of that, the lawsuit also asked that local election officials be forbidden from opening ballot envelopes prior to January 5. Additionally, per Fox News, the suit also sought to discredit guidance from the Secretary of State’s Office on the correct way officials needed to verify signatures on absentee ballots.

Chief Judge Randall Hall, who was nominated to the federal bench by Republican President George W. Bush, found the plaintiff’s allegations of voter fraud “highly speculative.”

“I have real concerns about whether this court […]should even entertain this action at this point,” said Hall. “[…]Fraud concerns at this stage are all highly speculative.”

“We are not even on the eve of an election,” Hall said in striking down the case. “We are, as it relates to this particular election, closing in on halftime.”

This case is the latest in a series of failed attempts from Republicans to challenge the election results and rules in key swing states after November 3. Despite a massive but doomed lawsuit being thrown out of the U.S. Supreme Court on Friday and the Electoral College officially elected Biden to be the next president, President Donald Trump refuses to concede and continues to allege that widespread election fraud occurred, repeatedly claiming that the election was stolen.

21 Face Federal Charges In Bust Of ‘Astonishing’ Drug Ring At UNC, Duke, App State

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Twenty-one people face federal charges as a result of a lengthy investigation into the sale of narcotics on or near college campuses in North Carolina.

While working a drug case several years ago, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received information about the sale of illegal drugs on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). In November 2018, agents and officers assigned to the DEA’s Raleigh District Office initiated an investigation into the distribution of cocaine hydrochloride and other illegal drugs in the Chapel Hill area. It became clear early in the investigation that illegal drug distribution occurred at or near some UNC fraternal organization properties. Court filings to date specifically allege illegal drug activity involving the UNC chapters of Phi Gamma Delta, Kappa Sigma, and Beta Theta Pi occurring between 2017 and the spring of 2020.

Over the course of several years, the drug ring funneled over a thousand pounds of marijuana, several hundred kilograms of cocaine, and significant quantities of other drugs into these college campuses. Estimates of the total drug proceeds are not presently available, but they exceeded 1.5 million dollars.

According to documents filed in court, investigators utilized information from cooperating sources and cooperating defendants, and investigative methods such as controlled purchases, undercover purchases, financial investigation, surveillance, and analysis of electronic devices. Ultimately, investigators discovered that individuals were shipping cocaine from California via the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) and transporting marihuana by motor vehicle. Involved parties shipped bulk cash proceeds from illegal drug transactions through the USPS. Other proceeds, estimated to be approximately 1.3 million dollars, transferred hands through financial institutions utilizing money orders, Western Union, and mobile payment applications.

One primary supplier was the first person charged as a result of the investigation, Francisco Javier Ochoa, Jr., age 27, of Turlock, CA, who was indicted in November 2019 for conspiracy to distribute 5 kilograms or more of cocaine and conspiracy to distribute 100 kilograms or more of marijuana. According to documents filed in court, from March 2017 until March 22, 2019, Ochoa supplied approximately 200 pounds of marihuana and two kilograms of cocaine weekly to a cooperating defendant in Orange County. Law enforcement operations at locations associated with the subject in Carrboro and Hillsborough resulted in seizure of 148.75 pounds of marihuana, 442 grams of cocaine, 189 Xanax pills, steroids, human growth hormone, other narcotics, and approximately $27,775.00 in U.S. currency. The investigation revealed that payment for drugs was made using Venmo and by sending cash through the U.S. mail. Ochoa pleaded guilty to the indictment On November 24, 2020, he was sentenced to 73 months imprisonment, 5 years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $250,000 forfeiture judgment.

The distribution of hard drugs was pervasive in and around certain fraternities. Illustrations of the type of activity, taken from court documents, include:

A cooperating defendant (CD2) described regularly supplying cocaine to “Chase” (later identified as defendant Charles Poindexter), who sold only to fraternity members. CD2 said he felt safe doing so because most transactions took place at the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity house behind closed doors. CD2 also stated that most drug transactions occurred around fraternity events, and bigger events required larger amounts of narcotics. In an interview, Poindexter admitted to purchasing cocaine, marihuana, and “molly” (MDMA) from CD2, and stated that all 22 members of his fraternity pledge class “went in” to purchase an ounce of cocaine for spring break in his sophomore year.

A little-known government program provides benefits to people who can prove they suffered serious injury from a vaccine.

That program rarely pays, covering just 29 claims over the last decade.

If you experience severe side effects after getting a Covid vaccine, lawyers tell CNBC there is basically no one to blame in a U.S. court of law.

The federal government has granted companies like Pfizer and Moderna immunity from liability if something unintentionally goes wrong with their vaccines.

“It is very rare for a blanket immunity law to be passed,” said Rogge Dunn, a Dallas labor and employment attorney. “Pharmaceutical companies typically aren’t offered much liability protection under the law.“

You also can’t sue the Food and Drug Administration for authorizing a vaccine for emergency use, nor can you hold your employer accountable if they mandate inoculation as a condition of employment.

Congress created a fund specifically to help cover lost wages and out-of-pocket medical expenses for people who have been irreparably harmed by a “covered countermeasure,” such as a vaccine. But it is difficult to use and rarely pays. Attorneys say it has compensated less than 6% of the claims filed in the last decade.

Immune to lawsuits

In February, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar invoked the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act. The 2005 law empowers the HHS secretary to provide legal protection to companies making or distributing critical medical supplies, such as vaccines and treatments, unless there’s “willful misconduct” by the company. The protection lasts until 2024.

That means that for the next four years, these companies “cannot be sued for money damages in court” over injuries related to the administration or use of products to treat or protect against Covid.

HHS did not respond to CNBC’s request for an interview.

Dunn thinks a big reason for the unprecedented protection has to do with the expedited timeline.

“When the government said, ‘We want you to develop this four or five times faster than you normally do,’ most likely the manufacturers said to the government, ‘We want you, the government, to protect us from multimillion-dollar lawsuits,’” said Dunn.

Therefore, no one would find out that allergic reactions to the vaccine are a MAJOR danger.

Twitter Says It Will REMOVE All Posts Claiming Vaccines Can Harm People

Despite widespread reports of health workers having allergic reactions to Pfizer shot

Twitter has declared that it will remove all posts that suggest there are any “adverse impacts or effects of receiving vaccinations,” despite reports already emerging of health workers getting sick from taking Pfizer’s coronavirus shot.

Twitter announced that beginning next week it will memory-hole any posts that “invoke a deliberate conspiracy” or “advance harmful, false, or misleading narratives” about vaccines.

“Using a combination of technology and human review, we will begin enforcing this updated policy on December 21, and expanding our actions during the following weeks,” the company proclaimed.

Twitter added that it will be monitoring posts about vaccinations “in close consultation with local, national, and global public health authorities around the world.”

The tech company will also wipe any posts that suggest vaccines “are used to intentionally cause harm,” or “control populations,” or are “unnecessary.”

The statement also notes that posts will be scrubbed if they contain “false claims which have been widely debunked about the adverse impacts or effects of receiving vaccinations.”

Exactly what “debunked” means was not clarified. Presumably it means any claims about vaccines that Twitter disagrees with.

The New York Times and others reported Wednesday that healthcare workers in Alaska have been hospitalized with a serious allergic reaction after taking Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine.

The development follows reports last week from Britain where some healthcare workers reported serious allergic reactions to the vaccine, prompting Britain’s medical regulator to issue a warning people with a history of allergies not to take the shot.
