Congressman Thomas Massie Joins Kennedy 12/16/2020: Ross Ulbricht & Patriot Act Repeal
In case you missed it, I was a guest on Fox Business's "Kennedy" on 12/16/2020. We discussed why Ross Ulbricht should receive clemency from President Trump and the legislation I introduced with Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard that repeals the PATRIOT Act.
Ulbricht's sentence is the greatest violation of the Eighth Amendment that I'm aware of in the United States today. The Eighth Amendment prohibits the federal government from exacting cruel and unusual punishment. What Ulbricht did from a computer screen does not deserve two life sentences plus 40 years without the chance of parole. That's ridiculous.
