See here's the thing, I totally agree with that being the most likely…but I am humble enough to admit I cannot know 100%. I've been wrong about what I was so sure of before.

I mean, yes I'm 99.99% sure Snowden is a traitor, but I can't say 100% for two main reasons, well three:

 

  1. Brennan attacked Snowden and called him a traitor. While it would be a fallacy to deduce from this is that it 'logically' proves Snowden is a whitehat, the fact Brennan is attacking him raises at least some questions;

  2. Snowden is still alive. Protected by Russia? The same country the entire deep state has been targeting as enemy #1?

  3. Snowden was likely not acting on his own. Is it impossible for Snowden to have been a double DOUBLE agent, used to trap his handlers, so in a way he's neither white hat nor blackhat? Again, I am not saying I am making this conclusion, I am just imagining HOW MY 99.99% BELIEF COULD BE WRONG.

 

I've been wrong before, and I cannot yet ABSOLUTELY REFUTE the possibility Snowden was presented as 'the' traitor by Q so as to make the deep state believe Snowden wasn't 'turned'.

 

To be sure I would not be surprised or shocked if Snowden isn't pardoned. It would just make me 99.9999% sure he's for real exclusively a blackhat.

 

I'm just keeping SOME skepticism given I do not have Q clearance.

 

The world isn't going to hell just because I'm not 100% sure. The world will be the same whether I believe 99.99% or 100%. It's not like your safety or anyone's safety hinges on my stating 100% certainty over 99.99% .

 

Just want to hedge my bets because I accept the possibility I could be wrong about something 'so obvious'.

SEN. RAND PAUL (R-KY): If he's confident he should leave in place the U.S. attorney who is investigating Hunter Biden. There is a U.S. attorney in Delaware doing this.

 

Traditionally, when a new president comes in they fire all the U.S. attorneys. If he wants to show that this is going to be an upright, upstanding Biden administration and that they're going to actually let the cards lie where the cards lie on Hunter Biden, he needs to leave that U.S. attorney in place. And that's something, very carefully, to watch.

 

If the U.S. attorney is fired in the first weeks of the administration, and if the investigation goes to a Biden appointee, you can tell the fix is in and there's not going to be justice.

 

But, Hunter Biden deserves the same justice that Paul Manafort got. Nothing less, nothing more.

The U.S. nuclear weapons agency and at least three states were hacked as part of a suspected Russian cyber attack that struck a number of federal government agencies.

 

The Energy Department and its National Nuclear Security Administration, which maintains America’s nuclear stockpile, were targeted as part of the larger attack, according to a person familiar with the matter. An ongoing investigation has found the hack didn’t affect β€œmission-essential national security functions,” Shaylyn Hynes, a Department of Energy spokeswoman, said in a statement.

 

β€œAt this point, the investigation has found that the malware has been isolated to business networks only,” Hynes said. The hack of the nuclear agency was reported earlier by Politico.

 

In addition, two people familiar with the broader government investigation into the attack said three states were breached, though they wouldn’t identify the states. A third person familiar with the probe confirmed that states were hacked but didn’t provide a number.

 

In an advisory Thursday that signaled the widening alarm over the the breach, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said the hackers posed a β€œgrave risk” to federal, state and local governments, as well as critical infrastructure and the private sector. The agency said the attackers demonstrated β€œsophistication and complex tradecraft.”

 

While President Donald Trump has yet to publicly address the hack, President-elect Joe Biden issued a statement Thursday on β€œwhat appears to be a massive cybersecurity breach affecting potentially thousands of victims, including U.S. companies and federal government entities.”

 

Biden’s Pledge

 

β€œI want to be clear: My administration will make cybersecurity a top priority at every level of government – and we will make dealing with this breach a top priority from the moment we take office,” Biden said, pledging to impose β€œsubstantial costs on those responsible for such malicious attacks.”

 

Russia has denied any involvement in the attack.

 

Hynes, the Department of Energy spokeswoman, said that efforts were immediately taken to mitigate the risk from the hack, including disconnecting software β€œidentified as being vulnerable to this attack.”

 

Although many details are still unclear, the hackers are believed to have gained access to networks by installing malicious code in a widely used software program from SolarWinds Corp., whose customers include government agencies and Fortune 500 companies, according to the company and cybersecurity experts. The departments of Homeland Security, Treasury, Commerce and State were breached, according to a person familiar with the matter.

 

β€œThis is a patient, well-resourced, and focused adversary that has sustained long duration activity on victim networks,” the cybersecurity agency said in its bulletin.

In case you missed it, I was a guest on Fox Business's "Kennedy" on 12/16/2020. We discussed why Ross Ulbricht should receive clemency from President Trump and the legislation I introduced with Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard that repeals the PATRIOT Act.

 

Ulbricht's sentence is the greatest violation of the Eighth Amendment that I'm aware of in the United States today. The Eighth Amendment prohibits the federal government from exacting cruel and unusual punishment. What Ulbricht did from a computer screen does not deserve two life sentences plus 40 years without the chance of parole. That's ridiculous.

Historical Context

 

Coercive Activities

One thing that has not been much noted in recent years is that malign foreign influence in our elections has been a concern since the Founding of our Republic. Using the 3C’s framework, I want to start with coercive activities.

 

Going all the way back in 1787, when the Founders were debating the merits of β€œour new Constitution,” Thomas Jefferson told John Adams that he was β€œapprehensive of foreign interference, intrigue, influence.” Adams too worried that β€œas often as elections happen, the danger of foreign influence recurs.” Nine years later, the two squared off in the first contested presidential election in American history.

 

Covert or Deceptive Activities

Since the twentieth century, as the United States evolved into a superpower, malign foreign influence has been less about coercion and more about deceptive or covert efforts, meaning that the foreign government has tried to disguise or conceal its role. In the 1930s, Nazi Germany directed an extensive underground effort to influence U.S. public opinion. One German agent, for example, entered the United States claiming to be a clergyman and used Nazi funds to take over small, established newspapers and civic organizations until he was indicted for failing to register as a foreign agent and fled the country as a fugitive. Congress responded to these and similar activities by enacting the Foreign Agents Registration Act in 1938, which requires disclosure of foreign influence activities. The Justice Department successfully prosecuted some of Germany’s β€œmost useful American agents” who tried to hide their activities.

 

Corrupt Activities

So let me turn to the third β€œC” of malign foreign influence: corrupt measures to influence elections. One attempt was apparently made in 1968, when, according to, the Soviet ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Dobrynin, β€œthe top Soviet leaders took an extraordinary step, unprecedented in the history of Soviet-American relations,” and ordered him to offer Vice President and Democratic nominee Hubert Humphrey’s campaign secret financial aid. But when Dobrynin asked Humphrey about his campaign’s financial state, Humphrey replied that it β€œwas more than enough for him to have Moscow’s good wishes,” and Dobrynin did not formally convey the offer. Six years later, Congress made it illegal for foreign nationals to make campaign contributions.

 

Comparisons with Current Media and Technologies

 

So malign foreign influence efforts in our elections has been a perennial problem. But though the general threat isn’t novel, some of the challenges we’re facing now are different. As President Trump put it in Executive Order 13848: β€œIn recent years, the proliferation of digital devices and internet-based communications has created significant vulnerabilities and magnified the scope and intensity…”

 

The 2020 Landscape

 

At this point, I want to touch briefly on the current threat landscape as we head toward Election Day. The department of Justice, DHS, and other federal agencies, have engaged in an unprecedented level of coordination with and support to all 50 states and numerous local officials to ensure that their election infrastructure is secure. We have yet to see any activity intended to prevent voting or to change votes, and we continue to think that it would be extraordinarily difficult for foreign adversaries to change vote tallies.

 

Advice from Our Predecessors

 

First, we just need to be aware that malign foreign influence efforts have always existed and they still do. It’s one of the warnings that President George Washington shared when he counseled Americans that β€œagainst the insidious wiles of foreign influence … the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake.”

 

Second, this means we should not take information from foreign governments or questionable sources at face value. Information from countries or regions that have a history of propaganda, should be taken with β€œa grain of salt,” if not β€œtwo and then three grains,” as President Franklin Roosevelt said. We’ve been warning the public that β€œsome foreign governments” have a track record of spreading fabricated stories, disinformation, and propaganda to try to shape voter perceptions, and the Intelligence Community continues to share information about what those governments are doing in 2020. All Americans can control what information they rely on and can exercise care by evaluating that information with a critical eye.
