Europe started cutting the branch it sat on in the seventies with agreements with arab countries: oil for migration, sort of.

All went downhill from there. The cabal could have easily won as we got cooked slowly like frogs in a pot. Things didn't go as fast as they wanted maybe, they thought it necessary to engage warp drive and unleash the migrant tsunami.
