James Atterholt (b. May 14, 1962) is the former chairman of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. He was appointed to the position by Governor Eric Holcomb (R) on February 9, 2017, to succeed Carol Stephan, who retired from the commission on January 1, 2017.[1][2] Atterholt retired from the commission on January 12, 2018.[3]

Atterholt previously served on the commission from June 2009 until his appointment as chief of staff for Gov. Mike Pence (R) in May 2014
