verifiable fact: fake accounts were indeed being created en masse and this led the parler team to shut off registration
but the rest of the story of the hack (the scraper) sounds like cover for an inside job clown op to dump the database
it was either pre-planned (info about vulns leaked in advance so scripts, docker image, etc could be prepared to go live immediately after twilio shut off service) or just a cover story for the clown dump
and the original mistake of defaulting to opening the whole kingdom when the 3p auth provider is down, is so terrible that it stinks of an inside job
