After WhatsApp updated its terms and privacy policies, most of us realised the little control we have over our data, and the only way we could protect it was by letting go of a service that connects us to hundreds of others.

But what if you had control over what data you want to let go and what data you want to keep safe? In this data-hungry world something like this sounds too good to be true, but the creator of the internet, Tim Berners-Lee, has developed a platform that would allow users to do just that.

On an enterprise level, Solid offers these Pods on a server managed by Solid. The developers will have to develop apps using Solid SDK to access data from the Pods – data that has been permitted to be shared, for example paying taxes or accessing old medical files.

According to a report by the New York Times, Solid is working with the National Health Service on a pilot project for care of dementia patients that offers caregivers access to a wider view of a patient’s well-being, preferences etc.

Each patient has a Solid pod with an ‘All About Me’ form that’s submitted either by a patient or their authorised relative. It could list basic requests like help for tying shoelaces or going to the bathroom or information on how to comfort a patient when they’re in distress. As of now, the project has enlisted 50 patients in the Manchester region which will be evaluated in a few months.

In the end, it all depends on which app developers are ready to adopt this novel data-control mechanism, but if it does become mainstream, it could go a long way in helping preserve user data and keep it safe from being misused.

With rising mistrust in big tech platforms like Facebook, Amazon, Google and others, and increasing awareness of people to have more control over what they share with online companies in exchange of free service, Tim Berners-Lee's "Pods" concept could be a fresh start in the Internet empowering people all over the globe and not just take them for a ride.

It's just one thing no one has ever gotten down to be able to explain it. I want to figure this one out concretely.

We always have two injuries, bruising on the outer socket and extreme redness/abrasion on the eye. Actual injury could be ruled in as a result of any of the others listed.

Bruising from Botox is not very prevalent. It happens, but it's slight. You can see that on the Kim Kardashian image there, and that's a more severe case. If it was drug related, there would only be incentive to inject once through the socket, thus not causing the same amount of damage we see.

The eye bruising takes place on both eyes. On some, it's extremely heavy and the bruising varied. If it was a ritual, you'd probably see a similarity in the bruising. You can see on Bush Junior there that there looks to be a needle point on the injury, but it's nowhere near Phillip's.

The "hack" story from lb reads more like liberal script kiddie fanfiction than anything else. While the attack vector described is potentially plausible, the attack scope and scale seems rather exaggerated. Propagating new accounts "by the millions" across a server network and then using them for downloading all of the data using a botnet would radically exceed the infrastructure capabilities of parler unless performed over weeks, and surely someone would notice the admin account growth.

This would also assume the admin accounts were created in the same way user accounts were and the process was the same.

Again, you might be able to use it on a small scale, but the large operation indicated by the post would immediately trigger alerts at any NOC. I've been among people who are remote administrators and watched even small scale web operations up close. What is described in that post would simply not succeed to the degree implied.

Larry Rendell Brock, of Texas, was charged with one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Brock was arrested today in Texas.

It is alleged that Brock was identified as one of the individuals who unlawfully entered the U.S. Capitol wearing a green helmet, green tactical vest with patches, black and camo jacket, and beige pants holding a white flex cuff, which is used by law enforcement to restrain and/or detain subjects.

Eric Gavelek Munchel, of Tennessee, was charged with one count of knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and one count of violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. Munchel was arrested today in Tennessee.

It is alleged that Munchel was inside of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. Photos depicting his presence show a person who appears to be Munchel carrying plastic restraints, an item in a holster on his right hip, and a cell phone mounted on his chest with the camera facing outward, ostensibly to record events that day.
