WHAT TO DO

 

**Grab The Paste from the Current Thread / Previous Baker

  • A Pastebin or Ghostbin link is usually found in the last bakers post of the OP.

  • Paste the contents/batter/dough into your text editor.

  • Notepad is good, Notepad++ is a bakers dream as you can have multiple tabs open. Free download and open source.

  • MSWord or similar isn’t good as it messes the formatting. Best to use a plain text editor.

  • IMPORTANT: If it's a ghostbin link, click 'view raw' at the top and copy from there as otherwise formatting is lost.

**Get Your Image Ready

  • Download the General image (vets have it saved and always to hand).

  • In image editor, change one pixel on it or make a scribble on the white area.

  • Save as a new image. Naming it the next thread number is useful.

Your New Thread Freezes While Posting

  • Upon clicking 'New Thread' to create your new thread, the page sticks on 'posting' forever.

  • If this happens, open up a new tab, open the catalog, press ctrl&F5 together to refresh the page, look for your new thread.

  • It will probably be there somewhere in the top two rows. If so, click to open it up and reply from there. Close your frozen 'posting' tab.

  • If it's not there, start from scratch.

 

You Name The Thread With The Incorrect Number

  • If you do this, you're a faggot who didn't quadruple check. No worries.

  • Let the BO know and ask them to rename it.

  • On your first top post of the thread, beside the thread title, click on the triangle and 'report'.

  • Type in 'BO, please rename as #444. TY, Baker'. BO will rename soon and let you know in the thread.

  • Make a clear announcement as soon as you can in the thread to stop any complaints -

Handing Over

Recently shutdown social media app Parler is at the center of a yet another controversy, after allegations surfaced that the totality of its users' personal data was leaked in the wake of the network going offline.

Parler, a social network popular with conservative audiences, was removed from the internet on Monday, after Amazon kicked the site off its hosting service, citing"a steady increase in this violent content" in the wake of Wednesday's riot at the US Capitol. The decision to pull support came after Apple and Google blocked the social network from their online marketplaces over the weekend.

 

Shortly before Amazon's move, a self-described hacker from Austria, going by 'Donk Enby' on Twitter, claimed to have gained access to all of the "unprocessed, raw" video files uploaded to Parler "with all associated metadata." The hacker even included a link to the file library in order to prove that the data leak was real.

 

A Reddit user named 'BlueMountainDace' claimed to have the answer, and they posted it in the group 'ParlerWatch,' which appears to have been created to monitor some of the perceived extreme views of the platform's users.

 

According to 'BlueMountainDace', it was not just the videos, but the entirety of Parler's users' data that was exposed.

 

In their viral post, the Redditor asserted that one of Parler's hosting platforms, Twilio, accidentally exposed the app's security authentications via a press release. This in turn could have allowed any person to create a blank administrator account and access all of Parler's private content, which, besides message history and geo data, might have included users' driver's license photos, which were used to create a verified account.

 

Currently it is unclear which press release by Twilio might have led to the Parler data being exposed.

And while the Washington Post clumsily attempts to blame President Trump for the violence – despite the President calling for β€œpeaceful” protests and the β€œcheering on” of Congressmen – their own article admits the β€œfirst wave of protesters arrived at the Capitol about 12:40pm.”

 

President Trump’s speech didn’t conclude until 1:11pm, and with at least a 45-minute walk between the two locations with crowd-related delays, that would put the first people from Trump’s speech at Capitol Hill no earlier than 1:56pm – a full hour and sixteen minutes after troublemakers arrived.

 

In fact, rioters who breached the perimeter would have had to leave before Trump’s speech even began (at 12pm precisely) to make it in time for the events as they are detailed by authorities.

 

The Washington Post also states: β€œSund’s outer perimeter on the Capitol’s west side was breached within 15 minutes,” meaning the Capitol was breached over an hour before Trump speech attendees could have even begun to arrive.

 

This correlates with Sund’s interview, where he admits: β€œI realized at 1pm, things aren’t going well… I’m watching my people getting slammed.”

 

Again, 1pm would have been a full 56-minutes before any Trump speech-attendees could have begun arriving, let alone breaching the perimeter and clashing with police. Downtown Washington, D.C. roads were closed. There was no way of arriving faster, let alone before the President had finished speaking.

 

At 1:09pm, still before the President had finished speaking, Sund called the Sergeants-at-arms of the House and Senate. He told them it was time to call in the National Guard. He even said he wanted an emergency declaration. Both, however, said they would β€œrun it up the chain” and get back to him.

 

At 1:50pm the Capitol itself was breached. Still before most Trump speech attendees could have arrived.

 

What happened after this point was a back and forth over hours between D.C. officials, Army officials, and Capitol police.

 

Eventually – at past 5pm – the National Guard arrived.

 

And while Sund is quoted in the Washington Post as blaming President Trump’s speech for the violence that ensued – the timeline means that makes no sense.

 

The President’s fans are not known for leaving his speeches 5 or 10 minutes in. And by the time the Capitol was breached, those who had stayed to listen to even the first 15 minutes would not have even made it there in time.

Right now the most compelling β€œevidence” is an explanation of the actual exploit (not scrape) used by Reddit user β€œBlueMountainDace” posted to the β€œParlerWatch” subreddit.

 

β€œ Here is a description of what went down according to someone with far greater technical knowledge than me:

 

"so a group of developers latched onto the Press Release that Twilio put out at midnight last night. In that Press Release, Twilio accidentally revealed which services Parler was using. Turns out it was all of the security authentications that were used to register a user. This allowed anyone to create a user, and not have to verify an email address, and immediately have a logged-on account.

 

Well, because of that access, it gave them access to the behind the login box API that is used to deliver content ALL CONTENT (parleys, video, images, user profiles, user information, etc) . But what it also did was revealed which USERS had "Administration" rights, "Moderation" rights.

 

Well, then what happened, those user accounts that had Administration rights to the entire platform… The hackers, internet warriors, call it what you will, was able to use the forgot password link to change the password. Why? Because Twilio was no longer authenticating emails. This meant, they'd get directly to the reset password screen of that Administration user.

 

This group of Internet Warriors then used that account, to create a handful of other ADMINISTRATION accounts, and then created a script that ended up creating MILLIONS of fake administration accounts.

 

Now that they had a way of creating admin accounts without interruption, they created a Docker Image (basically a virtual machine) called a Warrior, that anyone could download, and when fired up, would immediately start collecting data off of Parlre, in a coordinated fashion.

 

Consider it like SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) that people used to load up as screen savers when their computers were not being used. Same concept, crowdsourcing.

 

All of this data, the videos, the images, the posts, the metadata (including the GEO location of all images and videos, and the connections to the accounts that posted it, has been (since midnight) being uploaded to various cloud drives and storage arrays for the purposes of Archiving this information, for later retrieval by law enforcement, by the public, by Open Source Intelligence communities.

 

And the kicker.. is this: all of this information was thought to be secure and private by individuals who were making the posts. A significant number of those individuals went through the process of being a "Verified Citizen" on Parler. What does that mean?

 

It means they uploaded a picture of the front and back of their REAL State Driver's License…….. Let that sink in for a second.

 

I am positive the FBI has been actively soaking in this information along with the Internet Warriors, but this is how they are going to officially track down.

 

And it's how the FBI, DHS, and FAA have been able to immediately and exhaustively create no-fly lists. Every verified attendee of the Capitol riot where they can find a real name has been placed on No-Fly Lists.

 

It might seem like a small geeky glitch or hack.. but in the age of Information warfare… this is the silver bullet for the people who used Parler as a place to organize their efforts.

 

Also, a lot of posts were deleted by Parler members after the riots on the 6th. Turned out… Parler didn't actually delete anything.. just set a bit as deleted.
