The congresswoman described being terrified for her life during the storming of the capitol.

She called for Republican politicians to be held accountable and accused members of the GOP of using "the tactics of abusers" by "encouraging" rioters.

"I'm not going to let it happen to me again. I'm not going to let it happen to the people victimised by the situation again, and I'm not going to let it happen to our country," she said.

Ms Ocasio-Cortez condemned Republican calls to move on from the incident, in which five died and dozens of police were injured.

"The reason I'm getting emotional in this moment is because these folks who tell us to move on, that it's not a big deal, that we should forget what's happened, or even telling us to apologise, these are the same tactics of abusers," she said.

Vatican State has its own criminal system based on the former Italian criminal code (called “Zanardelli Code”, issued in 1889). Art 331 (1) ofthis code provides that the age of consent is set at 12 years old, but according to Art. 331 (2) when there is a relationship of dependence (like teacher/student/ etc.) the age of consent is 15 years.

This law applies to criminal suspects arrested in Vatican City. Whereas, if a sexual offence occurs in Vatican State but the suspect is arrested in Italy, he/she is tried under Italian criminal law, based on Italian Criminal code called “Rocco Code”, issued in 1930. According to article 609 quarter of this code, the age of consent is set at 14 years old or 16 years old if there is a relation of dependence. There is an exception to this rule: having sexual intercourse with a partner aged 13 doesn’t constitutes a sexual offence only if the age difference between the two individuals is not more than 3 years.

FBI evidence detailing payment to former UN official by Chau Chak Wing tabled in Parliament

A federal Liberal MP has tabled an FBI case file on Chinese-Australian businessman and political donor Chau Chak Wing detailing his alleged involvement in a United Nations bribery scandal.

A 172-page FBI file concerning Dr Chau was tabled on Tuesday afternoon, the first sitting day of Parliament in 2021

According to the Liberal MP who tabled the documents Dr Chau made a payment to a UN official to get him to appear at a conference

Goldstein MP Tim Wilson told Parliament that Dr Chau has sued journalists over accusations that he paid a $200,000 bribe to John Ashe, a former and allegedly corrupt UN chief.

"In presenting these documents it is my intention simply to allow their scrutiny," Mr Wilson said.

"The best antidote, deputy Speaker, against those who seek to influence our political system, and of course our universities and other important institutions that are the lifeblood of our democracy, is sunshine," he said.

"Let the light in."
