You have to Unnderstand that these people need to feel ABOVE you, BETTER than you and that means viewing you as less than them in the food chain.

Firstly as SLAVES.

If yu are a SLAVE you are a lesser being, below them

From a preditor POV they need to see themselves as the prime predator

 

Therefore if they can HUNT and KILL you and EAT you they are the ALPHA PREDATOR
