Ok, newfag, I'll try to explain it in detail so you'll understand.

In this case, "bread" is the original post (OP) to start…a new bread. Technically, "bread" = thread, so the "bread" actually also refers to the entire thread, but in Baker terminology it refers to the OP…because that's where every bread starts.

What you're asking about wrt "dough" is more accurately called the "dough post", which is where the Baker posts the file for the dough.

In between the OP and the dough post, you have undoubtedly seen the posts with the Notables, the Tools and Archives, Other Research Threads, etc. Correct?

Notice how the Notables are always updated from the last bread, the common information stays the same (Tools, etc) and the newly made bread "always" is updated (with a few occasional hiccups when we don't have a Baker, etc)?

'''That's the dough.'

That's the dough. The "dough" is a pastebin file which contains formatted information, ready to post, already divided to stay within character limits for each post, which is used as the basis to make the next dough. The Baker updates the dough as the bread is filled up with posts, the Baker and sometimes Notetaker anons select Notables and add those to the existing pastebin (the file is opened with Notepad or other text app and existing Notables are moved down one place in the Notables list, eventually moving into just a single link status. This is the process which creates the dough for the next upcoming bread. Around 700 posts or so, the Baker takes the now updated dough and makes a new OP (aka "bakes a new bread").

Then that updated dough pastedbin file is posted right after all the other pre-formatted posts.

Got it?

Baking in and of itself isn't the hard part; the hard part is keeping up with the things being posted in the existing bread and trying to sort out what'sNotable, and what ain't.

Not something I can really do, myself. If called upon, though, I can at least grab the last dough and e-bake which anons have to do from time to time to keep things going.

Final point. DO NOT POST UNTIL EITHER THE BAKER POSTS THE DOUGH POST, OR TELLS YOU IT'S OK TO SHITPOST

That is called "shitting the bread", it's discourteous in the extreme to all anons and you're likely to be filtered for it out of hand, because you're a dick (even if you didn't plan to be).

It's happened to most anons…right of passage, sorta. But it still makes you a temporary fucktard. Avoid shitting the bread. Always.
