White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday said coal and natural gas – NOT frozen wind turbines – caused the power grid failure in this week’s Texas cold snap.

 

Texas got hit with a rare cold snap that spanned to the southern part of the state and the power grids gave out.

 

Power outages were initiated by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) early on Monday morning.

 

Millions of Texans went without electricity for days.

 

Temperatures fell into the teens near Dallas and 20s around Houston with wind chills near zero.

 

According to state authorities, nearly half of the wind turbines in Texas froze, hurting the power supplies.

 

Millions of Texans suffered blackouts partly due to the frozen wind turbines.

 

Psaki said reports suggesting renewables caused the power grid failure in Texas are inaccurate, rather it was renewables that came in to save the day.

According to the seismic data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 48 km from the city of Yasuj, the administrative center of the southern province of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, at a depth of 10 km.

 

An earthquake tremor with a magnitude of 5.6 struck off the coast of the Middle Eastern country, according to the UAE National Seismic Network (NCM).

 

No casualties or specific damage have been reported yet. Iran's Tasnim agency reported that there is no electricity in the areas affected by the earthquake, and property damage is highly likely.

 

According to preliminary data, the earthquake was recorded at 22.05 local time on the border of two provinces - Isfahan and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad.

Facebook will restrict publishers and people in Australia from sharing or viewing Australian and international news content.

 

The announcement comes in response to proposed new laws in Australia that would force tech companies to negotiate with media companies over how much to pay them for news content.

 

The move would also prevent people overseas from sharing Australian content on the social media site.

 

In a statement, Facebook says the law fundamentally misunderstands the relationship between their platform and publishers who use it to share news content.

 

It says they face the stark choice between attempting to comply with a law, or to stop allowing news content on our services in Australia β€” and "with a heavy heart" they are choosing the latter.

 

The move comes a day after Nine and Seven West Media reportedly made multi-million-dollar deals with Google for use of content.

Maritime security operations such as this one aim to promote free flow of commerce and obstruct illicit cargo from getting into the wrong hands, the Navy said.

Goodyear man sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexual exploitation of minor following HSI investigation

 

 

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – A local area man was sentenced Feb. 3, to 20 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections for sexually exploiting a minor, as a result of a probe by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

 

Jesse Anthony Garcia, 30, of Goodyear, had previously admitted to recording a video in which a minor victim was engaged in exploitive exhibition or other sexual conduct, and attempting to record a video in which a minor victim was engaged in exploitive exhibition or other sexual conduct in 2016. Garcia pleaded guilty to one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, and one count of Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

β€œThis investigation demonstrates HSI’s unwavering commitment to rid our community of child predators who seek to violate our most innocent population,” said Scott Brown, special agent in charge for HSI Phoenix. β€œHSI won’t ever relent when it comes to protecting children and prosecuting predators whose perverse behavior has no place in our society.”

 

Upon release from prison, Garcia is subject to special terms of probation for sex offenders, and will have computer usage restrictions. Garcia will also be required to register as a sex offender.

 

β€œCriminals who commit despicable acts against children cannot hide behind computer screens,” said Attorney General Mark Brnovich. β€œOur partnerships with local, federal, and international authorities have helped lead to the arrest and conviction of individuals who abuse and exploit our youth.”

Democrat House Members Break With Party over False DCCC Ads Alleging All Republicans Are QAnon

 

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) attacks against House Republicans for their alleged support for the QAnon conspiracy theory have received backlash from some Democrats themselves.

 

The DCCC launched over a half-million-dollar television and digital ad campaign accusing Republicans of standing β€œwith Q and now with you.”

 

The ads targeted many swing district Republicans, such as Reps. Mike Garcia (R-CA), Young Kim (R-CA), Michelle Steel (R-CA), Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL), Don Bacon (R-NE), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Beth Van Duyne (R-TX), and House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

 

Contrary to the ads’ messaging, 146 House Republicans voted in favor last October of a resolution condemning QAnon. This would suggest that the QAnon conspiracy theory is not in the mainstream of the Republican Party.

 

Now, multiple Democrats are concerned about the potential backlash the ad campaign might have, worrying the attacks stray away from β€œfact.”

 

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) told Politico, β€œI want to see the Democrats and DCCC hold ourselves to a higher standard relative to truth, relative to fact and relative to principle. And should we forget the consequences of misinformation, then we become culpable.”

 

Fitzpatrick even cosponsored an ad last year that condemned QAnon.

 

β€œBrian is a friend of mine. He’s a man of principle, a man of decency and the furthest from QAnon supporter,” Phillips said.

 

Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-NJ) said, β€œIt’s totally fair to say House Republicans stood with QAnon after the majority of them voted with a QAnon-inspired mob against certifying the election. About a third of troops have turned down the COVID-19 vaccine

 

The Defense Department has been reluctant to publicly announce how many troops have received a COVID-19 vaccination and how many have refused to get it, but senior Pentagon officials came prepared for questions to a House Armed Services Committee hearing on Wednesday.

 

Of about 916,000 doses administered to DoD personnel, 359,000 have received at least one dose, and 147,000 are fully vaccinated, according to Bob Salesses, who is performing the duties of assistant defense secretary for homeland defense and global security.

 

About a third of those offered the vaccine have turned it down, according to Maj. Gen. Jeff Taliaferro, the Joint Staff’s vice director for operations.

 

That’s worrying to lawmakers.

 

β€œWith new variants popping up across the globe, I’m not sure we can wait two years,” for full Food and Drug Administration approval, Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Ala., said. β€œIt’s critical for our national security that every service member, as well as DoD civilian personnel and contractors, receive vaccines as soon as possible.”

 

Previously, the Pentagon had declined to detail how many troops had received vaccines and the overall take rate. A defense official told Military Times in early February that DoD’s general counsel made that call.

 

Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are under an emergency use authorization, which means they haven’t completed all of the multiple rounds of rigorous testing required before the FDA clears them.

 

Because it is federal law, department policy is that a vaccine under that authorization won’t be mandatory, though service members are required to receive myriad other inoculations in order to serve.

 

The suspicion among service members closely mirrors that of the general U.S. public, according to a recent poll from the Associated Press.

Inside the unfurnished apartment, agents found a baking tray, a large metal pot on the stove with a sifter full of crystal meth and other drug paraphernalia. Conversion labs, designed to transform liquid meth into crystals, require dangerous chemicals that are highly flammable, officials said.

 

β€œIt is rare and extremely dangerous to discover a methamphetamine conversion lab in a densely populated area like New York City,” said Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan, whose office is handling the case. β€œImproperly handled chemicals emit toxic fumes, spark fires and can even explode.”

 

During the investigation, agents reviewed surveillance footage and identified three men β€” Inoel Acosta, Luis Reyes and Angel Zepeda β€” entering the unit, sometimes carrying gallon drums of acetone, according to a press release. Russia Blasts Biden Regime For β€˜Persecution’ Of Trump Supporters, Political Dissidents

 

Russia calls on the United States to observe the human rights of political opponents.

 

The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement lambasting the United States government under Joe Biden for the β€œongoing persecution campaign” taking place β€œagainst anybody at all who does not agree with the results of the latest presidential election.”

 

In the statement, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova delivered a scathing assessment of the human rights situation in the United States under President Joe Biden.

 

Zakharova described the ongoing crackdown against Trump loyalists in the United States:

 

β€œThe FBI has reportedly opened more than 400 criminal cases and applied for more than 500 search warrants and subpoenas for suspects; it has also brought charges against and detained around 200 people. Only several dozen defendants have been released on bail or placed under house arrest. The others are being subjected to harsh pressure, with members of their family and social circle being coerced into giving a β€˜convenient’ testimony. Moreover, people who have not even been officially charged are losing their jobs; they are being banned from social media and publicly ostracised.”

 

She also questioned the β€œobjectivity of the law enforcement agencies” involved in this campaign, noting that they were acting under orders and β€œin line with the narrative of the current administration who declared the events of January 6, 2021 a riot and everybody who was near the US Congress on that day all but plunderers.”

 

She went on to correctly note that far from being violent rioters, most of the attendees of the January 6 rally were peaceful protesters.

 

β€œIn fact, the majority of those people were ordinary citizens concerned about the situation in their own country,” she said. β€œThese were 74 million voters who voted for their president and defended their views.”

 

She warned that the administration’s crackdown would not solve the widespread discontent towards Biden’s rule:

 

β€œTheir protest will not just go away. You cannot just sweep discontent under the rug. Even the rhetoric that the United States allows itself to use with respect to Russia will not help distract public attention from the country’s own problems. They will have to be dealt with. Accordingly, she then called on the United States to respect the β€œbasic human rights” of Trump supporters.

15 Gunmen Arrested After Shootout in Cancun

 

Authorities in Cancun arrested 15 gunmen and rescued a kidnapping victim following an afternoon clash in the beach resort hub.

 

The case took place on Tuesday afternoon when authorities raided a stash house that was being used by gunmen to hold kidnapping victims. According to the local news outlet NotiCaribe, as police forces neared the house, gunmen began shooting. While authorities were able to rescue one kidnapping victim and arrested several gunmen, a second victim was found dead. A member of Mexico’s national guard was injured and a gunman died.

 

The Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office revealed that the case began earlier in the day when authorities were able to intercept six gunmen in two vehicles who had been linked to other violent crimes. The gunmen led authorities to the stash house where the victims were kept.

 

The high-profile shootout in Cancun comes at a time when the popular tourist resort area is seeing a dramatic spike in violence. Earlier this month, gunmen shot and killed two men outside a hotel on the same day that the city saw two more shootouts and a kidnapping.

 

Despite assurances by public officials in Quintana Roo, the violence is getting worse. While not a drug trafficking route, the once peaceful resort hub is considered a hotspot for criminal organizations and their protection rackets.

Lockdowns, masks destroying mental health of children and young people

 

In areas of the world where Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdowns are still a thing, rates of mental illness in children and young people are skyrocketing, according to Dr. Omer Moghraby, a psychiatrist based out of London.

 

Moghraby says he is seeing a massive influx of children cutting themselves or overdosing on pharmaceuticals. Many others have developed eating disorders that have led to serious weight gain or weight loss.

Moghraby is one of a few good and decent healthcare workers out there who has voiced his concerns about this crisis among the young. While the fearful and often selfish elderly who have already lived long lives demand that everyone else stay masked and antisocial at all times so they can feel β€œsafe,” the younger generations appear to be on the verge of a total breakdown.

 

According to Dr. John Wright of the Bradford Royal Infirmary, he and his colleagues would see children suffering a mental health crisis come to their clinic maybe once or twice a week. Since the plandemic, there are more children than perhaps ever before suffering from mental problems.

 

Self-harm, which includes cutting and other forms of physical damage, is also on the rise – not just in teenagers, but also in children much younger who can see that they no longer have a future, thanks to society just rolling over and accepting indefinite lockdowns and mask mandates.

What Happens When A Root Certificate is Comp'D

 

I don't know if a CA has ever had their private keys compromised, but there have been incidents where their systems were broken into and fraudulent certificates were issued. (There's a difference between a private key actually being taken, and an attacker just being able to feed bogus certificates into the system and get them falsely signed – though both are quite bad enough.)

 

In 2011, a reseller for Comodo (later renamed to Sectigo, and still one of the largest CAs in existence) was compromised and used to issue several fraudulent certificates for google.com and other major domains. Comodo quickly revoked the certificates and disabled the reseller's account, and as a bonus (since online OCSP and CRL checks can be blocked) web browsers and OSes released updates specifically banning those certs.

 

Comodo was "encouraged" to be more careful indeed, another reseller account was compromised less than two weeks later but the attacker was unable to accomplish anything with it but their roots were not revoked and they suffered no major consequences. (The reseller is still around, too.) There was a great deal of handwringing around the Internet about whether this was an appropriate response to a limited breach or whether Comodo had made an unforgivable mistake but received "too big to fail" special treatment.

 

Later in 2011 (bad year), a CA called DigiNotar was compromised, and hundreds of fake certificates were issued, for Google and all sorts of other domains (again). When web browser and OS companies were eventually informed, they revoked DigiNotar's roots from their certificate stores – defanging the fraudulent certs but breaking many (largely Dutch) websites in the process.

 

DigiNotar avoided informing anyone of the incident for more than a month, and were unable to produce a complete list of fraudulent certs. Mozilla, for one, lost confidence in them, and DigiNotar was bankrupt in weeks.

 

That's correct. If this happens, then your PKI is doomed and you have to set it up again and roll out all the certificates again.

 

Actually, then not all the certificates are "compromised" in the sense of key compromise, but you cannot longer trust them, since if someone is in possession of the root private key, this person can issue arbitratrily dated certificates and you can no longer distinguish between real and fake certficates. Consequently, then you are in real trouble.

 

This is the reason why root private keys should be protected very very good. Therefore, generally, you use a hardware security module (HSM) to store the respective private key and keep it offline.

 

Notice, that the root private key is only needed for signing the next level of intermediate certificates in the tree and you need the key only for this purpose. All the certificates in the lower levels are signed by the direct ancestor in the tree (and there, the root key is not involved). Nevertheless, also the intermediate private keys should be kept in secure storage (such as HSMs). Because, if the private key of some intermediate CA certificate is compromised, then the entire subtree having this intermediate CA as root is compromised.

Police in Thailand have arrested a top child modelling agent after a raid at his office allegedly uncovered more than half a million images related to child sexual abuse, involving at least 40 minors from the country and thousands of children from around the world.

 

Danudet Sangkaew, 23, goes by the nickname β€œNene” and ran one of Thailand’s top modelling agencies.

 

According to a Channel News Asia (CNA) report, the victims are all male minors aged between six and 15.

 

Thailand’s department of special investigations (DSI) said an 11 February raid at the Nene Modelling Agency in Pathum Thani province, following a tip-off from Australian police, recovered pictures on a computer hard drive of child sexual assault and abuse.

 

Operation Underground Railroad, a non-profit group, as well as police and federal investigators from New Zealand were also involved in the investigation.

 

β€œThis is a child-porn industry and we’re proud to have cracked it,” CNA quoted Khemachart Prakyhongmanee, deputy director of the foreign affairs and transnational crime bureau at DSI, as saying.

For the demons to appear they have to be offered the appropriate objects of their lust as a sacrifice, each class of devil having its own particular taste. RenΓ© von Nebesky-Wojkowitz describes a number of culinary specialties from the Lamaist β€œdemon recipe books”: cakes made of dark flour and blood; five different sorts of meat, including human flesh; the skull of the child of an incestuous relationship filled with blood and mustard seeds; the skin of a boy; bowls of blood and brain; a lamp filled with human fat with a wick made of human hair; and a dough like mixture of gall, brain, blood and human entrails (Nebesky-Wojkowitz, 1955, p. 261).

 

Once the gods had accepted the sacrifice they stood at the ritual master’s disposal. The four-armed protective deity, Mahakala, was considered a particularly active assistant when it came to the destruction of enemies. In national matters his bloodthirsty emanation, the six-handed Kschetrapala, was called upon. The magician in charge wrote the war god’s mantra on a piece of paper in gold ink or blood from the blade of a sword together with the wishes he hoped to have granted, and began the invocation.

Likewise in the middle of last century, the Yellow Hats from the Samye monastery were commissioned by the Tibetan government with the task of capturing the army of the red tsan demons in four huge β€œcross-hairs” in order to then send them off against the enemies of the Land of Snows. This magic instrument, a right-angled net of many-colored threads, stood upon a multistage base, each of which was filled with such tantric substances as soil form charnel fields, human skulls, murder weapons, the tips of the noses, hearts, and lips of men who died an unnatural death, poisonous plants, and similar things. The repulsive mixture was supposed to attract the tsan like a moth to a candle, so that they would become inescapably caught in the spells said over the spirit trap (Nebesky-Wojkowitz, 1955, p. 258). Following the seven-day deep meditation of a high lama it was ready and the demons could be given the command to set out against the enemy.

Such a ritual is also said to have summoned up a terrible earthquake and great panic in Nepal in earlier times, when Tibet was at war with the Nepalese. Experience had shown, however, that it sometimes takes a long time before the effects of such harmful rites are felt. It took two decades after the successful occupation of Tibet by the English (in 1904) before there was an earthquake in the Indian province of Bihar in which a number of British soldiers lost their lives. The Tibetans also traced this natural disaster back to magical activities which they had conducted prior to the invasion.

Taxes on the Rich: One-Sixth of What They Used to Be

 

Chuck Collins and Bob Lord summarize the radical tax transformation in the U.S. over the past 65 years, particularly since 1980.

 

America hasn’t stopped taxing its wealthiest citizens entirely.

 

But that’s where we’re headed.

 

According to a new IPS briefing paper, the richest .01 percent of Americans, about 33,000 lucky souls today, now pay just one-sixth of what they used to pay in tax, when measured as a percentage of their total wealth.

 

The top .01 percent in America is a phenomenally wealthy group. Even during America’s most egalitarian periods, the average member of the top .01 percent held over 200 times the wealth of the average American. Today, the wealth of the average top .01 percenter is nearly 1,000 times that of the average American and is closing in on one billion dollars.

 

Hence, it doesn’t matter to the top .01 percent what type of tax they pay, be it income, sales, property or anything else. Taxes don’t influence their spending decisions or such mundane things as how many hours they work, when they retire, or whether their spouse must work. For a group whose poorest members are worth more than $100 million, the only impact any tax has is its impact on their wealth–and tax payments decrease the rate at which their wealth grows.

 

America’s radical tax transformation occurred over the last 65 years. The process started slowly between 1953 and 1980. It took 26 years for tax payments by the top .01 percent to fall by one-third from their 1953 peak. But starting in 1980, tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans have followed a clear pattern: When Republicans have held power, tax cuts for those at the top have been slashed; When Democrats have held power, they’ve enacted a few slight tax increases, but mostly have maintained the status quo.

 

The result has been a systematic shift in America’s tax policy, with taxes on wealth moving inexorably lower and taxes on work moving inexorably higher. As economists Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman have reported, the country has moved from a progressive tax system to one where the overall tax rate, as a percentage of income, is lowest for the very wealthiest of us. That’s bad enough. When we view the policy shift through the lens of taxation of wealth, as the IPS briefing paper does, it’s far uglier.

 

Effectively, taxes on the ultra-wealthy have nearly been eliminated. The members of the top 0.1 percent pay only one-sixth of what they paid a half century ago in taxes. What used to be paid every two months is now paid every twelve.

 

And there’s no sign this trajectory is changing.

It is, however, sufficient to note their name on a piece of paper. Even so, sometimes hard-to-find ingredients are necessary for an effective destructive ritual, as shown by the following Buddhist ritual: β€œDraw a red magic diagram in the form of a half-moon, then write the name and lineage of the victim on a piece of cotton which has been used to cover the corpse of a plague victim. As ink, use the blood of a dark-skinned Brahmin girl. Call upon the protective deities and hold the piece of material in black smoke. Then lay it in the magic diagram. Swinging a magic dagger made from the bones of a plague victim, recite the appropriate incantation a hundred thousand times. Then place the piece of material there where the victim makes his nightly camp” (Nebesky-Wojkowitz, 1955, p.260). This induces the death of the person. [2]

Dalai Lama & Sweet Sarin-ade

 

On March 20, 1995 there was a poison gas attack in Tokyo’s underground system that killed a number of people and injured around 5,500 further victims and shook the world public. It was a sect leader, Shoko Asahara, who gave the command. Asahara was born in 1955 as the son of a large Japanese family. As he could barely see, he had to attend a school for the blind. After finishing school he tried without success to gain admittance to Tokyo University. In the following years he became involved in Asian medicine and started to practice various yoga exercises. He married in 1978. This marriage produced six children. The first spiritual group, which he founded in 1984,was known as AUM Shinsen-no-kai, that is, β€œAUM β€” Group of the mountain ascetics”.

But Asahara was not a complete nobody for the god-king. According to the German magazine, Stern, they had met five times since 1987 (Stern 36/95, p. 126). Amazingly, weeks after the first poison gas attack, His Holiness still called the guru a β€œfriend, although not necessarily a perfect one” (Stern 36/95, p. 126). Then a document from 1989 came to light in which the Kundun thanked the AUM sect for donations and confirmed that they β€œencouraged public awareness through religious and social activities” (Focus 38/95, p. 114). On January 21, 1989 Asahara had sent the sum of $100,000 to Dharamsala for the assistance of Tibetan refugees. As a kind of service in return he received an official note from the Council for religious and cultural affairs of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in which one can read: β€œTo the best of our knowledge, AUM attempts to promote public well-being through various religious and social activities, for example through instruction in Buddhist doctrines and yoga” (Focus 38/95, p. 116–117).

As evidence for this suspicion Asahara appeals to synchronicities and miraculous signs. Like the Panchen Lama, his son was also deaf in one ear. Yet the vision which appeared to the child’s mother was even more unambiguous: β€œA boy flying in spurts over a snowy mountain range with his legs crossed in a full Lotus posture. A low male voice said: 'Panchen Lama'. The voice continued, 'Tibetan Buddhism is finished. I have come to rebuild it …'" (Shimatsu, I).

Asahara also met with other high Tibetan tantra masters β€” Khamtrul Rinpoche, for example, an important Nyingmapa teacher, and Kalu Rinpoche, the Kalachakra specialist of the Kagyupas whose multifarious activities we have already considered. There is supposed to have been a meeting between the Tibetan scholar, Khamtrul (who the Kundun had prophesied to be the future Rudra Chakrin), the Dalai Lama, and a member of the AUM sect (Hisako Ishii) at which the publication of esoteric teachings of Padmasambhava in Japanese was discussed. According to statements by Asahara, Khamtrul Rinpoche confirmed his β€œperfect, absolute, divine wisdom” (quoted by Repp, 1997, p. 18). On May 24, 1989, the Tibetan is supposed to have issued the Japanese guru with the following letter of recommendation:

β€œTeacher Asahara is my old friend, and I consider it an honor to be able to say the following in favor of him and of his religious activities:

I am filled with boundless admiration for Teacher Asahara’s innate Buddhist traits, like enthusiasm for his work, goodliness, generosity, and selflessness.

He is an experienced and qualified meditation; tantra; and yoga instructor.

On the condition that he receives fitting recognition, Teacher Asahara can become a truly well-known teacher of Buddhism, who is capable of re-establishing the true doctrine of the Dharma in Japan.

The financial system has been poisoned for decades by governments’ excess spending and central banks’ prodigal printing of toxic and worthless money.

 

And now, with Covid, they have the perfect excuse to senselessly create trillions of dollars, euros, yuan or yen. The world doesn’t realise that this money, fabricated by pressing a button, is no different from the Monopoly board game money.

 

Just look at the balance sheet of the four major central banks – the Fed, ECB, Bank of Japan and the People’s Bank of China.

 

As the graph above shows, these central banks’ balance sheets have exploded almost 6x since 2006. In 2008-9, their total balance sheet were $9 trillion and now they are $29t.

CALLING THE HOLDINGS OF CENTRAL BANKS β€œASSETS” IS A TRAVESTY.

 

Business assets are defined as items of value. So how are these β€œassets of value” created in the financial system?

 

Firstly the central bank creates toxic money out of thin air. By definition, money that has been fabricated without real labour or production of goods or services must have ZERO value.

 

Secondly, the central bank purchases β€œpoisoned” assets in the form of debt that cannot and will not ever be repaid. These debts are issued by bankrupt governments and other insolvent debtors who can only repay their debts by issuing more debt.

 

So this whole corrupt and circular system should be defined as β€œPoison in – Poison out”.

 

The poison in is the fabricated fake money which has ZERO value. The poison out are the assets/debts bought with fake money which will all expire worthless.

 

And it is on this construction of toxic assets and liabilities that the whole financial system rests.

 

It is totally absurd to swallow that such a system can survive.

Chimpanzees Die After Texas Wildlife Sanctuary Loses Power in Winter Storm

 

Several mammals and birds died at a San Antonio wildlife sanctuary due to the freezing conditions and losses of electricity. The 70-acre Primarily Primates facility is home to hundreds of primates.

 

Power failed at the Primary Primates facility in San Antonio at 6 a.m. on Monday as temperatures fell to single digits. Workers scrambled to find mobile generators, space heaters, propane tanks, and blankets in a valiant attempt to save their residents, according to ABC News.

 

The 12-member staff pulled out animal carriers and began transporting several of the animals to the San Antonio Zoo and another facility in North Texas, Primarily Primates Executive Director Brooke Chavez told the San Antonio Express-News. As they worked to round up as many of the animals as they could, they began to find deceased primates and birds.

 

β€œI never, ever thought my office would turn into a morgue, but it has,” Chavez told the newspaper. β€œSomeone asked me how many animals have died. I don’t know yet. ATLANTA, GA – A grand jury has indicted Paulding County District Attorney Donald Richard β€œDick” Donovan on four felony charges: Bribery, False Swearing, and Violation of Oath by Public Officer. A Paulding County Grand Jury returned the indictment on February 17, 2021.

 

β€œWe appreciate the Paulding County Grand Jury for their careful consideration of this case,” said Attorney General Chris Carr. β€œDistrict attorneys work for the people and swear an oath to faithfully and impartially discharge their duties. It is our duty to hold public officials who violate their oath accountable, and we look forward to presenting our case in court.”

 

β€œThe GBI is dedicated to investigating corruption at all levels and working with prosecutors to help lead to a successful prosecution,” said Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vic Reynolds.

 

Donovan has served as the Paulding County District Attorney since his election to that position in 2010.

 

Donovan had been under investigation after one of his staff members alleged he sexually harassed her.

 

The indictment charges that Donovan committed the offense of bribery when he submitted an order dismissing criminal charges pending in Paulding County Superior Court against a client of the Cedartown Municipal Court prosecutor with the purpose of influencing this prosecutor’s decision regarding the disposition of criminal charges then pending in the Cedartown Municipal Court against an employee of Donovan’s office.

 

The indictment also charges Donovan made false statements in a sworn affidavit when he denied ever having said that he wanted to have sex with this same employee of his office and denied describing fantasies regarding his desire to be physical with this employee.

 

β€œIf it’s sexual harassment, it’s unlawful,” Donovan said in the affidavit. β€œBut I am very, very reluctant to characterize it as sexual harassment because, again, I have never suggested we have sex, I have never offered to have sex with her, I have never said I wanted to have sex with her, I have never tried to have sex with her. I have never touched her anywhere that was inappropriate.”

 

Donovan was heard on secret recordings before the sexual harassment complaint was filed.

In 2015, Willis founded For the Love of Carla, a non-profit that promotes the awareness of Sickle Cell Anemia, in honor of a close friend, currently battling the disease.

Willis has been recognized many times in her career. Most recently, she was awarded the Most Powerful and Influential Woman of the Year, in 2018.

 

In August 2018, Willis returned to private practice by opening The Law Offices of Fani T. Thankfully, one of my few sabbaticals was during the major outage at the Niagara facility that knocked out the a majority of the midwest. So, I never really had to go through any of the disastrous purge process in the wake of the fallout. But I did hear plenty of stories for several years after and can confirm your post through my experience.

 

There are tons of rules that suck when dealing with the grocery business. I hated the fact that we were not allowed to donate short-dated food. But due to liabilities and the various credits involved, grocery stores are essentially reimbursed for the food they throw out, in one way or another or both.
