For several months a few years back I used a Mr. Coffee to cook with. Ramen. Canned soup. Sandwiches heated directly on the warming plate.
Not exactly haute cuisine, but I had enough. Since it was winter, I could keep cold stuff on the window ledge in an unheated Florida room. Milk was good for 3-4 days. Did most of my laundry in the bathroom sink. Coffee was too expensive, so I made tea and reused the hell out of the bag. Read my Bible a lot. Kept working and looking for a better job. By spring, I was back in a place of my own.
