Residents urged not to drink water after alleged water tank vandalism in Auburn
Reichert is among roughly 900 Auburn residents being advised by the Borough not to drink any of the water, after two suspects allegedly climbed up on a water tank and caused damage to the vent on top sometime between Friday and Sunday.
“I have all of my laundry done and stuff and if I don’t need to use a stove, I’ll just make frozen dinners and stuff like that," said Reichert.
The Borough said this measure is being taken as a precaution, as it awaits test results to see if the water is contaminated.
According to the Department of Environmental Protection, so far there has not been any evidence of anything harmful in the tank
