Rahm was closely associated with Mazany and BO, both in DC and Chicago. I don't have the sauce now, but a lot of it is tied into the Chicago Public Schools. Mazany: "Terry Mazany is the former president and chief executive officer for The Chicago Community Trust, serving from 2004 to 2017. In 2011 he also served as the interim chief executive officer of Chicago Public Schools. Mazany was appointed by then-Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to serve as Chairman of the National Assessment Governing Board. He is also a former member of the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago."
The other person I have noticed with both Education and the CCT is Paul Vallas. "After talking for months about taking on Mayor Rahm Emanuel in next year’s election, former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas soon will make it clear he’s running, his election attorney said Wednesday." Vallas' 24 year old son was found dead in a California rehab center: "Attempts to reach Vallas were not immediately successful Wednesday evening. He’s kept a relatively low profile in recent weeks after the death of his 24-year-old son."
It's a whole other dig to get into their connections but I know that Rahm was on the CCT Board prior to 2014. There were some large amounts of money involved. It would require some more work on my part.
