Gov. Andrew Cuomo Releases Statement Following Sexual Harassment Allegations

New York Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo released a statement on Sunday afternoon apologizing for his behavior after two women came forward and claimed that he sexually harassed them while they worked in his administration.

 

The statement from Cuomo comes after β€œLindsey Boylan, a candidate for Manhattan borough president who formerly worked for Cuomo and the state’s economic development agency, revealed in a blog post on Wednesday that the governor had kissed her without her consent and asked her to play strip poker,” Politico reported. β€œThen, on Saturday, The New York Times reported that Charlotte Bennett, a former executive assistant and health policy adviser to Cuomo, was also sexually harassed by the governor, including inappropriate questions about her sex life.”

 

β€œQuestions have been raised about some of my past interactions with people in the office,” the statement began. β€œI never intended to offend anyone or cause any harm. I spend most of my life at work, and colleagues are often also personal friends. At work sometimes I think I am being playful and make jokes that I think are funny. I do, on occasion, tease people in what I think is a good natured way. I do it in public and in private. You have seen me do it at briefings hundreds of times. I have teased people about their personal lives, their relationships, about getting married or not getting married.”

 

β€œI mean no offense and only attempt to add some levity and banter to what is a very serious business,” Cuomo continued. β€œI now understand that my interactions may have been insensitive or too personal and that some of my comments, given my position, made others feel in ways I never intended. I acknowledge some of the things I have said have been misinterpreted as an unwanted flirtation. To the extent anyone felt that way, I am truly sorry about that.”

 

β€œTo be clear I never inappropriately touched anybody and I never propositioned anybody and I never intended to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but these are allegations that New Yorkers deserve answers to,” the statement concluded. β€œThat’s why I have asked for an outside, independent review that looks at these allegations. Separately, my office has heard anecdotally that some people have reached out to Ms. Bennett to express displeasure about her coming forward. My message to anyone doing that is you have misjudged what matters to me and my administration and you should stop now – period.”

 

White House Press Secretary discussed the issue on CNN’s β€œState of the Union” on Sunday, and suggested that Biden believed the essence of the claims that were being made.

 

β€œCharlotte should be treated with respect and dignity. So should Lindsey,” Psaki said. β€œAnd there should be an independent review looking into these allegations. And that’s certainly something [Biden] supports and we believe should move forward as quickly as possible.”

The Fox News meteorologist has almost single-handedly made the New York story of how Andrew Cuomo has refused to release similar data in that state after the death of her in-laws last year and made it national news.

The Whitmer administration has not fulfilled my request or our request on the No Bullshit News Hour for COVID death data that may shed light on the true extent of the nursing home devastation. This, in my opinion, is a violation of state law, and more so and this is not an opinion, it is a danger and a disservice to our institutionalized elders who have borne the brunt of the suffering and continue to bear it. (Guv) Cuomo in New York is now under Federal investigation, a second one apparently for misleading the public whose nursing home playbook was copied by (Guv) Whitmer. This in the aftermath of an investigation conducted by the office of the New York State Attorney General, a democrat.

Release the data Madame Governor but she won’t, so Steve Deliee the lead policy lawyer on transparency and open government with the august and well regarded Mackinac Center the non-partisan think tank here in Michigan, they have agreed to take our case to sue the Whitmer administration for the death data in these nursing homes.

 

Governor Whitmer has decided just to say that she is basing this on the science and the data is enough and should be taken as Gospel, case closed. No elected official nor any administration should be allowed to decide that the very data they are using to implement policy is beyond the examination of the unwashed masses.

 

LeDuff’s request is reasonable and it is also a shame that no one else who covers the Governor up in Lansing has really dug into this story. Way too many of the decisions of the lockdown Governors and the data they used to justify them are being hidden. Pres. Trump "Names Names" In His Speech at CPAC – Putting Primary Targets on the Backs of GOP Members Who Voted To Impeach

 

It was a not-all-that-surprising moment in his speech to the CPAC Annual Convention in Orlando today when Pres. Trump went right at his detractors in the Republican Party who joined with the House Democrats in voting to impeach him, as well as GOP Senators who votes to convict him β€” the only purpose of which was to prevent him from running for the Presidency again in 2024 (maybe).

 

Pres. Trump argued that now is the time to select Republican Party leaders who have more energy and interest in attacking β€œBiden, Pelosi, Schumer, and the Democrats” β€” who want to turn the United States into a socialist country β€” rather than spending the using their time and energy attacking him and the GOP electorate that voted for him.

 

Pres. Trump called out what he referred to as β€œGrand Standers” in the GOP, naming Mitt Romney, Ben Sasse, Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, and Pat Toomey, all of whom voted with the Democrats in the Senate to convict him on the Article of Impeachment passed by the House.

 

He then named the ten GOP members of the House who voted in favor of Impeachment β€” Tom Rice, Adam Kinzinger, Dan Newhouse, Anthony Gonzalez, Fred Upton, Jaime Herrera Beutler, Peter Meijer, John Katko, David Valadao β€” and Liz Cheney.

 

Of the Senators, Burr and Toomey have already announced they plan to retire from the Senate at the end of their current terms. Sasse, Cassidy, and Collins were just re-elected in 2020. Romney likely feels safe in Utah, and Murkowski had already been promised by Trump that he would campaign for any Republican who will enter the race against her.

 

In the House, Rice has guaranteed himself a primary challenger β€” and likely a primary defeat β€” in his very pro-Trump district in South Carolina. Kinzinger comes from an Illinois district that seems to favor moderate Republicans over conservatives, and his seat might be in danger of being eliminated by Illinois Democrats if Illinois loses a congressional seat as expected after the 2020 Census.

 

Newhouse represents one of the more rural districts of Washington State β€” which Trump carried in 2020 by a margin of 58-40. He likely earned himself a primary challenge with his vote, having only served three terms himself.

 

Anthony Gonzalez is an Ohio State and NFL football star and can likely survive his vote in his central Ohio district which Trump carried by 15 points. He might be one GOP House member that Pres. Trump is persuaded to not target since his presence in the GOP as a high-profile conservative Latino resonates with Trump’s MAGA base.

 

Fred Upton is a swamp creature, having served in the House since 1987. His moderate GOP district was won by Pres. Trump only by a margin of 51-47. He’s long been one of the most moderate-to-liberal members of the House GOP caucus. He is certain to attract a pro-Trump primary challenge, but he likely survives if he chooses to run for an 18th term.

 

Jaime Herrera Beutler occupies a Washington district on that state’s border with Oregon. Pres. Trump won the district the narrow 51-47 margin. Herrera-Beutler will likely draw a pro-Trump primary challenger, but even if she survives that, she is one of the GOP House members most likely to see her seat flip to the Democrats in 2022.

 

Pete Meijer is a GOP freshman with an impressive biography and appears to be a solid conservative in a fairly closely divided district. He might be another House member that Pres. Trump is persuaded to leave alone, and not encourage a primary challenge that might end up with the district flipping to the Democrats.

 

John Katko is in similar shape β€” a former federal prosecutor in a moderate and evenly divided New York district that could easily be lost to the Democrats if Katko is pushed out by a primary challenge.

 

David Valadao won back his Central California seat by an extraordinarily close margin. There is a strong pro-Trump base in his district and he is certain to draw a primary challenge just to the north of Devin Nunes.

 

That leaves Liz Cheney. She’s roadkill after a primary challenge in Wyoming β€” all without any fear that the seat would be lost to the Democrats in 2022. Maybe there is a House seat she can run for in Virginia where she has always lived for most of the past 30+ years.

Like it or not… but ISLAM is Western Civilization.

The idea that Islam is somehow "non-Western" is a conceptual confusion. Obviously Europeans were inclined to contrast themselves most clearly with their near neighbors… the Muslims.

But in the bigger picture, most everything that is actually INTERESTING about the Islamic world derives in some crucial way from its place in Western Civilization. Hyatt Hotels Pushes Back on Leftist Boycott Calls Over Hosting CPAC

In response to a campaign started by disgraced β€œgrim reaper” lawyer Daniel Uhlfelder, Loews Hotels announced last month that they would no longer be hosting a scheduled fundraiser for Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) in Florida on grounds that the chain was β€œopposed” to anyone who β€œsupported and incited” the actions of the Capitol rioters.

 

β€œWe are horrified and opposed to the events at the Capitol and all who supported and incited the actions,” Loews said in a tweet at the time. β€œIn light of those events and for the safety of our guests and team members, we have informed the host of the Feb. fundraiser that it will no longer be held at Loews Hotels.”

 

As CPAC got underway a few days ago in Orlando, Florida, leftists who apparently just figured out that the annual conservative conference was being held at the Hyatt Regency took to the Twitter machine to demand Hyatt cancel hosting the event, suggesting that if Hyatt didn’t meet their demands they’d be boycotting their hotels in the future.

Breckenridge to hire security guards to enforce mask mandates during spring break

Guards will work in downtown 'mask zone'

 

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. – The Breckenridge Town Council is taking steps to protect frontline workers during spring break.

 

Council members plan to hire two security guards to help enforce public health orders during the two-week spring break peak in mid-March.

 

Town Manager Rick Holman told council members on Tuesday that a lot of businesses are struggling, and that it has a little bit to do with the "attitude" of some people in town.

 

He explained that some visitors are giving frontline workers grief when reminded about the mask requirement.

 

The ski town has instituted a mandatory mask zone in the downtown area.

I'm hoping US military will occupy the United States, so we can have fraud free elections like so many gave their life for the right for Iraq to have free and fair elections.

 

The United States cant move forward as a nation until your voting rights are secure and the process is fixed.

 

Military should handle elections, handle the ballots, and observe bipartisan officials counting them, along with constituencies of both parties.

The 27 leaders of the council are known asGuardians for Inclusive Capitalism,and include Ajay Banga of Mastercard, Marc Benioff of Salesforce and Brian Moynihan of Bank of America. They will meet each year with Francis and Cardinal Peter Turkson, who leads the Vatican department dealing with many social issues.

β€œAn economic system that is fair, trustworthy, and capable of addressing the most profound challenges facing humanity and our planet is urgently needed,” Francis said in a statement.
