Phonetically, the first thought ref UK would be Walter Raleigh. He has a statue in Greenwich (a bit outside our usual stomping grounds), but that also includes a dock of sorts, the Cutty Sark is there. Also nearby is the New Zealand memorial and we have New Zealand house in the background of our CH pics. Apparently there is a Greenwich (park) area of Detroit MI, but Google maps doesn't appear to show it, just a pub.
MI also has its own London, Gibraltar, Manchester, Chelsea, Reading, Brighton, Dundee and Ayr + others. London is not far from highway 50. (MI also has a Hell and Clinton).
Off topic - if you think of Greenwich and the US, first to spring to mind is Greenwich village NY, this is the home of the Stonewall Inn, which Barry tweeted out a year or two ago.
Working on other theories, nothing is really clicking here, just dropping some observations.
