Anons, here is a follow-up on digz re bollards on Northumberland traffic islands.

 

This pic is of the man who died in the fatal mortorcycle accident at Corinthea Hotel in MAR 2014 that consequently caused changes to the bollards at the traffic islands there.

 

After his death, his sister and friends raised money in his name; news story referred to his having won a medal for England in Tai Chi.

The news also reported that he had been an amature actor and had starred in a short film Salome – which was taken to the Sundance and Cannes film festivals.

Ok, now this may be a reach, but could anons dig for moar, in light of the Q posts that referred to an alert re car attack?

 

He had been doing Tai Chi for just two years before winning a medal for England? Had just started amature acting before 'starring' in a film that went to a major film festival?

 

His death was marked, for a while, by family and friends who setup a makeshift memorial on the very bollard/island at which the accident had occurred. And that was in the vicinity of the pics Q posted in the context of having also posted about staying alert re car attack.

 

Is it too far of a reach to think that possibly Q intended for us to follow these crumbs/hints and connect with the pics? Were we meant to discover the changes in bollards so as to date the London pics? And to the charitable work for young people?

As far as I can tell, the first written record we have of Vive la France in a government speech comes from then-Prime Minister René Viviani’s August 3, 1914 address to the government regarding the assassination of Jean Jaurès and the looming First World War.

 

Most sources agree, though, that it took another 30 to 40 years for the phrase to really take off with leaders of France.

 

Basically, remember that it’s the rough equivalent to “God save the Queen” or “God bless America.” Both of those phrases are usually used with a certain respect or at least enthusiasm, but they have also been used for hate or to protest against the state or to be disparaging.

Bollards appeared in good shape, intact, in SV 2009. Note the bent hooped bollard on the other island. Seems this is one of those locations, near junctions but without traffic controls specific to crossing, that is site of close calls and other incidents on the roadway.

The image with which Q confirmed the location of the trafcam that took the pic of pedestrians crossing EMB that particular MAY 2012 IMAGERY on GOOMAP'S Streetview is no longer available online. It has been replaced with a different set of imagery also dated MAY 2012. The old imagery gone, and this was done almost seamlessly.

 

Note that the trafcam was missing in SV for a brief time around when we have figured the EMB/CH pics had been taken. That trafcam reappeared but now its perch stands empty.

CH1 includes pedestrian island with a hooped-style two-legged traffic bollard. CH1 is here compared with a stock photo taken 2 MAR 2014. In addition, both photos are compared with a coroner's report on a fatal motorcycle accident in which a cyclist collided with the traffic bollard at the island next to the CH.

 

The accident occured on 5-MAR-2014 and shortly afterward a make-shift memorial was setup on the traffic island. There were 2-3 days between when the stock photo was taken and when the fatality occurred. Subsequently new one-legged traffic bollards were installed on the traffic islands at this location. In the meantime, the memorial of flowers and pictures and such remained in its place for months.

 

The pictorial evidence indicates that CH1 had been taken BEFORE the memorial was setup; and that memorial was put in place sometime between 5-MAR-2014 and the MAY 2014 imagery of SV of these traffic bollards. The stock photo stands as a detailed snapshot of the scene just prior to the fatal accident. It would appear that CH1 had been taken sometime BEFORE the memorial was setup and, quite possibly, before the fatal accident on the morning of 5-MAR-2014.

Anon, I have a niggling notion that some of the women, and one of the men, in the pic you posted, made an appearance at the traffic island at which the makeshift memorial was setup on the traffic bollard.

 

If I recall correctly, a group that resembled the group in the pic you posted was captured in a vid that I found and posted in previous bread. In CH1 - the daylight Q pic of the hotel - there were some ambiguous indications that such a gathering had occured the day that pic was taken. And that at least one of the individuals was in the foreground of CH1, on the sidewalk, as part of a pair walking toward the traffic island area and pointing ahead. The group on the island, or pedestrian refuge, looked like youngish women, as in the pic you posted.

 

The vid that captured the group was of a cyclist passing from junction at EMB and travelling up NORTHUMBERLAND toward TRAF. I'd hafta dig it up from my backup coz of the tech probs I've had. If Anons can take a looksee in past breads, the link to the vid prolly was posted along with caps.

 

GRIPE - something that hampers us, over the course of digz that span multiple breads, has been the lack of archival pics or links to pics in older breads. Is this a common problem with others?

Quite common in SV IMAGES and other pictorial evidence for camera to capture individuals standing on or walking toward/from that particular pedestrian refuge. Note that there is a motorcycle parking area across the street from the CH and near the theatre there. Can spot it in the background of the cap here from SV MAY 2014.

Source vid recorded by cyclist on Northumberland Avenue and heading toward Trafgalgar Square on 23 MARCH 2014. As camera approaches the Corinthia Hotel, the viewer enters into and passes through the scene of CH1 Q2797.

 

The bollards on the traffic islands are different in this video and indicate that CH1 was taken before this recording was made. At one of the bollards, a makeshift memorial appeared after a fatal motorcycle accident that had occurred in the morning of 5 MARCH 2014. Sometime between that day and the 23rd, the memorial was setup and visited by mourners.

 

In this video, at that bollard, there appears to be a group of about 10 individuals. In CH1 there appears to be at least one individual who resembles a person in the vid at the bollard. Possibly this recording captured a group of friends and family of the deceased less than three weeks after the accident. Possibly some of those individuals were also captured in CH1 just before the memorial was fully formed there.

Anaheim city council stripped a commissioner of his title for comments he made after refusing to partner with a Chinese city.

 

Council unanimously voted to remove Larry Larson’s commissioner status from the sister cities commission during an April 27 city council meeting.

 

“They’re going to destroy me and my reputation, kick me off sister cities—which you voted to put me on—because I said, ‘China virus,’” Larsen told council.

 

The issue began when the sister city commission, which works to develop Anaheim’s cultural and economic relationships with international cities, considered partnering with Pudong, China on Feb. 22.

 

Pudong is a district within Shanghai where the Shanghai Disney Resort is located. Anaheim and Pudong have a “friendly city” relationship, but are not full-fledged sister cities.

 

Larsen said he was shocked by the commission’s consideration with a Chinese city, given how the CCP had lied for weeks about having the virus before informing the World Health Organization.

 

“I am stunned that anybody in Anaheim would consider such a thing,” Larsen said.

 

During the Feb. 22 meeting, commissioner Dara Maleki said: “I don’t know who our bigger enemy is—foreign or the domestic. We’ve got a pandemic; we’ve got a serious virus.”

 

Said Larsen: “It’s called the China Virus. The City of Anaheim is in the tank, and we’re going to invite them into our house?”

 

Chair Taline Cole interjected: “Larry, I’m going to stop you there. This isn’t the place to have political conversations.”

 

Larsen fired back: “I’m blown away that this city has taken that invite from China. And now we’re going to smack happy with these people? I’m absolutely stunned.”

 

Commissioner Dara Maleki said the commission chooses sister cities based upon similar industries, such as the Disney Resort.

 

However, Pudong has not made contact with Anaheim about six years “because of Mayor [Tom] Tait and his relationship with the Dalai Lama,” Larsen said.

 

“The minute Mayor Tait was out of office, here comes Pudong knocking on the door.”

 

The city was notified of its dormant status with Pudong after a letter was sent to the commission encouraging a sister city relationship.

 

Community services superintendent Kimberly Kelemen said when it came to Pudong, the City of Anaheim was under the impression that everything had been completed. Pudong later circled back to say it had another consideration process, she said.

 

During the sister city commission’s March meeting, the Pudong item was agenized for discussion.

Larsen recommended that Anaheim send a letter to Pudong, informing a termination of the two cities’ relations because of the CCP virus pandemic’s impact on Anaheim’s community.

 

“Our kids have been out of school for a year; the people are unemployed, the city for all intents and purposes is teetering on bankruptcy—and we want to court these people?” Larsen said. “It makes no sense to me at all. I can’t believe that anybody would even want to do that.”

 

Cole said: “I don’t think that people of Pudong, China that live there every day, the citizens of that city, did anything to the City of Anaheim. Whether you feel you agree with their government or not, I think that’s a different issue.”

 

Larsen said that every industry within China is tied to the CCP.

 

“Taline, let me add something. First of all, you have to be awful naive not to understand that not one thing is said or done in the country of China that isn’t government,” he said.

 

Commissioner Brian Stanley agreed with Larsen, saying the CCP, being communist, does not “fit” with Anaheim or the U.S.

 

Larsen said the CCP owes the city of Anaheim a payment for the damages it brought to schools, children, and the economy.

 

“Well, if Pudong, out of a gesture of friendliness or kindness or whatever word you want to use, wants to write a check for $150 million to Anaheim to reimburse us for the damage that’s been done, I would probably look kindly on that.”

 

The commission decided to take no action and leave the two cities in a “friendly city” relationship, rather than “sister cities.”

 

Larsen’s Removal

 

Councilmember Jordan Brandman brought up removing Larson from his role during an April 13 council meeting, due to his comments during the sister cities commission meetings.

 

Brandman refused to refer to the commissioner by his name because “that person is not worth the dignity of having their name announced.”

 

During the April 27 city council meeting, Brandman agenized the removal of Larson.

 

“I believe that what was said at the February and March meeting by the commissioner in question does not represent what Anaheim stands for,” Brandman said during the meeting.

 

“He was given the opportunity to resign. He chose not to do so. It is incumbent upon us as an example, to do what we think, within the mission.”

 

Larsen addressed council during the April 27 meeting; Brandman did not attend the public comments, and arrived late to the city council meeting.

 

“Jordan Brandman has accused me of the most vile thing a person can be accused of, and that’s being a racist,” Larsen said.

 

“He raked me through the mud in trying to destroy my stellar reputation that I’ve worked my entire life in this city to develop. And then he doesn’t have the nerve to show up.”

 

Councilmember Trevor O’Neil was upset with Larsen’s remarks during the council meeting.

 

“Tonight, rather than taking his comment time to tout his accomplishments, I wish that Mr. Larson would have addressed some of the things that he actually said during the sister city commission meetings,” O’Neil said.

 

“I would have liked to have heard an apology for his insensitive remarks.”

 

The council voted unanimously to remove Larsen from his position as commissioner.

 

“Anaheim is a diverse and global city and we are proud of that,” Mayor Harry Sidhu told The Epoch Times via email.

 

“The former commissioner’s comments were his own and do not speak for or reflect the city of Anaheim.”

 

Councilmember Avelino Valencia said he did not expect Larsen to rescind his comments, but was nevertheless unhappy with his remarks during public comment.

 

“At last night’s council meeting, Mr. Larsen had an opportunity to make things right, but instead opted to further reiterate his statements during public comment,” Valencia told The Epoch Times via email.

 

“While I believe that we all deserve an opportunity to learn and grow from our mistakes, it should not be at the expense of our community.”

Anons, what if I told you that we have two vids that, taken together, show the EMB/CH combination on two specific dates and in each of these vids there is a glimpse, blurred but nonetheless useful, of the handrails at entrance to HISP; and that in both there does NOT appear to be signs on the handrails like is seen in the Q pics.

 

Let's review.

 

These vids are of ST PATRICK'S DAY, mid-day Monday 17th MARCH 2014, and of a commuter's work day, morning Tuesday 25th MARCH 2014.

 

This pictorial evidence is further supplemented by a stock photo of the Corinthia Hotel that was taken on Sunday 2nd MARCH 2014. Also, SV images of MAY 2012 and MAY 2014; in 2012 the bollards at the traffic islands resemble those in the 2nd MARCH 2014 stock photo; and also resemble those in CH1.

 

The SV MAY 2014 images show the same bollard positions, resembling CH1, however, these also show the temporary foldable bollards and the makeshift memorial at the two-legged hooped style bollard on one of the islands.

 

These new features are not in the 2nd MARCH 2014 stock photo but do appear in the 25th MARCH 2014 video mentioned at the top.

 

While the MARCH vids mentioned at the top do not show the handrail signs, multiple SV images of MAY-JUL 2014 clearly show three advert boards on the HISP, as do other pics and vids from the vantage point of the footbridge overlooking the HISP/TATT location; as well as two streetview vids, one which that points straight at the HISP entrance, recorded in Fall 2014, and another that was shot on the sidewalk at the HISP entrance in Summer 2014.

 

Now, anons might gather this information and discover contradictions that confound dating the EMB and CH pics as a single series of images all taken during the same week, if not same few days. At this point we may have two [2] sets of bookends. IDK.

 

2 MARCH - bollards match MAY 2012 and CH1.

 

5 MARCH - fatal accident related to memorial at one of the bollards.

 

15 MARCH and 25 MARCH no advert boards in evidence at HISP handrails.

 

MAY 2014 - JUL 2014 advert boards match EMB pics.

 

In addition, the security camera that Q confirmed, via an SV image from MAY 2012, and which no longer is available in GOOMAPS as far as I can tell, is NOT in evidence in SV MAY 2014 nor in the ST PAT's vid of 15 MARCH 2014. The camera reappears in SV JUL 2014. From this we might speculate that the security camera was gone from its perch between 15 MAR and sometime in MAY 2014 – which would be within the bounds of the bookends for the interval that we have so far narrowed for the EMB/CH pics.

 

  1. The HISP handrail boards may not have been present in early MARCH 2014, which would mean EMB pics were taken later when those boards appeared and remained into the summer.

 

  1. The appearance of the memorial on one bollard, and the appearance of the foldable temporary bollards, both followed the fatal accident, presumably of 5 MARCH 2014; these may not have appeared together during some interval in MARCH prior to 25 MARCH 2014.

 

  1. The stock photo of 2 MARCH 2014 more closely matches Q's CH1 pic than any other pictorial evidence in 2014 that we so far have. This lends support to the notion that the bollard situation had not changed until after the accident as per item 2 above. However, it also provides an interval from MAY 2012 to 2 MARCH 2014 during which the traffic bollards resembled CH1.

 

Now the contradiction between the HISP signs and the bollards could be waved away due to the ambiguity of the blurry view of the handrails in our MARCH evidence. And we would then depend on other evidence, such as the rooftop shroud at Westminster Palace, to bookend the NOT BEFORE period before the interval during which EMB/CH pics were taken.

 

But.

 

Where we have two forms of independent evidence supporting the same bookends, we have a stronger basis for conclusions. Where evidence is contradictory, a weaker basis.

 

So, for now, the HISP boards are on the backburner, for me at least, while keeping an eye out for more clear evidence of their appearance during MARCH 2014, or earlier. That is a point worth noting - so far there is no earlier evidence of those 3 boards until SV MAY 2014. A single board does appear in previous summer evidence but does not resemble either of the 3 of CH1 nor does other signage at the entrance.

 

Likewise, need to keep an eye for appearance of the security camera in MARCH 2014 or earlier that year or that winter. And, just a reminder, there was a small sign on the wall at the sidewalk by the HISP for which I have no other evidence than what appeared in EMB pics.

Those boards seemed to be a spring/summer thing for a couple, maybe three, years, but did not appear later nor earlier. Guess that is why it frustrates me that we have no definitive evidence that narrows when they first appeared in early 2014, or that winter.

This is a snippet from a vid posted 18 APR 2014. Shows the back of three advert boards on HISP handrail.

 

Same vid showed partly dismantled shroud scaffolding on rooftop work at Westminster Palace. Fits with prev werk on dating EMB pics based on that feature.

Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me. Do anons recall finding in SV the image that was posted by an anon and with which Q confirmed the location of the security camera? It is not there now, for MAY 2012, but maybe it never was. The image that anon posted has been cropped, I think, to ommit the usual GOOMAP signifiers. Although he could have used a differ app than I am familiar with.

 

Q drew our attention to the location of the camera; that was not necessary, really, but it may have meaning we missed so far. Especially now that the same image is unavailable.

 

That is, I do not find it. Can anons take a looksee for themselves, MAY 2012?

 

Perhaps the missing camera in MAY 2014 also carries some significance; the camera reappeared summer of 2014 but since has gone missing. Not there to this day.

The 3 advert boards on the HSIP handrails were in place by MAY 2014.

 

The following APR, in 2015, there were 3 differently coloured boards and by MAY there were 4 boards on the handrails. The next SPRING, in 2016, 3 boards, again, but the HISP had changed its colours to mainly pink and that is not a Q match. And the boards were gone, again, by SUMMER 2016 and did not appear subsequently.

 

Going by the changes in the boards during the SPRING of 2015 and then also 2016, could speculate that there was a pattern of updating these after the winter season. IF that was the case, then, would expect the first 3 boards of 2014 to have appeared after winter – in MAR-APR-MAY. So if we could find evidence of the 3 Q-matched boards in early SPRING, we may have a bookend.

 

The EMB/CH pics would match such an appearance of 3 boards on the handrails at HISP. Our pics could have been taken earlier, therefore. But we do not have that evidence yet.

 

At least not clearly, yet.

 

The ST PAT's day vid has been enhanced, quite cleanly, and have taken a closer look. Tantalizingly, there is a very good match between this vid's view of HISP's handrails and the EMPTY handrails of JUL 2012 which serves as noice reference point. IF this pans out, then, Q's pics could not have been taken earlier than 17/18 MARCH 2014. The boards would have been hung in place during the interval between that date and 25 MARCH 2014 on which a vid was recorded of the memorial and the temp foldable bollards at the traffic islands next to Corinthia Hotel.

 

HOWEVER, the evidence in the ehance vid remains somewhat ambiguous, because while the match is almost perfect between its view of the HISP handrails and the empty handrails seen in SV JUL 2012, it is possible to discern a fairly good match with the 3 boards that appeared in SV MAY 2014 and, in turn, EMB pics. This is a good but match but not nearly as good as the empty handrails.

 

Makes my head hurt. Kek.

 

So IF the advert boards were in place on 17 MARCH 2014, then, the bookend is pushed farther back toward the winter of 2013/2014, based on available evidence for the HISP handrails. Of course, we have other evidence, such as the shroud on the rooftop beside Big Ben. But, once again, if we can find pics of these advert boards between SEP 2013 and 25 MARCH 2014, then, we'd have a better bookend BEFORE which the Q pics were not taken. As noted earlier, there may have been a pattern whereby these boards were setup for SPRING 2014, 2015, 2016 – can imagine the HISP menu being updated annually during the start of each new year.

 

Having said allllll that, well, the vids and pics discussed will be posted soon and you all can judge for yourselves.

 

In sum, my tentative conclusion is that the handrails were empty on 17 MARCH 2014, but there remains a lesser chance that the 3 boards were in place on that date. That chance is good enough that it can not be ruled out entirely.

 

Subsequently, the bookend for NOT BEFORE narrows the interval during which the Q pics were taken to 17/18 MARCH 2014 - 24/25 MARCH 2014. That's about 7 days, Tuesday to the following Monday. Weekender.

 

Still on the hunt for anything that might solidify that NOTE BEFORE bookend but am very open to wherever the evidence takes us, natch.

For clarity, it looks like the boards were NOT in place 17 MARCH 2014; if the HISP menu was upgraded each later winter or early spring, then, the 3 boards were put into place sometime LATER in MARCH 2014.

 

IF it turns out the boards were in place on 17 MARCH 2014, then, the bookend is pushed back earlier to what the shrouded rooftop work would indicate.

 

Think that 25 MARCH 2014 is a solid bookend for NOT AFTER. And given the stock photo of 2 MARCH 2014 which is a strong Q match, and given the fatal accident on 4 MARCH 2014, it seems reasonable to assume the temporary foldable bollards, and the memorial, were set in place, perhaps on separate start dates, during the very interval that the Q pics were taken.

That missing security camera is niggling. Q's posts at the time referred to 2015/2016 but the confirmation of the camera used a pic from 2012. I recall noticing the bike stall of blue boris chariots in the pic, but not in CH1 pic. That was the first clue that the dates were calling for a dig. Little did I know then THAT I'd still be interested in digging all this time later. 2015/2016 also roughly corresponds with the switch from blue to red bikes when the sponsorship changed hands. Likewise, the TATT's funnel figured into this.

 

To me this adds to the intrigue of the missing security camera that, supposedly was used to take those pics of the pedestrians crossing the junction. If not there 17 MARCH to MAY 2014, then?

 

Suppose it was meant NOT to be there, purposefully, but actually was? For a brief time in the dark at that moment the 6 targets strolled across the Embankment. IDK.

 

Also, recall the image sizes of the various EMB/CH1 pics and other LONDON pics. There is an assortment of sizes but at least one taken on foot is the same, oddly, as the security camera format.

 

All this might prompt curious anons to take another looksee at these concidences.

The SEC is probing Exxon Mobil over asset valuation issues, according to a January report by the Wall Street Journal, and the matter could create a potential conflict of interest if Oh were to remain in the role, agency sources said. This issue came to the attention of SEC officials this week, the person said.

 

Oh previously served as co-leader of Paul, Weiss' anti-corruption team. During her 17 years at the firm she worked for a slew of corporations and Fortune 100 companies.

 

Oh decided to resign after U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth in a Monday order raised questions over her conduct during a deposition in the Exxon case, according to the order and the person with knowledge of the matter.

 

Brad Karp, chairman of Paul, Weiss, he could not comment on ongoing litigation, but added: "Alex is a person of the utmost integrity and a consummate professional." A representative for Exxon did not immediately provide comment.

 

While other SEC officials, including former chair Jay Clayton have had long careers in private practice, progressives have put pressure on Democratic President Joe Biden's administration to eschew industry hires due to concerns about potential conflicts of interest.

 

After her April 22 appointment, a group of advocacy groups wrote to Gensler saying they were "deeply surprised and concerned" by his choice.

 

"The SEC has failed the American people by repeatedly selecting Wall Street defense lawyers as Directors of Enforcement," said Dennis Kelleher, Chief Executive Officer of Better Markets, a Washington group advocating for Wall Street reform.

Two parking spots for motorcycles are in the vicinity, or were during the 2012-2014 period and before changes to the roadways.

 

The one on Northumberland occupied a bit of the street but on the other side of the kerb there was a Boris Bike stall, also.

 

The other one, on EMB, occupied the area on the street between Buses-only zone and the turning lane; in fact, the parking area transitioned into the left-turning lane at the junction.

 

Could have been either of these parking places, if the destination was nearby. Not sure where he worked. The write-ups refer to his being an amature actor. He may have worked in theatre under some other capacity, of course, or worked in a different field altogether. It is interesting that the fundraisers in the various photos available show mostly young women. That may have more to do with his sister than his work, however.

 

There are hints that he was very active, in an almost athletic sense, and may have partook of skydiving and runs and so forth. For a short while I dug into marathons and the like. Might be worth digging along these lines some more, IDK.

 

The Coroner's report did describe a brush with the kerb. This could have happened coming or going in either direction, I think, but keep in mind how conjested that spot of pavement can become with vehicles and pedestrians moving through from all directions both with and against the flow of traffic controlled by the lights at the EMB junction but also up at TRAF. This area by Corinthia looks almost like a free-for-all at times. A tough problem to solve with just bollards, mind. Lighting may have been very important. Yet that area is well lit even without the particular island-related lighting. Am thinking that the other bollard positions had no bollards and possible the one involved in the accident, being unlit, was unexpected by someone – whether the cyclist or another vehicle, even a bike, or a pedestrian.

 

The report made no mention of other parties in the incident, which suggests a single vehicle accident without coming right out and saying so. Makes me wonder if there was something happening, such as a sudden 'chase' that led to a bystander's fatality.

 

When considering these things, take another look at the CH pics, incuding the details of the night time shots. Almonds jumping yet?

Despite the efforts of real estate developers to turn the town into an amusement resort and an early center for aviation and motion pictures, Seal Beach became neighboring Long Beach’s tavern, brothel and gambling destination. But order and prosperity eventually prevailed to create today’s quiet residential city. Join author Larry Strawther as he tracks Seal Beach’s evolution from raucous port to cherished community.

Last year marked the 100th anniversary of the actual naming of Seal Beach (changed from Bay City in August 1913), and this year marks not only the 150th anniversary of the founding of Anaheim Landing, but also the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Marina Palace, the legendary rock and roll hotspot located in the two Quonset huts on PCH just across the Long Beach line.

 

Throughout the mid-to-late 1960s and early 1970s, the Marina Palace hosted such headliners as Ike and Tina Turner, Alice Cooper, the Seeds, Van Morrison and almost every local band trying to get a break.

 

The Marina Palace was surrounded by controversy from its beginnings, not surprising since its owner was William Robertson, the most controversial and divisive figure in Seal Beach history.

 

Robertson was a Los Angeles police detective, overseeing the force’s hotel division. He supplemented his income by “employment” (over $100,000 worth) at a number of Ballard Barron’s gambling operations in Seal Beach in the late 1930s. While there is no proof, there is much speculation that the term “employment” more likely meant a shakedown. Barron was a successful but quite independent gambler. About this same time, the New York-Chicago mob had sent Ben (Bugsy) Siegel to California to consolidate gambling operations under their umbrella — which meant using whatever it took to bring the independent gambling operators under the protection and oversight of the “outfit.” Soimetimes (as in the case of Redondo Beach gambling kingpin Les Brunneman, the “whatever else it took” ended up with two shooting attempts on his life, the second resulting in his death. There are also rumors among local old timers that Robertson had earned Siegel’s favor after informing him of a potential hit by a rival mob.

 

But Los Angeles PD investigations motivated him to abruptly resign his job in 1940. Within a couple of years, after some fights, deaths and a mysterious fire which burnt down the Seal Hotel (the center of Barron’s gambling operations), Seal Beach gamblers shifted their operations to the developing Las Vegas Strip, he began operating gambling clubs in Seal Beach.

 

When post-World War II changes made things tough for local gambling, Robertson conceived a plan which would eliminate gambling on Main Street but establish a new gambling zone on a strip of state land just north of PCH at First Street. This parcel was reclaimed from Alamitos Bay when the San Gabriel River channel was created. The gambling was limited to one operator —a “non-profit” operated by Robertson who, with Glide ‘er Inn owner Jimmy Arnerich, had also obtained a lease on the land.

Pictorial evidence for this basin shows refurb work of various stages from JAN-FEB 2015 to APR 2015; seems that the basin was emptied in at least two, possibly three, stages and re-occupied in like manner right through to APR 2016, as per SV images posted today from vantage points on PCH and E Marine Drive.

 

Dock 18 seems to be the divider between basins 2 and 3 during the refurb.

Fren, may I ask a favour? Please review the lunar/tidal in light of the questions asked regarding what may be contradictory pictorial evidence regarding the advert boards on the handrails at the HISP.

 

The ST Pat's vid of 17 MARCH 2014 has been upscaled, fairly clearly, and it looks almost certain that the handrails were empty. I use the word, certain, because it is such a very good match with SV images of 2012 when there certainly were no boards on the handrails. But I also say, almost, because there still remains need for a very clear full-on view of that area prior to the SV MAY 2014 images. AND because it is possible to discern a reasonable match between ST Pat's vid and images from SV MAY-JUN 2014. That match is not nearly as good as the empty rails, but I can not deny the ambiguity in all honesty.

 

So, IF that handrail was empty on 17 MAR 2014, then, that would push the bookend inward, to a more recent date. At this moment, we have certainty with SV MAY 2014, which is not a specific date during that month as I do not know a more narrow interval during which the imagery was recorded. I have looked for other markers on that score but to no avail, so far.

 

What IF the handrails do have advert boards? That would mean the Q pics could have been taken on or BEFORE 17 MAR 2014. The bookend would be very adjustable because of the lack of evidence for boards, at all, prior to 17 MAR 2014. Have extrapolated that for the two years later, it appeared that the boards changed each spring, which would correspond to restaurants updating their menus seasonally. However, 2014 is the first year the signs appeared there; and we have only two years with which to compare. Extrapolation is what it is but it is not hard evidence. IF this indicator is a seasonal thing, then, MAR-APR would be a reasonable stake in the ground re the SV MAY imagery for three years.

 

Being very careful to remain open until harder evidence is found. The shroud evidence for rooftop repairs moves the NOT BEFORE bookend to SEP/OCT 2013, if I recall rightly. That's a broad interval of 6 months, if the boards were in ST Pat's vid, 8 months if not.

 

Long 'context' for the simple question. Curious, very, about your view re lunar/tidal impact on interval. Has that changed much of late?

QUESTION - what lighting did the Coroner's report mention; apparently it had not been working for 3 years … which would take us back to Olympic year 2012, I think. Haven't noticed lighting on bollards BEFORE replacement of the two-legged hooped bollards and the installation of new one-legged bollards. Those were intro'd in summer of 2014; the report was issued 2015; and looks like lighting was setup 2017.

 

Anons noticed other lighting? Poorly lit before MAR 2014? Lit better before? I haven't seen that but most of the images are daytime, not dusk, dawn, or night time. Please look at the Q pics; can your eyes observe something that would make sense of this detail found in the Coroner's report?

 

Darkness to light is an apparent theme, again.

Pic related. The only KEEP LEFT traffic sign was the bollard on the island that became site of the memorial.

 

The Coroner's report did not say in which direction JPC had travelled. It is odd such a detail was not included. Perhaps the indicators were unclear. We could assume that JPC's front wheel touched the kerb, as he approached from either the junction or from under Charing Cross as that would place him on Northumberland and heading away from the camera position on the footbridge. But that is an assumption nonetheless.

 

Not to make this more complicated than need be, but consider what the report actually said and the odd way in which this 'narrative' left out basic details.

 

"On Northumberland Avenue, London, his motorcycle came into contact with the raised kerb edge of a traffic island, causing him to fall and collide with a rigid metal hooped Keep Left sign. He sustained bunt force injuries in the impact and was certified dead at the scene at 6.46am that morning."

 

First, the exacting detail of travel time and death provided a 46 minute interval. This is central London. The responders would have been there in under 10 minutes, on average, but could have been delayed in traffic. The report stated that JPC died "at the scene".

 

Second, his injuries were described as "blunt force injuries in the impact". The contextual wording is oddly ambiguous, again, as it could be read as the accident began with contact with the bollard, however, that is not what was actually stated. His injuries were sustained with his fall and collision with the bollard.

 

JPC may have slid or turned or wandered toward the island. The 'cause' was not stated as the cause of the accident. The motorcycle, not a wheel, but "his motorcycle" came into contact with the kerb and THIS caused him to fall and collide with the bollard.

 

IF he had been travelling eastward, with Tafalgar at his back and moving toward the bollard with which he collided, his motorcycle would have touched the kerb right at the bollard. This is the "western end of the traffic island". In that direction of travel, touching the kerb would cause the rider's momentum to cause a fall over, rather than into, the bollard. Seems to me. Looking at the shape of the end of the island, it is possible, that the front wheel glanced off the 'corner' of the kerb and this could cause JCB to fall sideways. IF a part of his bike, behind the front wheel, touched the kerb, then, again it seem that forward momentum would cause a fall past, not into, the bollard. This may depend on braking vs excelerating and the action of the rear wheel.

 

IF the direction of travel was from the other side, toward Trafalgar with Embankment behind, then there is ample more kerb with which to come into contact prior to reaching the lone remaining bollard situated at the western end of the island.

 

Did not find marks on the surface of the road/island that would indicate direction of travel, in the westward lane. Compared 2012 and 2014 SV images and found marks but not unique to 2014. Also note that the bollard had a very similar bend in it both in SV 2012 and SV 2014. That may suggest the rider's impact was a glancing blow - causing "Multiple Trauma".

 

I may be mistaken, but Multiple Trauma refers to more than one injury to the body, including organs, bones, and such. JPC "sustained blunt force injuries in the impact" with the rigid bollard. That suggests the multiple parts of the rider's body struck the sign, meaning that the direction of travel was westward and that the motorcycle "came into contact with the raised kerb edge" on the southern side of the island - from the westward lane with Embankment behind and Trafalgar ahead.

 

For such impacts to be lethal, it seems that the speed of travel would have been faster than during a slowed down u-turn made before coming to a controlled stop or roll. Of course, lethal impacts can happen during awkward and slower falls, too.

 

Now this is mostly conjecture, based on some details provided, and based on details oddly omitted. The lack of marks on the southern side of the road/island suggests a slower speed just prior to the accident. Likewise the close resemblance in the bend in the bollard's legs between 2012 and 2014.

 

So, on one hand, there is evidence, mostly circumstantial, that the accident was caused by something that would happen during slow speed, and on the other hand, evidence of a higher speed prior to the accident.

 

Might anons take a look at the SV images, and at vids that show travel and movement around these islands, with an eye for observations that might better inform the conjecture on how the accident occured, was caused, and aspects such as speed and direction of travel, please?

NORTHERN, not southern, side.

 

However, this typo prompts me to consider a motorcyclist turning away from an obstacle, say an sudden turn or a rolling forward by a driver crossing from north to south side of Northumberland, which would force the morotorcylist to turn left to avoid a collision.

Here is a graphic to illustrate possible direction of travel, with speculative left turn or swerve to avoid something on the northern side of the road, as the rider drove westward toward Trafalgar with Embankment behind.

 

Seems that even a slower speed could be part of a scenario in which a motorcyle contacted the kerb and the rider tumbled forward, falling into the bollard and striking it multiple times as momentum carried him forward. Would not take a head injury to make the incident lethal, seems to me.

Another possibility for a left swerve or turn might be as a result of the motorcyclist spotting lack of parking in his normal spot, say just ahead west of the island, and he attempts a leftward u-turn to head back to the parking on Embankment. Alternatively, he could have been on a road with which he was less familar and had not expected to reach the island as soon as he did.

 

In considering possibilities, must return to the available facts on the ground and as reported by Coroner. LIGHTING. At what time of day during, say MARCH, would street lighting remain a key component for visibility in this particular spot? Even in night darkness there's lots of ambient lighting - the place seems lit-up. Plus the headlamp illumination from vehicles coming and going, or even just paused in crossing or changing lanes. The headlamp on the motorcycle, too.

IF motorcyclist came from under CHARING CROSS, as per the hollow arrow, and turned right into the southern lane, heading westward, he might have bumped the island if distracted by an unexpected lack of parking just ahead. He might even have tried a right return turn into, around the island's western end, to head back toward Embankment parking. Seems like short distances requiring quicker decision marking. Add the other traffic and could be a recipe for a slower but lethal incident.

The Coroner's report stated JPC was on road in area at 6.00 on WEDNESDAY 5-MAR-2014, Sunrise that day was 6.37; so accident aprox 37 BEFORE sunrise.

This would have been about 6.45am on that day in JAN 2020, OR about 45 minutes earlier than the target time for comparison. And the lighting, to my eye, does not look so much different than in 2014.

 

Heres a short snippet with zoomed-in emphasis on the western traffic island. Note that the bollards have no internal lighting. Also the lanes have changed; and there may be different lighting I have not noticed; and the newer bollards are more reflective than the old - and there are bollards in the positions that were empty in MAR 2014.

Well, in that vid of just before sunrise on Northumberland shows the ighting was not exactly defficient. The bollard on the western end of the eastern island is missing. The bollard on the easter end of the western island is not lit-up and did not seem very reflective in the headlamps of the vehicle that crossed the road.

 

Will need to verify the lighting conditions, if possible, for the time interval of the fatal accident, but it looks like lighting probablly was more or less a non-issue.

 

That's another oddity in that narrative. A detail that may not even have been a contributing factor.

Very noice dig, fren. And the response time prolly was 10 or less minutes; we do not have certainty but high probability given, as you noted, time of day. The 46 minutes was the interval from JCP in the area, enroute to his destination, and the certification of death. That determination might have been made on site, in the ambulance, or at hospital.

 

Very much specuative here, but, for example, 10 mins to arrive, 5 mins to assess, 10 mins to transport, 5 mins in emerg. The injuries must have been devestating, which prompted my open discussion about speed and direction. If the fall happened at, say, 10 mph, would not expect such devestation, truly, but falls can be very awkward and made more dangerous than a slide off a bike at 30 mph. Hitting unmoveable objects is always a wild card, of course. Hence my observation about limited damage to the hooped bollard. It does not look like it was bent and then re-bent to an upright position, for example. IF the bike went with him, surely would expect more damage to hoop. The report's narrative may be typical of that office, IDK, but for a year-long inquiry seems scant on significant details of a one-vehicle incident.

Open question, what type of job would start around 6am in the morning in Westminster? Assuming a typical 8 hr shift, might have been a 6.30am-to-3.00pm job. He was 35 yrs old. Active in athletics and such. Amature actor. Apparently very quick learner of TAI CHI so much so he won a medal for England after starting 2 years prior. Seems he had a solid attachment to his home community youth, also. The Westminster area employs all kinds, of course, but government and tourism are very big job-wise.

In CH2, one of the night pics around the traffic islands on Northumberland across from the hotel, the bollard situation matches the day pic of the same scene - CH1.

 

We have evidence that there was a fatal accident on 5 MAR 2014 and that a memorial was setup on the one remaining two-legged hoop style bolalrd, by at least 25 MAR 2014; also by the 25th three temporary folding bollards were setup on the traffic islands. Subsequently, all of the bollards were changed to the permanent one-legged style that remain in use in that location. This means that Q's pics were shot BEFORE the apearance of the temporary bollards and the makeshift memorial.

 

Pictorial evidence exists for the bollard positions to have remained unchanged between SV MAY 2012 and 25 MAR 2014.

 

Now were have additional evidence that shows a difference between CH2 and a stock photo taken on 2 MAR 2014. This moves the NOT AFTER bookend to that date.

 

In the bottom right corner of CH2 there is a street lamp on which there is a wide rectangular sign facing away from the camera. The lamp is at the foot of the stairs to the bridge; next to the green cab driver's shack.

 

In the 2 MAR 2014 photo, there is another sign attached to the opposite side of the post and it faces the camera position from which CH2 was shot. That is also the general perspective for the other CH pics. Unfortunately none of the others show this post and the positon on which signs might have been affixed. Each of the others, particularly CH1 and ROT3, only just leave it outside the camera frame.

 

Coincidence, perhaps.

 

The second sign does not appear in SV images before, nor after, MAY 2014. it does appear in the images gathered from photo and video sources for 2-MAR TO 25-MAR; also there is a vid that was posted 1 JUN 214 which likely was recorded in MAY 2014. This means the second sign on that post was there for as long as two months AFTER CH2 had been shot. Seems like a solid bookend marker.

 

This sign is a white cross on a green field and, I think, it is a first aid sign. It has an arrow pointing to the right, or north, perhaps pointing to the park on the other side of CHARING CROSS via Embankment Place to Villiers Street. It is just out of frame in the ST PAT's vid of 17 MAR 2014 so cannot yet confirm if it was put up during that big crowd event and for some reason was left there long after. As best I can tell, it did not reappear in SV images. After the lane changes at the junction, a different second sign was put up indicating left-turning bike lane on that side of Northumberland. So cannot determine if the white cross sign was specific to the parade or not.

 

Anyway, this is another bit of stuff to firm-up one of the bookends for at least one of the CH pics.

 

in addition, this may be evidence that distinguishes, timewise, the ROT series of pics, which includes a night shot of the hotel, ROT3; that series is well-connected with the other night shots of the EMBANKMENT. That would mean there is a distinct possiblity that the tidal/lunar evidence will not fit the interval for all of these EMB/CH pics. We can keep this in mind when grappling with contradictory evidence.

 

In sum, CH2 was shot BEFORE 2 MAR 2014. CH2 shares the same bollards scenario as the other CH pics – all of which were shot at least BEFORE 25 MAR 2014. And after MAY 2012.

 

Connecting the CH pics with the EMB pics through other evidence is of course still possible; but if there is evidence for pics taken AFTER 2 MAR 2014 we can acknowledge the contradiction without struggling to shoehorn all the pics into the same interval.

To be clear, fren, the daytime pic of THE CORINTHIA HOTEL, CH1, has the same bollard scenario as does CH2, but only CH2 can currently be directly dated as having been shot BEFORE 2 MAR 2014.

 

The stock photo of 2 MAR 2014 is a daytime pic that closely resembles CH1 but the important difference is that while the stock photo shows the lamp post with the white cross/ green field sign, that is not visible in CH1.

 

I made a typo in the graphic where I used CH1 but should have used CH2. That has been corrected.

 

The connexion between CH1 and CH2 is obviously the bollards/islands scenario. BUT, to repeat, unfortunately the daytime pic's bottom right corner excludes the lamp post that distinguishes CH2 as pre-2-MAR-2014.

 

Also, the ROT series of pics of the Embankment ends with a shot of the hotel, ROT3, but that same lamp post is kept just off camera frame. So remains possible that the EMB pics were taken in a different time interval – perhaps one that is best determined by the shrouded rooftop work behind BIG BEN, IDK.

Yes, the Embankment series was shot during the winter of 2013/2014, based on the shrouded work on the rooftop of Westminster Palace, behind BIG BEN. That interval was SEP/OCT 2013 TO mid-MAR/ early-APR 2014.

 

The interval can be narrowed if the tidal/lunar evidence is applied, however, the lunar evidence may be what further distinguishes the ROT series of night time pics. So we have a bright moon in ROT1 which may contradict the NOT BEFORE evidence of CH2. Both are night pics and it would be natural to 'read' them as being part of a seamless sequence when viewed side-by-side. But now it looks like the ROT series is distinguishable from CH2, which is part of a CH series, starting with the daytime pic, CH1, and ending with another night pic, CH3. CH2 and CH3 both seem to have been taken by a mobile camera carried by an asset who was on foot on or near the stairs to bridge.

 

These images certainly do beg to be organized by geographic factors, and we have done that in several ways, so as to find the detailed inter-connexions across the LONDON PICs.

 

This is all best illustrated rather than described in text. Hence the struggle to complete the video project on Q's London drops continues.

CH2, only CH2, can directly be dated as having been taken before 2 MAR 2014.

 

The extent to which that might also apply to the other London Pics is to be determined. My guess, at this time, is that there are at least three different intervals captured in the London Pics, as a whole. And that there may be moar.

 

The EMB series includes CH2 which now may itself serve as a sort of bookend for the ROT subset. London2847 may stand outside of both subsets; likewise LisaMI6. For now these are all inter-connected with a few details within the camera frames, but that is based moar on geogrpahy than on chronology. A very strong chronological connexion is the shrouded rooftop work; another is the light pattern on Millbank Tower. These connexions hint at closeness in time but do not reveal a sequence within that time. At least not yet.

 

Of course, the black box pic at the transit shelter on Victoria is clearly on a different time interval - out by a couple of years or so.

 

All said, the London Pics have continued to renew the meaningn of the notion that we have more than we know.

All interdasting possibilities. Please pursue that line of thought by reviewing the vids available re the timing of phases on the traffic control lights. You may be onto something significant. Been posting such vids for some time now, including one to which added an actual timer. There are others but keep in mind that the lanes changed in 2015/2016 and that prolly altered some of the phases coming and going as well as at the junction.

For additional clarity, the vid of the ST PAT'S DAY PARADE showed no advert boards on the HISPANIOLA's handrails, showed the Q-confirmed traf cam not on its perch, showed a match with the rooftop shroud behind BIG BEN, and was recorded on 16 MAR 2014, the Sunday before the bank holiday on the 17th.

 

So by at least one important detail that vid matched Q's Embankment pics, including LisaMI6 and London2847 as ROT1 to 3. BUT on three significant details that vid on that day was NOT a Q-match.

Recap.

 

The bollards/islands in CH1, CH2, and CH3 match a stock photo of the CORINTHIA HOTEL that was taken on 2 MAR 2014. Also match with other details such as the bike docking station stall that had been removed and the other one which remained.

 

BUT that stock photo showed a sign on a lamp post that is NOT in CH2. That part of the scene is not within the camera frames of CH1 nor CH2. Likewise for ROT3. This means that we can only extrapolate, for now, on those other pics; but we have direct evidence for CH2 having been taken BEFORE 2 MAR 2014.

 

IN ADDITION, we have a vid recorded 16 MAR 2014 which has key points that match Q's Embankment and Corinthia Hotel pics BUT which also is a mismatch on other significant features. The lack of advert boards in the ST PAT vid means it pre-dated LONDON2847 and ROT1, which show the three boards in place.

 

The lack of the Q-confirmed traf cam means the ROT series of pics could not have been taken on 16 MAR 2014 unless the cam was put back on its perch that night; or, I suppose, unless it was taken down in the dark of Saturday night or early Sunday morning. For now, I will treat 16 MAR 2014 as a marker that extended into MAY 2014, because the traf cam did not show up in SV images until later. More evidence - direct or circumstantial - would or could change this, of course.

 

Right, so CH2, and likely CH3, were taken BEFORE 2 MAR 2014.

 

And the Embankment pics were taken during the same interval as the ST PAT'S vid where that interval is based on the shroud – SEP/OCT 2013 to MAR/APR 2014. We can narrow that interval to exclude APR, I think based on the shroud related evidence, but I keep that month in due to lack of certainty between the 'taken on' versus the 'posted on' dates of the online sauces. Generally, leaning toward excluded APR 2014 eventually, if not for more and stronger evidence.

 

Okay, so we have an interval that is marked by the sign that appears on the CH scene 2 MAR 2014 and persisted for several weeks past the time when the bollards were replaced. The memorial came after the fatal accident of 5 MAR 2014; it does not appear in any of the Q pics, at least not clearly, and yet there are details in CH1 the daytime pic – that hint at the possibility that the Q pic was taken between the time of the accident and the setup of that memorial; the first DIRECT evidence we have of the memorial is 25 MAR 2014. So barring more clear and direct evidence that CH1 depicts some sign that the accident had already occurred, will proceed as if CH1 also pre-dates 25 MAR and, relatedly, likely pre-dates 5 MAR 2014.

 

BUT CH1 lacks direct evidence that would place it in the same interval as CH2. If we can find such evidence, then, it would be moved with greater certainty to earlier than 2 MAR 2014, along with the other two CH pics.

 

Likewise with ROT3 which does not show the second sign on the lamp post because that area is just outside of the camera frame. ROT3 was captured with the traf cam that apparently was missing from 16 MAR to later that summer. The other pics of CORINTHIA HOTEL were taken with handheld camers, it seems.

 

Will need to draw a timeline to illustrate these things. FOR NOW we have an interval AFTER 2 MAR 2014 onward to the summer, an interval between 2 MAR 2014 and 16 MAR 2014, and a broader interval that runs up to 25 MAR 2014.

 

As we do not have direct evidence for the first appearance of the advert boards on the handrails, we can only use what we do have which is SV MAY 2014; with the ST PAT's vid, we can say the boards showe dup AFTER 16 MAR 2014. That makes some sense as per the conjecture that these boards displayed new Spring menus for the restaurant. It is fairly good circumstantial evidence so will proceed as if the boards appeared sometime in APR 2014, as a sort of compromise between the conjecture and the hard evidence of MAY 2014. Better evidence would change that, natch.

 

And this presents a bit of a contradiction with the shroud evidence, doesn't it? We could use early-APR 2014 as a marker, or late-MAR 2014, and thereby connect the shroud with the boards, timewise.

The lunar and tidal evidence may well save the day, if only as additional circumstantial evidence that strengthens one or the other marker/update that we have on the chalkboard. I would really lurve to find a clear image with that lone sign, Open Hours sign I think, on the wall between HISP entrance and the Bazelgette memorial; but only if it comes with a solid date taken, kek.

 

After all that, consider that we also have the interval based on the days during which Winter Wonderland was open in DEC 2013/ JAN 2014. And the interval of the RED BUS pic, NOV 2013/ 23 MAR 2014, which may or may not be narrowed by the evidence in the PICCADILLY pic's interval.

 

From this we might take stabs on sequencing the various pics either as subsets or as full series or as individual pics. Please see what you can make of the sequencing because the process can draw out details or new ideas that enrich the digz.

Yes this is another time where evidence seems contradictory.

 

  1. LONDON 2947 and ROT1 were taken AFTER 16 MAR 2014, as per the absence of advert boards on the HISP handrails on that date versus the presence of those boards in these Q pics.

 

  1. The traf cam was not on its perch on 16 MAR 2014, and we have no evidence of its reappearnce until later that summer. So ROT1 could have been taken only BEFORE 16 MAR 2014.

 

How to resolve the contradiction? Apart from speculation, that is. The evidence within 16 MAR 2014 is insufficient to establish the date of ROT1.

 

Are the inter-connexions between LONDON2847 and the ROT pics strong enough to prevent prying them apart? The advert boards unite them very well but we do not have enough to define the handrail interval. The vehicles at the junction and in parking areas provide strong links with ROT1 and ROT2 and LOND2847. That much, I think, makes a solid bond across those three pics.

 

Which means the contradiction is extended and is not limited to ROT1.

 

It might even extend to LisaMI6, based on the appearance of the same individual, wearing the same clothes, in both pics. The lighting on the Millbank Tower looks very close to the pattern in the ROT pics, but not an exact match. No matter, the resemblance is close enough that the differences could help with sequencing on the same day/night, maybe. The individual's appearance seems the same in both pics so that would not contradict this possibility.

 

But having extended the contradiction with 16 MAR 2014, does that help or hinder its resolution? Hopefully it helps because we must eliminate as many contradictions as possible; in fact, to strengthen the conclusions on sequencing we'd need to search for contradictions as well as resolve that present themselves.

 

Which means this one is a real bugger that can not be glossed over. We will not be done if it continues to haunt the preriphery.

 

Here is a start, I think. The fact that we have the ROT series means that the traf cam was NOT missing AFTER 16 MAR 2014. At least for some time betweem then and MAY 2014. Those Q pics are the direct evidence.

 

Alternatively …

 

Can anons find coroboration of empty handrail on or near the 16th? If, on the contrary, we find strong evidence of boards on the handrail, then the contradiction goes away. This is another way to resolve. The vid evidence is very strong, in my view, but am always open to more evidence and then follow it where it takes us.

 

Another path might be to examine the differences in the pic formats across the London pics. Some are wider, some are higher res, some seem handheld, others fixed. Put the specs on the table and consider the type of sensor or lenses that might have been used, given the 2013/2014 period. Might this have anything to do with the LG display in Piccadilly Circus, IDK.

 

Any sign that other sec cams went missing during the timeframes we have used? The WW pics kinda look like fixed positions but the format, IDK.

Assuming the green fielded/ white cross sign is for first aid, prolly pointing at the little green structure, cabman shelter.

 

Good spot for breakfast, apparently.

 

Hours limited, closes at about 2PM and all day on SUNDAYs and BANK HOLIDAYs. So not in normal operation during 16 MAR 2014, parade held on Sunday. But possibly open as a temporary first aid service that day.

 

The prob with 'temporary' is how well fixed, and high, it was on that lamp post. Looked permanent, but it was not. See pic of the secure strapping. A closer looker makes me think the straps are metallic rather than nylon; but if nylon, would be very secure even after inclement weather so coulda lasted few months before being taken down. Kek, can imagine the staff at the cabman shelter being queried about First Aid and taking things into their own hands as it were.

Could be, but haven't spotted one yet, fren. There is the painted green siding of the cabman shelter that might produce a good reflection, just not so focused coz size of structure would prolly reflect moar, or moar points. Still something to pursue. Maybe look for night shots of that area?

Basic schedule. Excellent high res pic of marina during the project but some time before publication. THE PIC itself IS NOT DATED.

In the pic, looks like slip 10 in Basin 1 might have been occupied. And the SEAPORT MARINA HOTEL is clearly still standing without the green fence surrounding its streetsides. The parking lot pavement showed a diff in darkness in this pic; but the depiction matches GE images for APR 2014; however, a screencap of avid taken just before APR 2017 does show the half-done Basin 3 as described in the article.

 

Peering into the slips, looks like wooden decking, so this noice high res pic prolly was taken BEFORE the rebuild work began. Take another look at slip 10 in Basin 1

 

The article made mention of new restrooms buildings. These might be useful to mark passage of time.

Ruff vid used in prep for research on bollards/islands. When reviewing, look for missing traf cam, back of first aid sign on lamp post, memorial on island, as well as other bits from MAY 2014 including 'extra' foldable bollards/signs leaning against posts; looks like drop-off crew passed along a route for some upcoming road event and the setup will take place shortly. At first thot these indicated the foldable temp bollard signs on the islands had just been put up, coz the extras, but we have vid evidence of those already setup by 25 MAR 2014. This does show some of the light sources that might have caused reflections on vehicles seen in London Pics, however, most of those coloured sources are diff than 2013/2014 re the Playhouse Theatre's marquee underwent change from SPAMALOT to 1984. Unfortunately, no vid of that SV scene yet; gotta say, tho, that the SPAMALOT signage does not seem to match with Q's pics – the previous marquee signage looks like a better match but that's going farther back than we've bargained for so far. Magic eye, lads, Magic eye.

The show has been in the capital for a fair few years now, originally opening at the Savoy Theatre in 2009 before disappearing from the capital and reappearing at the Playhouse the following January [2010].

 

“Dreamboats & Petticoats” continues at the Playhouse Theatre and is now taking bookings to its end date of Saturday 4th August 2012.

 

So, uninterrupted January 2010 to 4 August 2012. The bollards and traffic islands in SV imagery of MAY 2012 closely resemble the Q pics. That is relevant because CH2, and possibly also CH3, were shot BEFORE 2 MAR 2014, based on details in a stock photo taken on that date.

 

ROT1 is another night time shot that featured The Corinthia Hotel inside the camera frame. The ROT series was shot with a traffic camera that had been perched above the stairs to the footbridge. We have dated that series from BEFORE APR 2014, based on elements in the three pics.

 

(That traffic camera does not appear in SV images of MAY 2014 nor in a vid of ST PAT's Day parade taken on Sunday 16 MAR 2014. Whether or not it reappeared during the interval between those dates, we have not yet determined.)

 

Here is another night pic of CH, M1Y 2011, showing the other side of Northumberland, across from the Playhouse and EMBANKMENT PLACE. Look closely at the traffic island and bollard positions. Compare with another CH pic, daytime, that was taken sometime before FEB 2013 and which also closely resembles Q's pics and SV images from MAY 2012.

 

Here is an infographic from back when discovering the details of the Corinthia related pics.

 

This serves to illustrate how unchanged that particular traffic island and bollard location had been BEFORE the London Pics there were taken. With 2 MAR 2014 as a new NOT AFTER date, we are missing a corresponding NOT BEFORE date to bookend the interval during which these Q pics could have been taken of the hotel.

 

We do have evidence that the bike docking station had a stall along the kerb of NORTHUMBERLAND, something to which I think Q drew attention when he confirmed the location of the traffic camera based on SV image of MAY 2012. It was removed during the interval between that date and MAY 2014 as per another set of SV images.

 

So far that still means a NOT BEFORE date of MAY 2012, for CH2, and prolly also CH3. And a firm NOT AFTER date of 2 MAR 2014. That is a wide set of bookends, 1 YEAR 2 MONTHS.

 

Looks like we can sequence these two subsets of EMB pics. CH2 and CH3 taken before the ROT pics, at least tentatively.

 

And taken before the Winter Wonderland pics, given the dates that theme park was open from mide DEC 2013 to first week of JAN 2014.

 

The RED BUS pic, and prolly the two PICCADILLY pics, taken BEFORE 23 MAR 2014 and no earlier than 31 OCT 2013, based on details within the RED BUS photo.

 

And the most recent pic, we know, was the BLACK BOX at Shelter S because of details in the sequencing of the labels affixed to its side by SUMMER of 2018.

 

Have found a stash of boris bike images taken around that docking station and will come back with what observations i might make.

This is a night pic, long exposure that produced the neon-like beams, that shows the islands and bollard positions on 15 APR 2013.

 

Meanwhile, will post a snippet from a vid of the 2013 RIDE London which was held on 4 AUG and which showed that the bike stall was gone and that all three bollard positions were occupied by a two-legged hoop style bollard, as well as the foldable signs that are used during road events such as this bike race.

Also in the vid is evidence that the kerbside bike hire stall on Northumberland had been removed by 4 AUG 2013; Q's CH pics was taken after that stall had been removed.

 

This vid also suggest the possibility that the foldable traffic signs/ temp bollards that appear in the 25 MAR 2014 vid were setup for a road event rather than setup in response to the fatal accident. Of this may not be an either/or; both things could be true at same time.

 

For example, on 4 AUG 2013, RIDE London 100 was held and this type of sign was used on the isame slands near Corinthia Hotel and on the same bollard positions as on 25 MAR 2014. Two of the three bollard positions were empty and on each a sandbag held down a foldable traffic sign; the remaining third bollard stood on its two legs without a foldable traffic sign.

 

That may have been because the racers travelled westward, rathr than toward that end of that island, however, one of the other two bollard positions did face toward the east which would have not faced the oncoming cyclists. This leads me to think that in 2014 the foldable traffic signs were setup for reason/s other than the fatal accident.

 

On the other hand, one of the bollard positions can be seen in MAY 2012 SV images as having been recently damaged or cut-off its legs; if that was due to a road accident, then, these foldable traffic signs may have been setup in response to that incident, just as we had assumed had been done for the 5 MAR 2014 accident.

Clear view of the lamp post that would later be adorned with a First Aid sign; of the edge of the bike hire docking station stall that would later be removed, leaving square anchor scars on the sidewalk at the kerbside; and of the windows and signs of the hotel itself. Also provides a good idea of how the Playhouse Theatre lights, especially the marquee, play off reflective surfaces such as passing vehicles. Good view of all three bollard positions on the two islands.

 

The precise date of the recording is unknown at this time but fair guess would be late winter 2013, based on foilage and clothes worn by pedestrians.

Noice. For SV, there is a sort of 'blank' in the chronology that pretty much covers the interval during which SPAMALOT was on the marquee. Coincidentally also covers the timing of the removal of the bike stall along the kerb of NORTHUMBERLAND. Finding more on either would help date the other, basically.

 

Will need more evidence to determine if the reflections in Q pics is useful in figuring what was on the marquee at the time of shooting the pics. Both DREAMBOATS and SPAMALOT had blue in display.

IF the marque was SPAMALOT, then, those night pics, CH2 and CH3, could not have been taken AFTER that musical closed, early APR 2014. That jives ok with the 2-MAR evidence. So that would be some support that would strenghten the bookend.

 

IF the marquee was DREAMBOATS? That would push the bookend farther back, before SPAMALOT

Note sure about the gap between 4 AUG 2012 and 14 NOV 2012. Would the theatre be busy with prep for the changeover from one musical to the next?

 

Doesn't matter if DREAMBOATS signage does not match the CH2 and CH2 reflections. BUT if there is good match, then, that 3 month gap in 2012 might be important. In that case, these night shots of CH could have been taken about a year earier than the other EMB pics … and the rest at PICCADILLY and WINTER WONDERLAND.

 

So this is an important bit to firm-up one way or the other.

Review that terrific night time pic of the DREAMBOATS signage. Same in 2011 as in 2012. Two sources of much clear bue. Plus the always red 'PLAYHOUSE' lights above. There are other signs/posters closer to ground level, also same blue.

 

Have not spotted green or blue traffic related lights nor intermitten flashing lights elevated above roofs of vehicles. IF there is something, good, and if not, the ole process of elim moves us along.

 

Anons, please do check the night vid of CH that was prolly taken during our target interval of winter 2013/2014. The vid came with some colour mapping that made it more golden; I do not think that is neutral but it is there for a noice warm effect with the bright lights. Not sure if there was some manipulatin of light sources to fill-in for that particular recording as it was done for the hotel's promotion. Colours prolly post-recording and mostly magic in editing, looks to me.

We now have pictorial evidence that CH1 pre-dates two sources; one dated 25 MAR 2014 and the other dated 2 MAR 2014.

 

Pic related.

 

There are two signs that appear in these source images but which do not show-up in CH1.

 

The FIRST AID sign appears in both sources but does NOT appear in CH2; the significance is that rhwew is a sign on a post on WHITEHALL PLACE at the bike hire docking station which appears in both of these MAR 2014 sources. This sign does not appear in CH1 nor in CH2 although the post does. The same is so for CH3. This means that both CH1 and CH2 AND CH3 were taken BEFORE 2 MAR 2014 and neither was taken AFTER 2 MAR 2014.

 

There may be more re parking restrictions and vehicles inside the camera frames that may help narrow the time of day of both the day and the night shots. Something that anons might dig re City documents/archives.

 

Also, while the makeshift memorial on the traffic island appears in the video that was recorded 25 MAR 2014, it does not appear in the stock photo of 2 MAR 2014. Nor does it appear in any of the London Pics. In effect, this places BOTH the accident and the memorial outside of the interval during which the London Pics in this area could have been taken. Whether or not the temporary foldable signs were put up close to the accident date no longer has a direct bearing on this bookend.

 

ROT1 was worth another look. We already knew that the memorial did not appear in ROT1 and now we also know that this other sign does not appear. This means that NONE of the London Pics of the EMB/CH were taken AFTER 2 MAR 2014.

 

We had, with confidence, dated the EMB pics by the shrouded scaffold behind Big Ben; it was late MAR/ early APR 2014. Now we have the evidence that indicates we were too conservative. The 2 MAR 2014 is the new bookend, based on the links between the EMB pics and the CH pics. The best connexion may be this WHITEHALL PLACE sign that does NOT appear in any of the pics but which was in its place at least between 2 MAR and 25 Mar 2014.

 

Anons, please double-check this reasoning and please do so skeptically so as to test it for flaws. Should this bookend become firm, then, we can look to the other bookend – the beginning of the interval during which the EMB/CH pics were taken. Again, sequencing may help in that regard. Q's sequence in posting may or may not matrch the sequence in which these pics were shot. GRANTED, taking or capturing images has a double-meaning when it comes acquisition of pictorial evidence.

By the way, in a previous vid made to illustrate the group that stood on the traffic island with the memorial, made an error; dated the original recording as 23 MAR but it was actually 24 MAR 2014. Will not correct that in the recording; but now can work with the signs instead of the memorial to date the CH pics.

 

Apologies for any confusion caused by my mistake. THE difference of 2 days may not seem like much, and it turns out it is not super significant, but accuracy in doucmenting our digz is essential. Error acknowledged and will be rectified.

Here's a curiosity.

 

In CH1 there is a yellow bicycle leaning against posts at the corner of sidewalk at the hotel. Shows up in SV MAY 2014. AND, possibily, also in CH2 and CH3.

 

Yes, and ROT1.

 

Do you recall the odd way the man wore his shoes in the WW pic of the coaster ride? Looked like tongue of boots lifted the pant legs? What if that was just the appearance of pant legs that are tucked, out of habit, when riding a bike? IDK.

 

Yellow bike is there in all pics with THAT location in frame AND in SV about 3 months later. Could be a coincidence.

Right. The starting value is that this yellow bike in that location has connected all of these pics that also show the two signs that distinguish the interval as not before 2 MAR 2014. iF that yellow bike can be found elsewhere in London Pics, for exmample, then, we might have something else.

 

In later SV the yellow is replaced by a red and then a bue bike. Don't know if locked bikes can be ticketed. This one is locked with both wheels still attached; hints of it being left for very short time or within sight of the rider? Night and Day, too.
