Anons, I’ve started calling stores and asking about their mask policy. If they say they must be worn, I then politely ask to speak to the managerrrr. 9 out of 10 times they tell me it’s store policy but I would not be hassled if I don’t wear one. Then I go into the store without one. The second I get told to put one on, I say, “I called and talked to Dave and he said it was ok”. Usually they just walk away. A few times they do go get “Dave” and I remind him of our conversation. I’m telling you it works.
Sometimes when the manager on the phone won’t budge, I politely tell them well, sorry, I won’t be shopping at your store then.
My state has no more mask mandate so each store sets dumb rules. Your mileage may vary.
