Don't come to Texas - it's being flooded and any place that becomes flooded eventually becomes corrupted. If you're able to move anywhere I'd search "small town" and investigate the policies of the local municipality.

If you decide on Texas, "steer" clear of Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth or Austin. Gulf side is risky because of hurricanes.
