Protesters have been gathering at Queen's Park in Toronto in front of the legislature for well over a year, and the protest on Saturday, May 15, was the largest showing since the demonstrations began in 2020.

Thousands, maybe even as many as 50,000, took to the park and streets to rally against the continuing lockdowns in Ontario. Neither the demonstrators, nor the residents in Toronto seem to be adhering to the recently-extended 'Stay-at-Home' order issued by Premier Doug Ford, as protesters gathered over the weekend for all types of events.

Whether it was pro-Palestine, pro-Israel or anti-lockdown demonstrations, no tickets appeared to be given in Toronto over the weekend for violating the government order. Simply looking around, the average person wasn't adhering to the 'rules' either.

On May 16, 2021 Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (when talking about Israel/Palestine protests) mentioned that all have the right to protest; something that provincial orders have contradicted for many months:

However, Canadian politicians have recently been chiming in on pro-freedom demonstrations, with Calgary's Mayor Nenshi claiming they are “thinly veiled” in “white supremacy.”

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh also believes this is part of “extreme right-wing ideology,” connecting such viewpoints due to protesters "brazenly not follow[ing] public-health guidelines,” as he recently told reporters.

The overwhelming response from protesters was that this is likely an attempt to divide while diminishing the true meaning behind the protest.

None of the demonstrators interviewed mentioned they had ever heard any race-related discussions at the events, nor did they believe that to be the thesis of anyone or anything they experienced since attending the get-togethers.

The Prince Albert, Saskatchewan church received the fine after a 100 day revival where they drew the ire of the mayor and a local First Nations Chief.

The church was blamed for a COVID-19 outbreak and called a superspreader event responsible for cases across several jurisdictions.

But, the outbreak may have actually spread to the church from the local casino. The church was fined and ordered closed for 30 days; however, the casino was not.

Closing the church cut the marginalized people Pastor Vern Temple works with everyday off from their only lifeline.

Temple feeds, houses, clothes and helps the homeless in PA get clean. He cares for them, and the church puts most of their resources to that ministry. He’s saving lives and reminding the forgotten people of PA that God loves them.

That fine, the largest COVID fine in the country at the time it was issued in October, would put an end to much of the work Temple does. Rebel News went to Prince Albert to visit the church in the impoverished skid row of the city, where crime and drug addiction are rampant, to offer the church some help.

There's been some friction between the mayor, Greg Dionne, and this church in the past with Temple telling me that the city wants to take his building and demolish it to use the lot for something else.

But the prosecutor was not! Miller tells me the crown is declining to take the ticket to trial and have thrown out the fines.

It’s a moral victory.

The mayor may have been able to push authorities into fining the church but a wise prosecutor was not willing to make the case that confiscating five figures in cash from a poverty church, helping the vulnerable in a derelict area of town would be in the public interest.

Pediatric organizations urge Ontario to re-open schools citing “mental health crisis”

A dozen pediatric organizations including SickKids are urging the Ontario government to make reopening schools a priority, citing a “crisis in children’s mental health” as a result of COVID-19 pandemic closures.

“The impact of school closures and the resulting social isolation on the health and well-being of children and youth has become impossible to ignore. Getting Ontario’s students back into the classroom, with appropriate safety measures in place, for the remainder of this school year and for summer learning must be a priority now,” claimed the letter.

“We are witnessing a crisis in children’s mental health with a dramatic increase in the utilization of acute mental health services. Schools play an essential role in the recovery process. In-person school provides students with routine and structure, accountability, socialization and recognition of abuse and neglect.”

Other signatories to the open letter include the Canadian Pediatric Society, the Pediatricians Alliance of Ontario, Ottawa Community Pediatrician Network, Children First Canada, McMaster Children’s Hospital, the Coalition for Kids and several other similar groups.

According to the letter, the signatories have three requests: for schools to reopen “immediately”, for summer school learning to take place in-person and for schools to resume regular scheduling in September.

“With the decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations in Ontario by over 50%, and with more than 50% of adults at least partially vaccinated, the decision to re-open schools at this time will have minimal, if any, impact on the health care system,” reads the open letter.

Recently, the Ontario government announced that it would continue forcing kids to learn virtually until a “consensus” is reached with teachers unions and public health advisors.

“On the one hand, we have some doctors saying they want to open the schools. On the other hand, we have the teachers’ unions saying we can’t do that right now,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said earlier this week.

“We need public health doctors, teachers and labour partners to agree on the best path forward … And we simply don’t have that right now.”

This is not the first time that children’s health specialists have raised the alarm about the growing mental health crisis faced by the province’s youth.

In April, the Ottawa Community Pediatricians Network warned that the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns were causing more and more children to report serious mental health issues.

Lego has unveiled a new LGBTQ play set to virtue signal ahead of Pride month.

The company announced the 346 piece “Everyone is Awesome!” set on Twitter.

“We’re super excited to reveal our new set – LEGO Everyone is Awesome! Because we celebrate every LEGO builder #LEGO #EveryoneIsAwesome,” Lego said in their post.

Vice President of Design at the LEGO Group Matthew Ashton wrote a lengthy statement about why he designed the play set, saying that there needs to be more LGBTQ representation for children.

“Being quite an effeminate kid, I was constantly told by different adults around me what I should and shouldn’t play with, that I needed to behave like a ‘real boy’ and to toughen up. I was dissuaded from doing the things that came most naturally to me. I think many of the adults around me were doing all of this to try to protect me from getting bullied, but I was actually fine with all the kids at school. All of that has had an impact on me in many ways; it was really exhausting and kicked my confidence,” he wrote.

“So, I think by taking small steps and having products like “Everyone is Awesome” out there and people representing the LGBTQIA+ community, it allows everybody to see that things do get better over time and there is a place for everybody. That’s what’s been so important to me in getting this set out with a message that we can be really proud of.”

Ashton explained that they added black and brown to represent those races, purple for drag queens, as well as the trans flag colors.

“We’ve made sure to include black and brown colors to represent the broad diversity of everyone within the LGBTQIA+ community. We’ve also added in the pale blue, white and pink to support and embrace the trans community as well. I purposely put the purple drag queen in as a clear nod to the fabulous side of the LGBTQIA+ community. I hope it’s a joy to build and a joy to look at, and hopefully it will bring a lot of joy to people’s lives,” Ashton wrote.

Greta Crestfallen After 'World's Largest Iceberg' Turns Out To Be Part Of Normal Cycle

It was inevitable that climate change warrior Greta Thunberg would be tweeting about an enormous ice slab nearly the size of Majorca, one of Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, calved off an Antarctic ice shelf and was spotted by satellites this week.

The only reason Thunberg would be covering such a topic is that the finger-shaped iceberg is approximately 1,668 square miles in size and has been declared as the world's largest iceberg. This would allow her to amplify her climate change fight and press her Twitter following and politicians alike that action is needed to be taken now.

Named A-76, the iceberg broke off the Ronne ice shelf into the Weddell Sea earlier this week, according to the European Space Agency.

However, Alex Brisbourne, a glaciologist at the British Antarctic Survey, who New Scientist quoted, said the area where A-76 broke away from Antarctica's Ronne ice shelf "is not an area that is undergoing any significant change because of global heating. The main message is it's part of a natural cycle."

Whoops, Thunberg… So science says climate change, not at fault??

As for trajectory, there's no telling where A-76 could be headed. Last year, we noted A-68 was headed for the island of South Georgia but eventually disintegrated.

"It's big enough to influence the ocean, and the salinity of the ocean. Depending on the trajectory, it could be as significant as A-68a," said Brisbourne.

Even Thunberg's followers called her out for the misinformation:

Thanks to an extensive propaganda operation overseen by Gates via the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, most media coverage of Gates has been overwhelmingly positive - until now.

This belies the reality that criticism of Gates has been growing since before the start of the pandemic - although his emergence as the de facto global vaccine czar sparked conspiracy theories, Gates' media manipulation machine successfully shifted the narrative to paint all his critics as unhinged conspiracy theorists, drowning out criticisms of Gates' success in undermining the "open vaccine" movement, something that has been revitalized by President Biden's decision to back a proposal at the WTO to waive IP protections for COVID vaccines.

In the span of about two weeks, the public goodwill that Gates long enjoyed has mostly evaporated.

But as Bloomberg reminds us in a lengthy feature about Gates' sudden loss of public support, Gates wasn't always so revered. In the early days, before he the propaganda machine, Gates was seen as a "ruthless nerd-turned-tycoon".

In fact, as Bloomberg tells it, Gates' initial interest in philanthropy was part of an attempt to white wash his image after some pretty aggressive behavior in the 1980s, including stabbing his co-founder in the back while he was undergoing cancer treatment.

It’s easy to forget that Bill Gates wasn’t always so publicly revered. During the heyday of the PC revolution, he was the ruthless nerd-turned-tycoon who brutally and profanely berated underlings and allegedly tried to slash Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen’s equity in the company while he was undergoing cancer treatment in the early 1980s. (Gates has said his recollection of events differed from Allen’s.) Windows software, his flagship creation, was a buggy mess that frustrated millions of consumers, and Steve Jobs groused that Gates and his team showed “no shame” and “no taste” in ripping off Apple’s products. Even the judge who oversaw Microsoft’s crippling turn-of-the-century monopoly trial said Gates had “a Napoleonic concept of himself and his company, an arrogance that derives from power and unalloyed success."

By the 2000s, though, the world’s richest man seemed to have realized he had to change this Redmond-robber-baron narrative—and that his wealth could help. He stepped down as Microsoft’s CEO and shifted his attention to what would become the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which eventually gave away more than $50 billion to fight malaria and AIDS and boost childhood vaccination rates, earning the couple widespread praise, not to mention Time’s 2005 “Persons of the Year” cover with U2’s Bono. Less than a decade after Microsoft’s antitrust trial, Gates was making the rounds on Capitol Hill advising lawmakers on U.S. technology competitiveness and health initiatives.

"I was lucky enough in my Microsoft work to accumulate an ownership that was worth a lot of money," he told Charlie Rose in 2008, shortly after switching to full-time focus on his giving pledges. "Warren [Buffett] likes to call that 'claim checks' on society, where you get to say, you know, have a thousand people go build a pyramid for you or do whatever you want."

Pretty soon, Gates image morphed from "technocrat" to "savior". Before long, the media was gobbling up his seasonal reading lists, and President Barack Obama was awarding him the presidential medal of freedom, America's highest civilian honor.

Dogs More Effective Than PCR Tests At Detecting COVID

Scientists and public health officials have been looking at all different kinds of alternatives to individual rapid COVID-19 tests to detect the presence of the virus, and in their search, they've landed on some strange alternatives. Some have resorted to testing poop in public sewers to detect traces of the virus, a method that has proven reliable in detecting outbreaks.

And as it happens, dogs - which have been used to sniff out everything from drugs to bombs - are also effective at sniffing out COVID-19, according to a new French study published by Bloomberg.

The dogs' ability to detect the virus was clocked at 97% sensitivity, a level that puts this method on par with the most reliable rapid antigen tests. The sniffing method was also found to be 91% specific - a technical measure of the dogs' ability to correctly identify negative samples. This 'sensitivity rating' is higher than that of many 15-minute antigen tests, which tend to be better at ruling out infection than at finding it.

And with Europe reopening its economy to vaccinated tourists on Wednesday, these study results couldn't have come at a better time. As Bloomberg points out, virus-sniffing dogs could be widely deployed in airports, train stations or anywhere crowds amass to screen people, much like they’re used for detecting drugs or bombs. Using dogs also means COVID could be identified at just a fraction of a second in a non-invasive manner, and in an extremely inexpensive manner (in theory, it wouldn't cost all that much to train the dogs, and the methods would be simple to those used to train drug and bomb-sniffing dogs).

The trial was carried out at France's National Veterinary School, according to Bloomberg, which shared some more details about the trial.

The trial, which was conducted at France’s National Veterinary School in Maisons Alfort near Paris, collected sweat samples from the armpits of the participants with cotton pads that were locked into jars and gave them to at least two different dogs for sniffing. None of the dogs had prior contact with the volunteers. There were 335 people tested, of which 109 were positive in a PCR test that served as a control. Nine dogs participated, and the researchers didn’t know which samples were positive.

In July, German researchers showed trained dogs were able to distinguish between saliva sampled from people infected with the virus and those who were not more than 90% of the time. Finland, Dubai and Switzerland have started training dogs to sniff out infections.

The latest study was conducted between March 16 and April 9, and the Ile-de-France region helped fund the trial, contributing 25,000 euros ($30,500).

Efforts to train dogs to sniff out COVID are underway across Europe, and the world. In the UK, a team from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine are training six dogs in the hope that they will be able to detect COVID-positive people, even if they have no symptoms. In Finland, sniffer dogs have been working to detect infected travelers at Helsinki Airport since September.

People Are Printing Weapons Disguised As Nerf Guns

A couple of months ago, we noted deputies in a North Carolina drug raid seized cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana, money, and a Glock 19 disguised as a Nerf toy gun. We weren't quite sure if the seizure of the pistol, made to look like a harmless children's gun, was an anomaly, but it appears today people are 3D-printing weapons that resemble Nerf guns.

Case in point, Twitter account "YoungBreezy" has printed a working 3D-printed gun that looks exactly like a Nerf gun. The weapon has a similar color scheme and even the Nerf logo printed on the side.

YoungBreezy appears to have taken the 3D-printed weapon to a range where he ran through an entire clip without the gun failing.

He said, "What it looked like before. Muzzle thing (not a suppressor) and brace broke off. Had a couple of failures to extract, and towards the end, the trigger wasn't resetting reliably. Other than that, the test went well. Bolt didn't break this time, and it was pretty consistent."

The gun appears to be the FGC-9, which stands for "f**k gun control 9 mm." As we've noted, the FGC-9 can be printed entirely at home for the cost of $350, including the printer's cost. During the print, YoungBreezy used plastic filament to mimic Nerf gun colors and added the Nerf logo on the side of the weapon.

Democrats and gun control activists have been terrified of a decentralized network of 3D printed gun advocates quickly mobilizing online, revolutionizing gun designs, sharing blueprints, advising, and building a community. There's no easy way the federal government can halt this movement as President Biden, not too long ago, declared war on ghost guns.

Last Friday, the Justice Department proposed a rule that changes the definition of a firearm to require 80% lower kits to include serial numbers. Lawmakers have also reintroduced a bill that they say would ban ghost guns.

The new core of the Democrats, as emblemized by Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, has in the past questioned the patriotism of American Jews who support Israel, and occasionally has had to apologize for puerile anti-Semitic rants.

The left in general believes we should judge harshly even the distant past without exemptions. Why then, in venomous, knee-jerk fashion, does it fixate on a nation born from the Holocaust while favoring Israel’s enemies, who were on the side of the Nazis in World War II?

It wasn’t just that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Amin al-Husseini, was a Nazi sympathizer. Egypt, for example, welcomed ex-Nazis for their hatred of Jews and their military expertise, including infamous death camp doctor Aribert Ferdinand Heim and Waffen-SS henchman Otto Skorzeny. The Hamas charter still reads like it is cribbed from Hitler’s “Mein Kampf.”

The left claims it champions consensual government and believes the United States must use its soft-power clout to isolate autocracies. But the Palestinian Authority and Hamas refuse to hold free and regularly scheduled elections. If an Israeli strongman ever suspended free elections and ruled through brutality, U.S. aid would be severed within days.

If history and democratic values can’t fully explain the apparent hatred of Israel on the left, perhaps human rights violations do. But here, too, there is another example of radical asymmetry. Arab citizens of Israel enjoy far greater constitutional protections than do Arabs living under either the Palestinian Authority or Hamas.

Is the left bothered by the allies of Hamas? After all, most are autocracies such as Iran and North Korea.

The Israeli People Committee (IPC), a civilian body made of leading Israeli health experts, has published its April report into the Pfizer vaccine’s side effects indicating damage to almost every system in the human body. If the findings by IPC are genuine, then Pfizer vaccine is linked to more deaths in Israel than AstraZeneca’s in the whole of Europe. The findings are catastrophic on every possible level. This is a detailed report that highlights the most devastating findings.

Israeli People Committee's Report Find Catastrophic Side Effects Of Pfizer Vaccine

The verdict of the Israeli People Committee is that “there has never been a vaccine that has harmed as many people.” The report is long and detailed (read full report below).

“We received 288 death reports in proximity to vaccination (90% up to 10 days after the vaccination), 64% of those were men.”

Yet the report states, “according to data provided by the Ministry of Health, only 45 deaths in Israel were vaccine related.”

If these are the genuine numbers, then Israel has failed to report on its experimental results genuinely.

We have been hearing a lot about the rare side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine and more than 300 cases of blood clots found in Europe.

German scientists have found the exact 2 step process how the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine causes blood clots in recipients. They describe a series of events that has to happen in the body before the vaccines create these large clots.

If the findings by IPC are genuine, then Pfizer vaccine is linked to more deaths in Israel than AstraZeneca’s in the whole of Europe.

Meanwhile, the US CDC and FDA have lifted their recommended pause on use of Johnson & Johnson’s coronavirus vaccine with a condition that it will now include a safety label warning that its vaccine comes with blood clot risks.

“According to Central Bureau of Statistics data during January-February 2021, at the peak of the Israeli mass vaccination campaign, there was a 22% increase in overall mortality in Israel compared with the previous year.”

“In fact, January-February 2021 have been the deadliest months in the last decade, with the highest overall mortality rates compared to corresponding months in the last 10 years.”

The IPC finds that “amongst the 20-29 age group the increase in overall mortality has been most dramatic. In this age group, we detect an increase of 32% in overall mortality in comparison with previous year.”

“Statistical analysis of information from the Central Bureau of Statistics, combined with information from the Ministry of Health, leads to the conclusion that the mortality rate amongst the vaccinated is estimated at about 1: 5000 (1: 13000 at ages 20-49, 1: 6000 at ages 50-69, 1: 1600 at ages 70+).”

“According to this estimate, it is possible to estimate the number of deaths in Israel in proximity of the vaccine, as of today, at about 1000-1100 people.”

If this is a genuine statistical analysis, then numbers reported by health authorities of Israel are misleading to a very great extent.

“There is a high correlation between the number of people vaccinated per day and the number of deaths per day, in the range of up to 10 days, in all age groups.”

“Ages 20-49 – a range of 9 days from the date of vaccination to mortality, ages 50-69 – 5 days from the date of vaccination to mortality, ages 70 and up – 3 days from the date of vaccination to mortality.”

The IPC also reveals that the “the risk of mortality after the second vaccine is higher than the risk of mortality after the first vaccine.”

This is not only about the death risk, as per the reports of IPC, “as of the date of publication of the report, 2066 reports of side effects have accumulated in the Civil Investigation Committee and the data continue to come in.

DELTA, British Columbia, May 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A hospice society in British Columbia that refused to allow euthanasia at its palliative care facility since the practice became legal in Canada was evicted from its location of 35 years by health officials.

LifeSiteNews confirmed with the Delta Hospice Society (DHS) president that the society was evicted from its two leased buildings after the Fraser Health Authority cancelled a 35-year land lease. March 29 was the last day DHS was on site.

“In January, Fraser Health came into the hospice with no notification, and started giving out eviction notices to the dying people in their beds, telling them they were going to move,” said Angelina Ireland, president of the DHS, to LifeSiteNews.

“We were made aware of this from the nurses, and then some unhappy families went to the media … we had a lot of negative press and responses blamed unfairly on us that we had caused the evictions, which was not the case. We would never have done such a thing.”

In 2016, the Canadian government legalized euthanasia, or the lethal injection of sick patients, and since that time DHS had been under attack by both the B.C. government as well as euthanasia activists because it refused to allow the practice at its palliative care hospice.

According to the DHS, it has refused to “participate in euthanizing its patients, known as Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), because it is committed to Palliative Care which does not hasten death.”

“We believe in the compassionate care and support for persons in the last stages of living, so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. This position is consistent with international hospice palliative care associations and the World Health Organization,” said DHS in a recent email.

Ireland told LifeSiteNews that both its Irene Thomas Hospice and the Supportive Care Centre were taken by the Fraser Health Authority. DHS was given no compensation for its assets, which Ireland says has an estimated value of $9 million.

Early in 2020, DHS was given a one-year notice of the cancellation of the contact service agreement with the Fraser Health Authority.

McCullough published his first findings on how to stop COVID hospitalizations and deaths in the American Journal of Medicine in August 2020. Today, his work remains the most downloaded and utilized paper during the pandemic from the American Journal of Medicine.

McCullough, who has treated many COVID patients, told Carlson there’s “been a global oblivion” to the idea of treating patients with COVID-19. There are effective outpatient treatments, said McCullough, including monoclonal antibodies such as Regeneron and intracellular anti-infectives including hydroxychloroquine.

McCullough said:

“What frustrated me, was in the media cycle, all we heard about was reducing spread, and then later on vaccination. We never actually heard about treating sick patients.”

Had there been more of a focus on treating sick patients, said McCullough, early treatment could have prevented up to 85% of COVID deaths. Instead, he said, there’s an “incredible suppression of early treatment in the medical literature” for COVID.

McCullough highlights the “Surgisphere scandal” in which The Lancet published a fake paper by a sketchy U.S. company called Surgisphere that falsely implied hydroxychloroquine could harm people hospitalized with COVID.

The Lancet issued a retraction, saying only that it couldn’t verify the data, but it didn’t apologize or explain how the paper was published, or the influence it may have had globally on the early treatment of COVID, McCullough said.

On Tuesday the Alberta Institute, an independent political think tank group, put out a statement saying, “We've just learned that the Alberta government is planning to spy on Albertans using drones. Yes, seriously!”

The Alberta Institute statement included a petition one could sign to stop the drone program, along with screenshots which showed requests for proposals from the Alberta ministry of Environment & Parks (AEP) which put out a call for drone operators, or “long range remotely piloted aircraft systems.”

“This program must be cancelled once and for all, and any government official or politician responsible for proposing such an anti-Albertan idea in the first place should be immediately fired. Please sign the petition and then spread the word to your friends, family, co-workers, and every Albertan, to help stop this dangerous government plan,” read the Alberta Institute statement.

The AEP had said that the government was looking for “the contractor to provide airborne Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) services, including live electro optical and infrared video,” to be used to peer into the activities of campers from June to October 2021, mostly on long weekends.

Drone operators were to provide daily reports complete with detailed imagery to highlight any campsites that had “10 or more individuals” with the claim being it was to be used to support “safety.”

After news broke of the plan, which if implemented would have meant the Alberta government under its Premier Jason Kenney of the United Conservative Party (UCP) would be able to spy on campers without anyone’s consent, online backlash quickly spread.

Independent MLA Drew Barnes who, along with MLA Todd Loewen, was recently just kicked out of the UCP, took to social media to blast the idea of the government planning to spy on its citizens with drones.

“THIS is alarming. Premier @jkenney, Albertans have a number of questions regarding this, number one is-what are/where are Albertans privacy rights? Looking fwd to hearing the answer. The business was charged for operating in contravention of mask requirements under the province's Health Protection Act.

I thought that was possibly a weirdly worded sentence where I could have been misreading it, until I got to the next paragraph.

“We have attached a consent form for you and your child to review. Please fill it out, sign it and bring it to your appointment.”

“Youth aged 16 and 17 can complete and sign their own consent form.”

Hold up, those are still minors. They're not supposed to be making medical decisions. But I guess all things considered, at least they're older. Look at this.

“Youth aged 12 to 15 can have a parent, guardian, caregiver sign the consent form for them.”

Well, I should hope that sixth graders aren't signing medical consent forms.

But this next sentence is crazy.

“Youth aged 12 to 15 can also attend their appointment without a signed form and will go through the informed consent process with an on-site clinical lead to assess their ability to consent on their own.”

No, you absolute weirdos. They can't consent on their own. They're 12 to 15. They can't consent to medical treatment. They’re little kids.

And for good measure, the letter says that “parents are welcome to accompany their children to their vaccine appointment but it is not required. A vaccine can still be provided even if a person of any age arrives without identification.”

So in Manitoba, your sixth grader is adult enough to decide to participate in medical procedures.

The information was revealed through an order paper question in the House of Commons from Conservative MP Karen Vecchio, who represents the Ontario riding of Elgin—Middlesex—London, that asked how many times since January 1, 2016 the government had hired the polling firm Abacus Data.

Abacus Data is owned by longtime Ottawa insider and pollster Bruce Anderson. Anderson's daughter, Kate Purchase, was at one time the director of communications for the prime minister's office under Justin Trudeau. Purchase served as a close advisor to Trudeau for more than six years before departing for a job at Microsoft.

Since January 1, 2016, Anderson's Abacus Data has been awarded nearly $700,000 in polling fees from various federal departments, oftentimes as a sole-sourced contract.

One sole-sourced contract, funded through the Canadian Race Relations Foundation and costing $10,170, surveyed 2,000 respondents about their experiences with online hate-related topics. That survey, conducted in early mid-January 2021, found that 60 per cent of Canadians questioned were in favour of the federal government increasing its efforts to censor “hateful and racist behaviour” online. In November 2020, Prime Minister Trudeau's government tabled Bill C-10, a bill that takes aim at regulating and censoring content posted on the internet.

Other federal agencies that hired Abacus included: Farm Credit Canada, the Department of National Defence, the Bank of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint, Invest in Canada, Export Development Canada and the Privy Council Office.

The largest expenditure, costing $276,172, was a government-wide subscription to The Canadian Millennial Report, a bi-annual study of Canadians born between 1981–1996. That sole-sourced contract began late in 2017 and has been renewed in two-year intervals. The current contract, signed on December 24, 2020, is set to conclude at the end of March 2022.

Islamists behead four Christians in rural Indonesia

Four Christians were beheaded in a horrific attack by Islamist insurgents in Indonesia last week, according to the Christian NGO Open Doors.

The attack occurred May 11 in Kalimago Village on the island of Sulawesi, with a group of insurgents launching two separate raids on local farms.

Local authorities say the attack was committed by East Indonesia Mujahideen, a Sulawesi-based terrorist group aligned with ISIS.

The attack is the second of its kind on the island in recent months. In November, four Christians were murdered at a nearby Salvation Army outpost in Sigi. One of the victims was beheaded.

A local representative of Open Doors Ari Hartono suggests the insurgents were targeting local Christian farmers for supplies, adding that law enforcement has become more active in the area.

“Central Sulawesi locals are still traumatized from the terrorist attack in Sigi last November and have not recovered yet,” he said.

“After the Sigi incident, the terrorists in Central Sulawesi have been increasingly pressed by the police and the Army. Their logistics is exhausted. The only way to survive is to rob people of food. In this area, there are many farmers who live in the forest far from the village and they were the ones targeted by the terrorists.”

While the Indonesian government generally respects the rights of its Christian minority, the country regularly suffers terrorist attacks from various groups, some of which are aligned with ISIS.

A soldier has been charged for allegedly giving cannabis-laced cupcakes to an artillery unit during a live-fire exercise.

Bombardier Chelsea Cogswell is facing 18 charges in a court martial related to the 2018 incident at CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick.

First reported by CTV, Cogswell is accused of giving members of the “W Battery” artillery unit cannabis cupcakes she baked herself. The unit was not aware of the cannabis and did not consent to consuming it.

The unit was engaged in a live-fire exercise at the time, and their intoxication put both themselves and others in danger.

“Several affected members were allegedly unable to properly execute safe weapons and explosive handling drills,” according to records from the military court.

“All the members of W Battery who consumed the cupcakes, except one, allegedly experienced symptoms which included dehydration, overheating, fatigue, confusion, dry mouth and paranoia.”

Cogswell was working the canteen during the exercise. She has served with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 2011 and remains a member.

Spokeswomen Wendy Wharton told CTV that such allegations have never been made against a CAF member before.

“A review of our court martial records indicate that this is the first time a member has faced a court martial for allegedly administering cannabis to colleagues without their consent,” she said.

Among the charges include nine counts of conduct to the prejudice of good order and discipline, eight counts of administering a noxious substance, and one count of behaving in a disgraceful manner.

May 21, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian doctor and author of a declaration opposing attempts by the Canadian medical establishment to prohibit doctors from questioning the mainstream COVID-19 narrative says the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is “dismantling the ethics put in place after the Second World War with the Nuremberg Code.”

“I was taught in medical school that the bedrock of the Nuremberg Code is a free and fully formed consent [for all patients]. To only promote the public health measures is a denial of the rights of those patients,” Dr. Patrick Phillips, who works as an emergency room physician in Englehart, Ontario, told LifeSiteNews.

Phillips, along with other Canadian physicians, helped author and then publish the declaration “For science and truth,” which came in response to a recent statement from the CPSO saying that doctors must not speak their mind if that would contradict the “official” government response to COVID-19.

The CPSO statement is directed against doctors who take to social media to speak their minds freely in opposition to COVID-19 lockdowns, and states that doctors who go against public health measures and vaccines, or promote “unproven treatments for COVID-19,” will be investigated.

The group of physicians countered that at its core, the primary obligation of a doctor is not to the “CPSO or any other authority,” but to patients.

Phillips noted that the “science and truth” declaration is all about informed consent and patient rights. “It’s a group of physicians from across the county, we are all signatories of the document itself, there is no particular author, but when we saw that statement from the college, we were shocked about how restrictive and anti-science it was.”

Post-jail interview: Pastor Tim Stephens on his arrest, his church and his faith

Tim Stephens is now the third pastor in Alberta to have been imprisoned for continuing to worship in defiance of restrictions implemented by the Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services.

The Western Standard reported that alongside Pastor Artur Pawlowski, Pastor James Coates and Chris Scott of the Whistle Stop Café, Pastor Tim Stephens has been specifically targeted by Health Minister Tyler Shandro as a high-profile rule violator.

The idea that officials are selectively applying the law to certain individuals in order to make a point is extremely problematic, a concern which has drawn immense international scrutiny to the questionable governance of an already embattled United Conservative Party caucus.

The grounds upon which Pastor Tim was arrested have also been called into question. He was arrested under the terms and restrictions laid out in a May 6 order which were amended prior to his arrest. The May 6 order originally applied to any Albertan (Jane/John Doe) and stipulated potential arrests for any gathering in violation of COVID restrictions.

But prior to Pastor Tim's arrest, a judge ruled that the order would in fact only apply to parties named in relation to the Whistle Stop Café.

The arrest of Tim Stephens occurred after this amendment, and according to the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, Pastor Tim’s legal counsel, his arrest was executed illegally.

Legality and politics aside, Pastor Tim Stephens is a kind man with a large family, who was plucked away from them unlawfully and thrown into a maximum security prison like a violent criminal.

His story has garnered international attention. In the eyes of world, something is fundamentally rotten in Alberta. It is vital that we remember that these pastors who are being thrown behind bars are human beings.

These experiences are traumatizing for everyone involved, including the families and congregants of these faith leaders. Other media outlets are happy to deride and denigrate these imprisoned pastors, but as always Rebel News is here sharing the other side of the story.

Islamists killed 1,470 Nigerian Christians, kidnap 2,200 more in 2021: report

The first four months of 2021 have seen a record number of Nigerian Christians being killed or kidnapped by Islamists.

According to a new report published this week by Intersociety, a Nigerian civil rights group, at least 1,470 Nigerian Christians have been killed because of their faith so far this year, with up to 2,200 more being kidnapped.

“Nigeria has devastatingly remained the ‘most Christians killed country’ and ‘most dangerous place to be a Christian’ as well as Africa’s newest hotbed of Islamic Jihad and religious intolerance,” the report reads.

“The 1,470 Christian deaths in four months is the highest number recorded since 2014 and it specifically surpassed the total number of Christians killed in 2019, estimated by the Open Doors to be 1,350.”

Nigeria has been combatting Islamists for over a decade now. The local terrorist group Boko Haram has been bolstered by ISIS agents fleeing the Middle East in recent years, increasing the rate of violence.

Intersociety attributes 800 of the killings to gangs from the militias recently formed by Nigeria’s Fulani ethnicity. Fulani gangs and militias have been inspired by other larger Islamist groups active in the country such as ISIS.

Nigeria has also seen a kidnapping epidemic caused by Islamist groups seeking to earn ransom payments. Islamists have kidnapped people out of churches and buses in recent months.

Of the 2,200 kidnaps, 800 of them were in the Muslim-majority state of Kaduma alone.

Intersociety estimates that around 220 kidnapped Christians have been killed in captivity. This statistic includes several clergy.

Despite the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, happiness scores did not change majorly around the world in 2020. The majority of interviews for the report was carried out during the first wave of the pandemic in spring 2020.

Switzerland rose two ranks from 2019, coming in fourth. Germany even moved up ten ranks into seventh place.

New Zealand is now the only non-European countries to make it into the top 10 of the happiest countries as Canada sank to rank 15.

The U.S. rose from rank 19 to rank 14, while it was downhill for the UK. The country tumbled from rank 14 to rank 18.

Israel became the second highest ranking country outside of Europe in 11th place, while Taiwan scored highest in Asia (rank 19). The best-scoring country out of Africa was Nigeria in rank 59.

Ontario’s University of Health Network is teaming up with community organizers to deliver Pfizer vaccines to children at a pop-up vaccine event at the Nathan Phillips Square this Sunday — and children are encouraged to do so even without their parents’ permission.

“Holiday news: our pop-up vaccine team is coming to Nathan Phillips Square for 12+ year olds this Sunday,” announced Harvard scientist Andrew Baback Boozary on Friday. “Social medicine kicker: free ice cream with the vaccine.”

Ontario’s provincial Health Care Consent Act states there is no minimum age to provide consent for vaccination and a child does not need external permission to receive one.

In York, those 13 and under require a parent or guardian to attend to give verbal consent, or they need to sign a consent form.

Peel Region had initially asked a parent or guardian to provide “informed consent,” when announcing appointments would be open Thursday to anyone 12 and older, in a press release Wednesday morning.

Later that day, the region changed its tune, saying approval was no longer needed. Peel told the Star this was to remove barriers.

Toronto Public Health said it will not be asking for parent or guardian approval, citing the Health Care Consent Act.

Dr. Saba Merchant, a pediatrician, also claimed children 12-15 don’t need their parents’ permission to take the COVID shot.

“If the child does not have an intellectual disability, then they definitely have the capacity and the ability to make that decision,” she said.

Given the extremely low risk COVID-19 poses to children, it’s unusual that the government is so keen to get children vaccinated.

Notably, the Pfizer mRNA vaccine was just recently approved by the U.S. Federal Drug Administration for Emergency Use for 12-15 year olds.

This is just another example of how leftists are trying to usurp parental authority and diminish parents’ roles in raising their children, especially when it comes to important health decisions.

So 12-year-olds can consent to this without their parents? They’re children. The law says that most contracts with children are non-binding —you’ve heard of the phrase, taking candy from a baby, right? It’s the point that you can trick them; they’re not mature enough, skeptical enough, wise enough, experienced enough.

But apparently, 12-year-olds can “consent” to whether or not they want to be jabbed in the arm with an experimental drug that has not yet been approved, for an illness, COVID-19, that has less than a one in a million chance of killing a child. That’s not an exaggeration — it really is less than a one-in-a-million chance. COVID is an old person’s disease; really, for people who are already very sick and who are 80 or older.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any weirder in this day and age of COVID insanity, things become bat-shite crazy!

Last Sunday, we visited the Church of God in Aylmer, Ont. Two days prior to that, Ontario Superior Court Justice Bruce Thomas had ordered that new locks be placed on the exterior doors of the church. This was done to punish this place of worship for allegedly ignoring the Wuhan virus gathering rules. The church was also fined $117,000. Gross.

But that didn’t stop the sermon from going on — it was simply shifted outdoors. And a fun time was had by all.

Well, not all. Apparently, the transgender community of Aylmer loathes concepts such as freedom to assemble and freedom to worship. Odd, that. Aren’t these the same folks who demand that society be more tolerant and accepting of them?

But apparently tolerance is a one-way street. That’s what we discovered when we encountered a transgender person named Rayne. Rayne was on the opposite side of the road protesting the Church of God, looking absolutely resplendent in a Hilarious House of Frightenstein face-diaper. (The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, by the way, was an early ‘70s CHCH-TV comedy/horror series about… monsters. I’m not making this up, folks.)

In any event, Frightenstein — er, I mean, Rayne — told us that she was once a man who had transitioned into a woman and was very upset to be “misgendered” (I slipped up with that whole he/him, she/her, ze/zir pronoun thingy…) So, a big mea culpa, mea culpa to Rayne.

As well, we were told that a woman sitting inside a nearby SUV was Rayne’s wife. Rayne-wife’s preferred form of communication consisted of laying on the horn whenever triggered. Which was often. She was very upset about the number of people not wearing masks outside, given that this creates an unhealthy environment. She then reached for a cigarette and manically puffed away, apparently oblivious to the irony.

But get this: these two snowflakes were so triggered by our questions that they called the police. And two members of the Aylmer police actually responded! And we were sternly told by the law enforcement version of Dumb & Dumber that asking trans demonstrators impolite questions (even on public property) is a form of… harassment?! And that if we continued to practice journalism, we would be arrested.

They actually said that! My heart breaks for the people of Aylmer that these cranky cops are unable to fathom such nuances as freedom of the press. Then again, maybe they thought they were enforcing the law in North Korea or Iran? Weird…

In any event, we had already concluded our “interview” with Frightenstein and wife. And so it was that we crossed the street to enter the grounds of the Church of God. It was like going from Hell to Heaven, and we were delighted to meet up with the hundreds of friendly people who had gathered on the lawns of the church to hear an invigorating service by Pastor Henry Hildebrandt. And thank God for that! For it was indeed a measure of salvation that we were able to converse with so many wonderful, freedom-loving, NORMAL people… a welcome tonic to the ghastly transgender horror show and the new age Keystone Cops act that we had left behind across the street…

What’s going on with Canada’s pastors and churches?

Freedom of expression, assembly and worship are Charter rights in Canada, but in the last couple of months, five pastors have been either arrested or charged for holding church services and not enforcing masks, social distancing or attendance caps.

Though some may claim that church services are COVID-19 superspreader events, there is no scientific or medical evidence to support such assertions.

You may have briefly clicked on a video clip or news headline featuring one of these pastors or churches, but here is a comprehensive guide to who’s who, with an update on each case.

On Sunday May 16, Pastor Tim Stephens was arrested and jailed immediately after holding a church service where masks, social distancing and attendance caps were not enforced.

Back in March, police showed up at Stephens’ home address and handed him three tickets: one for holding a gathering over 15% of fire code capacity, another for not enforcing the two metre rule and another for violating mandatory mask rules (this particular ticket was rescinded).

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) – the legal organization representing Stephens – states that his detention was illegal, as Stephens was arrested for violating a May 6 court injunction that the JCCF successfully got amended and was therefore inapplicable to him.

On Wednesday May 19, the Pastor’s wife, Raquel Stephens, confirmed that he had returned home. However, Alberta Health Services ordered Fairview Baptist Church closed.

Pastor James Coates made headlines earlier this year when he was thrown in jail for 35 days because he did not enforce masks, social distancing or attendance caps while holding church services. GraceLife was ordered closed by the province in January 2021, but congregants continued to meet in spite of the order. Coates was locked up in the Edmonton Remand Centre from February 16 to March 22, 2021.

In early April, Coates hosted Easter services at his church, at which point Alberta Health Services and the RCMP seized the church property and fenced off GraceLife indefinitely.

Since then, James Coates has delivered sermons from a secret location.

James Coates had two trial dates in early May related to his tickets, but the trial has been adjourned until June 7. Coates’ legal representation, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, notes that the case still has a further hearing where the Alberta Government must produce their scientific and medical evidence for enforcing lockdowns.

During Easter of this year, video footage of Pastor Artur Pawlowski shouting at police to leave his church property while calling them “Gestapo” and “Nazis” went viral.

The police and Alberta Health Services officials did indeed leave that particular day. But after hosting a sermon on Saturday, May 8, Artur Pawlowski and his brother Dawid were arrested on the side of the road and dragged into police vehicles. Artur claims he was placed in solitary confinement for three days before being released on Monday.

Artur Pawlowski will be in court on May 26 for two hearings related to holding church services, and the tickets he received for alleged Public Health Act violations will be in docket court on June 14.

Back in April 2020, Pastor Henry Hildebrandt was facing threats of fines from police for leading over-capacity drive-in church services, even though parishioners stayed inside their vehicles in the parking lot with the windows rolled up as they listened to the service via radio signal.

On yesterday's edition of The Ezra Levant Show, Ezra said described how these companies are going to be less likely to provide scrutiny of Facebook, given that they're now taking sums of money from the company:

Normally you have to pay Facebook to drive traffic to your site, no one pays you to give traffic to your site. That would be like a billboard company saying excuse me, can we pay you money to put up a billboard for the privilege of advertising your product for free? That's not commerce, that's called a bribe.

The secondary benefit for these companies, as pointed out by one of the outlets representative, was to combat misinformation. But as Ezra said, this isn't likely to be about misinformation, it's more likely to be shutting down those who disagree with these outlets:

Well now you're getting to it. This is about combating misinformation, by which they mean, of course, views they disagree with. People they disagree with. That's an environmental extremist, Emma Gilchrist [of The Narwhal], and she's calling anyone who disagrees with her theory of man-made global warming “misinformation.”

Conservative MP told to remove pro-oil button in House

An Alberta MP was told to remove a button stating “I love Canadian oil and gas” under a House of Commons rule that forbids “props of any kind used as a way of making a silent comment on issues.”

MP Martin Shields (Bow River) defended his button, but Liberal MP Mark Gerretsen (Kingston and the Islands) insisted that he would have to “leave the chamber” if he didn't remove the item.

According to Blacklock's Reporter,

“That is against the protocols of the House,” said Assistant Deputy Speaker Carol Hughes, adding the button “sends a very clear message not everyone is supportive of.” The slogan was “a very clear message regarding the positioning of the Party,” said Hughes.

“Remove that button,” said Hughes. Shields complied. The MP routinely sports the button at committee hearings.

B.C. provincial travel restrictions don't stop Sea to Sky “Freedom Protestival”

If there was ever a place too beautiful to still be locked down, it’s Squamish, B.C.

Located along British Columbia’s Sea to Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler, Squamish use to be a popular tourist spot for those who love mountains, trails and adventures, before COVID-19 restrictions were put in place.

Normally, the Victoria Day long weekend attracts many looking to enjoy nature with good company during the month of May, while contributing to the town’s economy; however, thanks to provincial restrictions, the only thing happening in the small town this past weekend was the Sea to Sky Freedom Protestival, located at Junction Park.

Squamish local Lani Gelara organized the peaceful protest to empower those who have found themselves with more questions than answers regarding COVID- 19 to bravely unite in finding truth. Live music, kids’ play areas, motivational speeches, and a march with an array of freedom-focused signs brought smiles to the faces of almost everyone around.

We also discuss whether any of the attendees who had travelled from the lower mainland experienced any increased police checks, which the RCMP stated would occur over the long weekend to ensure people were following COVID-19 restrictions on ‘non-essential’ travel.

Our new Quebec-based Rebel reporter Alexa TheVoice is bringing us the other side of the story about Premiere Francois Legault's decision to lift the province's ban on patio dining. To get a more broad sample of opinions, Alexa interviewed three different restaurant owners.

One owner, Stephen, was happy that the city would be allowing outdoor dining again. Another owner, Julie, saw the decision as a glimmer of hope, even though she doesn't have a patio. Nico, who has mobilized his vehicle as a table for his customers, on the other hand begs to differ — and he didn't hold his tongue back when he told us why he had an issue with the premiere's decision.

After speaking to the owners, Alexa realized that each business owner is likely to interpret this decision in a very different way. One concern for her, however, was why it was acceptable for the government to permit indoor dining at the airport, yet small businesses trying to survive were forced to close.

What is the difference between these two locations? Well, one happens to be located inside government-owned property.

The last time Premier Legault allowed restaurants an opportunity like this came ahead of Easter, when restaurants were allowed to open after a months long shutdown, when the premier changed his mind at the last moment, giving these establishments approximately 24-hours notice. This led to many restaurants, already in a dire situation after months of being closed, to take another financial hit.

Another “retail rebellion” snuffed out before it even began

How sad. We had been tipped off about a “retail rebellion” that was about to take place in Kleinburg, Ont., just northwest of Toronto. Barbershops and nail salons and boutiques were all planning on opening up in defiance of the debilitating lockdown mandates. But when we visited Kleinburg last Friday afternoon, nobody was taking part. In fact, no shop owner even wanted to come on camera.

So, what happened to the revolution?

Vlad Sobolev of We Are All Essential says the businesses were essentially intimidated into remaining closed. In an interview with Rebel News, Vlad says the local Business Improvement Association was against the idea, and members of bylaw and the York Regional Police visited several businesses, stating it was not a good idea to reopen. And the business owners caved; the retail rebellion died before it even got going — all thanks to intimidation tactics.

Too bad. I need a haircut. I could use a manicure. It would’ve been great to buy a new dress shirt. But apparently that is too dangerous to accommodate now and in the months ahead… even though it’s business as usual at big box stores such as Costco and Walmart.

Does this make sense in any way to anyone?

Communist escapee warns on lockdowns: Unite or “we'll all go down”

On Saturday, May 22, protesters once again gathered at Victoria Hall in Cobourg, Ontario to oppose government-mandated COVID-19 restrictions. Local police informed them that they could protest, as long as they abided by the same mandates that they are opposing.

The week prior, there was a Northumberland News article that quoted Cobourg police Chief Paul Vandegraaf stating that excess law enforcement has resulted in approximately $8,000 in overtime for Cobourg police each weekend.

In the same article, the chief relays the sad story that ordering members of his force to cover the protests each week has taken an “emotional toll” on his officers.

To make matters more bizarre in Cobourg — in the before times coined “Ontario’s Feel Good Town,” but now more reminiscent of a “Fenced Off Town” — town council voted 4-3 to completely fence off the Victoria Park Beach, for the second consecutive year.

Oddly, just two days before the Ford government lifted outdoor activity restrictions for the province.

Posing questions to protesters about their thoughts on the above news, I went into the small (but vocal) crowd to get local opinions on all things related to the pandemic, including the response from our different levels of government.

Just as I was leaving, a woman who had fled Communist Poland stopped for a chat and offered insight based on her own lived experience. She sees the playbook unfolding here and wants Canadians to heed her warning.

Alberta, Ontario and Quebec ranked poorest on COVID Misery Index

Albertans have been the most miserable during the pandemic, closely followed by Ontarians and Quebeckers, according to a new report from the MacDonald-Laurier Institute (MLI).

In the Provincial COVID Misery Index, MLI found that Canada’s larger provinces suffered from much higher rates of coronavirus and felt more harm from government lockdowns.

“Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta in particular have not only failed to keep COVID cases and deaths under control but have also been extremely reliant on reactive and stringent lockdowns and their economies have suffered disproportionately,” MLI wrote.

“When considering Disease Misery, Quebec is by far the worst of all the provinces on this measure, languishing under high caseloads, high COVID-19 deaths, and high excess deaths – and this dismal record is only partially mitigated by recent lower case counts.”

The Provincial COVID Misery Index measures the relative misery caused by COVID-19, the government response to the pandemic and the economic fallout, giving each a score of 0 to 100.

Prince Edward Island was ranked as the least miserable, with a score of 65.99 out of a possible 300. Alberta, the most miserable, received a score of 206.59.

MLA attributes Atlantic Canada’s low misery scores to the province’s ability to keep travellers out of the region.

With the Trudeau government refusing to close the border for weeks in 2020, larger provinces with international airports received most of the brunt of the initial positive cases.

MLI senior fellow Richard Audas said that earlier action to close the border could have resulted in fewer cases and fewer restrictions for larger provinces. MLI also suggests that the ideological commitment to lockdowns by some health experts may be contributing to the prolonged misery.

“Lockdowns were originally pitched to Canadians as a magic bullet,” said Audas, who also designed the Provincial COVID Misery Index.

“Unfortunately, while the disease itself is predictable, human behaviour is not.”

In a previous index ranking the misery felt in fifteen developed nations, MLI ranked Canada fifth most-miserable, largely due to the economic impact of lockdowns.

According to B’nai Brith Canada, the number of anti-Semitic assaults recorded so far in May 2021 surpasses the total for all of 2020.

Ontario imam makes anti-Israel remarks attacking Canadian politicians – May 8

A Muslim cleric from Kitchener, Ont., allegedly accused Canadian politicians of serving Israel rather than Canada at a virtual event on May 8.

A Muslim cleric at the Islamic Humanitarian Service, Sheikh Shafiq Hudda, made these comments at an online al-Quds Day event amid a weekend of increasing conflict in Jerusalem.

Hudda criticized the “Zionist lobby” in Canada.

“They get their fulus [Arabic for ‘money’], they get their funding, they get their campaign donations from these elements and these lobby groups,” said Hudda. “So they don’t even care about their own country of Canada.”

Hudda said people should support the boycott, divestment, sanctions (BDS) campaign to fight back against the Zionist lobby.

True North reached out to Hudda to clarify his comments but he did not respond by the time this article was published.

Pro-Palestine protesters clashed with pro-Israel supporters at Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto on May 15.

The Palestinian Youth Movement said in a press release that it was organizing protests in more than 25 cities across North America, including Toronto.

Pro-Palestine protesters allegedly surrounded pro-Israel protesters and threw water bottles, eggs and other objects at them.

Police officers separated the two groups soon after fights broke out between the two groups.

At least three pro-Israel protesters were injured, and one elderly Jewish man suffered serious injuries.

Police officers used tear gas following clashes between pro-Israel and pro-Palestine protesters in Montreal.

Hundreds of pro-Israel protesters gathered in a Montreal square to express solidarity with the Jewish state.

The pro-Israel protest remained peaceful until pro-Palestine protesters arrived. Pro-Palestine protesters proceeded to initiate fights and threw rocks at the pro-Israel group.

As a result, squads of riot police intervened, using tear gas to separate and disperse the two groups. Montreal police declared the protest illegal.

Montreal police have taken possession of dangerous weapons after protests over the Israel-Hamas conflict took place on May 15.

Police made 15 arrests during the two pro-Palestine and pro-Israel protests that took place in downtown Montreal.

Police seized an ax, knives and cayenne pepper. Bottles containing a liquid similar to that used in Molotov cocktails was found. The liquid is being investigated to determine whether it was intended for incendiary weapons.

Various criminal acts, such as mischief, restraints, and armed attacks have also been committed.

Edmonton police have deployed its hate crimes unit to investigate after two homes were approached and anti-Semitic rhetoric was allegedly used on May 16.

The Jewish Federation of Edmonton (JFE) said there was a vehicle being suspicious as it drove around a west end neighbourhood. The young men in the vehicle said they were “seeking Jews,” confronting people and making threats.

The JFE notified Edmonton police and the RCMP about the episode.

Montreal police arrested two men for allegedly threatening members of the Jewish community in Cote Saint-Luc on May 17.

Spokesperson for Montreal police Caroline Chevrefils said several people called 911 to report the incident.

Police obtained a description of the suspects’ vehicle. A 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were arrested.

The hate crimes unit with Montreal police is further investigating this incident.

Cote Saint-Luc Mayor Mitchell Brownstein said in a Facebook post that there would be more police around synagogues and other Jewish community buildings in the next little while to prevent similar incidents.

Tesla claims $102 million in Liberal government electric car rebates

New data shows that out of the federal government’s $300 million worth of rebates for electric vehicles, at least a third of the funds went towards buying Tesla cars.

The federal fund which was introduced in 2019 allows new buyers to purchase electric cars with a discount of up to $5,000 or $2,500.

According to CP24, out of the entire subsidy package, $102 million worth of the rebates went to Tesla while the other $296 million was distributed among dealerships selling other electric vehicle makes.

“To date, consumers who have purchased the Tesla Model 3 represent approximately 25% of the total (program) claims. The Tesla Model 3 is the best-selling electric vehicle in the world,” said Transport Canada spokesperson Cybelle Morin in a statement.

Following Tesla, Hyundai and Chevrolet electric cars were the next popular vehicle brand.

According to senior associate researcher on energy issues from the Montreal Economic Institute Germain Belizile, the subsidy is not the best way to reduce emissions.

“It’s like cellphones. Cellphones have existed for a long time, but very few people used cellphones 35 years ago, for example, and that’s because they were very expensive and we didn’t need subsidies to eventually increase the usage of cellphones,” said Belizile.

Despite the Trudeau government’s focus on reducing Canada’s emissions through subsidies and a federal carbon tax, Canada’s emissions performance has continued to falter.

According to government data, the Liberal government missed their 2020 greenhouse gas emissions targets by nearly 99%.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lectured the Conservatives about “anti-Asian racism” and “tolerance” during Question Period on Wednesday when asked about protecting Canadian research institutions from Chinese foreign influence.

Recently, the Globe and Mail revealed that at least seven scientists from Winnipeg’s National Microbiology Laboratory collaborated with China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on infectious disease studies while working in Canada.

Trudeau made the comments after Conservative MP Candice Bergen pressed him on whether his government was willing to cut research ties with the Chinese communist regime.

“Well the problem is – and the prime minister maybe does not realize this – is communist China cannot be trusted. I know he admires their basic dictatorship, I know he likes to do fundraisers with them over the years, I know he thought they were the first go to for vaccines but at this point we would hope that he would learn a lesson and put the safety, security and protection of Canadians above this fascination he has with the communist regime,” said Bergen.

“So again, will he commit to ending this research and this cooperation with this regime that not only does not have our interest in mind but actually wants to hurt Canada?”

“Yes from the beginning of my career onwards I have worked with many Chinese-Canadians and indeed had fundraisers with them and the rise in anti-Asian racism we’re seeing over the past number of months should be of concern to everyone,” replied Trudeau.

“I would recommend to members of the Conservative Party in their zeal to make personal attacks, not start to push too far into intolerance towards Canadians of diverse origins. We will continue to stand up to defend Canadians interests, Canadians security, we will continue to make sure that we are doing everything we can to keep Canadians safe while participating in the global research community and stand up for tolerance and diversity.”

Following Trudeau’s statement, Conservative MP Kenny Chiu slammed the prime minister for his “despicable statements” and accused him of playing into Chinese propaganda.

As reported by True North, the Chinese regime has used accusations of racism in the past as a way to deflect legitimate criticisms.

“We’ve seen them conflate credible critiques with charges of racism and it’s silly to do that and they’re growing sharper and more immature in how they’re responding to it,” Macdonald-Laurier Institute’s Munk Senior Fellow for Foreign Policy Shuvaloy Majumdar told True North.

In an interview with Children’s Health Defense Chairman Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., on the “RFK Jr. The Defender Podcast,” Cherie Romney says both her husband and 17-year-old son suffered serious blood clots and were hospitalized after receiving COVID mRNA vaccines.

One day after getting the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine, Everest Romney became sick. Five days after being vaccinated, the 17-year-old was hospitalized when doctors discovered two blood clots in his brain.

Everest’s mother, Cherie Romney, told Children’s Health Defense Chairman Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. on the “RFK Jr. The Defender Podcast” her son, a varsity basketball player at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, was a very healthy athletic child who was in the middle of recruiting season for his school basketball team.

Now, the teen can barely walk.

Within 24 hours of getting the vaccine, Everest began experiencing an “exorbitant amount” of pain and swelling in his neck that originated on the same side he received the vaccine. Cherie took her son to the pediatrician, who diagnosed the teen with a pulled muscle and placed him in a neck brace.

The doctor was “pretty dismissive,” said Cherie. “We were sent home.”

But within 24 hours of the doctor’s visit, Everest got “one of the worst migraines he’s ever had.” It lasted nonstop for several days before Cherie took her son to the emergency room.

Everest, who has since been released and is in stable condition, was diagnosed with having two cases of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, a rare type of blood clot that prevents blood from draining out of the brain.

Cherie’s husband, who received the Moderna vaccine, had a similar severe adverse reaction. He was hospitalized with a pulmonary infarction and lost about a fourth of his lung, permanently, said Cherie. An x-ray revealed he had over 100 blood clots in his lungs, she said. He has also since been released and is in stable condition.

Cherie told Kennedy she is not anti-vaccine, However, she encourages others to weigh the rewards against the potential risks when deciding whether or not to get the COVID vaccine.

Cherie said:

“I think there are some people who would be tempted to think I’m a massive anti-vaxxer or to dismiss my message. It really is just that we have to gather all the information. You may not know enough right now. We may not be distributing it safely right now, especially if they’re distributing it to children.”

OTTAWA, May 26, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall Marcel Damphousse warned trustees of Ottawa’s Catholic School Board (OCSB) at a meeting last night to vote against a motion to fly the homosexual “Pride flag” at Catholic schools in the month of June, telling them that the flag is a “political statement that endorses behaviors and lifestyles contradicting the Catholic Church’s teaching.” Despite this warning, however, the board voted 9-1 in favor of flying the rainbow-colored flag, beginning at the board’s education center this year and moving on to flying the flag at all schools the following year in the month of June in perpetuity.

Archbishop Damphousse began his presentation by telling the board that instead of uniting the community, the motion to fly the gay Pride flag has caused “division” (watch presentation here beginning at 1:05:40).

“I have received many, many messages this past weekend from concerned parents, grandparents, staff, and Catholic school rate-payers about this motion,” he said. He went on to explain that, despite what LGBT activists state, the flag is not simply about promoting inclusivity, diversity, and tolerance.

“Now, we know that flags can have many meanings,” the Archbishop said. “The gay Pride flag is not just about inclusion. It is a political statement that endorses behaviors and lifestyles contradicting the Catholic Church’s teaching on the dignity of the human person.”

Damphousse reminded the trustees of their duty and responsibility to uphold and promote in Catholic schools the teachings of the Catholic Church.

“Our Catholic schools, and those who represent the participants in our Catholic schools, have a duty to uphold and promote what the Catholic Church teaches. Everyone in the Catholic school system has made a conscious choice to be part of it, knowing what our values are and what they entail,” he said.

“We contradict our values, and undermine the distinct identity of the Catholic school system, if we pretend to endorse political ideologies at odds with our Catholic faith,” he continued.

“This causes division,” he added.

The Archbishop went on to say that he is “really concerned about the spiritual well-being of our community right now.’”

He pointed out that Catholic schools already have symbols that represent everyone, leaving no one behind.

“We have two symbols already in our schools and on our buildings, the cross of Jesus Christ and the Canadian flag. The cross is a symbol of God’s love for each and every one of us, a love that saw Jesus Christ give his life for our salvation,” he said.

“The cross is the most inclusive symbol of our identity,” he continued.

“As Canadians, and those living in our great country, we recognize the privilege we have to participate in a multicultural society. And this is why we fly the Canadian flag. These two symbols include us all,” he added.

The Archbishop said that the gay Pride flag, when compared with these two uniting symbols, “endorses one political agenda over others, and it divides, it does not unite.”

“I urge you to reconsider this well-meaning but divisive motion that will only divide our school communities and not work towards fostering unity, peace, and respect,” he concluded.

Despite these strong words, the board nevertheless voted to fly the flags. Trustee Glen Armstrong was alone in voting against the motion. He suggested in questions to other trustees during the meeting that voting to fly the Pride flag would place them in conflict with the oath they took as trustees to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Teresa Pierre of Parents as First Educators criticized the trustees who voted in favor of the flags as being in “open rebellion” against their bishop.

“These travesties focus attention on the need to remove these trustees,” she said in an email to supporters.

Pierre commented that the trustees have also ignored Catholic parents who send their children to Catholic schools to receive a Catholic education.

May 26, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A group of Canadian physicians called for the end to “ethically unjustifiable” COVID-19 lockdowns, saying parents need to demand change from those in charge so that children can live their lives again without masks or “social distancing.”

“Make your voice heard and demand change. Write, tweet and speak to your school principal and trustees, politicians, community leaders, and sports organizations. Other parents will stand up with you. Often people are just waiting for someone to stand up and speak first,” said Dr. Stephen Malthouse in a video titled “Canadian Doctors Speak Out — Protecting Our Children From Harm.” The video was first released on May 19.

“And if that doesn’t get results, band together and hire a lawyer. Our children’s voices, health, and futures have been taken away. It’s up to all of us to speak up for them. Our children deserve to be children again, and the time for that to happen — that time is now.”

Malthouse was joined by nine other Canadian doctors in the video which was posted by Liberty Coalition Canada (LCC), which is behind the non-partisan “End the Lockdowns National Caucus” made up of current and former elected officials.

LCC started out as a national network of “clergymen, elected officials, small business owners, legal experts and other concerned citizens,” with the goal to “reopen Ontario Churches.” It expanded to include the group Professionals Against Lockdowns made up of nurses, doctors, law enforcement, and lawyers.

According to LCC, Professionals Against Lockdowns “aims to combat industry censorship by providing clear, evidence-based, scientific research that will educate and empower the public.”

Malthouse and many of the other doctors in the video are part of the Professionals Against Lockdowns group and said that the doctors in the video have “more than three hundred years of combined medical experience and family practice in emergency departments and in ICUs.”

“The science is clear: The risks of public health and school COVID policies far outweigh the benefits,” said Malthouse.

Malthouse added that parents can “refuse” to put a mask on their child. He suggested they “consider homeschooling” instead of going to public or private schools, saying kids need to be outside to play, as well as take vitamin D supplements and a “good multivitamin every day.”

Ontario Dr. Neda Amani spoke first in the video, saying there are “three scientifically proven reasons” why people should not be afraid of COVID-19.

“Asymptomatic spread is negligible, meaning healthy people rarely give others the disease. Young people and healthy people are not at risk of serious illness or death. There are inexpensive treatments available like vitamin D, hydroxychloroquine, and Ivermectin. Children are not at risk from getting COVID, and if they do get it, their symptoms are mild. The survival rate for the young is 99.997 percent, and that’s without any treatment,” said Amani.

“The data shows that COVID-19 is less deadly than influenza for children. An overwhelming number of peer reviewed studies shows that children are not a significant factor in the transmission of COVID. Studies in the U.K., Australia, Switzerland, France, Sweden, and Norway have shown that there is minimal child-to-child and child-to-adult transmission in schools. In fact, teachers are less likely to die from SARS-CoV-2 than the general population. The closing of schools is not medically warranted. Children have a powerful immune system geared up to deal with respiratory viruses like SARS-CoV-2.”

Dr. Keren Epstein-Gilboa, a developmental psychologist, said in the video she is “very concerned” about the “harm and fear” brought upon kids through “lockdowns” and all the “rules and regulations” they entail.

“I am very concerned about the harm and the fear being inflicted on children by lockdowns and all of the other COVID rules and regulations. Children are not able to understand and cope with the world as well as adults, and what they experienced now can affect them forever. Let’s look at the harm of social distancing. Children need to freely choose playmates, play at their own rate, talk, and be with others, in order for their brains to develop in a healthy way,” said Epstein-Gilboa.

An initiative in Mexico City to prescribe ivermectin to COVID-19 positive patients has resulted in a 52–76 percent reduction in hospitalizations.

MEXICO CITY, May 26, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A city-wide initiative in Mexico’s bustling capital to prescribe ivermectin to COVID-19 positive patients has resulted in a 52–76 percent reduction in hospitalizations, according to research by the Mexican Digital Agency for Public Innovation (DAPI), Mexico’s Ministry of Health, and the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).

Concerned about hospital capacity in the summer of 2020, the Mexican government devised an aggressive testing regime, ramping up from 3,000 tests per day in June to around 24,000 antigen tests every day by that November, according to TrialSiteNews. Mexico City Ministry of Health head Oliva López later announced that doctors will give ivermectin and azithromycin to treat COVID-19.

“The Ministry of Health has identified that there is enough evidence to use in people positive for SARS-CoV-2, even without symptoms, some drugs such as ivermectin and azithromycin,” López confirmed in a press conference.

Local authorities created a home-treatment-kit, including ivermectin, for its 22 million-strong population on December 28, 2020, following a spike in cases of COVID-19.

Individuals testing positive for COVID from an antigen test, and who were experiencing at least mild symptoms, began receiving one of the government’s ivermectin-based treatment kits from December 29.

As part of the program of testing and early treatment, the Mexican government opened a study to track the effect that early treatment of COVID with ivermectin was having on the city’s population. Run by the Mexico Ministry of Health, DAPI, and IMSS, a phone-based monitoring program traced the health of individuals testing positive for COVID with an antigen test. The study followed two cohorts — those who received ivermectin and those who did not — and included 200,000 people, TrialSiteNews revealed.

Using the data garnered from its phone-call-based monitoring system and hospital data on admissions for COVID-19, the researchers discovered a significant reduction in hospitalizations for the group administered ivermectin versus the group which was not, totaling between 52 percent and 76 percent effective at preventing hospitalization.

Dr. Juan J. Chamie-Quintero, a senior data analyst at private Colombian university EAFIT, followed the trends in hospitalizations and deaths in Mexico City before and after the government implemented its ivermectin treatment program.

Chamie-Quintero’s findings corroborated the Mexican government’s observations. The charts below, posted to Chamie-Quintero’s Twitter page, show COVID hospitalizations and deaths both peaking around the middle of January 2021, about two weeks after ivermectin started being distributed on December 29.

In the month following, over 50,000 treatments had been delivered, coinciding with a steep drop in the number of both hospitalizations and deaths involving COVID-19 in Mexico City.

In fact, before February 25, Chamie-Quintero noted that excess weekly deaths had dropped by a staggering 3,000 in the three weeks prior, and that by February 27, 2021, hospital occupancy had dramatically decreased, going from around 90 percent at the end of January to almost 50 percent just weeks later.

Mexico City’s success with ivermectin is a real-world instance of peer reviewed research into the remedial benefits of the drug against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

A new study on the efficacy of ivermectin published in the American Journal of Therapeutics analyzed “18 randomized controlled treatment trials,” finding “significantly reduced risks of contracting COVID-19 with the regular use of ivermectin” as a prophylaxis. In addition, the researchers discovered that the drug elicited “large, statistically significant reductions in mortality, time to clinical recovery, and time to viral clearance” in COVID patients.

The study concluded that “the many examples of ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality indicate that an oral agent effective in all phases of COVID-19 has been identified.”

Lynam registered her two teenage daughters for clinical trials of Pfizer. She enrolled her six year old daughter for clinical trial of Moderna.

Clinical Research Partners in Richmond, Virginia is facilitating the guinea pig trial of children by Moderna in the state.

There is very low possibility that people would know about any negative results of these trials.

However, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) provide an insight on the effects of the experimental mRNA shots on these children.

A two-year-old girl received her second (Dose 2) experimental Pfizer mRNA shot on February 25. She apparently developed some sort of serious adverse reaction on March 1. The baby was dead on March 3. No further details were provided.

Fight the Fines lawyer Chad Williamson plans to examine Chief Medical Officer of Health Dina Hinshaw on her affidavit that convinced a judge of the necessity of a secret restraining order that resulted in the arrest and imprisonment of the Whistle Stop owner, Chris Scott, for three days.

That restraining order prevented the promotion and organization of and attendance at "illegal public gatherings." At the time, public health restrictions limited gatherings to just five people outdoors, and those events had to conform to masking regulations and social distancing protocols. The order named Chris Scott and Glen Carritt specifically, but also included a blanket restriction for unnamed Jane and John Does to limit gatherings as well.

Scott was arrested for contempt of court at the Whistle Stop after holding a protest attended by 1,500 people. He was held for three days before his release.

Scott first reopened his Mirror, Alberta restaurant in defiance of the restaurant lockdown way back in January, and he hasn't closed since, despite summonses, court orders and his restaurant and gas station property being chained up and confiscated by Alberta Health Services and the RCMP.

Williamson is fighting the validity of a secret court order obtained without proper notification to his client. He's going to argue the merits of the order, and when he does, he's going to examine Chief Medical Officer Deena Hinshaw on her sworn evidence that was presented to a Calgary judge by AHS that ultimately led to an order limiting the assembly rights of 4.4 million Albertans.

Williamson and Chris Scott cannot do this alone. They are up against the limitless resources of the Alberta government which seems hell-bent on punishing entrepreneurs in the province for refusing to go bankrupt.

Ottawa City Council has approved a $2.9 million grant to a company building a new Porsche dealership.

On Wednesday, council voted 15-9 in favour of granting the tax break to Mark Motors of Ottawa for the purposes of building a Porsche dealership on Montreal Road in Vanier.

The grant comes under the Community Improvement Plan initiative. Under the initiative, companies can get a grant to offset 75% the municipal taxes of new developments.

The decision to approve the grant for the dealership was highly controversial among councillors, with multiple speaking out against the handout.

Coun. Diane Deans told the council that it should not be expected that funds earmarked for community improvement should go to a firm selling high-end cars.

“I don’t think it fits. I don’t think a clear case has been made that this incentive is required for the Mark Motors project to move forward at all,” she said.

“I don’t believe there’s a clear community benefit.”

The grant was defended by Mayor Jim Watson, who said the grant would result in $17 million in investment and create 20 jobs on Montreal Road.

According to CTV, at least 70 people staged a protest at the site of the future Porsche dealership on Tuesday ahead of the vote.

A number of community members came forward in the weeks before the vote, advising council the grant money could be spent better elsewhere.

The grant was also slammed by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, which called it a massive waste of taxpayer dollars when many are suffering from the effects of the pandemic.

“The Porsche dealership’s potential future owners claim that 20 new jobs will be created through opening this new dealership so the price tag for taxpayers is about $145,000 per job,” said Ontario Director Jay Goldberg.

“Ottawa City Council is increasing property taxes by 3% this year. Hardworking taxpayers should not have to pay even more in taxes just to see council waste their hard-earned tax dollars on corporate welfare for a luxury car dealership.”

The National Assembly of Quebec has unanimously passed a motion calling on tech companies to create a Quebec emoji.

On Wednesday, Quebec’s legislature passed the non-binding motion without debate. The motion was put forward by the Parti Québécois.

Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon called the motion a “small gesture” with significant symbolism, while also complaining that other non-independent places like Scotland have their own emojis but Quebec doesn’t.

“Quebec has the same right as several other nations around the world, the right to be proud and display this pride on social media,” he said before the vote.

The motion calls on the Unicode Consortium, the international organization that regulates internet language, to create a Quebec emoji “as soon as possible.”

Members of the Unicode Consortium include Google, Microsoft and Facebook. Plamondon says he will also write a letter to Facebook to try to expedite the process.

Dr. Marty Makary made the comments during a recent interview, noting that “natural immunity works” and it is wrong to vilify those who don’t want the vaccine because they have already recovered from the virus.

Makary criticised “the most slow, reactionary, political CDC in American history” for not clearly communicating the scientific facts about natural immunity compared to the kind of immunity developed through vaccines.

“There is more data on natural immunity than there is on vaccinated immunity, because natural immunity has been around longer,” Makary emphasised.

“We are not seeing reinfections, and when they do happen, they’re rare. Their symptoms are mild or are asymptomatic,” the professor added.

“Please, ignore the CDC guidance,” he urged, adding “Live a normal life, unless you are unvaccinated and did not have the infection, in which case you need to be careful.”

“We’ve got to start respecting people who choose not to get the vaccine instead of demonizing them,” Makary further asserted.

The professor’s comments come amid a plethora of media generated propaganda suggesting that natural immunity isn’t enough, and that those who do not choose to take the vaccine should be socially ostracised.

I write to you today as a highly experienced nurse with 27 years service, to inform you that when my registration expires on 31.05.2021 I will not be renewing it and therefore I am resigning my registration and leaving the profession.

The reasons for this are many but to summarise I am utterly dismayed and disheartened by my profession and with you as our governing body at the complete lack of integrity that has been displayed since the beginning of the ‘Covid19 Crisis’.

The facts about the reality and truth of this alleged crisis are readily available for anyone to find and investigate for themselves, not least you, a body that should have been doing just this, seeking the truth and advocating for both your members and our patients, past, present and future. We are patient advocates not government puppets.

Under the guise of ‘Covid19’ (which has never been isolated or purified) a massive injustice has been served onto the people of this country and globally. It was and remains our duty as healthcare professionals to learn the truth and to be the voice of these people, yet there has been a deafening silence and a sickening desire to simply comply by you and so many of my colleagues that I can not and will not condone. Sadly in these times, for me to speak out about these injustices and to be a true advocate for my patients has meant me being bullied and ostracised by my colleagues, removed from clinical practice by hospital management who state they are unable to consider any evidence presented to them that questions the official narrative and state that they must simply comply with government ‘guidance’ regardless of any harm they may cause.

When did our profession cease to be based on evidence? When did we become order followers uninterested in the facts on which we base the care we give and devastatingly now on which we deny patients and their families care? To speak out about the many 1000s of people in this country alone that have had treatment and investigations delayed or have been left to die, has meant me living in constant fear of being ‘struck off’ the register for simply doing what I swore to do, speak and act for the benefit of my patients at all times.

I refer below to the first part of our code of conduct.

You put the interests of people using or needing nursing or midwifery services first. You make their care and safety your main concern and make sure that their dignity is preserved and their needs recognised, assessed and responded to. You make sure that those receiving care are treated with respect, that their rights are upheld and that any discriminatory attitudes and behaviours towards those receiving care are challenged”.

This no longer seems to be at the forefront, of too many of my nursing and medical colleagues, minds and motives. I have witnessed personally and professionally many examples of the above ethos being completely disregarded and have been informed by patients and friends of their own experiences where their holistic needs have been disrespected and disregarded because ‘Covid19’ is a priority over, it seems, every other illness, and, a priority over the emotional, psychological and spiritual well being of both our patients and their families. Any nurse who can deny a child their families being with them when they are sick or dying totally contradicts the entire foundations of our profession, care. As does any nurse who denies end of life patients spending precious time with their loved ones, denying them entry into hospices for fear of ‘Covid’ transmission. Enforcing these restrictions rigidly and brutally, making families say their last goodbyes via the internet or knowing that families have slept in hospital/hospice carparks just so that they can feel close to their loved one at the time of death, because we have removed their right to hold their hands and be with them as they pass. The trauma that this must have caused people is unforgivable and not something I will ever condone and nor should you or anyone in our profession.

18 Connecticut teens hospitalized for heart problems after COVID vaccines, White House says young people should still get the shots

May 27, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) — One week after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced it was investigating heart inflammation in recently vaccinated young adults, Connecticut reported 18 new cases of heart problems among teens who had received a COVID vaccine.

All 18 cases resulted in hospitalization — the vast majority for a couple of days, reported NBC Connecticut. The cases were reported to the Connecticut Department of Public Health by vaccine providers, said Deirdre Gifford, acting health commissioner.

“One individual that we’re aware of is still hospitalized,” Guifford said Monday. “The other 17 have been sent home and they’re doing fine.”

The first case at Connecticut Children’s was Rachel Hatton’s 17-year-old son, Gregory.

“It’s terrifying,” said Hatton. Her son started complaining of severe chest pain three days after his second vaccine dose. It worsened on the fourth day, causing back pain.

After blood work and an x-ray, doctors diagnosed Gregory with pericarditis, an inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart that can cause sharp chest pain and other symptoms.

“They hooked him up to a heart monitor, did more EKGs, echocardiograms. Infectious disease actually came and ran their own set of blood work to try to figure out if it could have been caused by something else, some sort of infection, something else, like Lyme disease. They tested him for all sorts of things and one by one those tests came back negative,” said Hatton.

Doctors couldn’t confirm Gregory’s condition was caused by the COVID vaccine, but two more recently vaccinated patients presented to the hospital with similar symptoms. A spokesperson from Connecticut Children’s said patients have presented with both pericarditis and myocarditis

Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle that can lead to cardiac arrhythmia and death. According to the National Organization for Rare Disorders, myocarditis can result from infections, but “more commonly the myocarditis is a result of the body’s immune reaction to the initial heart damage.”

Mayo Clinic doctors say treatment focuses on the cause of the condition and symptoms, such as heart failure and shortness of breath.

Hatton said her son is now out of work, on medication and hooked up to a heart monitor. He will have another MRI in June to see if his condition has improved.

“I don’t sleep because … if I hear my son sneeze or if he sounds like he’s out of breath when I call him on my break at work, I get nervous because I just don’t know what else could happen. He basically has a heart condition now and it’s terrifying,” she said.

Canadian doctor removed from hospital duty after speaking out about COVID vaccine side effects

LYTTON, British Columbia, May 26, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A Canadian family doctor says he has been punished by his local health authority because he raised concerns about side effects he observed in some of those who had received the Moderna COVID-19 jab within his community.

“I am no longer allowed to work in the ER,” British Columbia Dr. Charles Hoffe said, according to a True North News report.

Hoffe added that his suspension from the ER came at the end of April, after his local health authority “suspended” his clinical privileges “for the crime of causing ‘vaccine hesitancy,’ for speaking out about my vaccine injured patients.”

In an April 5 letter, Hoffe had written to British Columbia Provincial Health Officer Bonnie Henry that he was “quite alarmed at the high rate of serious side effects from this novel treatment,” in reference to Moderna COVID-19 injections given to 900 mostly Indigenous people in Lytton, British Columbia.

Hoffe said he had observed one patient death, “numerous” allergic reactions, along with three individuals who had “disabling” neurological deficits completed with chronic pain, which persisted “for more than 10 weeks after their first vaccine.”

“So in short, in our small community of Lytton, BC, we have one person dead, and three people who look as though they will be permanently disabled, following their first dose of the Moderna vaccine. The age of those affected ranges from 38 to 82 years of age,” wrote Hoffe.

Following his letter, Hoffe said, he is no longer allowed to work in the ER department of St. Bartholomew’s Health Centre due to his views on the COVID injection. He still can work in his private practice.

“I am still permitted to see patients in my private practice, which is not under the jurisdiction of the Interior Health authority,” Hoffe said. Losing the ability to work in the ER has resulted in his income being slashed by half, which he explained is “the price of advocating for the safety of my patients.”

A community note which was posted on the Lytton Medical clinic door states that Hoffe’s “suspension” by the local health authority will “likely” mean that the “emergency room in Lytton will be closed for at least two weeks out of every month.”

In a recent statement, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) and the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) said they were aware of “public statements from physicians that contradict public health orders and guidance [being] confusing and potentially harmful to patients.”

CPSBC registrar and CEO Dr. Heidi Oetter threatened to take action against doctors who speak out against the government narrative, saying in the statement that those who “put the public at risk with misinformation may face an investigation by the College, and if warranted, regulatory action.”

Just recently, Hoffe was one of ten doctors who spoke in a video calling for an end to “ethically unjustifiable” COVID-19 lockdowns. The video was published by Professionals Against Lockdowns, which was created by Liberty Coalition Canada.

The physicians in the video said parents need to “demand” change from those in charge so that kids can live their lives again without masks or “social distancing.”

In the video, Hoffe stated that “children are not the main spreaders of this disease,” and urged people to not “risk ruining their life with this experimental vaccine in order to protect them from a disease that really poses no risk to them at all.”

“So if anyone tells you that your child needs to be vaccinated against COVID to protect you or their teacher or their grandparents or anyone else, it makes absolutely no sense at all,” said Hoffe.

He also mentioned other side effects his patients sufferend following vaccination with the COVID jab, including “constant pain, headaches, muscle weakness, and dizziness.”

“These were three previously healthy people whose lives have now been ruined by this experiment,” Hoffe emphasized.

Abstract

Background

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is caused by a newly discovered coronavirus (SARS-CoV). No effective prophylactic or post-exposure therapy is currently available.

Results

We report, however, that chloroquine has strong antiviral effects on SARS-CoV infection of primate cells. These inhibitory effects are observed when the cells are treated with the drug either before or after exposure to the virus, suggesting both prophylactic and therapeutic advantage. In addition to the well-known functions of chloroquine such as elevations of endosomal pH, the drug appears to interfere with terminal glycosylation of the cellular receptor, angiotensin-converting enzyme 2. This may negatively influence the virus-receptor binding and abrogate the infection, with further ramifications by the elevation of vesicular pH, resulting in the inhibition of infection and spread of SARS CoV at clinically admissible concentrations.

Conclusion

Chloroquine is effective in preventing the spread of SARS CoV in cell culture. Favorable inhibition of virus spread was observed when the cells were either treated with chloroquine prior to or after SARS CoV infection. In addition, the indirect immunofluorescence assay described herein represents a simple and rapid method for screening SARS-CoV antiviral compounds.

Background

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is an emerging disease that was first reported in Guangdong Province, China, in late 2002. The disease rapidly spread to at least 30 countries within months of its first appearance, and concerted worldwide efforts led to the identification of the etiological agent as SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV), a novel member of the family Coronaviridae [1]. Complete genome sequencing of SARS-CoV [2, 3] confirmed that this pathogen is not closely related to any of the previously established coronavirus groups. Budding of the SARS-CoV occurs in the Golgi apparatus [4] and results in the incorporation of the envelope spike glycoprotein into the virion. The spike glycoprotein is a type I membrane protein that facilitates viral attachment to the cellular receptor and initiation of infection, and angiotensin-converting enzyme-2 (ACE2) has been identified as a functional cellular receptor of SARS-CoV [5]. We have recently shown that the processing of the spike protein was effected by furin-like convertases and that inhibition of this cleavage by a specific inhibitor abrogated cytopathicity and significantly reduced the virus titer of SARS-CoV [6].
