I'm in a Canadian "shut down" province. I had an enjoyable week and weekend breaking numerous "laws" made by the assholes running this country.

Friends and family warned me repeatedly not to organize an event because what if the police come; what if we get a fine; what if we're not wearing masks.

My advice to everyone in Canada is to carry on with your normal activities. There is no way the asshats ruining our country have enough police officers and other petty tyrants to control millions of people. Just IGNORE them! All of it!

The town square should be a place for freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, and freedom of the press.

But Toronto’s spineless mayor, John Tory, picks and chooses which groups, and which journalists, can make use of the square.

Anti-lockdown protesters are forbidden from visiting this piece of asphalt.

But if you are part of a bunch of thugs known as Afro-Indigenous Rising, you are welcome to camp out on the square for three weeks while breaking 11 sections of the Trespass Act. Which is what they did last summer.

But we know from bitter experience that the security guards at city hall only like to enforce trespass charges if members of the media (in other words, Rebel News) dare to report on an illegal occupation.

You see, that might “trigger” the thugs and we can’t have that because these scholars tend to get violent.

Well, a different set of hooligans descended upon Nathan Phillips Square on Saturday evening for several hours.

The streets around the square were turned into parking lots by illegally parked cars — and gracious, not a meter maid in sight!

Some illegally climbed the square’s arches. Many spewed anti-Semitic hatred and some even physically assaulted Jews who had the temerity to display the flag of Israel.

The city hall security guards, the Toronto police, Mayor Tory and the mayor’s communications guru/chief spy Bruce Hawkins (He/Him) all apparently had no problem with this gathering.

The question arises: why?

Why the double standard when it comes to different protests?

We waded into this hate-fest targeting Israel and Jews to seek answers from security guards and police officers.

And par for the course, the only answers forthcoming were variations of “no comment.”

Then again, how could anyone justify such odious hypocrisy?

Maybe it boils down to this: peaceful anti-lockdown protesters are verboten because they are protesting the policies of various governments based in Canada; the pro-Hamas demonstrators are essentially protesting a foreign government.

And in that case, apparently anything goes. Even hate speech amongst other criminal activity.

And did the mayor or the premier or the prime minister condemn these protesters as, being, say, “a bunch of yahoos” for their complete disregard for social distancing? Because Middle East tensions aside, I think we’re still in a pandemic, aren’t we?

Of course not. For the likes of Mayor Tory, Premier Ford and Prime Minister Trudeau, what happened in Toronto last Saturday night was presumably another “diversity is our strength” moment.

Last week, two Members of the legislative assembly, Todd Loewen and Drew Barnes, were ejected from the United Conservative Party caucus in the Alberta legislature.

Todd Loewen openly called for Premier Jason Kenney to resign due to his mismanagement of COVID-related measures, so his ejection was not entirely surprising, but many believe that Drew Barnes’ ejection came without warning or even a justifiable reason.

Ottawa children’s hospital could turn to adult hospitals as mental health cases increase

The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) could soon be looking to Ottawa’s other hospitals to ease the burden brought on by the dramatic increase of young people needing mental health care.

The possibility of sending older teenage patients to adult hospitals came about after a regional hospital roundtable in early May. The vice president of mental health and addictions at CHEO Joanne Lowe told CBC News it is the first time the hospital has considered implementing this measure.

“I’ve been involved in mental health for over 30 years and I’ve never seen [demand] like this, ever,” said Lowe. “This is the next pandemic, and the needs aren’t going to end when this pandemic ends.”

CHEO said the number of emergency mental health assessments for young people has increased 50% since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lowe said doctors at CHEO are seeing more cases of depression, anxiety, drug overdoses and suicidal thoughts. Eating disorders are taking up the majority of resources in the mental health unit.

CHEO has 25 inpatient mental health beds, nine of which are set aside for patients who are refusing to eat, binge eating or purging their food. Lowe said the number of patients with eating disorders has skyrocketed since the COVID-19 pandemic started.

“We are seeing 18 to 22 kids in hospital at one time with eating disorders, and remember, we only have nine beds,” she said.

True North contributor Anthony Furey said in a tweet that this capacity problem demonstrates why lockdown measures need to be eased.

“If the logic is that we lock down all of society to protect the hospitals, and now those lockdowns are causing children’s hospitals to be overwhelmed, doesn’t that mean we must immediately end lockdowns for kids to protect the hospitals?” said Furey.

Lowe said once CHEO’s mental health beds are full, there are eight youth spaces at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre that can be used. If those beds fill up, older teens can be admitted into mental health units at the Monfort, Queensway Carleton or Ottawa hospitals.

The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto has reported a similar increase in eating disorders among young people.

“We write to you from a church that is also trans. A church is made up of people. People are different. We have confirmees, employees, churchwardens, elected representatives, non-profits, and other parishioners who define themselves as trans people. The church also consists of trans people. Therefore, the church could be described as trans,” the letter said.

The letter then decried the fact that some feminists are trying to protect female spaces from biological men, such as female sports or changing rooms, for which they are often denounced as TERFs (trans exclusionary radical feminists) by LGBT campaigners.

“This contributes to the normalisation of trans hate,” asserts the letter, betraying total ignorance for the fact that LGBT rhetoric is now embraced and amplified by every major cultural institution, transnational corporation and government entity in the west.

“We believe in a church and a God who welcome people beyond power, national boundaries, ethnicity, sexual orientation, sex and gender identity. A humanity in all the colours of the rainbow, absolutely amazing and infinite in its diversity. We are different and that is good. And God saw that it was good”, the letter concludes.

This is by no means the first time that the Church of Sweden has professed its ‘woke’ credentials.

In 2019, the Church of Sweden in Malmo rang its bells across the city in support of Greta Thunberg and her climate strike.

This occurred after the Church of Sweden had literally proclaimed Greta to be “Jesus’s Successor” (no, that’s not a joke, it actually happened).

Will 2020 Prove To Be The Beginning Of The End Of Modernity?

Daniel Hannan – Lord Hannan of Kingsclere – is today among Britain’s wisest and most articulate champions of classical liberalism.

He’s also today very pessimistic about the future of liberalism. This pessimism is on full display in this recent video.

Hannan predicts that the post-Covid-19 world “will be poorer, colder, grayer, more pitched, more authoritarian.”

I ardently wish that I found his stated reasons for pessimism to be unpersuasive, but this wish is not granted.

Hannan’s pessimism, to me, seems warranted.

But I believe that my summary here of Hannan’s point is accurate:

We humans are evolved to put our trust in hierarchy, for hierarchical methods of decision-making were quite effective at protecting the small tribe, as it roamed the countryside, from predators and privation. And our deep past was in fact fraught with dangers that, when not quickly avoided, killed us. In that long-ago era, anyone refusing to follow the leader’s commands was indeed a threat to the survival of the tribe. As a result, fellow tribe members turned on renegades. ‘Renegadeness’ was thus largely drained from the gene pool and replaced with the instinct to conform, especially whenever there was a perception of danger, which there was quite often.

Confidence in hierarchy, hair-trigger alarm, and fear of strangers (who back then usually were sources of real danger) helped our ancestors to survive. And survive they did for 300,000 years, nearly all of which time was spent hunting and gathering in small tribes. But these genetically encoded instincts that are so useful to members of the always-imperiled tribe do not support a liberal, open society of the sort that arose in the West over the past few centuries.

We humans have been around for at least 300,000 years. Nearly all – 97 percent – of this time was spent as hunters-gatherers in a perilous world. Yet only in the past two or three centuries have we stumbled upon a set of beliefs and institutions that suppressed many of our primitive instincts in a way that encouraged the emergence of modernity. By historical standards, the world that we know today is freakishly abnormal.

And while the material blessings of modernity – the likes of indoor plumbing, endless supplies and varieties of food, dwellings with solid floors and roofs, artificial lighting, faster-than-galloping-horses transportation, and miracle medicines – are easily noticed, all of these blessings as we know them today require a deep and globe-spanning division of labor. This division of labor is more unlikely and (hence) more of a marvel than are any of its most stupendous fruits, such as antibiotics, airplanes, and astronauts.

Modernity is not normal; it has been around for a paltry 0.1 percent of humans’ time on earth. And the reason modernity is not normal is that liberalism – the source of the division of labor and, thus, of modernity – is not normal. We humans are not genetically encoded to be liberal. Therefore, Hannan argues, there is every reason to expect that we humans will revert to our historical norm – the norm that is in our genes.

The reaction to Covid-19 is powerful evidence that our primitive instincts remain alive and ready to reestablish their dominance over the happy accident that is the culture, and resulting institutions, of liberalism.

The hysterical fear that Covid stirred in so many people – including in many who are highly educated, of a scientific mindset, and, until Covid, of a liberal bent – and the sheepishness with which people followed the “leaders” who promised protection from Covid prompts Dan Hannan to worry that 2020-2021 is the beginning of the end of modernity.

Chances are high that he’s correct. And if he is, civilization as we know it will end.

If that sounds like a lot of federal bureaucratic gobbledygook designed to obfuscate the fact that this is just a government think tank that talks about future trends and developments, then don’t worry. That’s exactly what it is.

The second thing you’ll notice about the document is the smirking face of Kristel Van der Elst, who, we are told, is Director General of Policy Horizons Canada and the erstwhile author of this document’s foreword. Three seconds of searching will reveal that Ms. Van der Elst is the former Head of Strategic Foresight at (you guessed it) the World Economic Forum, whose globalist bingo card is almost as impressive as Dr. Leana Wen’s. In addition to being intimate with the Davos crowd, she’s also a Fulbright Scholar who went to Yale, Special Advisor to European Commission Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, and, in addition to heading up Policy Horizons Canada, is also a fellow at the Center for Strategic Foresight of the U.S. Government Accountability Office. Quelle surprise.

So what does Van der Elst say in her foreword?

I feel trapped, with an enormous pressure on my heart, caught in this bad dream that just won’t end. I reach for common sense and facts to try to reason with a hysterical reality, but the enemy is controlling the narrative of the illusion.

Weaponized with lies and propaganda, the power of the TV is just too great. My words my warnings fall on deaf ears.

This week I lost my brother. He was a warm sweet soul. Loved and adored by many. Always wanting to do his part to help out. He had much compassion for his friends and family.

So although Jeff was not at a high risk from a Covid infection, he got the shot, to do his part, so not to pass on a cold to someone sick or elderly because it might be deadly for them.

Three weeks later Jeff found himself experiencing a heart attack. He was fortunate that there was an air ambulance available in Stevensville to take him to Saint Johns Newfoundland hospital.

The doctor there told him it was highly unlikely it was the Astro Zeneca vac that had caused the massive blood clots that caused his heart attack. But they would diagnose his blood to see why.

After about four days they moved him from their ICU ward to a room. Jeff said the blood tests came back citing abnormalities that they could not explain. But that it was too risky to do any more tests right then.

The next morning when I called Jeff he was excited because the doctor had told him he could go home. I was concerned that they were letting him go too soon, but I wished him a safe ride home.

Jeff got to spend one last night with his son and his wife. I was told he was so happy to be home. Jeff was found the next morning. He had passed over during the night.

We can only speculate as to whether Jeff’s death was a vax injury or not. My opinion is the hospital should have kept him longer and found what caused his blood abnormalities.

It’s pretty common knowledge now that the Astro Zeneca vax is bad! But still, they keep giving it to people. Some places have banned it but in many other places they still use it.

The Harper government has allocated $300 million to vaccinate thousands of girls as young as age nine against a sexually transmitted disease, human papillomavirus (HPV), which occasionally causes cervical cancer.

The vaccine (Gardasil) only works on girls with no sexual experience. So instead of teaching these children that it is self-destructive and degrading to be promiscuous, the government is inoculating them as if they were becoming prostitutes.

Instead of selling these girls, the politicians are taking their cut up front, from big pharma, profiting from promiscuity in the name of protecting “public health.”

This is the shape of socialism in the New World Order: enriching corporations by degrading and drugging the population.

In an interview with CBC-TV, a representative of Merck-Frosst, the maker of the vaccine, admitted that lobbying is how pharma business is done in Canada. [Apparently a former adviser to Harper became a lobbyist for Merck. ]

The last time the Canadian government took such drastic action was during a polio outbreak in the 1950’s. But there is no epidemic of cervical cancer now. In fact, it doesn’t even rank in the top 10 cancers affecting Canadian women. Whereas 400 women die of cervical cancer each year, over 5000 die of breast cancer.

At the same time, society is giving children the message that being “sexually active” is part of “becoming a woman.” In fact, girls become women by preparing to become wives and mothers. Promiscuity just makes them feel worthless and unwanted.

In a TV report, a mother just laughs when her 13-year-old daughter announces her intention to become “sexually active” at age 16. A father thinks the new vaccine is really cool while his daughter sits beside him in stunned silence. What message is she getting?

The current Canadian government pretends to be socially conservative and espouse “family values.” This is a funny way to do it.

The recent statement issued by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) is a clear violation of the mission of the CPSBC to “act first and foremost in the interest of the public.” The CPSBC fails in this duty by stifling genuine inquiry into what is best for patients and threatening to sanction any doctor who dares to question the merits of the prevailing measures.

Health Canada, and also the federal and provincial governments, have imposed measures that have never been utilized before and are not in alignment with standard pandemic procedures. This includes indiscriminate lockdowns, physical distancing, extensive use of face coverings, closure of schools, businesses, and places of worship, and emergency use authorization of unapproved genetic treatments that have not completed standard clinical trials.

Instead of recognizing that these measures do not appear to be working, and that other governments globally have ended these same measures, governments across Canada insist on doing more of the same regardless of the negative consequences. To date, our BC government and public health authorities have failed to provide appropriate scientific and medical evidence to support these measures in spite of numerous requests and legal proceedings filed against them. Public Health officials have also refused to participate in open and transparent debate on their measures with both the public and their own medical professionals.

In July 2020, Vaccine Choice Canada filed legal action against the Government of Canada, Government of Ontario, Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Teresa Tam and others. The defendants have failed to submit a Statement of Defence. It is not unreasonable to conclude that the various governments have not filed a statement of defence because they are unable to defend the use of the imposed measures.

There is a growing body of expert opinion globally which recognizes that these measures are doing more harm than good. The Great Barrington Declaration, which strongly advocates for an end to indiscriminate lockdowns, has been signed by more than 45,000 health care professionals globally. For the CPSBC to imply that the science is settled and that anyone who disagrees with the measures, or reports the harm caused by the measures is spreading ‘misinformation’, is unethical and immoral and cannot be tolerated.

The unfortunate reality is that the CPSBC is not alone in acting against physicians in this way. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) has similarly attempted to bully and censor its physicians. The public is rapidly losing trust in a medical system that rigidly follows policy dictates, disregards the patient’s experience, acts without reliable scientific data, denies the ethical and legal right to informed consent, and attempts to silence our frontline health care professionals.

Vaccine Choice Canada honours doctors as Dr. Stephen Malthouse and Dr. Charles Hoffe for their courage, integrity, and commitment to the health of their patients. This is what ethical doctors do. The muzzling of debate and silencing of frontline experts not only harms patients, it undermines the credibility of the CPSBC in the eyes of the public. The consequences of this loss of trust will be far reaching.

We strongly advise the CPSBC to withdraw their statement and instead issue a statement in support of BC physicians that “act first and foremost in the interest of their patients.”

Third jailed Canadian pastor to walk free after spending three days in prison

Pastor Tim Stephens was arrested after holding an indoor church service which went against Alberta’s health rules.

CALGARY, Alberta, May 18, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — The third Canadian Christian pastor to be jailed for defying COVID-19 health rules will be released after a judge yesterday agreed to let him out so long as he abides by a now-amended May 6 injunction order issued by the Alberta Health Services (AHS).

Pastor Tim Stephens of Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary, Alberta, was arrested in front of his family and then jailed on Sunday, May 16, after holding an indoor church service which went against the provincial government’s rules.

Stephens and his church have for months been under surveillance by AHS, the Calgary Police Service, and city bylaw officers because they have not bowed to government rules which limit worship congregation size and mandate masks. Additionally, Fairview Baptist was visited on multiple occasions by AHS and police.

According to the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), the legal group representing Stephens, AHS had wanted to keep him in jail until he agreed to “consent to the violation of his Charter rights and freedoms by Alberta’s public health orders.”

The JCCF noted that Stephens was arrested based on a May 6 court injunction issued by Associate Chief Justice Rooke, which was directed at the owner of Whistle Stop Café in Mirror, Alberta, who had defied government health orders and opened for dine-in service.

“The May 6 injunction does not apply to Pastor Stephens, nor did it apply to him at the time of his arrest. His arrest and current detention are illegal,” said lawyer and JCCF President John Carpay. “Alberta Health Services knows that the May 6 injunction, which originally applied to all Albertans having notice of this injunction, was amended by Associate Chief Justice Rooke on May 13. Since then, this injunction has applied only to Whistle Stop Café and certain named or affiliated individuals.”

In a court hearing today, Justice Germain of the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench said Stephens could be freed. At the same time, he noted that the terms of his release could be “varied on one day’s notice,” according to the JCCF.

The JCCF said that AHS has obtained their May 6 injunction against the Whistle Stop Café and other individuals in a “secret court proceeding” which gave police “special powers to arrest its owners and other citizens immediately if they dared to continue exercising their Charter rights and freedoms in the face of public health orders.”

The May 6 injunction was originally worded to apply to every Albertan, with AHS stating in a May 6 news release that they were happy with the news.

On May 13, the JCCF announced it successfully had the court amend the May 6 injunction so that it would not apply to all Albertans but only to those listed in court orders.

Before the May 6 injunction, police in Alberta could issue fines of up to $2,000 to those who attend peaceful and constitutionally legal protests.

According to the JCCF, court applications made without notice to the “other side” are normally retained for actual emergencies and “extreme situations, like seeking a restraining order against a violent domestic partner.”

“If providing proper notice of a court application might trigger a violent assault, the victim can obtain an injunction against the abuser without providing prior notice,” noted the JCCF.

“There was no emergency taking place in Mirror, Alberta, that warrants a court application without notice to Whistle Stop Café and its owners. The Alberta Government had already been issuing massive fines against individuals, while at the same time refusing to produce medical and scientific evidence in court actions in which Albertans have challenged the validity of public health orders for violating their Charter rights and freedoms,” said Carpay.

Carpay and the JCCF have been active in many legal cases, both in Alberta and Canada-wide, notably serving as legal counsel for Alberta Pastor James Coates of Grace Life Church, who was jailed for 35 days for defying COVID health rules. Coates’ trial will resume on June 7.

In addition to Coates and Stephens, Pastor Artur Pawlowski of the Cave of Adullam church, also located in Calgary, was arrested on a highway and jailed for defying COVID-19 health rules. He was released from jail after a three-day stay.

The Ontario data indicates that in the first four months of 2021 there were 853 reported assisted deaths. April 2021 had the highest number of assisted deaths ever with 241. There have now been 24,000 estimated assisted deaths in Canada since legalization.

May 19, 2021 (Euthanasia Prevention Coalition) – The April 2021 (MAiD) euthanasia data for Ontario indicates that even though the Province of Ontario has been under a strict COVID-19 “lock-down,” April 2021 saw the highest number of euthanasia deaths since legalization.

Since the federal government has been slow in releasing euthanasia data, the death data from the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario, which represents 39% of Canada’s population, provides us with a strong indication of the trend in euthanasia deaths in Canada.

The Ontario data indicates that in the first four months of 2021 there were 853 reported assisted deaths. April 2021 had the highest number of assisted deaths ever with 241.

As of April 30, 2021 there has been 7549 reported assisted deaths in Ontario since legalization. 7547 were euthanasia deaths (lethal injection) and 2 were assisted suicide deaths (lethal prescription).

The number of assisted deaths has been continually increasing in Ontario. There was a 33% increase in 2020 with 2378 reported assisted deaths, up from 1789 in 2019, 1499 in 2018, 841 in 2017, and 189 in 2016. Euthanasia was legalized in June 2016.

The number of cumulative reported Ontario assisted deaths indicates a trend:

December 31, 2018 - 2529 deaths (30 months),

First 6 months of 2019 - (774 deaths), Second 6 months of 2019 (1015 deaths),

First 6 months of 2020 - (1127 deaths), Second 6 months of 2020 (1251 deaths),

First 4 months of 2021 - (853 deaths).

In July, 2020, Health Canada released its first annual report on (MAiD). The data was gathered from the reports submitted by the physicians and nurse practitioners who assisted the deaths. There is no requirement that a third party or neutral person submit the euthanasia reports to ensure accuracy. We do not expect an update from Health Canada until July 2021

The data from the report indicated that in 2019, there were 5,631 MAID deaths reported in Canada, up from 4467 in 2018, accounting for 2.0% of all deaths. When all data sources are considered, there were 13,946 medically assisted deaths reported in Canada from legalization until December 31, 2019.

The Declaration

We are a broad and diverse group of Canadian physicians from across Canada who are sending out this urgent declaration to the Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons of our various Provinces and Territories and to the Public at large, whom we serve.

On April 30, 2021, Ontario’s physician licensing body, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), issued a statement forbidding physicians from questioning or debating any or all of the official measures imposed in response to COVID-19. 1

The CPSO then went on to threaten physicians with punishment – investigations and disciplinary action.

We regard this recent statement of the CPSO to be unethical, anti-science and deeply disturbing.

As physicians, our primary duty of care is not to the CPSO or any other authority, but to our patients.

When we became physicians, we pledged to put our patients first and that our ethical and professional duty is always first toward our patients. The CPSO statement orders us to violate our duty and pledge to our patients in the following ways:

1. Denial of the Scientific Method itself: The CPSO is ordering physicians to put aside the scientific method and to not debate the processes and conclusions of science.

We physicians know and continue to believe that throughout history, opposing views, vigorous debate and openness to new ideas have been the bedrock of scientific progress. Any major advance in science has been arrived at by practitioners vigorously questioning “official” narratives and following a different path in the pursuit of truth.

1. Violation of our Pledge to use Evidence-Based Medicine for our patients: By ordering us not to debate and not to question, the CPSO is also asking us to violate our pledge to our patients that we will always seek the best, evidence-based scientific methods for them and advocate vigorously on their behalf.

The CPSO statement orders physicians for example, not to discuss or communicate with the public about “lockdown” measures. Lockdown measures are the subject of lively debate by world-renown and widely respected experts and there are widely divergent views on this subject. The explicitly anti-lockdown Great Barrington Declaration (PDF ) was written by experts from Harvard, Stanford and Oxford Universities and more than 40,000 physicians from all over the world have signed this declaration. Several international experts including Martin Kuldorf (Harvard), David Katz (Yale), Jay Bhattacharya (Stanford) and Sunetra Gupta (Oxford) continue to strongly oppose lockdowns.

The CPSO is ordering physicians to express only pro-lockdown views, or else face investigation and discipline. This tyrannical, anti-science CPSO directive is regarded by thousands of Canadian physicians and scientists as unsupported by science and as violating the first duty of care to our patients.

1. Violation of Duty of Informed Consent: The CPSO is also ordering physicians to violate the sacred duty of informed consent – which is the process by which the patient/public is fully informed of the risks, benefits and any alternatives to the treatment or intervention, before consent is given.

The Nuremberg Code, drafted in the aftermath of the atrocities perpetrated within the Nazi concentration camps – where horrific medical experiments were performed on inmates without consent – expressly forbids the imposition of any kind of intervention without informed consent.

In the case of the lockdown intervention for example, physicians have a fiduciary duty to point out to the public that lockdowns impose their own costs on society, including in greatly increased depression and suicide rates, delayed investigation and treatment of cancer (including delayed surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy), ballooning surgical waiting lists (with attendant greatly increased patient suffering) and increased rates of child and domestic abuse.

We physicians believe that with the CPSO statement of 30 April 2021, a watershed moment in the assault on free speech and scientific inquiry has been reached.

By ordering physicians to be silent and follow only one narrative, or else face discipline and censure, the CPSO is asking us to violate our conscience, our professional ethics, the Nuremberg code and the scientific pursuit of truth.

We will never comply and will always put our patients first.

The CPSO must immediately withdraw and rescind its statement of 30 April 2021.

This past Saturday, around 1,000 Canadians gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery to protest against the totalitarian COVID-19 restrictions, unelected political health officers, and bureaucrats who have implemented rules which have eroded most of the fundamental rights and freedoms of Canadians.

The protest was part of the second Worldwide Freedom Rally, which was hosted in 45 cities across the world, including in Toronto, Ontario, where People's Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier called out politicians like NDP leader Jagmeet Singh for labelling freedom-minded protesters in Canada as racists.

Recently, Singh publicly suggested that there is a link between people who “don’t wear a mask” and “far-right extremists” who don’t care about other people. Calgary’s mayor, Naheed Nenshi, also accused people who march at freedom rallies “as marching in thinly veiled white nationalist supremacist anti-government protests.”

I decided to ask what mainstream media journalists won’t: I asked the very people these politicians are slapping labels on, including the rallies organizers, Danielle Kinchella-Pistelli, and Alicia Johnson, if they are, in fact, part of a far-right extremist, white nationalist/supremacist movement, and if not, what the actual purpose of their protest was for.

On Saturday, May 15, tens of thousands of Ontarians attended the Worldwide Freedom Rally on the lawns of Queen's Park, Ontario's legislature, in downtown Toronto.

As we do each week, Rebel News journalists, videographers and editors provided on the ground coverage of the rally. We know that the state-funded media won’t, so it’s usually all hands on deck — not just in Toronto, but across Canada.

As the weather gets warmer, and people become increasingly aware of government inconsistencies and nonsensical closures, it is more socially and politically acceptable to speak out against the harm of lockdowns. As a result we are seeing protest numbers growing each week.

At this rally I caught up with People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier, the “Clothing Isn’t Essential” Thong Man, a first time protester, a concerned mother, and several others including two individuals who had fled communist regimes that sounded alarm bells on what they’re seeing unfold in Canada.

Protesters are hopeful that as numbers grow, with more doctors speaking out, and elected officials get the courage to speak on their constituents behalf, that Premier Doug Ford's government will finally start to listen and change their pandemic response to a more balanced approach.

Justice Minister David Lametti is reminding members of parliament that constitutional rights and freedoms can be limited.

During an appearance before the House of Commons heritage committee during its hearings on internet regulation bill C-10, Lametti emphasized there are “legitimate” ways in which legislation can infringe the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including freedom of expression.

“When Parliament legislates it may affect Charter rights and freedoms. This may include limiting their enjoyment or exercise when it is in the broader public interest to do so,” Lametti said.

“This is entirely legitimate. The rights and freedoms guaranteed in the Charter are not absolute but rather subject to reasonable limits so long as those limits can be demonstrably justified.”

Lametti noted that any law which might limit Charter rights must be judged carefully to see if the limits are for the public good.

“The fact Charter rights and freedoms can be limited is not a license to violate them. Rather it is a reminder that any legislative limits to rights and freedoms must be carefully considered in the context of shared values.”

If passed, Bill C-10 would radically change how the internet is used in Canada. A decision by the Liberals to scrap an amendment which protected user-generated content from CRTC regulation sparked national outrage over free speech concerns.

The bill has been heavily criticized by the former heads of the Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and other experts for potential limits to free speech.

On Tuesday, Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet suggested his party will support Bill C-10 and even shorten debate to push it through more quickly.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is calling on the City of Ottawa to cancel a $2.9 million grant to build a luxury “world-class” Porsche dealership in the city after it was approved by the finance and economic development committee.

According to CTV News, Mrak Holdings Inc. will be completing the project at 458 Montreal Rd. where an Audi dealership is currently located.

“The City of Ottawa should not be spending taxpayers’ money on any kind of corporate welfare,” said Interim Ontario Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation Jay Goldberg in an official press release.

“Ottawa could use this money to fix potholes or give families a bit of tax relief, but there’s no reason to give a subsidy to a dealership selling cars that cost more than most people make in year.”

Ottawa hopes to give the project a total of $2,910,171 which will be distributed in installments over a period of ten years through the Community Improvement Plan Grant.

Funds for the grant will be obtained by the city through an increase in property taxes in the area from $25,627 per year to $355,619 per year.

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson fought back on claims that the funding was a grant claiming that it was an “investment” in the community.

“This is not a grant in the traditional sense where something is given and nothing is returned,” Watson said.

“This is an investment to act as a magnet to attract business to an economically challenged neighbourhood.”

A number of delegations appeared at the committee meeting to speak out against the project, including resident Henri Diotte who has lived in the area for 37 years.

“It may generate a bit of employment but I think the city should spend the money more wisely,” Diotte said.

Although the grant was approved by the committee, it still requires approval by city council during their next meeting on May 26.

“The Porsche dealership’s potential future owners claim that 20 new jobs will be created through opening this new dealership so the price tag for taxpayers is about $145,000 per job,” said Goldberg.

“Ottawa City Council is increasing property taxes by 3% this year. Hardworking taxpayers should not have to pay even more in taxes just to see council waste their hard-earned tax dollars on corporate welfare for a luxury car dealership.”

Ford government launches Ontario polluter snitch line

On Wednesday, the Ontario government released a pollution and spill reporting system where residents can report pollution incidents online or by phone.

According to the release, residents can use the tool to report incidents such as oil, chemical pollution, commercial noise pollution, illegal dumping and improper disposal of commercial wastes.

“Our government takes environmental violations very seriously and has zero tolerance for illegal polluters — and we know the people of Ontario are eager to do their part to protect our environment.,” said Jeff Yurek, Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks.

“With your help, we can hold polluters accountable and ensure compliance with the environmental laws we have in place to protect our air, land and water for generations to come.”

When residents submit a tip they will have the option to include additional information about the incident including the location, photographs and any video or audio files.

Prior to being elected in 2018, Ontario Premier Doug Ford ran on a campaign promise to fight the federally imposed carbon tax.

As Premier, Ford launched a constitutional challenge of the carbon tax, joining other provinces such as Saskatchewan and Alberta. The challenge was eventually quashed by the Supreme Court of Canada.

When the decision was handed down in March, Premier Ford said that while he was “disappointed” with the decision, his government would follow it.

“We’re definitely going to take a review of what the Supreme Court decision means for Ontario on our environment policy and move on from there,” said Ford at the time.

“Right now, I think we have a strong made-in-Ontario environment plan that’s going to put the necessary protections in place for the land, air and water.”

Leap Manifesto co-author Avi Lewis to run for NDP next election

Eco-activist and filmmaker Avi Lewis is set to be acclaimed as an NDP candidate ahead of the next federal election.

On Monday, Lewis announced he was seeking the NDP nomination for the riding of West Vancouver—Sunshine Coast—Sea-to-Sky Country. He is currently the only candidate for the party’s nomination.

Lewis comes from a family of NDP activists as the grandson of former federal NDP leader David Lewis and son of Ontario’s former NDP leader Stephen Lewis. He is married to author Naomi Klein.

In 2015, Lewis and Klein co-authored the Leap Manifesto, which calls for an immediate moratorium on Canadian energy projects and projects and mines owned by Canadian companies abroad.

Some principles of the manifesto were later adopted by the NDP.

“There is no longer an excuse for building new infrastructure projects that lock us into increased extraction decades into the future,” the Leap campaign wrote.

“The new iron law of energy development must be: if you wouldn’t want it in your backyard, then it doesn’t belong in anyone’s backyard.”

The Leap Manifesto was heavily criticized at the time for being impractical and was perceived by many as being anti-Western Canada for its attacks on the resource sector.

Even former Alberta Premier Rachel Notley rejected the Leap Manifesto as naive and tone deaf.

Speaking to CTV’s Power Play, Lewis claimed that climate change requires Canada to radically restructure society, adding that the principles of the Leap Manifesto are now considered “common sense.”

“For years in the climate movement, people have not believed that gigantic change is possible and yet the scientists say that to keep temperatures safe we need rapid, far-reaching, and unprecedented change in every aspect of society,” he said.

“We have a housing crisis, a transit crisis, and a pandemic that has revealed the shortcomings of our public health system.”

From 1998-2001, Lewis hosted his own show on CBC. Since then he has worked on films and documentaries, most recently a 2019 short film featuring American Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Lewis will be running against incumbent Liberal MP Patrick Weiler.

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia, May 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian provincial Supreme Court has ordered a “halt” to all “anti-vaccine and anti-public health order protests,” through a court injunction, a move which one constitutional lawyer says is a spectacular display of “overreach.”

“This injunction order is stunning in its breadth and overreach. Essentially, it is prohibiting anyone in the province of Nova Scotia from exercising their freedom of peaceful assembly, or even posting about it on social media. If they do, they face arrest and contempt of court proceedings which could lead to significant fines and even jail time,” Lisa Bildy, lawyer for the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) told LifeSiteNews.

In statement sent out last Friday, Nova Scotia Justice Scott Norton granted the injunction to “prohibit” all rallies which go against to province’s health orders.

“The Supreme Court of Nova Scotia has ordered a halt to anti-vaccine and anti-public health order protests, effective immediately,” reads a press release from the provincial government of Nova Scotia announcing a new court injunction banning anti COVID-19 protests.

According to the Nova Scotia government, the injunction “prohibits any rally that would contravene the province’s public health directives,” as well as promoting such events on social media.

Bildy said that in his court order, Norton made “numerous assumptions about the benefits and necessity of lockdowns,” and stakes the claim that “science, medicine and common sense are all on the side of the government's unprecedented measures taken over the last 14 months.”

However, Bildy told LifeSiteNews that the order was made “without notice to any other party, and therefore without any evidence to the contrary or cross-examination of the government's witness which might challenge those assumptions.”

“The order doesn't just apply to those named in it, but to anyone who ‘acts independently to like effect’ and has notice of it,” said Bildy.

The injunction came about because of planned protest which was to be held on May 15 by the group “Freedom Nova Scotia.”

In a Facebook post, the group said they had cancelled the May 15 event “under duress.”

“Canadians have a right to freedom of peaceful assembly and freedom of association in Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in The Constitution Act of Canada, 1982 and Part 1 of the Canadian Bill of Rights. These rights do not go away just because of a provincial ‘health emergency,’” stated the group.

According to Justice Norton, the group’s plan to stage an anti COVID-19 lockdown rally showed “a callous and shameful disregard for the health and safety of their fellow citizens.”

The move to bar its residents to freely express their constitutional right to protest draconian COVID-19 health rules happened under Liberal Party Premier of Nova Scotia Iain Rankin.

Rankin said that all “Nova Scotians must respect the public health orders and directives.”

CALGARY, Alberta, May 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A lawyer for one of Canada’s leading constitutional rights groups is warning that a new bill in the province of Alberta will give the government dangerous new powers by entrenching the “authoritarianism of the Chief Medical Officer of Health.”

“In short, Bill 66 further entrenches the already authoritarian and arbitrary rule of one unelected official at the expense of due process, fundamental justice and the civil liberties of Albertans,” wrote lawyer and President of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) John Carpay, in a recent opinion piece.

"Unfortunately, Bill 66 worsens the status quo, by entrenching the authoritarianism of the Chief Medical Officer of Health to continue making laws for Albertans without input from the elected Members of the Legislative Assembly. Bill 66 places no checks on Dr. Deena Hinshaw, and instead expands her already undemocratic and authoritarian powers.”

Carpay’s opinion price was written in regard to Bill 66, the Public Health Amendment Act, 2021, which was introduced by Alberta’s Health Minister Tyler Shandro in April of this year, to repeal Bill 10, a law passed in haste in April of 2020 by the Alberta government under Premier Jason Kenney in response to COVID-19.

Shortly after Bill 10 was introduced, a public outcry ensued, with opponents of the bill protesting that it gave too much power to ministers and that it was a severe government overreach.

Further dooming Bill 10 was the fact that it was passed in only 48 hours, despite strong opposition from the Alberta NDP, who wanted the bill to include a sunset clause along with transparency rules included.

The JCCF took the Alberta government to court over Bill 10, arguing that it gave “sweeping, undemocratic powers” to Kenney and his ministers and that it is a “blatant violation of Canada’s constitution.”

According to Carpay, Kenney simply “lied” in trying to justify the sweeping powers afforded under Bill 10.

“Alberta Premier Jason Kenney simply lied about it. He told Albertans that he was merely ‘clarifying existing powers in the Public Health Act,’ when in fact Bill 10 gave new, sweeping, undemocratic powers to him and his ministers. Now, 12 months and one court action later, cabinet ministers stand to lose a power they should never have received in the first place,” wrote Carpay.

As a result of the negative backlash to Bill 10, the Kenney government promised it would look into the concerning parts of the bill and repeal them, which is what Bill 66 was reportedly introduced to accomplish.

Carpay said that there was good news in Bill 66, namely that the “worst section” of Bill 10 will be repealed (minister overreach), along with a decades old mandatory vaccinations section of the Public Health Act.

“The mandatory vaccinations section of the Public Health Act will be repealed after 37 years on the books. This is a victory for the right of every Albertan to determine what will – or will not – be injected into her or his body. This brings this section of the Public Health Act into line with the Nuremburg Code of 1947,” wrote Carpay.

However according to Carpay, Bill 66, despite two good sections, is in fact worse overall than Bill 10 and is full of “worrisome” steps backwards.

Under Bill 66, Carpay says that the first step “backwards” is the fact that Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, “is not required to provide regular reports to the Legislature containing the medical and scientific basis for her society-crippling and economy-destroying orders.”

The prominent pro-life priest explained that the Men’s March on June 12 will begin 11:00 a.m. at Washington Surgi-Clinic, (2112 F Street NW, 20037) a late-term abortion facility, for prayer. Washington Surgi-Clinic is located in D.C.’s posh Foggy Bottom neighborhood near George Washington University. The abortionist at that practice, Dr. Cesare Santangelo, was caught on tape in 2013 agreeing to deny medical care to a viable child who survives an abortion. The abortion center has also been the site of recent Red Rose Rescues.

The men will then march five to seven blocks to the White House, where “an apostate Catholic” lives.

“We want to draw attention that we are not going to tolerate the daily mass murder: government protected, government sanctioned, government funded of pre-born children,” emphasized Imbarrato.

Unlike other pro-life marches, this one has a dress code: All men must wear suits and priests are to wear clerics. There will only be one banner and no signage will be allowed.

Imbarrato made it clear that the Men's March will be a statement of manhood, fatherhood, and of what men are called to be. The statement is even more poignant as the men will be marching on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary (in the post-1962 calendar), in the Year of St. Joseph, and right before Father's Day.

Imbarrato also hopes that the Men’s March will be “a seed.” He hopes this will turn “into a national movement where men take the lead – which of course we know, men should be the spiritual head of the household – men should take the lead in the spiritual life of a particular area.”

Imbarrato hopes to see regional marches in the fall, also led by men. “This is going to be a spiritual movement … led by men.”

“We've lost the [U.S.] House, we've lost the Senate, and have been putting our hopes in the Supreme Court … we need to find decisive strategies to end pre-born child killing,” the priest told LifeSite. “That is why I really think a national movement of men could lead us to a type of nonviolent, prayerful, peaceful protest that I think we're going to need to get the government to realize that we are not going to accept or tolerate the government-funded, government-protected, government-sanctioned daily mass killing of pre-born children.”

Canadian Mayor Claims Anti-Lockdown Protests Are ‘Thinly Veiled White Nationalist Supremacist’ Activities

Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi has claimed that anti-mask and anti-lockdown protests in Canada during the pandemic are “thinly veiled white nationalist supremacist” activities and condemned demonstrators.

Nenshi, who became the first Muslim mayor of a major Canadian city in 2010, spoke out about the anti-lockdown rallies during a television interview over the weekend.

“Those people at those anti-mask protests, let’s not kid ourselves. They’re not people who [are protesting because they] need to eat. They are people who are marching in thinly veiled white nationalist supremacist anti-government protests,” he told Canadian broadcaster Global News.

Nenshi’s comments came as Calgary police arrested Polish-Canadian pastor Artur Pawlowski and his brother after he had held in-person church services, contrary to the Wuhan virus lockdown regulations in place in the province of Alberta.

In April, a video of Pawlowski went viral across social media, showing him expelling police from his church after officers disrupted an Easter service and denouncing the officers as “Gestapo Nazi communist fascists”.

Pawlowski is not the first Christian pastor in Alberta to be arrested for violating the lockdown restrictions in recent months, with Pastor James Coates of GraceLife Church of Edmonton being arrested in February.

The trial for Pastor Coates began last week, with Coates arguing that the provincial lockdown restrictions are a violation of freedom of religion and freedom of assembly.

Far-left New Democrat leader Jagmeet Singh joined Nenshi in condemning anti-lockdown protests, telling reporters on Monday that he believed the demonstrations were linked to far-right extremism and saying: “To brazenly not follow public health guidelines puts people at risk and that is something that we’ve seen with extreme right-wing ideology.”

The Canadian Anti-Hate Network (CAHN), a group funded by the government of Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau to the amount of $268,400 CA ($221,600 U.S./£156,600), has also linked the anti-lockdown protests to far-right extremism.

On Twitter, the group reacted to the detention of Pastor Pawlowski by claiming the arrest would be used to “grift” and raise money, alleging: “These people love being martyrs.”

This past Saturday, May 15, around 1,200 Albertans took to the streets of Calgary to protest against COVID-19 lockdown measures. I can personally say the protest felt more like a friendly dance party, with many familiar faces like John Carpay, president of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, who gave an inspiring speech before the rally started.

This protest happened just one day after a court injunction was changed, putting a restraining order on not only Chris Scott of the Whistle Stop Cafe in Mirror, Alberta but also the other 4.4 million Albertans. This court injunction made it possible for anyone to be subject to an arrest and criminal charges simply for gathering — see Pastor Artur Pawlowski, for instance.

A common theme while protesters were interacting with the very friendly, yet heavy police presence, was why police hadn’t been out in force at recent pro-Palestine protests, which happened while the court injunction was still in effect for all Albertans.

Another interesting detail of this very exciting day was that there were two different protests, one with the march downtown and the other which had Adam Skelly from Toronto’s Adamson BBQ serving food for donations. There was some division between the groups, as people questioned the credibility of an organizer who had cancelled due to the court injunction in hopes of dodging arrest, and then reversed that when the order was lifted at the last minute. Some people weren’t too happy with the calls that were made.

All in all, however, it was a successful and good day for democracy. No fines were given that I am aware of, there were no arrests, and we even got a police escort on our lovely stroll through downtown Calgary.

Pro-Israel protester punches Rebel journalist during duelling Montreal rallies

Tear gas, pepper spray, rocks, and knuckles spoke loudly in Montreal over the weekend.

On Saturday, thousands of Palestine supporters made their voice heard at Montreal’s Dorchester Square, where the very next day a pro-Israel protest also took place. The two rallies featured about the same number of people.

A pro-Palestine counter-protest took place alongside Sunday’s pro-Israel demonstration, at the nearby Place du Canada. The first physical altercation of the day took place inside the Israeli side, where two counter-protesters got inside the crowd despite heavy police presence, and allegedly pepper sprayed three individuals after a physical altercation. Police made at least one arrest related to the incident.

The second act of violence broke out after a group of counter-protesters passed by the square and began shouting insults both in English and French. After a moment, the same group returned back and a physical altercation took place between the two groups.

After police broke up the fight and made an arrest, and a few metres away from the action on top of a bridge, Rebel News’ Chief Videographer Mocha Bezirgan was punched in the face by an pro-Israel demonstrator while recording the stealing of a Palestinian flag, which prompted cheers among Israel supporters.

Later on, the attacker wouldn’t admit his crime, neither to Mocha nor to the police, and denied that it was him who did it, alongside other eyewitnesses gaslighting Mocha and barring false witnesses to the police.

At the end of the pro-Israel rally, multiple rocks were being thrown from the pro-Palestine counter-protesters to the pro-Israel side across the street indiscriminately. The police deployed tear gas and pepper spray against the pro-Palestine counter-protesters but ultimately ended up affecting the pro-Israel demonstrators as well.

With panic ensuing, both sides began running out of the square. The mayhem continued in the busy streets of downtown Montreal, with police and tear gas on almost every corner. Many pedestrians and businesses were affected by the tear gas and police made multiple other arrests.

Liberal MP Mark Gerretsen was in for an unpleasant surprise on Wednesday after he asked his followers on Twitter to judge whether his party was conspiring to strip Canadians of their freedom of speech or whether the Conservatives were fabricating the threat of the Liberals’ internet regulation bill, C-10.

Garretsen made the comment in response to a tweet by Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole which implied that the Liberals, NDP, Bloc Québécois and the Green Party were for “controlled speech” while the Conservatives supported free speech.

The tweet quickly spread on social media as Canadians chimed in to tell Garretsen that they believe the Liberal government was trying to strip the free speech rights of Canadians.

“Option 1. When the former head of the CRTC and esteemed professors in the field are saying it is an attack on free speech, I’ll believe them over politicians with an agenda,” tweeted Twitter user Tammy.

“I will side with the experts who are not on the [Liberal Party] payroll and choose option 1,” tweeted Fred Kirkey.

Others, including Conservative MP Scott Aitchison, True North founder Candice Malcolm and True North fellow Andrew Lawton also joined in to contradict Gerretsen.

Over the weekend, Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet told the CBC French-language program Tout le monde en parle that his party would support Bill C-10 and will be requesting for the Liberal government to fast track the bill before the legislative session ends this summer.

Critics of Bill C-10 have claimed that the legislation is deeply flawed and would harm Canadians’ right to freedom of expression.

A growing chorus of experts including several former Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) officials including CRTC ex-chair Konrad von Finckenstein and former CRTC commissioner Timothy Denton have condemned the bill as dangerous.

Both von Finckenstein and Denton signed a petition earlier this week comparing the bill to steps taken by “authoritarian” regimes to clamp down on freedoms.

“It appears Canada is not immune to the growing trend of government intervention to curtail freedom and seek to control parts of the internet’s infrastructure in ways reminiscent of actions taken by authoritarian governments,” wrote the petition.

“We are Canadian internet policy and technical professionals writing as concerned experts and on behalf of all those who care about the future of a free and open internet.”

Ontario saw 75% spike in opioid overdoses during pandemic in 2020: report

A new report reveals that deadly opioid overdoses were up 75% following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 when compared to deaths the year prior.

The report which was published by the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network through Toronto’s St. Michael’s Hospital revealed that 2,050 people died of opioid overdoses between March and December 2020.

In comparison, 1,162 people died from opioid overdoses over the same time period in 2019.

“It’s alarming because these increases in overdose deaths are continuing unabated,” report co-author Tara Gomes told CP24.

According to Gomes, the COVID-19 pandemic is a contributing factor to the spike in deadly overdoses.

“The COVID 19 pandemic has really accelerated the rate at which fatal opioid overdoses are occurring across the province,” Gomes said.

“This is in part due to an increasingly unpredictable drug supply that is contaminated and highly toxic, but also the changes in access to health-care services, as well as the places where people are living, and the lack of support that people have now in the community.”

The report also noted that the deadly and highly potent synthetic opioid fentanyl has played a bigger role in the number of deaths reported as of late. As noted in the study, fentanyl played a role in 87% of all opioid deaths whereas in 2019 the deadly drug was detected in only 75% of cases.

People between the ages of 25 to 44 seem to be most affected by the increase in deadly overdoses with 1,109 deaths reported in that age group.

Ontario’s homeless population has also been heavily impacted by the drug crisis with 323 deaths reported in 2020 compared to 135 deaths recorded the year prior.

The study seems to reinforce prior reports of opioid overdoses in the province. In November, Public Health Ontario reported that in the first 15 weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, 695 people had died of opioid-related deaths.

The findings revealed a 38% increase when compared to the 15 weeks immediately before the pandemic.

While Politifact defenders argue that the 'fact checker' is simply holding themselves accountable - they decreed the lab escape theory to be 'debunked' - as in proven false - at the same time as former President Trump - and individuals credentials equal or better to their 'sources' were saying otherwise.

The foundation takeover of the "American Medical Schools" followed almost immediately after Frederick Taylor Gates (1853-1929) went to work for Rockefeller. It was fast and it was simple. It took place in three steps.

The first was when Rockefeller and Carnegie together financed the famous Flexner Report of 1910 written by Abraham Flexner, (1856-1959) hired by Rockefeller and Carnegie.

Flexner traveled all over the country and made a very scholarly analysis of how bad the level of medical education was in America and he was right. He didn't distort it. To my knowledge he didn't distort (any of it). He didn't have to. There were diploma mills. There were a few good schools. But, there were a lot of mediocre schools and there were a lot of bad schools.

And people could get a medical degree just by paying enough money and so Flexner brought all of this together in the Flexner Report. It was published by the foundation as a public service and everybody was very much concerned. Something had to be done. You see now, the problem was crystallized with foundation money.

The next step was to solve the problems. Rockefeller and Carnegie then provided the money to solve the problem. They offered tax-free grants. Tremendous infusions of millions and millions of dollars to those selected medical schools that were cooperative and that were willing to go along with the recommendations made by Rockefeller and Carnegie.

The ones who weren't willing to submit themselves to the influence of the money didn't get any, and they fell by the wayside. The ones who did go along got this money and were able to build big buildings to attract qualified teachers. They were able to get the necessary equipment, and they became the large medical schools in America today, through Rockefeller and Carnegie money.

Gates and Flexner, and those whom they appointed, became Board members and consultants for all of these schools. And you can be sure, ladies and gentlemen, that if you are on the Board of Trustees of the school and you are struggling for money and somebody comes to you and says here is 10 million dollars and then they say, however, or by the way, we would suggest that the next time you look for a president we suggest that you look at Mr. Smith, he's a fine, reputable man.

You will listen very carefully when they make that suggestion and Mr. Smith becomes the next president.

Mr. Smith listens very carefully when Mr. Gates, Mr. Rockefeller, or Mr. Carnegie say, "now, Mr. Smith, you need people on your teaching staff with these qualifications, and we suggest that you look at Dr. Jones, Dr. Radcliffe and so forth. Worse than India? How can that be? And why have 8 “fully vaccinated” members of the New York Yankees tested positive for Covid? Here’s the story from the Associated Press:

“New York Yankees shortstop Gleyber Torres tested positive for Covid-19 despite being fully vaccinated and having previously contracted the coronavirus during the offseason. Torres is among eight so-called breakthrough positives among the Yankees — people who tested positive despite being fully vaccinated.” (NBC News)

And if that’s not confusing enough, check out what’s going on in Cambodia. Cambodia began its vaccination campaign in early February after having compiled zero fatalities. That’s right, the country had no Covid deaths until March, a few weeks after it started its vaccination program. And that’s when the deaths started piling up.

So, let’s see if we can figure this out. There were zero fatalities before the launching of the vaccination campaign, but soon after the injections began, the fatalities started to mount. Do you think there might be a connection here? Do you think that, perhaps, the deaths are linked to the vaccines?

Of course, they are. And, that’s why the media is trying to sweep this story under the rug. It doesn’t fit with the “official narrative” about the vaccines, so they’ve decided to “vanish” the story altogether. “Poof” and it’s gone! And, actually, it’s worse than a cover-up because– shortly after Biden took office– the CDC changed its testing methodology making it harder to test positive. In other words, they rigged the system so it would look like fewer “fully vaccinated” people had contracted Covid after inoculation. Dr. Joseph Mercola explains what’s going on behind the scenes:

May 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – Some of the sharpest tech critics in Canada are urging Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in an open letter to put the brakes on a bill to regulate the internet that they say will undermine a “free and open Internet in Canada” and “curtail freedom.”

“We call on you to stop harming the Internet, the freedoms and aspirations of every individual in this country, and our knowledge economy through overreaching regulatory policies that will have significant, yet unintended consequences for the free and open internet in Canada,” the May 17 letter, signed by more than two dozen respected tech critics, states.

The letter comes in the wake of the Trudeau government introducing Bill C-10 last year to regulate certain online media services through the creation of a new class of broadcaster called “online undertakings.” The regulations, overseen by Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), would come into effect by the bill amending the country’s Broadcasting Act.

Critics warn that if the bill passes, it would regulate social media users in Canada while only allowing online content the government deems acceptable.

The signers of the open letter say the bill smacks of authoritarianism.

“However, it appears that Canada is not immune to the growing trend of government intervention to curtail freedom, and seek to control parts of the internet’s infrastructure, in ways reminiscent of actions taken by authoritarian governments,” they write.

Among the signatories of the open letter are the VP of a large internet service provider in Canada, a former chairman and commissioner at the CRTC, and academics from the University of Toronto and the University of Ottawa.

The critics lay out all of their concerns to Trudeau.

“A recent series of proposals and actions taken by your government threaten to adversely impact our freedom to access online content of our choice, to post legal content without fear of censorship, and even risk disrupting the technical infrastructure of the internet,” the letter states.

“We understand that some online regulation may be necessary, and that policies need to be updated. But decisions about Canada’s internet policy can’t be taken lightly – they have social, economic and cultural implications and could harm the technical foundation that makes the internet work for everyone,” the letter continues.

“We urge you to carefully consider decisions through consultation and impact assessments to avoid negative implications for individuals, our economy, and our democracy. More than ever, we need evidence-based policies that reflect the interests of every individual in this country – not rushed, politically-driven processes that respond only to those of a few,” it adds.

The group criticized Trudeau for being “committed to protecting an open internet and net neutrality” in 2017 only to go on to make “uninformed decisions that threaten to undermine the Internet and innovation in Canada.”

“We ask you and your team to pause and take the time to study the harmful implications of recently tabled internet policies and regulations,” the letter concludes.

Canadian free speech defender Jordan Peterson criticized the bill last week on Twitter.

"How about we don't do this, Canada. I'd hate to move," he wrote.

Peterson let Trudeau know on Twitter that Canadian freedoms would not be lost without a fight.

“Just try and regulate my YouTube channel and see what happens @JustinTrudeau,” he challenged.

Bill C-10 has passed its first reading. Last week, the Department of Justice released its findings that the bill was compatible with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and would not restrict social media users’ freedom of expression.

Conservative leader Erin O’Toole has pledged that a Conservative government would “repeal” the bill.

“The Liberals want to push through Bill C-10 with no regard for your free speech. If Bill C-10 passes, a Conservative government will do the right thing and repeal it,” he wrote in a May 19 tweet.

Research shows people with underlying health disorders or on immunosuppressive medications mount few antibodies to COVID vaccines, leading some to question if they should get the vaccine and, if so, what are the potential risks?

May 20, 2021 (Children’s Health Defense) ­– Emerging research shows that 15% to 80% of people with certain medical conditions aren’t generating many antibodies, if any, after receiving a COVID vaccine.

According to NBC News, people taking medications that suppress their immune system, those on medication for inflammatory disorders and those with blood cancers showed a significantly weaker antibody response to the vaccine.

An organ transplant study published in JAMA found 46% of 658 transplant patients did not mount an antibody response after two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines. Researchers think the lack of reaction is probably a result of taking a class of immunosuppressive drugs, called antimetabolites.

“Although this study demonstrates an improvement in … antibody responses in transplant recipients after dose two … these data suggest that a substantial proportion of transplant recipients likely remain at risk for COVID-19 after two doses of mRNA vaccine,” researchers from Johns Hopkins wrote.

“I am quite disappointed that a significant amount of transplant patients did not get a reasonable response from both doses of the vaccine,” said Dr. Dorry Segev, author of the study, associate vice chair for research and professor of surgery at Johns Hopkins University.

“The overwhelming majority of transplant patients, even after a second dose of the vaccine, appear to have suboptimal protection — if any protection — from the vaccine, which is frightening, disappointing and a bit surprising,” Segev said.

One of Segev’s trial participants, Laura Burns, received a double lung transplant in 2016, and was taking immunosuppressive medications to prevent her body from rejecting the new lungs. Despite two doses of Moderna’s vaccine, her body did not mount any detectable antibodies to the virus.

However, Segev said he was hopeful because the number of participants who developed antibodies after two doses was higher than the number of people who developed antibodies after just one dose. He and other researchers said scientists are prepared with potential solutions, including a third booster or high-dose shots — though no clinical trials have been conducted yet.

Mounzer Agha, a hematologist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, led a study on blood cancers and COVID vaccines posted online before peer review. Agha said he was crushed when he saw the low antibody results for nearly half of the 67 patients his group tracked.

The ongoing war on the church continues unabated. The most recent casualty: the Church of God in Aylmer, Ont.

Last Friday, Ontario Superior Court Justice Bruce Thomas ordered that new locks be placed on the exterior doors of the Church of God in order to punish this place of worship for allegedly ignoring Wuhan virus gathering rules.

(Oh, please turn a blind eye to the No Frills supermarket just 400 metres away from the church where it’s business as usual. Funny that…)

And not only were the locks on the doors changed, but the church was fined a total of $117,000 — a six-figure sum that the church does not have in its coffers.

But if Justice Thomas thought he was going to intimidate Pastor Henry Hildebrandt into bending the knee, he was proven wrong last Sunday morning. Hundreds flocked to the church on what proved to be a gorgeous spring day. They sat outdoors and listened to Pastor Hildebrandt via loudspeaker; given the ambience, the sermon seemed all the more glorious.

And what a sermon it was. Pastor Hildebrandt alternated between condemnation and comedy when it came to calling out the enemies of the Church of God — all the while welcoming these haters to join the sermon and even have lunch afterwards.

And there are many haters indeed, although their motivation remains somewhat mysterious. Not only is the justice system against the Church of God, but so are the public health officials, police officers, and, of course, the mainstream media.

This is not a rich church — I went there, I visited. I've been to northern Iraq, I've seen bombed out churches. The scale of the poverty of the people Pastor Vern works with, it's comparable.

The church had recently experienced a flood, they were trying to round up donations to deal with that and along comes a very vindictive mayor in Prince Albert, who seems to have a bit of a grudge against Pastor Vern because he ministers to homeless and drug addicted people. The mayor saw his church as a blackhole where criminality happens — as opposed to, it happens to be in a place where people need the church…

We lawyered him [Pastor Vern] up, we got Sarah [Miller] involved. She's worked very, very hard for six, seven, eight months now already, and she was able to have that $14,000 ticket kicked out for Vern Temple and the Full Gospel Outreach Centre — and you know, I couldn't be happier.

Up to 238,000 Canadian businesses could go bankrupt due to lockdowns according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).

First reported by Blacklock’s Reporter, CFIB CEO Dan Kenny told the Senate national finance committee that 58,000 businesses have already closed permanently since the beginning of the pandemic, with around 180,000 near closure.

“One in six businesses we believe are at risk of permanent closure. That’s 180,000 businesses across Canada that will shut their doors forever before the end of this pandemic, and that would take with them 2.4 million private sector jobs,” he said.

“The economic ramifications are very real. These are going to be long-lasting.”

Kelly warned that the past year has left many small businesses on the edge of closure.

In February, the CFIB estimated that small businesses took on an additional $135.1 billion in new debt since the beginning of the pandemic, with the average debt per business now nearing $170,000.

In particular, Kelly blasted Ontario for its policy of constant lockdowns which have been disastrous for businesses. A recent survey of businesses by CFIB found that only 42% of Ontarian businesses are currently open.

“Ontario has been the jurisdiction most likely to use lockdowns, more than any jurisdiction in North America, and one of the longest set of lockdowns in the world if you can believe it,” he said.

“I have tons of members in the Toronto area that have been locked down for 350 days since the lockdowns started. Ontario also seems to be the only province that uses lockdowns as a semi-permanent policy.”

A recent survey by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce found that 51% of business owners are worried they cannot remain open if the business environment remains unchanged.

Seven scientists at top virus lab in Canada collaborated with China

At least seven scientists working at a federal microbiology lab studying highly infectious diseases have collaborated on research into deadly pathogens with the Chinese military, a Globe and Mail investigation reveals.

The collaborators participated in six different studies alongside the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) Academy of Military Medical Sciences which were published between 2016 and 2020.

All seven of the scientists were working on deadly pathogens in the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg. Among the diseases studied by the group include Ebola, Rift Valley fever and Lassa fever.

One of those researchers Feihu Yan was mentioned as a co-author to all six of the studies including two studies where he was listed as having affiliations with the PLA academy.

Two other scientists Xiangguo Qiu and Kending Cheng were dismissed from the laboratory in January on the recommendation of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), which viewed the two’s involvement at the federal lab as a national-security issue.

According to the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI), the PLA Academy of Military Medical Sciences is a “very high risk” for being “leveraged by the People’s Liberation Army or security agencies for surveillance, human-rights abuses or military purposes.”

The Public Health Agency of Canada has since stated that there have been no “new collaborations” with China since 2019.

“In scientific collaborations, when a principal investigator leaves an organization, it is normal that collaborations centred around that research wind down. In this instance, the principal investigator was Dr. Qiu,” the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) told the Globe and Mail.

In March 2019, it was revealed that the federal lab had transported Henipah and Ebolah viruses to the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. Despite this, PHAC claims that the transfer of infectious diseases to China was not the reason behind Qiu and Cheng’s dismissal.

Former CSIS assistant director of operations Andy Ellis told the Globe and Mail that the government had shown “incredible naiveté” in their handling of the situation.

“It is ill-advised. It is the top lab in Canada. It is just incredible naiveté on their part,” said Ellis.

“We won’t let a Canadian in unless we have done a deep background check, but we let [someone] in that we don’t know anything about. It doesn’t make sense.”

Eight Durham region libraries host drag queen story time tour

The group Toronto Drag Queen Storytime will be hosting live virtual events at every public library in Ontario’s Durham Region between May and July 2021.

According to the group’s Facebook page, the event “brings Drag Queens in full costume and makeup together with local children and families to share in an hour of storytelling, dress-up, and fun” with the intention of promoting “literacy and freedom of expression.”

The first event is scheduled for May 26th at Ajax Library between 1-2 p.m. ET. Other events are planned at Scugog Library, Oshawa Library, Whitby Library, Clarington Library, Pickering Library, Brock Library and Uxbridge Library.

Toronto drag performers Lucy Flawless and Lucinda Miu will be featured at the events which are being hosted in association with Youth Pride Durham, the Durham Children’s Aid Society and the public libraries in question.

In 2019, the Canadian news outlet LifeSiteNews and the pro-life group Personhood Alliance launched a petition calling for the American Library Association to end drag queen storytimes at its branches. The petition received over 100,000 signatures at the time.

As first reported by True North, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) will also be hosting its own all-ages “drag storytime” as part of it’s 16th Annual Rainbow Youth Forum. The forum will also include an event on “decolonizing gender.”

“The 16th Annual Rainbow Youth Forum (RYF) will include Decolonizing Gender, Drag Storytime, Workshops for Students and Staff, Chill Zone and a Rainbow Spring Fling Dance! This interactive virtual event will allow participants to ask questions and share their thoughts,” reads the event description.

“The RYF encourages safe and inclusive school environments by providing an opportunity to enhance knowledge and awareness about equity and diversity issues. The RYF aims to help build knowledge and understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression, as well as homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia.”

UK scientists admit to using ‘ethically questionable’ fear tactics in COVID response

May 20, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A scientific advisory committee in Britain has expressed “regret” in a newly released book which outlines the group’s use of “dystopian” fear tactics to influence public behavior following the outbreak of COVID-19.

The Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Behavior, or SPI-B for short, is a sub-committee of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) that advised SAGE on the role of psychology in nudging the British public into complying with government lockdown measures. SAGE, in turn, advises government ministers, wresting far-reaching influence on public policy.

On the back of SPI-B advice, SAGE issued guidance to the U.K. government, as they locked down the country last March, advising that they would need to couple their actions with a targeted fear campaign to ramp up the “perceived level of personal threat” from the virus. This would help the government to control “a substantial number of people” who were thought to “not feel sufficiently personally threatened,” according to SPI-B.

Journalist and author Laura Dodsworth, in her latest publication A State of Fear, documents “how the U.K. government weaponised fear during the COVID-19 pandemic.” The book features the testimony of SPI-B members who admit that the tactics used by the group were tantamount to “totalitarianism.”

“Fear is the most powerful emotion,” Dodsworth’s website states. “Hardwired into humans, fear is … one of the most powerful tools in the behavioural psychology toolbox and it has been used to manipulate and control people during the pandemic.”

An unnamed SPI-B member explained to Dodsworth that “[i]n March [2020] the Government was very worried about compliance, and they thought people wouldn’t want to be locked down. There were discussions about fear being needed to encourage compliance, and decisions were made about how to ramp up the fear.”

“The use of fear has definitely been ethically questionable,” the source continued. “It’s been like a weird experiment. Ultimately, it backfired because people became too scared. The way we have used fear is dystopian.”

SPI-B psychologist Gavin Morgan told Dodsworth that “using fear as a means of control is not ethical. Using fear smacks of totalitarianism. It’s not an ethical stance for any modern government.” Morgan related that, in spite of his normally optimistic outlook on life, seeing the government implement fear tactics to control the population “has given me a more pessimistic view of people.”

During his more than two days in prison, Pastor Artur slept on cold concrete without a blanket, all because he insisted on worshiping God freely with other members of his church.

In viral videos shared last month, Pastor Artur stopped authorities from inspecting his church during two unannounced visits, calling them “Gestapo Nazis” for attempting to enforce their draconian rules without even a warrant. He and his brother were then arrested on Saturday along the highway, having been followed by the Calgary Police Service from another prayer event at the Cave of Adullam church.

The Calgary-based pastor is set to appear in court next Thursday, May 20 after being arrested for defying COVID-19 health rules in Alberta. He contends that police violated Section 176 of the Criminal Code of Canada by intervening in a church service and for arresting the “officiant” on his way home from a service. After this case is decided, Pastor Artur is planning to take on the politicians who orchestrated these attack on religious freedom to court as well.

May 20, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – The pro-abortion World Health Organization (WHO) has released a report calling for greater authority for itself in countries around the globe, a global surveillance system, as well as billions more dollars in financing for itself.

In a report released this month entitled, COVID-19: Make it the Last Pandemic, a group called the "Independent Panel" established by the WHO, analyzed the global response to the Wuhan Virus and delivered a strong message for international changes.

They state, "Our message is loud and clear: no more pandemics. If we fail to take this goal seriously, we will condemn the world to successive catastrophes."

"On the basis of its diagnosis of what went wrong at each stage of the COVID-19 response, the Panel makes […] seven recommendations directed to ensuring that a future outbreak does not become a pandemic. Each recommendation is linked directly back to evidence of what has gone wrong. To be successful they must be implemented in their entirety."

The panel is co-chaired Rt Hon. Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former President of Liberia and Nobel Laureate and includes eleven other professionals from around the world.

VILNIUS, Lithuania, May 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — In order to protest anti-family legislation, tens of thousands took to the streets of Lithuania to defend traditional family values on May 15.

While Lithuania is a traditionally Catholic country, the current parliament has been pushing the LGBT agenda. Recently, the parliament drafted legislation allowing civil unions for same-sex couples.

According to a 2019 Eurobarometer survey, 70 percent of Lithuanians oppose the legal recognition of same-sex unions. In response to the draft legislation, Lithuanian citizens organized “The Great Family Defense March,” the first largescale protest in many years.

On the morning of May 15, thousands of citizens traveled to the capital city, Vilnius. The car line-up of people driving from country homes to the city was several miles long. They gathered in Vingis Park, many carrying the Lithuanian flag and coat of arms.

A Lithuanian source told LifeSite that the march aimed to stop the legislation process of the Istanbul Convention, “which is advertised as a means of protecting women from violence when in reality it validates the concept of gender [ideology].” They also hoped to stop parliament from legalizing same-sex “marriage.”

“We hope that this march will not be forgotten and that its goals will continue to motivate people to take action,” the source continued. “This could be a great chance for smaller existing conservative parties to grow their influence and fight for the truth.”

The Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda spoke to the protesters via video recording.

He promised to do his best to uphold traditional marriage between one man and one woman. “Marriage is constituted by the free consent of a man and a woman,” he stated. “As president, I will use my powers for this to be realized.”

At the march, protesters were blessed by the chaplain of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

Father Robertas Grigas, who was part of an anti-Soviet resistance group before the fall of the Iron Curtain, told the people, “We are waiting for and demanding that our elected government would represent not the interests of small exotic groups, but the problems that are important to the whole nation.”

The main organizer of the event, Raimondas Grinevičius, asked, “[What] has Lithuania come to that on The International Day of Families, when we should be celebrating, dancing and singing, we must all come here to defend our families from a total, without using strong language, misunderstanding?”

British Columbia, Canada: Shaun Muldoon wrote on Facebook that he took the AtraZeneca vaccine and began getting stomach pains, and after 17 days he went to the hospital emergency room. He had over six feet of his smaller intestine removed. He had another surgery two days later to have more if it removed. Mulldoon reported his symptoms, but was advised to stay home multiple times by doctors. Muldoon and his wife said that doctors did mention blood clots as a rare side effect, but failed to accurately represent the risk of serious side effects. The Norwegian Institute of Health recommended that the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccine be banned earlier month, following numerous reports of dangerous side effects such as blood clots.

A husband and father in British Columbia, Canada has lost over half of his small intestine to a blood clot induced by a dose of the AstraZeneca COVID vaccine, and has issued an urgent warning to other vaccine recipients after being told by doctors he had almost died.

“I really wish they had let us know what ‘worse case scenario’ might look like…,” Shaun Mulldoon posted on Facebook. “If you, or if any of your friends or family ‘have received AstraZeneca vaccine…. I had stomach pains 10 days later (Monday) They continued for 5 more days. Spoke to my family doctor twice, on Monday, and again 4 days later on Friday. Had a negative covid test Wednesday 17 days after my vaccine ended up going into emergency surgery to remove over 6 feet of my small intestine. I had a massive blood clot.”

“Second surgery two days later to [remove] more,” Mulldoon’s post continued. “My surgeon told me it was very close If you get [Astra] and do [not] feel 100%, get yourself to emergency immediately!!! Still in hospital a week later.”

“This is life changing for us,” Mulldoon’s wife Tara said. “I feel like we have a long road ahead of us as far as his recovery goes. He’s lost half of his small intestine.” According to CBC, Mulldoon was vaccinated on April 22 and suffered symptoms that progressed from nausea to headache, vomiting, and fever. Mulldoon reported his symptoms, but was advised to stay home multiple times by doctors. The symptoms progressed to passing and vomiting blood on May 8, and Mulldoon was in emergency surgery a day later.

Protesters have been gathering at Queen's Park in Toronto in front of the legislature for well over a year, and the protest on Saturday, May 15, was the largest showing since the demonstrations began in 2020.

Thousands, maybe even as many as 50,000, took to the park and streets to rally against the continuing lockdowns in Ontario. Neither the demonstrators, nor the residents in Toronto seem to be adhering to the recently-extended 'Stay-at-Home' order issued by Premier Doug Ford, as protesters gathered over the weekend for all types of events.

Whether it was pro-Palestine, pro-Israel or anti-lockdown demonstrations, no tickets appeared to be given in Toronto over the weekend for violating the government order. Simply looking around, the average person wasn't adhering to the 'rules' either.

On May 16, 2021 Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (when talking about Israel/Palestine protests) mentioned that all have the right to protest; something that provincial orders have contradicted for many months:

However, Canadian politicians have recently been chiming in on pro-freedom demonstrations, with Calgary's Mayor Nenshi claiming they are “thinly veiled” in “white supremacy.”

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh also believes this is part of “extreme right-wing ideology,” connecting such viewpoints due to protesters "brazenly not follow[ing] public-health guidelines,” as he recently told reporters.

The overwhelming response from protesters was that this is likely an attempt to divide while diminishing the true meaning behind the protest.

None of the demonstrators interviewed mentioned they had ever heard any race-related discussions at the events, nor did they believe that to be the thesis of anyone or anything they experienced since attending the get-togethers.

The Prince Albert, Saskatchewan church received the fine after a 100 day revival where they drew the ire of the mayor and a local First Nations Chief.

The church was blamed for a COVID-19 outbreak and called a superspreader event responsible for cases across several jurisdictions.

But, the outbreak may have actually spread to the church from the local casino. The church was fined and ordered closed for 30 days; however, the casino was not.

Closing the church cut the marginalized people Pastor Vern Temple works with everyday off from their only lifeline.

Temple feeds, houses, clothes and helps the homeless in PA get clean. He cares for them, and the church puts most of their resources to that ministry. He’s saving lives and reminding the forgotten people of PA that God loves them.

That fine, the largest COVID fine in the country at the time it was issued in October, would put an end to much of the work Temple does. Rebel News went to Prince Albert to visit the church in the impoverished skid row of the city, where crime and drug addiction are rampant, to offer the church some help.

There's been some friction between the mayor, Greg Dionne, and this church in the past with Temple telling me that the city wants to take his building and demolish it to use the lot for something else.

The mayor may have been able to push authorities into fining the church but a wise prosecutor was not willing to make the case that confiscating five figures in cash from a poverty church, helping the vulnerable in a derelict area of town would be in the public interest.

Pediatric organizations urge Ontario to re-open schools citing “mental health crisis”

A dozen pediatric organizations including SickKids are urging the Ontario government to make reopening schools a priority, citing a “crisis in children’s mental health” as a result of COVID-19 pandemic closures.

“The impact of school closures and the resulting social isolation on the health and well-being of children and youth has become impossible to ignore. Getting Ontario’s students back into the classroom, with appropriate safety measures in place, for the remainder of this school year and for summer learning must be a priority now,” claimed the letter.

“We are witnessing a crisis in children’s mental health with a dramatic increase in the utilization of acute mental health services. Schools play an essential role in the recovery process. In-person school provides students with routine and structure, accountability, socialization and recognition of abuse and neglect.”

Other signatories to the open letter include the Canadian Pediatric Society, the Pediatricians Alliance of Ontario, Ottawa Community Pediatrician Network, Children First Canada, McMaster Children’s Hospital, the Coalition for Kids and several other similar groups.

According to the letter, the signatories have three requests: for schools to reopen “immediately”, for summer school learning to take place in-person and for schools to resume regular scheduling in September.

“With the decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations in Ontario by over 50%, and with more than 50% of adults at least partially vaccinated, the decision to re-open schools at this time will have minimal, if any, impact on the health care system,” reads the open letter.

Recently, the Ontario government announced that it would continue forcing kids to learn virtually until a “consensus” is reached with teachers unions and public health advisors.

“On the one hand, we have some doctors saying they want to open the schools. On the other hand, we have the teachers’ unions saying we can’t do that right now,” Ontario Premier Doug Ford said earlier this week.

“We need public health doctors, teachers and labour partners to agree on the best path forward … And we simply don’t have that right now.”

This is not the first time that children’s health specialists have raised the alarm about the growing mental health crisis faced by the province’s youth.

In April, the Ottawa Community Pediatricians Network warned that the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns were causing more and more children to report serious mental health issues.

Vice President of Design at the LEGO Group Matthew Ashton wrote a lengthy statement about why he designed the play set, saying that there needs to be more LGBTQ representation for children.

“Being quite an effeminate kid, I was constantly told by different adults around me what I should and shouldn’t play with, that I needed to behave like a ‘real boy’ and to toughen up. I was dissuaded from doing the things that came most naturally to me. I think many of the adults around me were doing all of this to try to protect me from getting bullied, but I was actually fine with all the kids at school. All of that has had an impact on me in many ways; it was really exhausting and kicked my confidence,” he wrote.

“So, I think by taking small steps and having products like “Everyone is Awesome” out there and people representing the LGBTQIA+ community, it allows everybody to see that things do get better over time and there is a place for everybody. That’s what’s been so important to me in getting this set out with a message that we can be really proud of.”

Ashton explained that they added black and brown to represent those races, purple for drag queens, as well as the trans flag colors.

“We’ve made sure to include black and brown colors to represent the broad diversity of everyone within the LGBTQIA+ community. We’ve also added in the pale blue, white and pink to support and embrace the trans community as well. I purposely put the purple drag queen in as a clear nod to the fabulous side of the LGBTQIA+ community. I hope it’s a joy to build and a joy to look at, and hopefully it will bring a lot of joy to people’s lives,” Ashton wrote.

The only reason Thunberg would be covering such a topic is that the finger-shaped iceberg is approximately 1,668 square miles in size and has been declared as the world's largest iceberg. This would allow her to amplify her climate change fight and press her Twitter following and politicians alike that action is needed to be taken now.

Named A-76, the iceberg broke off the Ronne ice shelf into the Weddell Sea earlier this week, according to the European Space Agency.

However, Alex Brisbourne, a glaciologist at the British Antarctic Survey, who New Scientist quoted, said the area where A-76 broke away from Antarctica's Ronne ice shelf "is not an area that is undergoing any significant change because of global heating. The main message is it's part of a natural cycle."

In fact, as Bloomberg tells it, Gates' initial interest in philanthropy was part of an attempt to white wash his image after some pretty aggressive behavior in the 1980s, including stabbing his co-founder in the back while he was undergoing cancer treatment.

It’s easy to forget that Bill Gates wasn’t always so publicly revered. During the heyday of the PC revolution, he was the ruthless nerd-turned-tycoon who brutally and profanely berated underlings and allegedly tried to slash Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen’s equity in the company while he was undergoing cancer treatment in the early 1980s. (Gates has said his recollection of events differed from Allen’s.) Windows software, his flagship creation, was a buggy mess that frustrated millions of consumers, and Steve Jobs groused that Gates and his team showed “no shame” and “no taste” in ripping off Apple’s products. Even the judge who oversaw Microsoft’s crippling turn-of-the-century monopoly trial said Gates had “a Napoleonic concept of himself and his company, an arrogance that derives from power and unalloyed success."

By the 2000s, though, the world’s richest man seemed to have realized he had to change this Redmond-robber-baron narrative—and that his wealth could help. He stepped down as Microsoft’s CEO and shifted his attention to what would become the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which eventually gave away more than $50 billion to fight malaria and AIDS and boost childhood vaccination rates, earning the couple widespread praise, not to mention Time’s 2005 “Persons of the Year” cover with U2’s Bono. Less than a decade after Microsoft’s antitrust trial, Gates was making the rounds on Capitol Hill advising lawmakers on U.S. technology competitiveness and health initiatives.

"I was lucky enough in my Microsoft work to accumulate an ownership that was worth a lot of money," he told Charlie Rose in 2008, shortly after switching to full-time focus on his giving pledges. "Warren [Buffett] likes to call that 'claim checks' on society, where you get to say, you know, have a thousand people go build a pyramid for you or do whatever you want."

Pretty soon, Gates image morphed from "technocrat" to "savior". Before long, the media was gobbling up his seasonal reading lists, and President Barack Obama was awarding him the presidential medal of freedom, America's highest civilian honor.

The dogs' ability to detect the virus was clocked at 97% sensitivity, a level that puts this method on par with the most reliable rapid antigen tests. The sniffing method was also found to be 91% specific - a technical measure of the dogs' ability to correctly identify negative samples. This 'sensitivity rating' is higher than that of many 15-minute antigen tests, which tend to be better at ruling out infection than at finding it.

And with Europe reopening its economy to vaccinated tourists on Wednesday, these study results couldn't have come at a better time. As Bloomberg points out, virus-sniffing dogs could be widely deployed in airports, train stations or anywhere crowds amass to screen people, much like they’re used for detecting drugs or bombs. Using dogs also means COVID could be identified at just a fraction of a second in a non-invasive manner, and in an extremely inexpensive manner (in theory, it wouldn't cost all that much to train the dogs, and the methods would be simple to those used to train drug and bomb-sniffing dogs).

The trial was carried out at France's National Veterinary School, according to Bloomberg, which shared some more details about the trial.

The trial, which was conducted at France’s National Veterinary School in Maisons Alfort near Paris, collected sweat samples from the armpits of the participants with cotton pads that were locked into jars and gave them to at least two different dogs for sniffing. None of the dogs had prior contact with the volunteers. There were 335 people tested, of which 109 were positive in a PCR test that served as a control. Nine dogs participated, and the researchers didn’t know which samples were positive.

In July, German researchers showed trained dogs were able to distinguish between saliva sampled from people infected with the virus and those who were not more than 90% of the time. Finland, Dubai and Switzerland have started training dogs to sniff out infections.

The latest study was conducted between March 16 and April 9, and the Ile-de-France region helped fund the trial, contributing 25,000 euros ($30,500).

Efforts to train dogs to sniff out COVID are underway across Europe, and the world. In the UK, a team from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine are training six dogs in the hope that they will be able to detect COVID-positive people, even if they have no symptoms. In Finland, sniffer dogs have been working to detect infected travelers at Helsinki Airport since September.

Case in point, Twitter account "YoungBreezy" has printed a working 3D-printed gun that looks exactly like a Nerf gun. The weapon has a similar color scheme and even the Nerf logo printed on the side.

YoungBreezy appears to have taken the 3D-printed weapon to a range where he ran through an entire clip without the gun failing.

He said, "What it looked like before. Muzzle thing (not a suppressor) and brace broke off. Had a couple of failures to extract, and towards the end, the trigger wasn't resetting reliably. Other than that, the test went well. Bolt didn't break this time, and it was pretty consistent."

The gun appears to be the FGC-9, which stands for "f**k gun control 9 mm." As we've noted, the FGC-9 can be printed entirely at home for the cost of $350, including the printer's cost. During the print, YoungBreezy used plastic filament to mimic Nerf gun colors and added the Nerf logo on the side of the weapon.

“According to this estimate, it is possible to estimate the number of deaths in Israel in proximity of the vaccine, as of today, at about 1000-1100 people.”

If this is a genuine statistical analysis, then numbers reported by health authorities of Israel are misleading to a very great extent.

“There is a high correlation between the number of people vaccinated per day and the number of deaths per day, in the range of up to 10 days, in all age groups.”

The IPC also reveals that the “the risk of mortality after the second vaccine is higher than the risk of mortality after the first vaccine.”

This is not only about the death risk, as per the reports of IPC, “as of the date of publication of the report, 2066 reports of side effects have accumulated in the Civil Investigation Committee and the data continue to come in.

These reports indicate damage to almost every system in the human body. Our analysis found a relatively high rate of heart-related injuries.

26% of all cardiac events occurred in young people up to the age of 40, with the most common diagnosis in these cases being Myositis or Pericarditis.

Also, a high rate of massive vaginal bleeding, neurological damage, and damage to the skeletal and skin systems has been observed.

DELTA, British Columbia, May 19, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A hospice society in British Columbia that refused to allow euthanasia at its palliative care facility since the practice became legal in Canada was evicted from its location of 35 years by health officials.

LifeSiteNews confirmed with the Delta Hospice Society (DHS) president that the society was evicted from its two leased buildings after the Fraser Health Authority cancelled a 35-year land lease. March 29 was the last day DHS was on site.

“In January, Fraser Health came into the hospice with no notification, and started giving out eviction notices to the dying people in their beds, telling them they were going to move,” said Angelina Ireland, president of the DHS, to LifeSiteNews.

“We were made aware of this from the nurses, and then some unhappy families went to the media … we had a lot of negative press and responses blamed unfairly on us that we had caused the evictions, which was not the case. We would never have done such a thing.”

In 2016, the Canadian government legalized euthanasia, or the lethal injection of sick patients, and since that time DHS had been under attack by both the B.C. government as well as euthanasia activists because it refused to allow the practice at its palliative care hospice.

According to the DHS, it has refused to “participate in euthanizing its patients, known as Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD), because it is committed to Palliative Care which does not hasten death.”

“We believe in the compassionate care and support for persons in the last stages of living, so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. This position is consistent with international hospice palliative care associations and the World Health Organization,” said DHS in a recent email.

Ireland told LifeSiteNews that both its Irene Thomas Hospice and the Supportive Care Centre were taken by the Fraser Health Authority. DHS was given no compensation for its assets, which Ireland says has an estimated value of $9 million.

Early in 2020, DHS was given a one-year notice of the cancellation of the contact service agreement with the Fraser Health Authority.

McCullough highlights the “Surgisphere scandal” in which The Lancet published a fake paper by a sketchy U.S. company called Surgisphere that falsely implied hydroxychloroquine could harm people hospitalized with COVID.

The Lancet issued a retraction, saying only that it couldn’t verify the data, but it didn’t apologize or explain how the paper was published, or the influence it may have had globally on the early treatment of COVID, McCullough said.

Taiwanese Citizen Sentenced for Illegal Exports of Military and Dual-Use Items to Iran

In May 2021, a jury in the Western District of Texas convicted him of one count of conspiracy to violate the Iranian Transaction Regulations, one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, one count of conspiracy to defraud the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and two counts of aiding and abetting the making of false statements. He will be sentenced in September 2021. Another co-defendant, Mehrdad Foomani, remains at large.

She used her companies in Taiwan (Hivocal Technology Company Ltd., Enrich Ever Technologies Co. Ltd., and Kuang-Su Corporation) and in Hong Kong (Infinity Wise Technology, Well Smart (HK) Technology, Pinky Trading Co. Ltd., and Wise Smart (HK) Electronics Limited) to procure and attempt to procure goods from the United States. In some cases, the goods were transshipped via Ansari's UAE-based Gulf Gate Sea Cargo L.L.C.

“Youth aged 16 and 17 can complete and sign their own consent form.”

Hold up, those are still minors. They're not supposed to be making medical decisions. But I guess all things considered, at least they're older. Look at this.

“Youth aged 12 to 15 can have a parent, guardian, caregiver sign the consent form for them.”

Well, I should hope that sixth graders aren't signing medical consent forms.

But this next sentence is crazy.

“Youth aged 12 to 15 can also attend their appointment without a signed form and will go through the informed consent process with an on-site clinical lead to assess their ability to consent on their own.”

No, you absolute weirdos. They can't consent on their own. They're 12 to 15. They can't consent to medical treatment. They’re little kids.

And for good measure, the letter says that “parents are welcome to accompany their children to their vaccine appointment but it is not required. A vaccine can still be provided even if a person of any age arrives without identification.”

So in Manitoba, your sixth grader is adult enough to decide to participate in medical procedures.

The Government of Canada is fond of hiring a polling company with close ties to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The information was revealed through an order paper question in the House of Commons from Conservative MP Karen Vecchio, who represents the Ontario riding of Elgin—Middlesex—London, that asked how many times since January 1, 2016 the government had hired the polling firm Abacus Data.

Abacus Data is owned by longtime Ottawa insider and pollster Bruce Anderson. Anderson's daughter, Kate Purchase, was at one time the director of communications for the prime minister's office under Justin Trudeau. Purchase served as a close advisor to Trudeau for more than six years before departing for a job at Microsoft.

Since January 1, 2016, Anderson's Abacus Data has been awarded nearly $700,000 in polling fees from various federal departments, oftentimes as a sole-sourced contract.

One sole-sourced contract, funded through the Canadian Race Relations Foundation and costing $10,170, surveyed 2,000 respondents about their experiences with online hate-related topics. That survey, conducted in early mid-January 2021, found that 60 per cent of Canadians questioned were in favour of the federal government increasing its efforts to censor “hateful and racist behaviour” online. In November 2020, Prime Minister Trudeau's government tabled Bill C-10, a bill that takes aim at regulating and censoring content posted on the internet.

Other federal agencies that hired Abacus included: Farm Credit Canada, the Department of National Defence, the Bank of Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint, Invest in Canada, Export Development Canada and the Privy Council Office.

The largest expenditure, costing $276,172, was a government-wide subscription to The Canadian Millennial Report, a bi-annual study of Canadians born between 1981–1996. That sole-sourced contract began late in 2017 and has been renewed in two-year intervals. The current contract, signed on December 24, 2020, is set to conclude at the end of March 2022.

Things took an ugly turn when the Palestinian side threw rocks, and in this confusion Mocha was punched by a supporter from the Israeli side.

On a recent Rebel News DAILY Livestream, hosts Sheila Gunn Reid and David Menzies discussed how this sort of behaviour is unacceptable. The protesters and some supporters online then lied about the interaction, claiming he had a knife (he did not), that he was waving a Palestinian flag (he was not).

As Sheila said, Rebel will use all legal means to make sure this kind of thing does not happen to our reporters.

Islamists behead four Christians in rural Indonesia

Four Christians were beheaded in a horrific attack by Islamist insurgents in Indonesia last week, according to the Christian NGO Open Doors.

The attack occurred May 11 in Kalimago Village on the island of Sulawesi, with a group of insurgents launching two separate raids on local farms.

Local authorities say the attack was committed by East Indonesia Mujahideen, a Sulawesi-based terrorist group aligned with ISIS.

The attack is the second of its kind on the island in recent months. In November, four Christians were murdered at a nearby Salvation Army outpost in Sigi. One of the victims was beheaded.

A local representative of Open Doors Ari Hartono suggests the insurgents were targeting local Christian farmers for supplies, adding that law enforcement has become more active in the area.

“Central Sulawesi locals are still traumatized from the terrorist attack in Sigi last November and have not recovered yet,” he said.

“After the Sigi incident, the terrorists in Central Sulawesi have been increasingly pressed by the police and the Army. Their logistics is exhausted. The only way to survive is to rob people of food. In this area, there are many farmers who live in the forest far from the village and they were the ones targeted by the terrorists.”

While the Indonesian government generally respects the rights of its Christian minority, the country regularly suffers terrorist attacks from various groups, some of which are aligned with ISIS.

On Palm Sunday, 20 Christians were injured by two suicide bombers outside of a church in the city of Makassar in Southern Sulawesi.

Soldier charged for giving cannabis cupcakes to artillery unit

A soldier has been charged for allegedly giving cannabis-laced cupcakes to an artillery unit during a live-fire exercise.

Bombardier Chelsea Cogswell is facing 18 charges in a court martial related to the 2018 incident at CFB Gagetown in New Brunswick.

First reported by CTV, Cogswell is accused of giving members of the “W Battery” artillery unit cannabis cupcakes she baked herself. The unit was not aware of the cannabis and did not consent to consuming it.

The unit was engaged in a live-fire exercise at the time, and their intoxication put both themselves and others in danger.

“Several affected members were allegedly unable to properly execute safe weapons and explosive handling drills,” according to records from the military court.

“All the members of W Battery who consumed the cupcakes, except one, allegedly experienced symptoms which included dehydration, overheating, fatigue, confusion, dry mouth and paranoia.”

Cogswell was working the canteen during the exercise. She has served with the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) since 2011 and remains a member.

Spokeswomen Wendy Wharton told CTV that such allegations have never been made against a CAF member before.

“A review of our court martial records indicate that this is the first time a member has faced a court martial for allegedly administering cannabis to colleagues without their consent,” she said.

Among the charges include nine counts of conduct to the prejudice of good order and discipline, eight counts of administering a noxious substance, and one count of behaving in a disgraceful manner.

May 21, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian doctor and author of a declaration opposing attempts by the Canadian medical establishment to prohibit doctors from questioning the mainstream COVID-19 narrative says the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is “dismantling the ethics put in place after the Second World War with the Nuremberg Code.”

“I was taught in medical school that the bedrock of the Nuremberg Code is a free and fully formed consent [for all patients]. To only promote the public health measures is a denial of the rights of those patients,” Dr. Patrick Phillips, who works as an emergency room physician in Englehart, Ontario, told LifeSiteNews.

Phillips, along with other Canadian physicians, helped author and then publish the declaration “For science and truth,” which came in response to a recent statement from the CPSO saying that doctors must not speak their mind if that would contradict the “official” government response to COVID-19.

The CPSO statement is directed against doctors who take to social media to speak their minds freely in opposition to COVID-19 lockdowns, and states that doctors who go against public health measures and vaccines, or promote “unproven treatments for COVID-19,” will be investigated.

The group of physicians countered that at its core, the primary obligation of a doctor is not to the “CPSO or any other authority,” but to patients.

Phillips noted that the “science and truth” declaration is all about informed consent and patient rights. “It’s a group of physicians from across the county, we are all signatories of the document itself, there is no particular author, but when we saw that statement from the college, we were shocked about how restrictive and anti-science it was.”
