Part 1 of 2
Maricopa County is the fourth largest county in the United States, with approximately 4.3 million people, 60% of Arizona’s population.
No more hour-long lines on Election Day.
Stephen Richer, Maricopa County Recorder candidate
Following the November 2018 election, the Arizona Republican Party asked Stephen Richer to conduct an independent review of the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office. Stephen did it. And he did it at no cost to the Party (report here).

Stephen is a lawyer at one of Arizona’s oldest large law firms. He lives in downtown Phoenix, where he and his fiancee (who is also a lawyer) spend their free time hiking (Flatiron is a favorite, and they prefer the Cholla side to Camelback), attending Diamondbacks and Suns games, shopping at Costco (43rd st. and Oak), and playing in sports leagues (e.g. Papago Park softball).
Previously, Stephen worked for the American Enterprise Institute and the Cato Institute. This exposed him to some of the top conservative and libertarian thinkers in the world. Stephen holds three degrees, including a law degree from The University of Chicago Law School, and he won a number of awards while in school including USA Today All-Academic Team, Phi Beta Kappa, and National Merit Scholar Finalist.
Arizonans should be able to see and understand the voting process.
Stephen Richer – Maricopa County Recorder candidate
Stephen is committed to public service and public life and this commitment is well-documented. Appointed by Governor Doug Ducey to serve on the board of the Arizona Humanities Stephan is also a former Arizona Industry Fellow with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is on the board of the Federalist Society’s Phoenix Lawyers Chapter. Stephen received The Volunteer Service Award, Gold Class, from President George W. Bush for the work he did helping restore the Gulf South following the destruction of Hurricane Katrina.
