Speculation on McAfee's $WHACKD crypto + dead man's switch filesharing reminds me of a recent sci-fi short story, whose name I forget, unfortunately.
Plot revolves around a hacker who acquires radically enhanced IQ. He uses the enhancement to go on exotic digital adventures, as he infiltrates and conquers cyber realms.
Until one day he suffers unexpected, brutal stock market losses. Shocked, he checks his reports and sees that first letters of each failing company, together, spell out his name.
He is being summoned. By the one other who is likewise enhanced.
There can be only one, you know.
So he prepares for the inevitable mental battle, with much ingenuity and fear. What could he have overlooked?
