The latest Rick and Morty episode includes the idea that the Electoral College is/was meant to preserve slavery. I've never heard anything like this before, and am curious what basis there is for such a statement.

Modern mature cartoons are bellwethers to me, a way to watch what the normies are consuming… and, if you go back, a good way to follow predictive programming. Without "celebrates", they have to make the messages very obvious (Simpson's "purple phase" is a good example).
