The context is that they could show a good example of godliness to their masters,

both to convince them of Christianity and to alleviate their condition of slavery.

Been restocking and plugging holes in my supplies for the last couple of months.

It never feels as if it's enough,

but I've done what I could at the present.

Tried to get extra also anticipating sharing with other family members when they run short

(thinking about grandkids),

or perhaps for bartering.
