Hedonists are villified and demanded to reject pleasure for the good of the whole, or to convince themselves that misery is pleasure to be deemed worthy in the eyes of the whole.

The unbrella of decency is a pretty flexible way to oppress anything one doesn't personally like. I thought love meant tolerance?

I find mask orders indecent. I find injecting children with experimental drugs to be indecent. I find the rate of taxation to be indecent, but I dont't have a mafia and a thousands years old church on my payroll.
No, I think killing and eating people is one of the fews things worse than infant genital mutilation which is highly praised by many religious folks who fixate on decency and morality laws.

Nothing in our society goes without regulation, to the profit of the govt, for the "protection of children". If anyone besides an almighty doctor tried to mutilate a child's genetalia they would be rightly imprisoned. Currently any kid old enough to put coins in the machine can buy a caffeinated beverage, but can no longer buy a pack of smokes. The beverage industry currently enjoys a certain freedom from over regulation while buying a minor smokes is a crime. In my state, humans are considered minors until age 21, currently. Increasing that age to 25 or 30, would provide even more opportunity for governmental intrusions into private business. But, as we see, there really is no longer any private business. Every activity of the populace is ruthlessly searched by the powerful for an opportunity to engage law enforcement resources. "That Karen over there isn't wearing a surgical mask. Quick arrest her!"
Trust the gov't, they know what is best for you and your children. Trust the science, it's settled and backed by your spiritual leaders. Don't make waves. Follow the civil authorities. The elect are doing their best for the betterment of all mankind.
I feel the same as you anon. I have prayed for death, or some relief from this horror show we are watching. God has sent messages to me that we are still loved and needed here at this time. I appreciate your prayers for peace and positivity and hope they will be coupled with my own. While the signs all seem very dim, there is much hope in the world for a better tomorrow.
