What is forgiveness?

Does it mean the forgivee doesn't pay for their crime; letting them get by with it?

Scripture says to forgive as our Father forgives.

When we ask Him for forgiveness, He gives it, but does He save of us from the sum of our actions?

No. We must suffer the physical ramifications of what we do, even though He forgives us. It may take awhile, but eventually it catches up.

Forgiveness does not mean letting justice slide.
