There is nothing salvageable about the current US government and its embedded cliques. Can't be cleaned up from the inside. Purpose of Trump's term may have been to show that. His personality forced them to drop the masks, and his hires were meant to expose "trusted" government officials.
That might not be actually the case, but I didn't see anything in the 4 years that would discount it prima facie.
