There are certain areas like immigration where the feds have absolute power. But any power not explicitly given to the feds is reserved to the states or the people. Dept of ___ (over a dozen agencies) is mostly abuse of the 'general welfare ' clause.

>The recount will change which electors are chosen

This. The states pick the electors. How they do so is up to them. But it's a sideshow when "fraud vitiates everything ". The election for president is null and void. As is any other race for office whose results were tampered with.

>Yes so how much good is all this auditing?

>It may show fraud- but the constitution needs to keep the vote with the people.

1) new , untampered elections must occur. 2020 was complete bunk, and while audits can show different results being true, the election cannot simply be reversed. Fraud vitiates everything.

2) The United States is a constitutional Republic, not a democracy. Democracy is what you seem to be conflating it with. Eliminating the electoral college would result in essentially mob rule, which would put us in Communism or dictatorship very quickly. The founders knew this and created our system to avoid such a devolution.

Don't fix what isn't broken.

>But shouldnโ€™t there be something in the constitution stating the electoral college must vote as the majority did? We are not the โ€œsheepโ€ these federalists assumed.

The biggest threat in this regard is the multistate "pact" dems were working on, to essentially award all electors for their states to the national popular vote winner, even if their states voted for the other candidate. I doubt the founders thought election fraud would become so brazen. Some states even do proportional awarding, which I personally think is a different but equivalent end run around the electoral college. Any fix would require a constitutional amendment, and that's not likely any time soon. The best solution is gasp to run free and fair elections, devoid of tampering, fake ballots, dead voters, illegal voters, etc.
