Like the stupid people (of whom I know many) who are told by the doctor that they have cancer and must have a particular organ removed. They have it removed (thyroid, uterus, lung whatever)and then they say oh there wasn't any cancer after all. The patient inevitably says oh I'm glad that I had it removed if there was any question at all about there being cancer.
