Earlier this week, Liberal leader Justin Trudeau was endorsed by former U.S. president Barack Obama and former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

The year 2015 is calling, and it wants its political strategy back.

The mere fact that Team Liberal sought these endorsements — and thought they would help Trudeau’s re-election cause — shows how staggeringly out of touch they are with the world around them.

For starters, recall that Trudeau vainly triggered this unnecessary election on the day that Afghanistan’s capital Kabul fell to the Taliban.

While images flooded our televisions and computer screens of poor Afghan citizens desperately trying to flee, Trudeau shrugged it off and callously made the case for why he deserved more power.

Rather than spending our time, attention and limited resources on rescuing Canadian citizens and our allies, Trudeau chose a $600 million vanity election instead.

A man who once claimed to be a feminist stood silently while the most repressive and anti-woman terrorist network on earth violently took control of a country Canadians died to protect.

It wasn’t a good look for Trudeau, and having Clinton and Obama send their endorsements only reminded Canadians of how hapless he is on the world stage.

As conventional wisdom goes, foreign policy doesn’t tend to impact federal elections in Canada.

But Canadians took notice of the monumental blunder of U.S. President Joe Biden — who seemed caught off guard by the Taliban’s surge, ill-prepared for the fallout, indignant about his responsibility (or lack thereof) and cold-hearted to the fact that dozens of Americans were killed in the process.

The idea that getting an endorsement at this moment from Biden’s partisan ally and career catalyst Barack Obama, seems pretty ill-advised.

Obama is little more than a wealthy American celebrity these days.

Likewise, Clinton’s endorsement came just hours before her campaign lawyer was indicted by a grand jury for lying to the FBI over the Trump-Russia probe, reminding us of the distrust and corruption that prevented Clinton from becoming president.

Why on earth would Trudeau want these endorsements? Because it’s all he has.

This entire campaign has felt like a bad rerun of the out-dated Liberal playbook.

They’ve trotted out the same lines of attack against the Conservatives that we’ve seen for decades — including old favourites like accusing the Tories of wanting to bring in American-style two-tier health care, re-opening the abortion debate and allowing assault weapons back on our streets.

And while an endorsement from Obama may have had some cultural sway the first time around, at this point, aligning with American politicians seems like a liability.

To add insult to injury, while these endorsements were coming in from Trudeau’s elite friends in Washington, the world learned of a new political alliance — one that Canada is noticeably absent from.

Australia, the U.K. and the U.S. announced a formal strategic defence partnership against China. What was once the Five Eyes — these nations, plus Canada and New Zealand — apparently is now down to three.

This is a monumental blow to Canada, proving that, under Trudeau’s watch, we’re no longer even given a seat at the table.

While Trudeau tried to brush it off — misleading reporters by saying this new strategic partnership was only about “purchasing nuclear submarines” — the truth is much more painful.

As retired Vice-Admiral Mark Norman said to the Globe and Mail, Trudeau “doesn’t understand what is going on internationally and he doesn’t understand what the significance of an arrangement like this is as it relates to international security.”

“I don’t think our allies think we are serious when it comes to defence,” said the senior Canadian naval officer.

Our allies are right. Trudeau is not a serious leader. His foreign policy focuses on seeking the endorsement of fading politicians, rather than working to ease the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan or doing the hard work alongside our allies to neutralize the growing threat of China.

Tens of thousands take to the streets in “World Wide Rally For Freedom”

Toronto's rally alone was estimated to contain 15,000 to 20,000 protestors.

On Saturday afternoon, tens of thousands of protestors in cities across the globe took to the streets as part of a coordinated “World Wide Rally For Freedom.”

Rebel News had journalists on the ground in cities across the world to cover the massive protests. Toronto's rally alone was estimated to contain 15,000 to 20,000 protestors.

Each city’s event was held as part of a worldwide effort to “denounce COVID-19-related policies and restrictions on movement and activity.”

Protestors conveyed messages decrying government lockdown restrictions and coerced vaccination. Chants such as "Freedom," "Do Not Comply" and "No Vax Pass" can be heard from the rallying crowds.

In Canada, these protests come just days before a pivotal federal election set for Monday September 20.

Conservative party dumps a Toronto candidate who maintains that she was framed on social media

Conservative party head honchos were pressuring Lisa Robinson the candidate for the Toronto riding of Beaches-East York to resign — or she’d be fired.

When Erin O’Toole was campaigning to become the leader of the Conservative Party some 13 months ago, he endlessly stated that he was the “pro-free speech/anti-cancel culture” guy. Well, try telling that to Lisa Robinson, who, until last week, was the Conservative candidate for the Toronto riding of Beaches-East York.

Here’s the story: on Friday Sept. 10, Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, the incumbent Liberal candidate for Beaches-East York, published a tweet with a number of screenshots that were allegedly snatched from Robinson's social media feed. One of the statements was considered to be Islamophobic. However, Robinson claims she never wrote those comments, and that the account isn’t even hers. In fact, Robinson says this smear campaign against her goes back to 2018, when she was running for municipal office. When the defamatory comments surfaced, Robinson says she reported the incident to police.

So, when these comments resurfaced yet again, Robinson requested that her Liberal rival delete the defamatory accusations and apologize; the Erskine-Smith camp, meanwhile, told Robinson she would have to prove her innocence first.

Alas, time was not on Robinson’s side. She would have to file a freedom of information request in order to obtain the police report, something that would take at least 30 days (and thus, wouldn’t be available until after the election).

But at the end of the day, it would appear that Robinson’s real enemy was not the Liberal camp, but her own party.

In an exclusive interview with Rebel News, Robinson said that when the accusations against surfaced on Friday morning, Conservative party staff told her that they “had her back,” and that the party’s legal team would fight tooth and nail for her. But by Friday evening, the story had changed. Suddenly, party head honchos were pressuring Robinson to resign — or she’d be fired. The party was “gracious” enough to forward her a mental health crisis hotline number, in case she had suicidal thoughts upon being turfed. Now, that’s compassion…

Yet, the question arises: why did the party so radically change its position in less than 24 hours? Apparently, a barrage of phone calls from the mainstream media regarding Robinson caused the Erin O’Toole war room to collapse and wave the white flag of surrender.

Robinson, who still maintains her innocence, was unceremoniously turfed. Cory Hann, communications director for the Conservative party, issued the following statement: “Racism and Islamophobia has no place in the Conservative Party of Canada. Our expectation is that all of our candidates conduct themselves in a respectful, tolerant manner. Consequently, we have terminated this individual as a candidate."

To add insult to injury, Robinson’s Liberal opponent, Erskine-Smith, tweeted the following: "Our community has faced down hate too many times already, and it's unacceptable that the Conservative Party is giving a platform to someone with these views.”

And yet, Robinson asks, whatever happened to the concept of innocent until proven guilty?

As well, she points out that she was fully vetted by the party – including her social media history – before being named the Conservative candidate for Beaches-East York. In other words, the party would’ve likely known about this controversy from when it first erupted in 2018.

As well, Robinson laments that while she would like to proceed with a defamation lawsuit, as a single mom, she does not have the financial resources to pursue such an initiative.

Bottom line: that the Liberal party would embrace a smear campaign and dirty politics against a Conservative candidate is hardly newsworthy. But for Erin (“pro-free speech/anti-cancel culture”) O’Toole to bend the knee so quickly, due to persistent queries from the mean girls of the Media Party is shocking. So, the question arises: does this man who would be Prime Minister stand for… anything?

Six Nations PPC candidate Cole Squire talks comparing vax passports with residential schools

Cole Squire, the PPC candidate for Brantford-Brant, talks about comparing vaccine passports to residential schools after fellow PPC candidate Renate Siekmann (Vancouver Quadra) was attacked for doing just that.

Renate Siekmann, the People's Party of Canada candidate for the riding of Vancouver Quadra, recently distributed a pamphlet that sent members of the media (and the usual suspects) into such a feeding frenzy it would make a school of tiger sharks blush.

The pamphlet features photos of indigenous children in front of residential schools. The copy reads: “Discrimination is wrong.” And “No vaccine passports.”

Well, cue the outrage!

A Global News story was headlined: “Growing chorus of calls for Vancouver-Quadra PPC candidate to resign following a controversial flyer.”

Not to be outdone, CBC ranted: “PPC candidate denounced for 'harmful and repugnant' comparison of vaccine cards to residential schools.”

Wow, that’s harsh…

To be sure, vaccine passports and the residential schools are two different issues. But there is some common ground: both were/are wrong. So, did Ms. Siekmann really distribute literature that was truly “repugnant”?

Conservative MP for Beauce defends refusing in-person debate with Bernier

Conservative MP Richard Lehoux, along with other candidates in the Beauce, Quebec riding, refused to debate in-person with the unvaccinated People's Party leader.

Recently, Richard Lehoux, the Conservative Party candidate representing the Quebec riding of Beauce, refused to debate in the same room as People's Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier since he was not vaccinated.

This discriminatory decision caused a lot of noise in the media and political circles.

I went to Beauce in order to ask Mr. Lehoux what his reason was for not wanting to debate with Mr. Bernier in person, and also to ask him some important questions on his party's policies.

I finally found Mr. Lehoux on the outside terrace of the Saint-Marie De Beauce golf club. Mr. Lehoux, with a bit of arrogance, somewhat answered my questions. Lehoux claims that we must respect his choice to be vaccinated, but also the choices of others. This seemed a little vague on his part, given that he does not want to speak out on the measures that have been taken in the provinces, since that's not his jurisdiction.

For him, it is necessary to promote the vaccine and is in agreement with the vaccine passport — a popular position supported by the Conservatives, Liberals, NDP and Bloc Quebecois.

With just hours left before the election, let's see who wins.

“Democracy is dead” in Canada? Viva Frei joins Westmount candidate kicked from debate for being unvaccinated

During a debate in the riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Westmount, Christian Heritage Party candidate Geofryde Wandji was kicked out, and the only candidate to object was Mr. David Freiheit (aka Viva Frei).

Christian Heritage Party candidate Geofryde Wandji was escorted out of the room by two people.

The only candidate to have reacted to the scene was Mr. David Freiheit (aka Viva Frei), who was there running for the People’s Party of Canada.

At the very start of the event, few or no people were asked for proof of vaccination to attend the debate. It was once all the candidates were seated that two security guards (a man and a woman) approached Mrs. Wandji and told her that they had heard that she had entered without having shown her proof of vaccine, and whether that was true.

According to Geofryde, the organizers targeted her, in relation to the values of the left.

Geofryde remains in shock at having experienced vaccine discrimination in Canada. This story unfortunately represents not only her, but other candidates across the country who were disqualified from their debate for lack of their vaccine proof.

Is democracy non-essential? Or is it only given to the vaccinated?

Erin O’Toole so-called candidate of “truth, duty, and valour” won't respond to Rebel News' questions

Conservative Party communications director Cory Hann refused to allowed David Menzies to ask Erin O'Toole questions in the final hours ahead of the Sept. 20 election.

With the 2021 federal election now in the home stretch, is Erin O’Toole feeling the pressure? Justin Trudeau had a disastrous campaign whereas the O’Toole camp performed quite well (if we can ignore the grotesque flip-flops on everything from gun bans to carbon taxes.) And yet, the Liberals and the Conservatives are in a statistical dead-heat.

On Sunday afternoon, O’Toole dropped by Markham, Ont., for a rally. The attendance could be measured in the dozens, making a Joe Biden rally look Trumpian by comparison.

Still, I wanted to ask Mr. O’Toole a few questions. After all, some 13 months ago, Erin O’Toole had all the time in the world for Rebel News reports at the Independent Press Gallery debate in Toronto. But that was then and this is now: copying the strategy of Andrew “Missing an Empty Net on a Breakaway” Scheer, Erin O’Toole considers Rebel News (and our 1.5+ million YouTube audience) to be media and audience non grata. Meanwhile, just like Scheer, he sucks up to the mean girls in the Media Party such as the CBC and the Toronto Star, media outlets that hate the Conservatives. (Is this not the textbook definition of insanity?)

So it was that when we arrived at the Markham industrial park to cover the rally, my camerawoman and I were told to beat it by Cory Hann (who had previously frog-marched my colleague, Alexa Lavoie, out of another Conservative Party event.) Hann claims we are “disruptive” but could not provide a single example of “disruptions.”

We were told to leave the parking lot and even the berm; so it was we had to do our reporting while standing on a busy street! (At least Mr. Hann was kind enough to remind us to watch out for vehicles zooming by at 70 km/h.)

Meanwhile, the Erin O’Toole bus was moved three times as the Conservative Party’s fearless leader cowered in fear inside the coach for more than 30 minutes! Why? Because a pesky Rebel News reporter might ask him some impolite questions?

Well, he was correct on that front. For when he finally slithered out of his bus, I shouted a few questions from the road. Namely:

Why are you stiffing Rebel News?

Likewise, why did you stiff Jordan Peterson?

Why are you in a statistical tie with the scandal-plagued Liberals?

Why did you throw Lisa Robinson, the former candidate for Beaches East York who was allegedly framed on social media, under the bus after previously stating you “had her back”?

Alas, no answers were forthcoming.

And to think that mere months ago Erin O’Toole billed himself as the “pro-free speech/anti-cancel culture” candidate? Astonishing…

Alberta's premier made a lot of lofty statements about vaccine passports never coming to the province — and now they're here. What's driving Premier Kenney's decision making? Sheila Gunn Reid joins Ezra Levant.

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney once promised that vaccine passports were never going to come to the province. In fact, passports were so off the table that Kenney said he wasn't even sure what a vaccine passport was, and thought the concept of it sounded illegal.

But people change, and so it was that Kenney, just weeks after his main provincial rival, NDP leader Rachel Notley, called for increased restrictions, Kenney relented and went back on his promise that Alberta was “open for good.”

Rebel Alberta Bureau Chief Sheila Gunn Reid joined a recent episode of The Ezra Levant Show to discuss this decision by Premier Kenney and what the rationale for flip-flop was.

Sheila speculated:

Is he being leaned on quite heavily by the public sector unions — the health-care unions, the enormous, powerful health-care union — maybe.

I was just looking at the numbers before I jumped on the call here with you, Alberta spends more than any other province in the entire country on health care delivery. Thousands of dollars more per capital than they do in Saskatchewan and socialist British Columbia.

And yet we have far worse outcomes and we have a health-care system, if you believe the premier and you believe the health-care unions, that is on the verge of collapse for an extra dozen or two ICU patients. I mean, that's crazy.

Canadians Head To The Polls In Election That Could Oust Justin Trudeau And Return Conservatives To Power

With polls suggesting an extremely tight race, Canadians are heading to the polls on Monday to vote in a snap federal election that was called last month by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to try and achieve an outright parliamentary majority by Trudeau's Liberals.

Unfortunately for Trudeau, in the weeks since he called the election, the Liberals have seen their lead slide, and are now running virtually neck-and-neck with the Conservatives. Souring support for Trudeau means it's entirely possible that the political scion could lose the premiership after six years in power, leaving Erin O'Toole and his conservatives to form a new government.

While the New Democratic Party and the Greens attacked Trudeau from the left, the conservatives have slammed Trudeau's flashy, "entitled" persona while arguing that Trudea's mishandling of the economy has created "Liberal inflation" squeezing Canadians by raising the cost of living.

Candidates scrambled to attend to packed schedules of last-minute campaigning on Monday, with Trudeau (who launched the "snap" election with a short walk to Rideau Hall on Aug. 15) kicking off the day with an event in Montreal. He's expected to touch down in several provinces before Tuesday, although he's not expected to speak with reporters - and, unsurprisingly, there's a good reason for that.

On Monday, with voters heading to the polls, Trudeau's enemies released a new (and this time, in color) photo of the PM wearing blackface at an event back in 2001. While previous photos have emerged from the event showing Trudeau wearing a ridiculous Middle-Eastern getup complete with the dark face makeup, the earlier photos were (ironically) black and white. As we have reported, Trudeau has appeared in public wearing blackface at least three times during his younger years, long before the start of his political career (which comes courtesy of the fact that he's the son of a former premier, although some have contested the 'official' story about his parentage, speculating that he might be the son of a different former world leader).

We have prepared reference sheets for each province that voters can print and bring with them to the polls. These documents can be provided directly to poll workers if they are giving you any grief related to covid protocols. Each document contains QR codes that can be scanned by poll workers to direct them to the relevant Elections Canada guidelines or provincial mandates.

52% of Canadians opposed to mandatory booster shots for workplace

A new poll has found that a majority of Canadians are against businesses forcing employees to get mandatory COVID-19 vaccine booster shots.

The Harris Poll survey commissioned by Express Employment Professionals found that over half of Canada’s population did not support such a mandate.

“Should employers require their employees to receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot?” the poll asked respondents.

The poll was conducted between September 2 to September 6, 2021 and included 1,012 adult Canadians.

In response, 52% of people polled were either totally against the idea or preferred that employers recommended a booster shot instead of making it mandatory.

When broken down even further, 34% opposed mandates but supported recommending booster shots while 18% were against employers having any kind of stance on COVID-19 booster shots.

On the other hand, 48% of those polled said that they would support a mandatory booster shot if their employer required it.

Recently, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) stated that more Canadians who were at-risk of COVID-19 infection should consider getting a third booster shot.

“This is not unusual for immunocompromised groups, where we often recommend different vaccine schedules to help them achieve better protection,” said NACI Chair Dr. Shelley Deeks.

“This is different from a booster dose, which would be used to boost an immune response that has waned over time.”

With regard to other groups of the population, NACI says that more time is needed before it can comment on the evidence for booster shots.

US lawmakers urge Biden to lift Canadian border restrictions

While restrictions remain in place at the Canada-US border, several US Senators are stepping up to urge President Joe Biden to once again allow Canadians to cross into the neighbouring country.

Democratic and Independent Senators Jeanne Shaheen, Maggie Hassan, Jon Tester and Angus King asked the president to lift the restriction before October in an open letter to Biden.

“A plan with some indication of when your administration would feel comfortable lifting border restrictions based on public health data would provide clarity to businesses and families along the northern border,” the letter wrote.

In the letter, the senators also criticized the apparent contradiction of Canadians being allowed to fly into the US while land borders continue to be closed.

“We struggle to understand the public health rationale for the disparate treatment in modes of travel,” the senators wrote.

The latest extension of border closures by the US was set to expire on September 21, 2021. However, on Monday, Biden announced that the border will remain closed for at least another month.

New US regulations also require any air traveller to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours before boarding a plane and proof that they are vaccinated.

Recently, the Canadian government opened up nonessential travel to fully vaccinated Americans on August 9.

Despite this move, the US has not yet indicated when it would be lifting its restrictions on the land border.

Canada’s border with the US has been closed since at least March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic was at its height.

Justin Trudeau’s Liberals won another minority government in Canada’s federal elections held amidst the pandemic.

The Epoch Times' Isaac Teo reports that while not all ballots are counted yet and mail-in ballots are to be counted in coming days, Liberals secured enough seats to be able to form a minority government, but will remain short of the 170 seats required to form a majority government.

The Liberal Party, promising to continue its progressive path on climate action and finishing “the fight against COVID-19,” won or was leading in 156 ridings in the early hours of Tuesday, close to its 155 seats at dissolution.

The opposition Conservatives, touting the party’s platform for “Canada’s recovery,” won or were leading in 121 ridings, close to their 119 seats at dissolution.

Bloc Québécois, which continued its Quebec-first message throughout the campaign, won or was leading in 27 ridings, close to its 32 seats the party held at dissolution.

The NDP, which was competing for the progressive votes with the Liberals and counting on the popularity of leader Jagmeet Singh, won or was leading in 21 ridings, also close to its 24 seats at dissolution.

The Greens held on to the two seats they had at dissolution, while leader Annamie Paul failed to win in her riding of Toronto Centre. Long-time Green MP Elizabeth May won in her BC riding while fellow BC Green incumbent Paul Manly lost in his riding, but the loss was offset with Green candidate Mike Morrice winning in the Kitchener Centre riding.

Maxime Bernier’s People’s Party didn’t win any seats, including in Bernier’s riding of Beauce in Quebec, which was won by the incumbent Conservative candidate. The party, which had campaigned on upholding personal liberties and fighting for COVID-19 vaccine choice, increased its share of national vote to over 5 percent as of the early hours of Tuesday, up from less than 2 percent in 2019.

Throughout the campaign, the Trudeau Liberals had defended their decision to call an election only two years after the last one, when they lost their majority in the 2019 election, saying Canadians needed to decide who will lead the country toward ending the pandemic.

Both leaders of the leading parties remained defiant in their post-election speeches, although Trudeau was expecting to win a majority, and Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole to form government.

“You are sending us back to work, with a clear mandate to get Canada through this pandemic and to brighter days ahead,” Trudeau said in his victory speech in Montreal.

“I see Canadians standing together; together in your determination to end this pandemic, together for real climate action, for $10 a day child care, for homes that are in reach for middle class families, for our shared journey on the path of reconciliation.” Continue…

There are no religious or conscience exemptions to Ontario’s draconian new vaccine passport scheme, and only under extremely rare scenarios can someone obtain a medical exemption.

TORONTO (LifeSiteNews) – Effective September 22, the Canadian province of Ontario will be implementing vaccine passport measures. Currently, almost 80 percent of residents ages twelve and up have taken both jabs, which leaves 20 percent of vaccine-eligible Ontarians banned from a variety of “non-essential” services.

With almost thirteen million people over the age of twelve in the province, millions of Ontarians will be barred from accessing a host of businesses and activities.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced the implementation of a vaccine segregation policy on September 1. The provincial government has released a set of guidelines for business that explains how the government is expecting the passports to be implemented and enforced. The document is a summary of legislation laid out under the Reopening of Ontario Act (ROA).

The document stipulates that applicable businesses are required to comply with the guidelines, and failure to comply with the policy could result in fines as low as $750 and $1000 for individuals and corporations respectively. Maximum penalties can be in the hundreds of thousands, with potential jail time.

Business and organizations are also responsible to ensure that the information is collected accurately. Patrons will only be allowed full access if they show proof of identity and certification of their vaccination.

Patrons will be required to provide their medical information to the employees, who in all likelihood have no medical training, or they will be turned away. The businesses that collect the medical information from residents have been instructed by the government that they will “not retain any information provided by a patron.” Continue…

As Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau was taking the stage to declare victory on election night, a senior adviser in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) tweeted that the election results give the government a clear mandate to move faster on climate change.

PMO Adviser Sarah Goodman tweeted in the early hours of Monday morning that the party is now “ready and revved up to deliver more climate action” as it assumes office.

Although the election results could continue rolling in until Wednesday due to Elections Canada staff shortages and mail-in ballots, seat counts show that the Liberals have won a minority government.

To date, the Liberals were able to secure 148 seats in the House of Commons beating out the Conservatives who only were able to elect 117 MPs.

With very few seats changing hands between parties, critics have accused Trudeau of calling an unnecessary election.

During his election speech last night, Trudeau stated that the night’s results were a “clear mandate” for the Liberals.

“There are still votes to be counted. But what we’ve seen tonight is that millions of Canadians have chosen a progressive plan,” claimed Trudeau.

“I see Canadians, standing together. Together, in your determination to end this pandemic. Together for real climate action, for $10-a-day child care, for homes that are … for middle class families.”

In the past, the Liberals claimed that they would not raise the carbon tax, however, in the midst of the pandemic last year, the Trudeau government moved forward with a 50% increase to the carbon tax.

Recent disclosures show that despite the hefty levy, the carbon tax has been unable to reduce emissions and in 2018 when the carbon tax was in effect, emissions actually increased by 15 million tonnes.

According to estimates, this year was Canada’s most expensive election in history.

Estimates by Elections Canada project that the 36-day election campaign cost Canadian taxpayers approximately $610 million, nearly $100 million more than the 2019 election which cost $502.4 million.

The Conservative strategy failed. There needs to be a reckoning.

Everyone lost in last night’s election — especially Justin Trudeau’s Liberals. But the Conservatives lost too, and we need to talk about why. Leader Erin O’Toole’s strategy was to run as a moderate.

He pushed away the libertarians in the party through his authoritarian pro-lockdown and pro-vaccine passport policies, and he shunned social conservatives — pledging to ignore moral issues and move the party towards woke progressive values. He spent the final week of the campaign apologizing for the conservatives in his party.

This strategy failed. Badly.

The Conservatives failed to make any inroads among liberal and progressive voters. They were shut out of the 905, decimated in the Lower Mainland and failed to add any seats in Quebec.

Former top adviser to Harper blasts O’Toole for losing “winnable election”

Conservative strategist and former top adviser to former prime minister Stephen Harper, Jenni Byrne, said the Conservative Party will have to reckon with O’Toole’s performance for losing what she referred to as a “winnable election.”

Byrne made the comments during a CTV News panel as it was becoming clear the Liberals were forming another minority government.

“This is going to be part of the post-mortem that the party does regardless of what the results are because if you look at extremely Conservative ridings, there was an increase in the PPC vote,” said Byrne.

“That is going to have to be something the party looks at in terms of this campaign – the voters that Erin thought he was appealing to – because we didn’t make any gains in the GTA.”

Although votes continue to be counted due to Elections Canada staffing issues and mail-in ballots, Conservatives are projected to have not gained any seats in the 2021 election.

As it stands, the Conservatives are set to finish with fewer seats than the 121 they received in 2019. According to Elections Canada, O’Toole is leading in 119 seats this election while the Liberals lead with 158, a slight decline where they were sitting last election.

“It was a winnable election…the Conservatives were leading in the national polls. Unlike even in 2019, this election was a lot more winnable for the Conservatives,” said Byrne.

On the campaign trail, O’Toole reneged on several policies he championed to the Conservative base while running for the leadership in 2020.

Among the positions O’Toole flip-flopped on was repealing the federal carbon tax, defunding the CBC and reversing his position on the Liberal gun ban.

Although O’Toole lost the election, he indicated to reporters that he plans on staying on as Conservative Party leader but has triggered a campaign review.

“I will continue to work tirelessly with our caucus, campaign team, and party members, to keep building the support we need,” O’Toole said on Tuesday.

“We are building towards victory next time.”

Last night, the PPC managed to triple their vote share from the 2019 election. However, they failed to gain any seats in Parliament. Going into the night, Bernier outlined that a victory for his party would be to obtain 6% of the national vote, but the current numbers indicate that the PPC fell just short with 5% of the vote.

PPC to run three candidates for Alberta senate election in October

After nearly tripling its national vote count, the People’s Party of Canada (PPC) is now plunging headfirst into yet another campaign by fielding three candidates for the 2021 Alberta Senate Election.

The election, which is set to take place on October 18, 2021 in conjunction with the province’s municipal elections, will result in three candidates being nominated to fill senate vacancies when they appear.

Alberta is currently the only province where elections are held to nominate Senate appointments. The prime minister is not obligated or bound to the nominations and is free to choose his own senate appointment if he so wishes.

Currently, there remains only one vacancy in the Senate for Alberta.

The three Senate candidates registered for the election were all former candidates for the 2021 general election which ended with a Liberal minority government on Monday.

They include Red Deer County resident Kelly Lorencz, Ann McCormack from Mannville and Nadine R. Wellwood of Cochrane.

Lorencz, who was the PPC candidate for Red Deer–Mountainview, was able to come in third place in the riding with 12.1% of the vote.

All three registered their candidacies on the deadline of September 20, 2021.

In an emailed statement to True North, PPC Spokesperson Martin Masse said that the goal of the election was to give Albertans the opportunity to express approval for the party’s policies such as support for pipelines, equalization reform and opposition to a carbon tax.

“A victory for our candidates would obviously send a message to Ottawa and showcase the PPC as the only option for people who support these policies,” Masse told True North.

“What’s also interesting in these Senate elections is that the bogus argument of ‘splitting the vote’ that many conservatives have used against us is completely irrelevant since we are not electing a government.”

The bid to have a PPC candidate nominated for the Senate is the first post-election step for the fledgling party which shocked voters by outpolling major rivals like the Bloc Quebecois and the Green Party of Canada.

According to Elections Canada, the PPC gained over 5% of the national vote, nearly double that of the Greens, who finished with only 2.3% of the popular vote. Despite the gain in vote count, the PPC was unable to elect a single MP to the House of Commons.

In August, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the appointment of Karen Sorensen to the senate for Alberta which sparked an immediate backlash from Alberta Premier Jason Kenney.

Conservative national councillor launches petition to dump Erin O’Toole as leader

The ballots from Monday’s federal election haven’t yet been counted, but a member of the Conservative Party of Canada’s National Council has already launched a petition calling for Erin O’Toole to be recalled as leader.

Bert Chen, who holds an Ontario seat on the Conservatives’ governing council, says in his petition that O’Toole has “betrayed” the party and has to go.

“Erin O’Toole has BETRAYED the principles that the Conservative Party is founded on,” the petition says.

“Erin O’Toole has BROKEN THE TRUST of the members of the Conservative Party.

“Erin O’Toole’s campaign in the 2021 Federal Election FAILED in electing enough Conservative MPs to form a government.”

The Change.org petition is non-binding, but according to Chen it is being used to collect contact information to share an official version with Conservative members for the purpose of recalling O’Toole by internal party referendum.

The Conservative Party of Canada’s constitution allows party members to trigger a binding referendum if 5% of members in at least five provinces sign a petition calling for one.

The petition cites O’Toole’s proposed carbon tax as a key objection, as well as “trampling the freedoms of the individual in supporting vaccine passports” and putting forward “an ineffective plan that abandoned fiscal responsibility.”

While the party’s constitution requires O’Toole as a losing party leader to submit to a leadership review at the next policy convention, this isn’t scheduled until 2023, which Chen’s petition says allows O’Toole to “dodge his accountability.”

O’Toole has signalled his intention to stay on and build off of his party’s performance in the election.

Speaking to reporters from Ottawa Tuesday afternoon, O’Toole avoided questions about calls from within his party for his resignation.

“In about 30 ridings, we came within 2,000 votes of the Liberals. We are building towards victory next time. We are closer in dozens upon dozens of ridings but not close enough,” he said.

“I am disappointed that we lost some members and I’ve already initiated a post-election review to examine what went right, what went wrong and what we can do better to win in 18 months.”

O’Toole mentioned the “18 months” target several times in an apparent reference to a comment made by Justin Trudeau during the campaign that a minority government might not be stable enough to last longer than a year and a half.

As of Tuesday evening, the Conservatives had about 250,000 more votes than the Liberals, but trailed in seats with the Liberals leading and elected in 158, compared to 119 for the Conservatives.

Nurses' unions call for more nurses, not less, as vax mandate cuts loom

The BC Nurses Union (BCNU) partnered with the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) and other nursing unions to take part in Canada's Nurses Day of Action.

“We need more nurses!” That was one of the pleas a group of nurses chanted out front of B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix’s Vancouver constituency office on September 17.

The BC Nurses Union (BCNU) partnered with the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) and other nursing unions to take part in Canada's Nurses Day of Action. They say they are done asking for the government to provide them with respect, safety, fairness, and enough nurses to provide safe patient care in B.C.

The lack of government support regarding Canada’s health-care worker shortage has been stretched further by the province’s ‘vax or be axed’ mandate, which, if enacted, will ban frontline health-care workers who have not been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 from working in certain facilities, come October 24.

During one of the prime minister‘s recent B.C. visits, I attempted to ask Trudeau how British Columbians can afford to lose frontline health-care workers, but he had more important things to do than answer the question. Calls to sack Tyler Shandro, the United Conservative MLA for Calgary-Acadia, have finally been heeded by Premier Jason Kenney after 18 months of public demands for Shandro’s removal as the minister in charge of Alberta Health Services (AHS).

According to reporting by the Western Standard, two sources have told the online publication that Shandro will be replaced as health minister by Jason Copping, UCP MLA for Calgary-Varsity.

Global News is also reporting a cabinet shuffle will take place Tuesday afternoon.

“Premier Jason Kenney will announce the shuffle at 3:30 p.m. and will follow with a press conference with Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw to update the COVID-19 situation in the province.”

During this July's Calgary Stampede, a Rebel News street team consisting of Adam Soos and Kian Simone took to Calgary with a digital billboard truck asking the premier to “Fire Shandro.” The truck displayed exclusive video footage of the arrest of Calgary pastor Tim Stephens in front of his children for breaking an Alberta Health Services court order that banned “illegal public gatherings,'' including non-COVID compliant church services. AHS regulations at the time required Stephens to force masks, attendance limits and social distancing on his congregation.

Staff at Shandro's office recently threatened to call the cops on Soos and Simone when they tried to drop off a petition signed by 130,000 Canadians opposing vaccine passports.

Sources tell Rebel News that calls for a leadership review of the premier himself are growing louder within caucus, over Kenney reneging on a promise that Alberta would be "open for good" after the "best summer ever" and that he would oppose vaccine passports as a violation of privacy rights.

Alberta announced a vaccine passport, or restriction program, for non-essential activities including restaurants and theatres on September 20.

Premier Jason Kenney went back on his word and issued a vaccine passport for Alberta. Protesters gathered to say they want the freedom to choose for themselves at the most recent Worldwide Freedom Rally.

The “best summer ever” promised to Albertans has tuned into the autumn of medical voyeurism. Along with the once rejected vaccine passport to participate in anything fun, the Kenney government has reinstated COVID restrictions on gatherings, churches and businesses. Oh, and masks. The masks are back everywhere.

The weekly anti-lockdown protests at the legislature grounds, which had dwindled after the premier swore that Alberta would be “open for good,” are ramping up again. The holdouts who continued to rally in the meantime, skeptical that the politicians would keep their word this time, have every right to be smug about just how correct they were.

The World Wide Rally for Freedom took place this Saturday at the Edmonton Legislature and in cities and towns all over the world, from Vancouver to Toronto to London. Rebel News was there with teams to cover the other side of the protests that you won't see in the mainstream media.

The people protesting are not anti-vaxxers. They want to be able to choose what medical procedures they are going to participate in; free from coercion. And I looked in Edmonton, high and low, and I could not find the dangerous, uncaring misogynists Trudeau told us would be there.

I did find a lot of moms worried about their kids being denied access to their sports, because they don't want to vaccinate their kids against COVID until more studies are done. There were no white supremacists that I could find, even though Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi had told me I would see some protesting the lockdown. Instead, I found people from all backgrounds united against the social perversion that is robbing people of privacy rights by forcing them to show their vaccine status to get a beer or go to a movie.

Dr. Howard Tenenbaum believes that if the body is an inopportune host for viral infection, then the virus cannot replicate and cause inflammation.

In this interview I’m bringing you the expertise of Dr. Howard Tenenbaum. As a health researcher and periodontist with a PhD in bone cell biology, Dr. Tenenbaum has a specific interest in oral inflammation and systemic diseases. We discuss how COVID infection causes cardiovascular and heart inflammation – the attack on these systems is the reason many succumb to the virus.

Dr. Tenenbaum explains the research he and his colleagues have conducted into reducing viral load and treating the patient instead of the virus. His logic is that if the body is an inopportune host for viral infection, then the virus cannot replicate and cause inflammation. In order to combat those with higher risk factors – inflammatory co-morbidities like diabetes and obesity – then the use of sequential multi-drug therapy is highly effective when individualized dependent on viral loads and risk factors. These include hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, doxycycline, zinc, etc.

He notes that early treatment is especially key in preventing mortality outcomes in the elderly, who have undoubtedly been hit hardest by both COVID and its subsequent policies. There is also research into using these therapies prophylactically – especially given the reduction of disease incidences in healthcare workers who received such treatments.

Given the risk of myocarditis and pericarditis, especially in male adolescents, who are statistically at zero risk of COVID complications, Dr. Tenenbaum believes we should shift from relying solely on COVID vaccines – which don't fully prevent infection or stop the spread – to focused efforts on cocooning the vulnerable, early treatment and prevention.

New Study Shows 1 in 1000 Develop Heart Inflammation After Covid Vaccination; Myocarditis and Other Related Heart Conditions Have Increased Death Rate Within 5 Years

A shocking new study that was conducted by researchers at Canada’s University of Ottawa Heart Institute found that one out of every thousand(1/1000) mRNA Covid-19 vaccinations causes heart inflammation(myopericarditis) to develop rapidly in otherwise healthy individuals.

The study looked at over 32,000 individuals who had received either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines and monitored them for heart-related conditions between June 1, 2021, and July 31, 2021.

32 of the study subjects were admitted into the hospital with heart and chest-related symptoms.

“There were 15,997 doses of Moderna vaccine, and 16,382 doses of Pfizer vaccine administered over the study period, for a total of 32,379 doses. Note that these numbers represent a mixture of first and second doses.

Therefore, if our cohort captured all cases in the Ottawa area, then the incidence of myocarditis would be 0.1% of all vaccine doses (32 cases/32,379 doses x 100), or 10 cases of myocarditis for every 10,000 doses of vaccine.”

Researchers found that the symptoms show up extremely quickly after vaccination, usually after the patient’s second dose. On average, people who were affected developed the condition after just 1.5 days.

They also found that men are at a much greater risk than women – only 2 women experienced heart inflammation.

“32 patients were identified over the period of interest. Eighteen patients were diagnosed with myocarditis; 12 with myopericarditis; and 2 with pericarditis alone.

The median age was 33 years (18-65 years). The sex ratio was 2 females to 29 males.

In 5 cases, symptoms developed after only a single dose of mRNA vaccine. In 27 patients, symptoms developed after their second dose of. Median time between vaccine dose and symptoms was 1.5 days (1-26 days).”

People who took the Moderna jab were 3x more likely to develop symptoms than those who took the Pfizer shot.

To date, this has been the largest case study that has looked at the correlation between Covid mRNA vaccines and myocarditis symptoms within a month of vaccination.

If the results are true, it would actually be more of a risk for anyone under 65 to receive the shot than it would be to contract the virus and recover, especially depending on how young they are. Myocarditis and pericarditis both come with an extremely poor prognosis and end up killing over 50% within 3-10 years of their diagnosis.

According to the most recent data, Americans under 65 have about a 1 in 1863 (Population – 273,820,000 / Total Covid deaths – 146,991) or .00054 chance of dying from Covid-19 or .054%. If you lower the age to 50 and under, the chance that Covid is fatal drops precipitously to .00017 or 1 in 5841 or .o17%.

In other words, the chances that covid will kill you if you are under 50 are almost 6x lower than the chances you will develop a debilitating (and often fatal in the long run) heart condition.

Even more shocking – people under 40 who take the jab are almost 13.5 times more likely to develop some form of myocarditis or pericarditis than to be killed by Covid. Keep in mind the median age from this study was 33. Continue…

"Very Rare" Earthquake Rocks Melbourne, Buildings Shake Across Australia

One of the most powerful onshore earthquakes that rocked the state of Victoria, Australia, couldn't have come at the worst time as anti-lockdown protesters are fed up with the government's COVID restrictions and vaccine requirements.

According to Geoscience Australia, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck around 0915 local time about 75 miles northeast of Melbourne, causing damage to buildings.

Photos and videos flooded social media of the aftermath. It appears some buildings in Melbourne were damaged. So far, local officials are reporting no casualties.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison updated the press on the ongoing situation and said quakes are "very rare events in Australia." Several tremors were felt after the initial quake.

The timing of the quake comes as people in Melbourne are under COVID lockdowns. On Tuesday, more than 20,000 anti-lockdown protesters clashed with police and shut down city streets.

Dee Ninis at the Seismology Research Centre in Melbourne said the metro area should be thankful the epicenter of the quake occurred outside town, which was not in a populated place.

Fr. Mark Goring drew a parallel between what's taking place today and priests such as St. John Vianney who resisted during the French Revolution.'

(LifeSiteNews) – A Canadian Catholic priest known for speaking boldly on church and world issues said clergymen are commanded to do the Lord’s work and not to “set aside the divine command for government dictates.”

“And so, we can pray for the places in the world where priests have to celebrate Mass underground and also the places in the world that seem to be moving in this direction, that the Lord give priests the courage to be faithful to their vows and not to give in to government pressures dictating how they’re supposed to do things,” Fr. Mark Goring said in a YouTube video posted yesterday.

“As priests, we follow the divine commands of our Lord Jesus Christ. He commanded us to feed the sheep, to do his good work, to proclaim the gospel and we don’t set aside the divine command for government dictates. Our Lord Jesus said he who perseveres to the end will be saved.”

Goring, an Ottawa area-based priest of the Companions of the Cross, has a large following on his YouTube channel. He is known for his orthodox and charismatic style of preaching and his boldness in preaching the truth.

In his video titled “Priests Going Underground,” Goring brings up the historical context of the persecution of priests who resisted government mandates during the French Revolution. Many priests were martyred.

Goring spoke of St. John Vianney and the book The Cure d’Ars. The book talks about Vianney’s experiences as a child in revolutionary France and how priests who did not go along with government oaths were “persecuted.”

“I want to speak about priests who have to go underground. St. John Vianney, he’s the patron saint of priests, as a child, his family would attend Mass with priests who were resisting the French Revolution,” Goring noted.

“They wouldn’t sign the civil constitution of the clergy. Some of the bishops and priests were signing this schismatic oath and were no longer in communion with the church. They were going along with the government, letting the government dictate how the church was run and compromising the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Goring pointed out that all “good priests,” as noted by St. Vianney, “refused the oath, and in consequence, were hunted and persecuted and driven into exile.”

Goring said of St. Vianney’s childhood experience, “That’s why he was hard core for the Lord Jesus. He saw priests risking their lives to feed their sheep, to lead people to eternal life.” Continue…
