GEORGIA NIGHTMARE: Judge in 2020 Election Case Hands Investigation Over to Attorneys for Corrupt SoS Raffensperger – Gives Them 20 Days

 

The 2020 Election case in Georgia took a bizarre twist today in the Peach State. The judge handed the investigation over to the attorneys for the individual who is responsible for creating the mess in the first place, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

 

As we reported this morning, there was an important court case in Georgia related to the 2020 Election there. The elections group VoterGA was in Henry County Court requesting access to the 2020 Fulton County election absentee ballots.

 

The results of the hearing were very disappointing. It’s as if someone got to the judge.

 

This is currently the biggest case in Georgia on the controversial election, the other big case was thrown out by another corrupt Obama judge shortly after the election.

 

Today Judge Amero took a break during the hearing , where the State did all they could to prevent the judge from allowing VoterGA from having access to the ballots in Fulton county to review for validation. The judge then brought in attorneys for corrupt Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to talk on video. Judge Amero then eventually allowed the Raffensperger team the ability to stall the case for another 20 days.

 

CD Media was live-blogging the hearing that started at 10:15 am eastern time.

 

1027 – VoterGA requests ballots be protected in interim – Judge gives 20 days to develop plan to protect ballots in conjunction with Sheriff, VoterGA will need to pay for additional security

 

1025 – Judge delays case for 20 days to get report from GBI, GA SoS Raffensperger’s office on investigation into counterfeit ballots

 

1020 – County ecstatic, overjoyed, case delayed – Judge wants to give Raffensperger the ability to decide case against Raffensperger

 

1020 – Judge wants to stay case

 

1019 – Judge wants to invite State Board of Elections to submit amicus brief, and GBI, 10 or 20 days says Judge

 

1018 – Judge seems to want to turn over issue to SoS Raffensperger’s staff

 

1017 – SoS says investigation still ongoing

 

1015 – Judge brings in GA SoS on video

 

Raffensperger opened an investigation in June in response to this case amid reports that chain of custody documentation is not present in the county for tens of thousands of ballots.

 

Chain of custody documents are legally required in order for a ballot to be legitimate.

So the corrupt Secretary of State who is responsible for this mess was given 20 days to review this mess and come up with more delays or excuses.

Six Evergrande Execs Face 'Severe Punishment' Over Early Redemptions For Themselves

 

Six senior Evergrande executives are facing "severe punishment" for securing early redemptions for themselves on investment products which the imploding Chinese real estate giant told retail investors they couldn't repay on time.

 

According to the Financial Times, over 40 group executives had personally invested in its investment products - with six of them securing early redemptions. All six will return the money.

 

"All funds redeemed by the managers must be returned and severe penalties will be imposed," said the company, which has offered to repay investors with discounted apartments and parking lots.

 

Shares in the Hong Kong-listed Evergrande fell as much as 18.9% on Monday, sending shockwaves throughout international markets over 'broader concerns about the health of China's real estate sector.' At present, over 500 of Evergrande's 800+ projects across China are halted - with at least several hundred thousand units which have been presold yet not delivered. To complete construction, the company needs at least 100 billion yuan (US$15bn).

Saying that Kara Bell was a bit upset at board members of the Lake Travis Independent School District in Austin, Texas, is a bit of an understatement.

 

No, Bell β€” a local mom and former board member candidate β€” was livid during the school board meeting last week over a middle school library book she deemed sexually explicit, KXAN-TV reported.

 

And watching video of Bell reading a passage from the book to the board, some might be inclined to argue that she's on to something.

 

"Take her out back, we boys figured, then hand on the t***ies, put it in her cornbox, put it in her cornhole, grab a hold of that braid, rub that calico," she recited to the board, before adding, "You can find that on page 39 of the book called 'Out of Darkness,' which you can find at Hudson Bend Middle School and Bee Cave Middle School."

 

"Out of Darkness" is a 2015 young adult novel by Ashley Hope PΓ©rez, the station said.

 

Bell continued, "All right, not gonna lie, had to Google 'cornhole' because I have the game in the back of my yard. But according to Wikipedia, 'cornhole' is a sexual slang vulgarism for anus. The term came into … use in the 1910s in the United States … its verb form 'to cornhole,' which came into usage in the 1930s, means to have anal sex."

 

Then she blasted the board members: "I do not want my children to learn about anal sex in middle school! I've never had anal sex! I don't want to have anal sex! I don't want my kids having anal sex! I want you to start focusing on education and not public health!"

 

At that point Bell's microphone was cut off, but her school board takedown can still be heard on video: "You are not public health officials; you are supposed to be educating our children! Do not teach them about anal sex!"

Cop Admits He Used β€˜Incest App’ and Paid $200 to Rape 2 Young Children, 8 and 10

 

Jersey City, NJ β€” As the Free Thought Project reports on a regular basis, police officers are caught on a regular basis preying on society’s most vulnerable. There are so many of these instances that we cannot possibly report on all of them. However, some of them are so over the top, that we feel compelled to call them out. Disgraced Jersey City police officer Stephen Wilson, 34, is one of these cases.

 

Wilson is a veteran law enforcement officer and has been with the Jersey City PD for over a decade. After his arrest in February, the department quickly distanced themselves from him, however, and the red flags began to surface.

 

After his arrest, Wilson was charged with conspiracy to commit human trafficking, attempted aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment. During a plea agreement last week, Wilson admitted to using an β€œincest app” that connected him to human traffickers. According to his confession, he paid human traffickers on the app $200, to supply him with two girls, ages 8 and 10, who he could rape in Atlantic City.

 

According to police, Wilson was intercepted in Atlantic City before meeting the human traffickers. This public servant and married father had condoms and $500 cash on him when he was arrested.

 

Last week, instead of going to trial, prosecutors offered Wilson a deal in exchange for his confession. On October 21, Wilson will begin an 8 year prison sentence and will also have to register as a sex offender and will be put on lifetime parole supervision once he’s freed. This lifetime parole is part of an initiative passed in 2018 called Megan’s Law.

 

The sentence should β€œserve as a warning to anyone who believes they can exploit or prey on innocent children.” Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said. β€œPredators like Wilson will go to great lengths to sexually exploit children, but law enforcement will go farther to bring them to justice.”

 

β€œChild predators like Wilson are not only using more sophisticated technologies, but they are networking with other abusers in order to find their next victim,” said New Jersey State Police Supt. Col. Patrick J. Callahan.

 

As stated above, Wilson raised several red flags over the course of his career, up to and including an instance in Atlantic City where he disappeared and lied about his whereabouts. When a journalist with the RealGardenState.com asked the department about Wilson, some of his fellow cops said they suspected Wilson was β€œoff” and were not surprised by his arrest. Following the arrest, JCPD sources reached out to Real Garden State expressing their disgust with the horrific allegations. Many were not shocked and essentially stated there was β€œalways something off” about Wilson. Some even suggested there might have been warning signs.

But with kids now back in school and the extra-contagious delta variant causing a huge jump in pediatric infections, many parents are anxiously awaiting vaccinations for their younger children.

 

For elementary school-aged kids, Pfizer tested a much lower dose β€” a third of the amount that’s in each shot given now. Yet after their second dose, children ages 5 to 11 developed coronavirus-fighting antibody levels just as strong as teenagers and young adults getting the regular-strength shots, Dr. Bill Gruber, a Pfizer senior vice president, told The Associated Press.

 

The kid dosage also proved safe, with similar or fewer temporary side effects β€” such as sore arms, fever or achiness β€” that teens experience, he said.

 

β€œI think we really hit the sweet spot,” said Gruber, who’s also a pediatrician.

 

Gruber said the companies aim to apply to the Food and Drug Administration by the end of the month for emergency use in this age group, followed shortly afterward with applications to European and British regulators.

After the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals struck down the law in December 2019, the state of Mississippi asked the Supreme Court to take up the case.

 

Dobbs will touch on the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling since the Supreme Court will hear arguments on whether abortion bans prior to fetal viability are constitutional, and the case will be one of the first major abortion cases in which all three of former President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court justice appointees participate, including Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who gained a seat on the court after a contentious confirmation process in October.

 

At issue is the question of whether all pre-viability bans on abortions are unconstitutional.

It's not just Evergrande that is about to keel over. Overnight, one of its smaller peers, Shanghai-based Sinic Holdings Group which focuses on the development of residential and commercial properties in China, was halted trading after it shares cratered in a freak 87% plunge on Monday afternoon. The plunge slashed the market value to just under $230 million, which is laughable for a listed developer in the city.

 

There was no reason for the selloff - an officer at the firm’s Hong Kong office said there’s no one to attend to media inquires which is probably not a good sign - which was attributed to the general panic resulting from Evergrande's imminent default, nor did the company give a reason for the trading halt in Hong Kong.

 

One thing was clear: selling volumes were off the chart, and as Bloomberg observes, the sudden selloff in the last two hours leading up to the suspension was accompanied by a surge in trading volume that was about 14 times its average in the past year. The liquidation may have been a margin call on a core shareholder who was forced to hit any bid, but we probably won't know for a few days.

 

Unlike Evergrande, Sinic is not faced with an imminent default, but it does have a 9.5% $246 million bond due on Oct. 18 and Fitch Ratings revised its outlook to negative last week.

 

"It’s the same story as everywhere else – investors are concerned about the liquidity," said Philip Tse, director and head of Hong Kong and China property research at Bocom International Holdings Co Ltd. β€œI think there are most likely some margin calls on some of the major shareholders” by looking at Sinic’s stock price pattern this afternoon.

 

The crash came as Hong Kong’s property gauge plunged the most since May 2020 amid growing investor angst about China’s real estate crackdown and worries that Beijing may tighten grip on the city’s property sector in its β€œCommon Prosperity” campaign. Today, we begin with the startling results of our investigation that found in some documented cases, news that Covid was the cause of death was greatly exaggerated.

 

Grand County, Colorado, rural country a hundred miles outside of Denver.

 

Thanksgiving 2020, Lucais Reilly shoots his wife Kristin in the head, then turns the gun on himself, committing suicide. They have alcohol and drugs in their system and a history of domestic troubles.

 

Grand County coroner Brenda Bock explains how the small town tragedy is exposing serious questions about the way Covid deaths are counted.

 

Brenda Bock: I had a homicide-suicide the end of November, and the very next day it showed up on the state website as Covid deaths. And they were gunshot wounds. And I questioned that immediately because I had not even signed off the death certificates yet, and the state was already reporting them as Covid deaths.

 

Bock says somebody, somewhere had apparently run the couple’s names through a database showing they’d tested positive for Covid within 28 days of their death. Then recorded them as Covid deaths even though they died of gunshots.

 

Sharyl: If we look at the death certificates for the murder-suicide case, what will it say about Covid?

 

Bock: Nothing, absolutely nothing. I paid a forensic pathologist to do the autopsies on those two cases. And nowhere is COVID mentioned on those death certificates. Nowhere.

 

Bock: This is a copy of the death certificate, and nowhere does it say COVID. So we have a homicide, suicide, nothing to do with COVID.

 

Because there had been no Covid deaths within the geographic boundaries of Grand County in 2020, Bock was in a unique position to challenge the state’s accounting. In many cities and counties, the numbers are too big and the coroners would never know about discrepancies.

 

Within a week of the murder-suicide, two more Grand County deaths popped up on the state’s Covid count. Bock investigated and found out why she had no record of them.

 

Bock: Two of them were actually still alive, and yet they were counting them. Had I not called them on it and asked them who those were, where were they from, all the information about it and it’s like, β€œOh, well that was a typo. They just got put in there by accident.”

 

Merrit Linke: The coroner did officially talk to us at one of our regular Tuesday County Commission meetings about this discrepancy in how the state was reporting our COVID numbers.

 

Merrit Linke is chair of the Grand County Board of Commissioners.

 

Linke: We drafted and signed a letter, all three Commissioners, and the coroner also signed, and sent it to the governor, saying β€œHey, these numbers are not correct. It’s not right. We should report these correctly, and please fix this.”

 

It wasn’t just happening in Grand County. Dr. James Caruso is chief medical examiner and coroner for Denver.

From what I've seen..the guy who reported the domestic dispute said he was hitting her and the police report with that call says that. The traffic video I saw the police said he was the victim and he had the marks. I have seen some on Fox pushing that he was the aggressor.

Harvey Weinstein again pleads Not Guilty to rape and sex assault charges

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Harvey Weinstein again pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of rape and sexual assault on Monday, as his defense attorney complained that prosecutors are training a "water cannon" of uncharged allegations at him.

Weinstein had pleaded not guilty to the same charges in July, shortly after being extradited to Los Angeles from New York. But prosecutors brought a new indictment against him in August, in order to salvage a charge that had been dismissed on statute of limitations grounds.

Weinstein was again wheeled into court, wearing a brown jail jumpsuit and a mask below his nose. He spoke only briefly, agreeing to waive trial deadlines. A trial is not expected until next spring, at the earliest.

Weinstein's attorney, Mark Werksman, said that Weinstein is being held as a "keep away" at the Twin Towers jail in downtown Los Angeles due to his high profile status and his health problems. He said Weinstein is "obviously struggling" with the situation, which he said is "akin to solitary confinement."

"He can't walk and he can't see," Werksman said.

 

Prosecutors filed a motion on Monday asking the court to allow several Weinstein accusers to testify at trial in support of the five women whose claims pertain to the 11 counts. The motion was filed under seal, but prosecutors had previously indicated they would ask that 10-12 such "prior bad acts" witnesses be permitted to testify.

Werksman complained that the DA's office is "opening up a water cannon of allegations against Mr. Weinstein through numerous uncharged alleged victims."

Werksman has also filed a motion to dismiss the entire case, arguing that prosecutors failed to present sufficient evidence to the grand jury to bring charges, and relied on faulty expert testimony. The grand jury transcript remains under seal.

The defense had earlier prevailed in dismissing a count of sexual battery by restraint due to the statute of limitations, though prosecutors were able to restore the charge by returning to the grand jury. The defense has 30 days to renew its effort to dismiss that charge.

A hearing is set for December 8.

Former state House Majority Leader and APS administrator Sheryl Williams Stapleton indicted on 28 charges

 

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Nearly two months after investigators with the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office conducted a sweeping raid on properties tied to Sheryl Williams Stapleton, the now former state representative and Albuquerque Public Schools administrator is facing numerous felony charges. A grand jury indictment filed Monday morning accuses Williams Stapleton of racketeering, money laundering, fraud, and kickbacks among other charges for crimes alleged to have occurred between 2015 and 2021.

 

In a July 2021 search warrant, investigators with the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office accused Williams Stapleton of orchestrating lucrative contracts for a company called Robotics, which was providing educational software to APS students. APS paid Robotics more than $5 million over 13 years.

 

According to the initial search warrant in the case, investigators believe approximately 60% of money paid to Robotics by APS between 2014 and 2021 was subsequently redirected to Sheryl Williams Stapletons’ business interests, totaling $954,386.04. Investigators say bank records and surveillance video shows Williams Stapleton negotiated multiple checks written by APS to Robotics.

 

Since agents filed the initial search warrant in the case, Williams Stapleton resigned from her role as a state representative with the New Mexico Legislature in August. Williams Stapleton held the role of House Majority Leader until her resignation.

 

In late August, Albuquerque Public Schools β€œdischarged” Williams Stapleton from her role as the director of the district’s Career and Technical Education Department. Several other employees have been placed on leave while the district continues to investigate allegations.

 

Williams Stapleton has maintained her innocence in prior communications through her attorney. In a statement sent after her resignation from the New Mexico Legislature, Williams Stapleton’s attorney Ahmad Assed wrote in part, β€œThere is a high burden to present evidence to support proof beyond a reasonable doubt that the State must meet to overcome the presumption of her innocence. The Spanish National Police (PolicΓ­a Nacional), supported by the Italian National Police (Polizia di Stato), Europol and Eurojust, dismantled an organised crime group linked to the Italian Mafia involved in online fraud, money laundering, drug trafficking and property crime. The suspects defrauded hundreds of victims through phishing attacks and other types of online fraud such as SIM swapping and business email compromise before laundering the money through a wide network of money mules and shell companies. Last year alone, the illegal profit is estimated at about € 10 million.

Seizures include many electronic devices, 224 credit cards, SIM cards and point-of-sale terminals, a marihuana plantation and equipment for its cultivation and distribution.

 

This large criminal network was very well organised in a pyramid structure, which included different specialised areas and roles. Among the members of the criminal group were computer experts, who created the phishing domains and carried out the cyber fraud; recruiters and organisers of the money muling; and money laundering experts, including experts in cryptocurrencies. Most of the suspected members are Italian nationals, some of whom have links to mafia organisations. Located in Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), the suspects tricked their victims, mainly Italian nationals, into sending large sums to bank accounts controlled by the criminal network. They then laundered the criminal proceeds through a wide network of money mules and shell companies.

 

Europol experts to support the field activities

 

Europol facilitated the information exchange, the operational coordination and provided analytical support for this investigation, which lasted over a year. During the operational activities, Europol deployed two analysts and one forensic expert to Tenerife, Spain and one analyst to Italy. Additionally, Europol funded the deployment of three Italian investigators to Tenerife to support the Spanish authorities during the action day.

The Joint Cybercrime Action Taskforce (J-CAT) at Europol supported the operation. This standing operational team consists of cyber liaison officers from different countries who work from the same office on high profile cybercrime investigations.

Sept 17 (Reuters) - An extremely rare official first-edition printed copy of the U.S. Constitution, as adopted by America's founding fathers at a convention in Philadelphia in 1787, will be put up for bid by Sotheby's in mid-November, the auction house announced on Friday.

It last sold for $165,000 in 1988, when it was acquired by the late S. Howard Goldman, a New York real estate developer and private collector of American autographs, historical documents and manuscripts.

 

His wife, Dorothy Tapper Goldman, is offering it for sale, with all proceeds going to the charitable foundation established in her name to further the public's understanding of democracy, the auction house said.

 

The document is one of just 11 known existing copies - the only one still in private hands - from the official first printing of the final text of the Constitution, as adopted in Philadelphia and submitted to the Continental Congress for review, Sotheby's said.

 

Copies from that first printing, bearing no signatures and believed to have originally numbered about 500, were also furnished to delegates of the Constitutional Convention itself. Two surviving copies are housed at the Library of Congress.

 

The Constitution's first printing is considerably rarer than even the first edition of the 1776 Declaration of Independence, Sotheby's said.

U.S. taxpayers have been footing the bill for Chinese military-linked studies for over a decade, a National Pulse investigation has revealed.

 

Various National Institutes of Health agencies – including Anthony Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases – have funded over 250 studies authored by researchers at institutions controlled by China’s People’s Liberation Army, The National Pulse can exclusively reveal.

 

Following a unique investigation into the origins of scientific research papers, the whopping level of collaboration with the Chinese military will further concerns in the United States that the political class has surrendered to the Chinese Communist Party. Last week it emerged that the ranking General in the U.S. Armed Forces agreed to tip off China in advance of a U.S.-led attack.

 

The unearthed studies, from the National Institutes (NIH) online database, expand upon the People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology unearthed by The National Pulse.

U.S. Taxpayers Funding the People’s Liberation Army.

 

Of 265 studies identified by The National Pulse, the Chinese military entity most frequently appearing on studies funded by the NIH is the Beijing-based PLA General Hospital, a subsidiary of the army’s Joint Logistics Support Force of the Central Military Commission.

 

A now-deleted informational site about the facility notes it is β€œthe largest comprehensive hospital in the whole army” that is β€œresponsible for the medical and health care tasks of the leaders of the state and the military commission.”

 

A study – β€œKras-Deficient T Cells Attenuate Graft-versus-Host Disease but Retain Graft-versus-Leukemia Activity” – has two researchers from the PLA General Hospital named as authors while noting β€œthis work was supported in part by National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Grant AI079087 (to D.W.).”

Explosive revelations about the origins of COVID-19 have been revealed in a documentary by award-winning journalist Sharri Markson.

 

Ms Markson spent more than a year investigating the potential leak of the virus from a top-secret laboratory in Wuhan, China.

 

Her 'What Really Happened in Wuhan' documentary on Sky News Australia uncovered evidence a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology first occurred in September, 2019.

The lab leak

 

On the September 12, 2019, the virus database at the Wuhan Institute of Virology was taken offline, and with it 22,000 coronavirus samples were gone.

 

That same day security was beefed up at the facility and a tender was issued to replace the air-conditioning system. There was later a communications blackout, with no cell-phone or signals activity.

 

The institute also went on a spending spree, purchasing an air medical waste incinerator and PCR equipment to test for coronaviruses.

 

"Listen the people that had the most access to the most intelligence, are telling you that the most likely origin of COVID-19, of the Wuhan virus was what happened… was a lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology," John Ratcliffe, former United States Director of National Intelligence, said.

 

"This is really most likely what happened and it's more than just a possibility, it's certainly a probability and it's probably a certainty."

 

Intelligence was received that three people working at the Wuhan Institute of Virology had fallen sick in October 2019, two months before the first official case was reported.

 

"What (former Secretary of State) Mike Pompeo and I put out is people became sick at the lab in October and with symptoms that became entirely consistent with what most people have experienced around the world from COVID-19," Mr Ratcliffe said.

 

Mr Ratcliffe was quizzed on what he thought had happened to those employees.

 

"What I can say is that from the intelligence perspective, is we know that some of the people that were most involved, either infected or reporting on or whistle blowing on or trying to get answers and journalists report on, have been difficult to track down later, at least from my time there," he said.

 

"And so I think that's consistent with what the Chinese Communist Party does. The status of those individuals and why they've disappeared, I really can't comment on that."

'Patient zero'

 

One of those three researchers working at the Wuhan Institute of Virology was Huang Yanling, who disappeared from the institute's website in early 2020.

 

Her social media presence also vanished. She has not been seen since.

 

Many believe she was infected with COVID-19 and was 'patient zero', despite Beijing's denials.

 

Mr Ratcliffe said it quickly became clear there was a virus spreading in Wuhan.

 

"In late 2019 we have intelligence from both human intelligence sources and signals intelligence sources and other intelligence sources that were telling us that there was some sort of a problem in Wuhan," he said.

 

Mr Ratcliffe said the Chinese Communist Party would not have silenced doctors, scientists and journalists if there was just a naturally occurring virus from someone who "ate a bat".

 

"If there was really no blame here, if this was really just some naturally occurring virus because someone ate a bat from a wet market, China wouldn't have done the things that they did," he said.

 

"The Chinese Communist Party would not have shut down Wuhan. They would not have silenced doctors and scientists and journalists and disappeared some of them."

He said there was still compelling intelligence the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology that has not been declassified.

NSW paramedic says he's been suspended after taking COVID vaccine battle to court

 

A Riverina paramedic who last week challenged the requirement for all New South Wales health workers to have a COVID vaccine, says he has been suspended from work effective immediately.

Mr Larter said following a meeting with the Paramedicine Council of NSW on Friday, he was advised via email on Monday that he had been suspended by the council.

 

He said he understood that to mean he could not work as a paramedic for NSW Ambulance.

 

"It's essentially said that I can't operate in any capacity, voluntary or in any paid capacity," said Mr Larter, who described it as "pretty disappointing".

 

"My next shift was tomorrow, so clearly I won't be there, and that's a loss to the community isn't it?"

Mr Larter said he was one of seven paramedics based at Tumut Ambulance Station and was also station manager.

 

"I feel for my colleagues because [of] the pressure that's going to be placed on them by these decisions, to take out these frontline workers."

No reason given for decision

 

Mr Larter said no reasons for the council's decision were outlined in the email, which advised the matter would be reported on, including the reasons, within a month.

Bill Gates raises over $1 bn for clean energy

Bill Gates's nonprofit group Breakthrough Energy announced Monday that it has raised more than $1 billion from seven major companies, including ArcelorMittal and General Motors, to fund clean energy development.

 

Early participants in the initiative, dubbed "Catalyst," also include American Airlines, Bank of America, BlackRock, Boston Consulting Group and Microsoft.

 

The amount raised so far tops $1 billion and has been given in the form of grants, shares and commitments to acquire the technologies developed, a spokesman for the organization told AFP.

 

Launched in June, Catalyst has already forged partnerships with the European Commission, the European Investment Bank, and the US Department of Energy.

The project will initially focus on accelerating the deployment of four technologies: direct carbon capture, green hydrogen, long-term energy storage and sustainable aviation fuels.

 

But it also plans to look at other innovations, to reduce the carbon impact of steel and cement, for example.

 

"Avoiding a climate disaster will require a new industrial revolution. Half the technology needed to get to zero emissions either doesn't exist yet or is too expensive for much of the world to afford," Gates said in a statement.

High School Football Teams Defy Orders and Lead Fans in Stirring Postgame Prayer

 

Last week, school officials in Putnam County, Tennessee, were told that district employees were not allowed to lead students in prayer. That included not only teachers and staff but also coaches of athletic teams.

 

According to WZTV-TV in Nashville, Americans United for Separation of Church and State complained about β€œseveral instances of prayer and proselytizing at events at Cookeville and Upperman high schools,” both of which are in the Putnam Country School District.

 

Administrators from the school district contacted the schools’ attorney, who informed them that the law about cases such as this one is clear.

 

β€œCourts have consistently ruled that prayer and proselytizing can not be sponsored by schools or school personnel,” the attorney said.

 

In a statement to WZTV, the district further explained its position on the matter.

 

β€œAs a district, we absolutely understand the importance of prayer in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff members,” it said. β€œWe support the right of students to participate in and lead spontaneous prayers. That right is and will continue to be protected.
