Texas Congressman: Border Town “Completely Overrun…Virtually No Border in Del Rio, Migrants Are Crossing Back and Forth from Mexico with Ease”

Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) is sounding the alarm over a sudden flood of thousands of migrants who he says are overrunning the border town of Del Rio and warning there is “virtually no border” as migrants cross the border at will.

On Wednesday Gonzales reported there were over 3,000 migrants being held in an open air detention camp under the U.S. side of the border bridge (that number swelled to over 8,000 overnight), “These photos were sent to my office by local officials in Del Rio. There are currently over 3,000 migrants encamped under the International Bridge in Del Rio. Agents on the ground say this could take weeks to process, and that they’ve received intel of more people on their way…The city is now completely overrun and our border patrol is overwhelmed. President Biden and Sec. Mayorkas need to act NOW.”

On Thursday Gonzales toured the border detention camp, “A video from my visit this morning to the International Bridge in Del Rio. Currently at 8300 migrants waiting to be processed with thousands more on the way. Our border patrol is doing everything they possibly can but they are at a breaking point.”

This video posted by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) proves Gonzales’ point. Migrants can seen freely crossing the Rio Grande in both directions between the United States and Mexico, “Illegal aliens continue to flood across the border. Over 8,000 were under the Del Rio International Bridge as of this morning! My team was sent this video by a law enforcement official on the ground in Del Rio. This disaster was caused by Joe Biden.”

Update: Over 9,000 migrants now under the bridge, per Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, ” Source on the ground at the international bridge in Del Rio just sent me this video showing the deteriorating situation. Federal source says the number has now increased to 9,300.

Texas Governor Orders 6 Points Of Entry Along Border Shut Down

Texas Governor Greg Abbott today issued a statement after the Biden Administration reversed their decision to close ports of entry after a massive influx of migrants arrived at the Texas border:

A Wednesday letter authored by four Republican senators, including Rick Scott, Dan Sullivan, Tommy Tuberville and Joni Ernst, was sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken urging an immediate designation, citing that the Taliban presents "a significant threat to the United States."

In the letter the senators take issue with the recent emerging consensus among Biden administration officials that somehow the Taliban has "moderated" since being overthrown in the 2001 US invasion of Afghanistan.

"Since re-establishing control of Afghanistan [in August], the Taliban resumed the same murderous and oppressive habits that characterized their leadership tenure prior to the arrival of US forces in 2001," they wrote.

"Most concerning to us is that among those beaten and chased by Taliban forces were American citizens and their families still living in Afghanistan," it adds. The Biden administration has this week admitted there are American citizens still trapped in Afghanistan. GOP leaders have since the last US military plane left Kabul airport on Aug.30 charged Biden with essentially abandoning Americans and leaving them behind.

The White House has since left open the question of whether the Taliban could receive US humanitarian and foreign aid, saying it depends on the Taliban's behavior. The Republican move to get the group listed as an official terrorist organization would preclude this possibility altogether.

In contrast to claims of a more "moderate" Taliban leadership now governing, the senators' letter cites beatings and oppression of women, public attacks on opposition protestors, and persecution of those who formerly helped Western allied forces.

The letter also highlights Sirajuddin Haqqani's role in the new government as Interior Minister. Haqqani has long been known to have plotted and carried out attacks against Americans (and allies), and is still on the FBI's "most wanted" list.

"The Taliban display the will and the means to attack Americans and American interests," the letter concludes while asserting the group means the convention criteria for Washington to designate it.

While noting the division and disagreements that plague the United States in the 21st century in a recent episode of her podcast, liberal comedian Sarah Silverman suggested the country “break up” into “two or three countries” as a result of irreconcilable differences regarding politics and vaccines in a statement some say reflects those made by Pat Buchanan in his 2011 book, “Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?”

In an excerpt of the podcast posted to Twitter, Silverman said, “I mean, this may be a negative thought, or a positive one I don’t know, but if people aren’t getting along, like in a relationship, they break up. You know? So why don’t we just, finally just realize that this, these states aren’t working, and like divide up into like two or three countries?”

She added, “Like USA 1 and USA 2? And they can be USA 1, like the conservatives can be USA 1 because they love being number one and it means something to them, and I’d love to have that be theirs, they can be USA 1, we’ll be USA 2, and we’ll be allies.”

Noting that vaccine requirements would likely be a defining issue between the two countries, with hypothetical USA 2 requiring a seemingly endless series of COVID-19 booster shots, she then added, “And you’ll come over here, and we’ll go over there, and you know when you come to certain, many times when you to a different country you have to get a vaccine. That’s that.”

Author Ryan Girdusky noted, “Pat Buchanan was fired for writing ‘Will America Survive Till 2025’ just a few years ago… now breaking up the US is being openly floated and will probably become an increasingly common opinion in the future.”

Girdusky refers to paleoconservative icon and former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan’s 2011 book, “Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?” The book, released in 2011, apparently led to Buchanan being fired as a paid commentator for MSNBC, before the cable network veered extremely far to the left, as Brian Stelter, now a show host for CNN but then a writer for the New York Times noted in 2012 with an article titled “With Book, Buchanan Set His Fate”.

La Nuestra Familia was formed in Folsom State Prison around 1968, constructed as a force that could combat the existing oppression of the traditionally dominant Mexican Mafia. Since then the Familia has moved eastward across the United States and developed prominent ties in Colorado state prisons.

According to Robert Koehler (2000), an ex-convict and past member of the Nuestra Familia, the Family operates as a "mutual aid society," committed to providing commissary goods to fellow Familia members in prison at inexpensive or "face value" costs, and providing commissary goods to members placed in administrative segregation. This is considered "welfare" The Family operates a "capitol," or "power base," in the Limon Correctional Facility in Colorado, considered the most concentrated facility housing the longest-serving Familianos and Familiano leaders in the state.

According to Koehler, in Colorado prisons, the Familia is an attempt to protect and preserve Chicano culture in the face of a majority white culture saturating both Colorado prisons and the American criminal justice system. The Familia operate with a "cause," an ideology that places great emphasis on the psychological and physical protection of its members as well as the preservation of the Familia culture itself.

In 1997 an FBI investigation revealed that top-ranking Nuestra Familia leaders were creating new recruits and turning them into organized criminal operatives upon release, also known as "wolfpacks." From their thrones in California's Pelican Bay State Prison, they controlled the intra-prison drug and sex trade, while communicating with their members on the outside, ordering hits and organizing smuggling rings. One Neustra Familia leader recently released from Pelican Bay was ordered to kill a member of his own gang, top-ranking Salinas, California gang leader Michael "Mikeo" Castillo, who was in charge of Sonoma County's drug operations. Five days after Castillo was released from a short, DUI jail sentence, he was shot at close range in the head.

The FBI task-force, dubbed "Black Widow," was the largest investigation into prison gang activities in California's history. It soon became a multi-agency endeavor, including the FBI, the California Department of Corrections, and the US attorney, operating out of their command center at a downtown high-rise in Santa Rosa, California.

The Nuestra Familia have a strong base in Northern California, Sonoma County, Mendocino County, Santa Rosa, Windsor, and San Jose. Ukiah became a meeting place for gang leaders in March of 2000, including the 3 "highest-ranking" Nuestra Familia leaders in the Bay Area. The Nuestra Familia share allegiances with their Northern California-area affiliates the Nortenos, rivals of the Mexican Mafia's affiliated Surenos, which operate out of Southern California. Pelican Bay parolees were reported by informants in 2000 to be instructed by their Familia captains to "re-energize" the Nortenos in Sonoma County.

Lawyer charged in probe of Trump-Russia investigation

WASHINGTON (AP) — The prosecutor tasked with examining the U.S. government’s investigation into Russian election interference charged a prominent cybersecurity lawyer on Thursday with making a false statement to the FBI.

The case against the attorney, Michael Sussmann of the Perkins Coie law firm, is just the second prosecution brought by special counsel John Durham in two-and-a-half years of work. Yet neither case brought by Durham undoes the core finding of an earlier investigation by Robert Mueller that Russia had interfered in sweeping fashion on behalf of Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and that the Trump campaign welcomed that aid.

It lays bare the wide-ranging and evolving nature of Durham’s investigation. In addition to having scrutinized the activities of FBI and CIA officials during the early days of the Russia probe, it has also looked at the behavior of private individuals like Sussman who provided the U.S. government with information as it scrambled to determine whether Trump associates were coordinating with Russia to tip the election’s outcome.

The indictment accuses Sussmann of lying to the FBI when he was questioned about a September 2016 conversation he had with the FBI’s general counsel when he relayed concerns from cybersecurity researchers about potentially suspicious contacts between Russia-based Alfa Bank and a Trump organization server. The FBI looked into the matter but found no connections. Sussmann is a former federal prosecutor who specializes in cybersecurity.

Sussmann’s lawyers, Sean Berkowitz and Michael Bosworth, said their client is a highly-respected national security lawyer who had previously worked in the Justice Department under both Republican and Democratic administrations and said they were confident he would prevail at trial and “vindicate his good name.”

“Mr. Sussmann has committed no crime,” they said in a statement. “Any prosecution here would be baseless, unprecedented, and an unwarranted deviation from the apolitical and principled way in which the Department of Justice is supposed to do its work.”

The Alfa Bank matter was not a pivotal element of the Russia probe and was not even mentioned in Mueller’s 448-page report in 2019. Still, the indictment may give fodder to Russia investigation critics who regard it as politically tainted and engineered by Democrats.

Sussmann’s firm, Perkins Coie, has deep Democratic connections. A then-partner at the firm, Marc Elias, brokered a deal with the Fusion GPS research firm to study Trump’s business ties to Russia. That work, by former British spy Christopher Steele, produced a dossier of research that helped form the basis of flawed surveillance applications targeting a former Trump campaign official, Carter Page.

Around 2000, the leading organizer of a Pelican Bay "wolfpack" was 26-year-old Robert Haas, a Santa Rosa parolee who was arrested in April after hiding in the home of another convicted Nuestra Familia leader, Henry "Happy" Cervantes.

Structure and Organization

The structure and operational organization of the Nuestra Familia is based on a model of capitalist enterprise, and relies on regular threats against correctional staff to maintain authority. The business manager, or "store" manager, is a level 1 member that operates out of a cell, and charges 150% for items purchased by other inmates. After one week the payback rate is raised to 200%. If the debt is not repaid within a reasonable amount of time, debt collectors are assigned to coerce or pressure the convict into paying. Familianos are privileged in that they are only required to pay no interest or very little interest. Records of profit from the "store" are kept secret by the store owner, or memorized in his head. The financial status and balances of the Familia is maintained by a "finance minister." Debts are sometimes repaid by Familianos' family members outside of prison, who send money orders into the DOC bank accounts of several Familianos, who then forward the correct debt sum to the financial minister.

At Level 1 there is the finance minister, the business manager, and the five council members. Among these 5 council members there is a security chief, who manages the less prestigious level 4 inmates, the communications chief, and the director. The director oversees operations, delegates authority, and represents the interests of the Familia. He makes sure that business is conducted according to the rules, and decides on important issues concerning the welfare of the Familia, and the strategies and operations of the family. The security chief prevents the intrusion of inmates into the Familia's affairs, issuing warnings to those who interfere, as well as hits (which are rare) to those who respond to no other solution. The communications chief directs the messages to members of other gangs and Familias in other prisons or on the outside. The receivers of the Familia's messages confirm reception to their family members outside of prison, and those family members then verify reception to the Familia when the Familia requests a confirmation, usually through telephone, with all parties prearranged and aware of their respective responsibilities.

Level 2 includes negotiators, who act as messengers to other prison gangs such as the Bloods and the Crips, and in Colorado prisons are often Caucasian, as white convicts have a greater chance of escaping the suspicion of prison guards.

Level 3 soldiers, known as "hustlers," collect drugs smuggled in by correctional staff and distribute those drugs to convicts. In securing the drug trade within prison, the Nuestra Familia attempt to convert guards into "mules," who may then transport drugs, trade goods, or messages into and out of prison. Guards become "Mules" when they assist the Familia carry out its objectives by smuggling in money, drugs, messages, and women for sex. These duties can often be enforced by using blackmail or extortion.

WASHINGTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - An attorney who represented Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign was indicted on Thursday for lying to the FBI, as part of Special Counsel John Durham's ongoing probe into the origins of the FBI's investigation into ties between Russia and former President Donald Trump's campaign.

Michael Sussmann, a partner with Perkins Coie who also represented the Democratic National Committee in connection with Russia's hack of the organization, is accused of making false statements during a Sept. 19, 2016 meeting with former FBI General Counsel James Baker.

This marks the second criminal case now that Durham has filed so far since former Attorney General William Barr tapped him in 2019 to investigate the U.S. officials who probed the Trump-Russia contacts. Trump, a Republican, portrayed the 2016 FBI investigation as part of a witch hunt against him.

After the Biden administration came on board, Durham was allowed to stay on as special counsel and continue his work.

In the indictment, Sussmann is accused of falsely telling Baker that he did not represent any client when he met him to give the FBI white papers and other data files containing evidence of questionable cyber links between the Trump Organization and a Russian-based bank.

The indictment alleges that in fact, Sussmann had turned over this information not as a "good citizen" but rather, as an attorney representing a U.S. technology executive, an internet company and Clinton's presidential campaign.

Attorneys for Sussmann were expected to staunchly deny that he lied.
